This review is only for one of the employees at this location. It's one thing being constantly asked if you can be helped. I know that stores enforce that type of harping and your job could be at risk if you don't. It's totally another thing to just be flat out rude. The other day while I was checking out the woman asked me for my email and I asked her why I always have to give it each time....isn't it on file with my card by now since I pay my bills on line? Anyway...this woman actually cut me off while I was talking with an eye-roll, gave me my bag and turned her back to me. Thanks a lot jerk! I was just asking a question.
To be fair there are some very pleasant woman who work here. Maybe they could train the prissy one to not be such a total downer.
If you want a bra for anything other than show, go elsewhere. It took me two years to use a gift certificate from here because I was looking for something that provided more than entertainment. Apparently most Vikkies shoppers are looking for brassieres with fruit affixed to them and panties with text messages across the behind.
I gave up on a bra, settled for panties and lip gloss. I hope I am not hit by a car the day I am wearing them.
This place use to be wonderful and a calming place to go after work, buy something pretty and calm down from the day. No longer...I feel like an outsider. First off, lesbian's like pretty panties too so don't stare me up and down with my baggy shorts and Cubs hat like I don't belong there!
I maxed out my Angel card...twice...and now it's gone. I couldn't deal with it. What a wreck of customer service...esp for a college kid at the time who had no clue and figured she was wrong.
This location is just what I hate about every store at North and Clybourn - I don't dress nice so I get glared at and never helped although I just mighthave more money sitting in my pocket than the others there. Seriously people, it's the weekend - I refuse to wear work clothes and relish that I can wear jeans.
And the biggest thing - discontinued my size. I had just gotten comfortable with my DD self (which you said was a D BTW) and then there's nothing I can wear? Go to Lane Bryant?! (which I tried, too big for me there...*sigh*) These people are a joke - get over your prissy selves VS girls. Try actually helping people for a change...
In all fairness, this 1-star review is for one of their employees, not the whole store. Unless, of course, she is an essential representative of the company. If that's the case, she needs to be terminated prompto.
So last April, I walked into this somewhat crowded store. I wanted to find a particular kind of bra, so I tracked down an employee, who was folding panties. She seemed older than all of the other employees in the store, and she had blond hair and she had some kind of accent. If you run into someone like her, avoid her at all costs because she'd do nothing for you except make you leave with a bad taste in your mouth.
So I walk up to her and ask a question. She ignores me. I repeat only to be ignored again. No big deal. Maybe she didn't hear me. I gently touch her arm and she looks up with an ANNOYED expression on her face. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
Taken aback, I repeat my question. With a sour face, she shakes her head and says, "I can't help you" without making any eye contact. Since all the other employees seem busy with other customers, I very politely ask that woman if there's anyone who can help me. She throws down whatever's in her hand, gives me a very curt "I don't know. I'm busy!" and storms away!
I was so disgusted with her behavior that I left right away. I'm never going back there again!
I AM WARNING EVERY GIRL (or guy) OUT THERE TO BEWARE OF THIS STORE.
I've been an angel for more than a year now and all i got from this stinkin place was 9 coupons (one for each month), high interest rates, the most pretentious telphone customer service representatives, and another tricking me into buying $10 worth of credit card protection PER month. after spending $250, i gotta stinkin gift card for $10 and another my birthday but those are the interest fees i pay. once they found i spent two fitty, they gave me an angel vip card, which is no different AT ALL than the orig. card. except for the fact that it's white. i warn people, like any other credit card, it will persuade you to buy off credit, leaving you to pay the min. payment every month. it is a trick, a sceme and in return you get nothing. NOTHING.
one star for the beautiful, longlasting bras i get here.
I WILL STAY WITH V.S. ONLY BECAUSE IF I DON'T PAY OFF THESE BILLS I WILL GET BAD CREDIT. AND IF I COMMIT SUICIDE FROM DEPRESSION OF THESE HIGH FEES, (AGAIN, LIKE ANY OTHER CREDIT CARD) MY SPOUSE OR FAMILY MEMBERS WILL HAVE TO PAY MY DEBT. IT IS SO SAD.
Not a bad Vikkie's, although...Vickkie's is never bad. Service was decent, store was pretty organized even though they were having their Semi-annual sale with a lot of items in bins on tables. Reason for my two stars? I spent $90+ dollars and they told me they DON'T validate parking!!! The lady behind the counter said "You can go up to California Pizza Kitchen and buy a coke for $2 and they'll validate it for you". Okay, so I spend over $90 here, but I have to go up to a pizza joint to buy a coke, which I don't want, so I don't have to pay the $6.50 parking. Seriously!!?
I like VS, in fact, I am an Angel. I have not used my card very frequently for a few years since they decided to discontinue certain sizes.
So the low review goes to
1) BOOOOOO for discontinuing my size
and 2) What is with the horrible customer service at the North Ave location? I seem to always be an inconvenience when I ask for help....Come to think of it, why do I always have to ask for help?! I am OFFERED help at any other retail establishment.
For the countless eye rolls, and nasty "WHAT??" in response to my "excuse me?" here you go Victoria's Secret North Ave:
ONE measly star. (**AGAIN, just for the North Ave location**)
Unlike others, I had pretty good service here. I called to check the availability of a bra and they put it aside for me. When I walked in and informed them that something was held for me, they immediately told me where to go. I browsed some more and was asked several times if I needed assistance. Returns here are a breeze as well. The sales assistant who handled my return seemed genuinely interested in why I was returning and tried to make suggestions. When I inquired about a specific item that comes with a bra and was informed it wasn't sold separately, she attempted to see if there were any extras around.
This store has a large selection and seems to be pretty well staffed.
A little disappointing that they don't validate for the garage.
As an employee there, I find this place quite friendly and it offers more products than you can find in other VS stores.
I do agree that it may be a bit disorganized and pushy, but since we get new employees all the time, it's hard for everyone to get the hang of operating smoothly with each other.
Yeah these credit cards are worthless. Pretty much any kind of store card is such a hassle. The reason VS's employees are always "up your ass" is because they get rewarded for opening the most credit cards for the week. It's all just a contest.
I like working there and their bras (and body sprays) are wonderful, and that's why it gets 4 stars.
I was in this store for 10 minutes and I swear a dozen women asked me if I needed help. It was very annoying.
I also was given a hard time just returning an item, "whats wrong with it?, what kind of bra do you wear?, can i show you more? can i measure you?" As they can see i am returning 1 of 6 bras from my receipt , I DONT WANT ANOTHER STINKING BRA!!
pushy! must work on commission and be trained to be completely annoying.
Has anyone ever had to deal with customer service for your Angel Card????? They are AWFUL!!!!!!!!! They must deal with so many delinquents, that when they deal with someone who genuinely has a problem with their bill, they have attitude. Worse than that, they outsourse to India and you can't understand anything they say. Imagine an accent with attitude! I have canceled my card and will never get another one.
Victoria's Secret bras are amazing - there's always something special that not only feels comfy but makes me feel incredibly sexy. They have great sales if you don't mind digging through boxes.
There's something about this store at this specific location that I don't like. It never seems to have a great sales selection. This disappoints me, because it's the closest VS to me. They don't validate parking at the garage attached to the structure, so I'd have to get it validated elsewhere or else take some other means of public transportation to get here. The sales people seem to be pretty nonchalant compared to other VS stores in the Chicagoland area. I'd probably come here to redeem coupons for free underwear and stuff, but I'd probably go downtown or the one at Century Mall first. Even before that I might just shop online...
Basically everything you would expect! Also nice employees, who are very helpful!
This review actually goes out to all the Victoria's Secret stores. I have never experienced such pushy, up your ass salespeople. How many times can someone come up to you and ask if you care to open an Angels credit card. No I don't want your worthless credit card, it does nothing for me!
