Victoria did an EXCELLENT job with our wedding photos. Our wedding venue (Salvage One) was an incredible place to take pictures, and we thought she took advantage of the space and got some really great shots.
Besides the awesome photos, I liked her for three reasons:
1) Her prices were all listed on her website - Suprisingly, not a ton of places do this. There's already so much involved when planning a wedding, and calling around and keeping track of pricing and details for everything became a difficult task. With Yelp and the fact that her prices were listed on the site, at least the photographer selection was easy.
2) Her package came with expertly touched-up digital photos - This was very important to us and well worth it. She was more expensive to hire for the night than some of the other photographers I saw, but in the long run it was cheaper and so much more fun getting the photos digitally (she also uploaded them to a site from which we and our guests could view and order prints). My husband's family is from Ireland, so sharing with them was a breeze. We ordered a select few prints from her (which were also reasonably priced for professional prints), and the rest we got for 10 cents each at Walgreens! We were able to send packages of prints and DVDs of our favorite images to the wedding party, family, and friends for super cheap. It's also peace of mind knowing that we have the copywrite for all our photos and could get prints at our own pace, rather than having a deadline to order them.
3) We got the photos fairly quickly, in six weeks. It seemed like forever to wait at the time, but from what I've heard, this is extremely fast. I have friends who didn't get their photos until 3-9 months after their wedding!
All in all, I highly recommend Victoria! -

Our wedding was really the most joyous day of our lives, and we have the photos to prove it! Victoria shot such a wide spectrum of photos that capture the feeling of the day, from tender moments to funny craziness on the dance floor to adorable children. We love the way she edited so many shots to really fit the mood. She was both fun and professional on the day -- she's positive and gives helpful direction during portraits, and then totally stealth when capturing candids. She got so many great shots of moments I remember, and I had no idea she was getting them.
In case you relate, brides: I do not generally like the way I photograph. I tend to see every flaw. And yet I swear I see only beauty and happiness in the vast majority of my wedding photos! Sure, there will always be some that aren't faves, but the thing to keep in mind is that Victoria shoots a TON of options. I've seen photographers shoot bride portraits like it's the class picture (standard pose, other standard pose, done). But V made a lot of suggestions for us; and then sometimes she just snapped as we naturally goofed around. She also repeatedly asked if there was anything else we wanted, which is great, like a doctor asking if you have any questions. :)
If you're looking into the packages and considering a second shooter, I would encourage you to do so if possible -- especially if the bride and groom don't want to see one another before the ceremony (like us). Victoria brought Brianne Bradbury as our second shooter and she got awesome shots of the guys getting ready, close-ups of my husband's reaction as Victoria shot me coming down the aisle, and cocktail party candids while the bridal party was doing post-ceremony pics.
Also: You get all the files. No proofs with watermarks, no paying for printing rights or high-res images. You just get all of it, both online previews and on disc. So, yeah. Our only problem now is choosing which of our 1,000 favorite photos to put in the album!Listed in: Great Chicago Area Wedding…

We could not be happier with our wedding pictures. They are simply beautiful and Victoria was a joy to work with. From our first email through the day of the wedding, Victoria was organized, dependable, relaxed, and fun to work with. She paid attention to detail and captured beautiful photos.
I chose to work with Victoria because I had seen her website and then read the reviews on Yelp. I could not have asked for a better person! She really lived up to the reviews.
Also, Victoria has a way of turning any space in to a great one for photography. Since I got married during the Chicago winter, there weren't a lot of photo options. Victoria, however, was creative and got some amazing shots! Thanks Victoria! -

We had the pleasure of working with Victoria and Nicolette for our winter wedding. I was worried that all of our winter shots would get dull but Victoria did an amazing job. Every picture looks like ever little girl's dream. I cannot recommend Victoria Sprung photography more highly. You will not be disappointed!

Many thanks to Victoria Sprung, for being a wonderful photographer at our wedding and reception last month, respectively at Rockefeller Chapel and A New Leaf.
Victoria was fun, professional, flexible, and extremely competent to work with. She also helped us to stay on top of our schedule, and gave solid advice in planning and throughout the event day.
She is also competitively priced (rare in Wedding World!).
The preview photos that Victoria sent look great! We are looking forward to seeing the finals. -

I cannot say enough good things about Victoria's photograpy. She is SUPER talented and her work really speaks for itself. We got married in August at Cantigny Gardens and our wedding photos are all we wanted and more. They are truly beautiful and really captured the entire day in a natural way. She was also incredibly easy to work with- friendly, professional...and 100% calm as can be which is so necessary on the day you will be pretty worked up! Hiring her should be the easiest decision of your wedding planning.

We are so happy to have used Victoria for our wedding. Her organization, sense of humor and attentiveness make her very easy to work with. During our engagement session, she gave us good direction and had great ideas. Those pictures turned out great! During our wedding, Victoria was able to go with the flow (ie. successfully wrangle our wedding party and family!) and make things work. Victoria is a true professional and also a great person. Highly recommend!

Really Victoria does not need my recommendation because she has so many other rave reviews, but I will give it anyway. If you want a photographer who is chill and easy to work with, hire Victoria. If you want a photographer who will take fun, candid shots, hire Victoria. If you want little details of your event captured, hire Victoria. She will do the traditional group shots and fun poses as well. She is affordable, noninvasive at the wedding ceremony and reception, and allows you to keep the rights to your digital negatives. Her photos are beautiful and I thought that she made me look beautiful (in the majority of the photos- we can't all look perfect all of the time!) I wish we had the opportunity to get more cool on location shots around the city, but unfortunately the weather did not permit outdoor shots that day. I feel like we wasted her talent with all indoor shots!
If you're on the fence, don't be- hire Victoria! Worth the price and more! -

I can't believe that I hadn't written a review on Victoria after our wedding, so I guess I'll need to make up for lost time.
Victoria is an amazing photog, she has a great eye and is very unobtrusive which are two of the most important things in a wedding photographer. I feel lucky that we snagged her right on the cusp of her business really taking off because our rates were phenomenally good. I know she's a bit more pricey now but it's because she can show what amazing work that she does. She was right on time to both our engagement session and wedding. She totally rolled with the punches when I suggested we do our e-pics which we were ice skating and she got some awesome shots!! She works well with all the other vendors that I had and we received our photos in a very timely fashion, she even emailed us 3 sneak peeks at like 3 am after our wedding!!
What else can I say? Not one complaint! -

Will the real Rose M. please stand up?
It's me, it's me! I was astounded to see that someone pulled a picture of me from Victoria's blog and posed as me to write a fake review. Seriously people, THIS is what's wrong with the world today. Get-A-Life, impostor...
In case you were wondering, here are the reasons why we know it's fake (aside from the fact, that I am in fact the new Mrs. M):
1. As far as I know, Victoria isn't married, and if she is, my second shooter certainly wasn't her husband. The second shooter I hired was recommended by Victoria, however, I'm pretty sure Jen Soares is not her husband.
2. Victoria could not have been more punctual. She showed up right on time and was an absolute delight to have with us on our wedding day. In face, she was a delight to work with from the very first email I sent to her.
3. I didn't even realize she was there capturing such breath taking photos while at Holy Name. Seriously, this was pretty much Victoria the whole day. Aside from the portraits/bridal party pics, I didn't even notice she was there. It's a gift of hers and one that is much appreciated if you've ever been to a wedding where you feel like you're surrounded by paparazzi. On top of it, if our engagement session is any indicator, I have no doubt that she captured a bajillion awesome moments in our day.
4. We didn't have a "private session" because Victoria is so awesome it didn't occur to me that we'd need to sit together in a room for 20 minutes for her to get good shots of the two of us together. She is laid back, easy going, and GETS HER JOB DONE without being pushy or in your face.
Victoria is a consumate professional whom I have recommended time and again to my friends since hiring her last fall. The fact that someone feels so intimidated by her to steal my identity and post a fake review is a testament to how INCREDIBLY talented she is. When we got our engagment pictures (and our wedding previews) back I was like, "Wait, who's this amazingly beautiful girl in all our pictures?" It was ME!!!! She has a real gift here and is giving it away at a bargain price because she truly enjoys what she does.
I can not recommend Victoria more. Now if only yelp was as professional as Victoria and would step up and remove my impostors review this world would be a better place... -

Oh my gosh. Well now that I'm done SOBBING as I look at the pictures from my wedding day, I came immediately over to Victoria's yelp page to say as many good things as I possibly can about Victoria.
She is friendly, and funny, and her pictures are...AMAZING.
She caught things on camera I didn't know happened. Little moments between family members and friends, and excited genuine hugs and happiness. A shared look between my husband's parents. A small touch. Goofy moments, like when I asked my dad to hold my bouquet for two seconds, and my dad, who NEVER hams it up, posed with it for her.
And the POSED pictures?!!? I am the least photogenic person in the world and I look like a freaking model. The wedding party pics are amazing. We look relaxed and happy, and so unlike we're being directed. My husband, who can barely keep his eyes open in family photos looks incredible.
Victoria! You are amazing. -

The best part of looking back at the photos from your wedding day is having the sheer emotion you felt reflected back in the pictures. Walking down the aisle was mostly a blur to me, trying to hold back tears and focus on getting through my vows; so to actually see what everyone else saw that day in the most beautiful of shots made me get teary all over again.
I have some mad love for Victoria Sprung, of Sprung Photo!! She was so great to work with, from the engagement pictures through the wedding day. And not only did she get all of the shots we wanted, for us, for family, etc., she got boatloads of amazing artsy, photo-journalist style ones too, which really allowed for this awesome documentation of the entire day. She spared no details on film!!! I can't sing her praises high enough - even my insanely particular hubby agreed. :)
I am still struggling to decide which prints I want to use for a photo album, because there are SO MANY I want to have!! Unlike some of the other photographers we shopped around for, there was no giant package commitment with SprungPhoto. We paid for a set hourly rate, without any pressure of pre-ordering any of the prints. Plus, we received our own copy of all the digital prints a short time after the wedding, with some great touch-ups and enhancements on her part. Even better is that any of our friends and family can check out the password protected web album from the day online, and order any prints they want as well directly from the website. And for a fraction of the price of most photographers out there, this was one of our best wedding investments. -
Review from Kyle H.
First introduced to Victoria during the Yelp IL Covo Event I noticed her ability to unobtrusively get candid shots of Yelpers talking and drinking (really?) and also getting great posed up-close shots! The proof was in the pudding when I saw her online Gallery! She has years of experience shooting models, events, bands, weddings, and it shows.
So, when I was assigned the task at work to find a photographer for a corporate shoot, I didn't hesitate to contact her. I was almost embarrassed, because our shoot was going to be boring, two guys in suits shaking hands in front of a scrim. Victoria was the consummate professional, arriving early, bringing all needed equipment, she had the right ideas for the shoot as well, while taking our needs into account. She kept our President smiling through over 150 frames and was so easy to work with! The photos turned out great!
I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again for my next event, wedding, etc.! -
Review from Unity O.
She is the master of the candid photo! I barely noticed her wandering around snapping photos--which I think is an mark of an excellent photographer. Trust me, I am one of those people who are very aware of where a camera is!
From her website you can see how much experience she has & how much care goes into the photos. Definitely going to keep her in mind for events in the future. -

Picking a wedding photographer is hard, even with Google and myriad wedding websites. I found Victoria through a recommendation on Yelp, and as usual, my fellow Yelpers did not steer me wrong.
Victoria was completely professional throughout the entire process - prompt, nice, and did I mention that she takes awesome pictures? I hate having my picture taken because I am one of the most unphotogenic people EVER, but she somehow managed to make me (and everyone else) look fabulous. She had some fun ideas for shots, and she took a bunch of great photos while managing to be completely unobtrusive.
On top of all that, her fee was beyond reasonable, especially considering that it includes ownership of the digital files.
Two thumbs way, way up. I'd recommend Victoria in a heartbeat.Listed in: The Big Day..........By Which…

I guess things went okay with Victoria. I did like that family could see the pictures online, and I did like receiving digital copies of all the photos. My partner and I are into photoshop and graphic design so it was fun to play with the photos on our own. The price was definitely right!
We live out of state and communicated with Victoria by phone and email and finally met her 2 days before the wedding when she took our engagement shots. It was nice to talk with her and those shots came out great. The wedding day was a little hectic on our end and we were running quite late so we did end up changing where we took family shots before the ceremony. Victoria was very understanding and flexible about meeting us there.
A lot of the shots came out looking the same, and we received little posing direction from her, so we have one shot that looks like American Gothic that was really quite unflattering. Great shots of the venue, and the tables and decorations. We did ask for not so posed (more candid) shots and for the most part that's what we got. We had 30 people total at our wedding and I have NO pictures of 10 of them, which was kind of sad. I even specifically asked for pictures of all guests. She did keep asking if we had any shots in mind, but I don't have a lot of experience with weddings, and didn't really know what I guess I should have asked for. I don't know what looks good in a wedding dress. A little direction would have been nice.
And then the after. I did not get all the photos until almost 2 months after the wedding. I understood that there were extenuating circumstances, but the responses I got were more reactive than proactive. It was around the holidays and it was really too bad I didn't have anything to show family at all those family events. It was pretty frustrating, but I did eventually get everything as promised.
Overall, I do like her shots on her galleries (just not a lot of mine), she was friendly, on time, and completed the job.Comment from Victoria S. of Victoria Sprung Photography 4/21/2010

After looking around for a photographer we we're blown away with Victoria's online photo's. She did are engagement photo's and they turned out so good that we used them for are save the dates. She was so friendly and made us feel comfortable with her. She thought out side the box when taking photos and on the day of the wedding she was very professional. We just got the photos back and we couldn't be happier. Without a doubt this was one of the best moves we made for are wedding. God Bless Victoria!!!!

Not blowing smoke up anyone's ass, Victoria Sprung is quite honestly one of the best and most naturally talented photographers I've ever come across. She takes great pride in her work and it really shows through in the care and love she puts into it.

Victoria is amazing, she has a real talent for what she does and capturing the best photos. I have worked with her twice now, once for our engagement photos and then recently for a boudior shoot. I never thought I could look that good, I truly can't wait for another opportunity to work with her. I highly recommened her for anyone looking for an amazing photographer, who makes the process as easy as possible.

We love Victoria's work! She did our wedding photography in July and made our albums which all look beautiful. She is an amazing photographer and all the reviews are spot-on - we don't remember seeing her at the wedding at all -she is so inconspicuous - and she takes ammmaaaazing photos! They have a cool urban feel, make you look great, and that saying alot as we are totally not photogenic. She is professional, has reasonable price points, and is truly passionate about her work. I would definitely recommend her to friends in a heartbeat. We found her on Yelp, too, so thanks Yelpers!

Review from Teri Y.
Victoria is everything awesome and so I only have good things to say about her.
She had been a pleasure to work with from the time we initiated contact. At our initial meeting at her home studio, my husband and I talked about some of our wedding day details with her. As the bride, it was very important to me to have photojournalistic pictures captured at my wedding. I wanted the majority of my wedding photos to "capture the moment" instead of having most photos that are posed for. From looking at Victoria's online gallery, my husband and I knew that we wanted Victoria as our wedding photographer.
Few months before the wedding, we did our engagement shoot with her. Victoria has an eye for what makes a good shot. While we picked out the specific locations of where we wanted to have our engagement shoot, she noticed and pointed out tiny details from those chosen locations that would make a nice background in the shots. Having our engagement shoot with Victoria was a brilliant idea as we and her got to have a feel of each other before the wedding.
On the wedding day, Victoria came to my residence to get pics of me and my bridesmaids getting ready. She worked quietly by herself and snapped away at pics of us getting ready and my bridesmaids barely noticed her snapping away in the background. It was almost like she wasn't there-- my idea of perfect photojournalism. It's when people don't realize the photographer is there while the photographer is snapping away that really "captures the moment". Even at the ceremony and reception, Victoria doesn't come right up to your face. She isn't obstructive and yet manages to capture key moments. I've seen other photographers capturing pictures at the expense of obstructing the view of key moments from wedding guests but Victoria doesn't do that at all. At our bridal party shoot, we posed for many shots and Victoria was very patient in suggesting to us different ways for her to capture the bridal party.
My husband told her that we're having a second wedding celebration in Asia and asked if she could send us a few preliminary photos from the wedding day so we could use it for our slideshow at the second celebration. Five days after our wedding, she sent us several key moment photos. They turned out fantastic and I can't wait to see the rest of our wedding photos!!!
My husband and I look forward to working with Victoria again for any future special events.Listed in: Married!

I was not impressed. She was not very responsive to my requests to schedule an appointment with her, which understandably was because she was busy. I had a tight deadline but agreed to hold off my decision on my wedding photographer until she could finally meet with me. She thanked me for my patience and told me upfront she was available on my wedding day, so I thought it would be worthwhile to wait to meet her. After waiting a couple of weeks, and immediately before our meeting, she told me she was booked for our date, contrary to her initial promise that she was available. I wish she had been more honest about her availability on that date and not pushed me off until she got her other deposit. I would have not waited and focused my energy on finding someone else.

My wife and I have been working on our wedding album....which means sifting through the 1500 photos Victoria took on our special day.
What she delivered to us was exactly what we wanted. The photos are amazing and are the perfect blend of journalistic style and portrait that we asked for.
This review is long overdue. We were extremely happy with her work, professionalism, and timely delivery of her product. We have had MANY people comment on how well our wedding photos turned out. I would definitely recommend Victoria to anyone looking for a great photographer that wont intrude. She documents the day, but isnt in the middle of it.
My only recommendation to anyone (this applies for all photographers) is that you should have a list of must have photos that the photographer can cross off as the day goes on. We had over 300+ at our wedding and realized as we are making the album that we do not have a photo of us with the Bride's parents (just the four of us....we have a ton with them in it) I do not blame Victoria for this....we should have been better prepared and given her a list of pictures we wanted to make sure were snapped! -

I wish I could say Victoria was shooting my wedding, but I was too late - she was already booked and I was, unfortunately, unsurprised. If your looking for a wedding (or other) photographer, do yourself a favor and look at her pictures. One word: amazing. She captures these moments that are so perfect, you'd think it was staged and yet you know it isn't. And it doesn't stop there, while talking w Victoria about possible dates and this and that, she was super easy going and so much help! Oh and um... her pricing? You'd think it was too good to be true (and after looking around at other photographers, what they offer/don't offer, she knocks everyone else out)
Too bad for me, but great for whoever else snagged her. :) -

I was determined to hire wedding vendors that made me feel relaxed and stress free from our first meeting- and Victoria definitely fit the bill. She seemed to understand exactly what type of tone we wanted in our wedding photos from our first conversation and she absolutely delivered some amazing moments. We are so happy with our portfolio, tho I have no idea how she accomplished all that she did being as completely invisible as she was at our wedding! We worked with Victoria for our engagement shots- wow- our marathon wedding shoot - double wow- and now we are having her do our wedding album. Overall, we have a beautiful collection of photos that we got in a very short time, at a great price, from a very sweet and professional photographer. You will not regret hiring Victoria for a moment. A PLUS!!!

We chose Victoria to photograph our wedding and were so glad we did. I knew just from looking at her blog that she was the person I wanted to take our photos and I booked her literally as soon as I knew the date. Our photos turned out amazing and Victoria was such a pleasure to work with every step of the way. We didn't make it easy on her in terms of the amount of time we had to take portraits and our venue which was pretty dark and had a bunch of different rooms so I was shocked and delighted when she sent us our photos which were gorgeous beyond my wildest imagination. Victoria took shots absolutely everywhere and of everyone, especially us and our closest family members. I have no idea who she managed to be everywhere that night and yet so unobtrusive I don't think anyone really even saw her - which is probably how she got such great candids. If you take a look at her work you'll see that she has her own style and point of view when it comes to how she captures a wedding. So if you like what you see on her website, book her fast because I think she gets booked several months in advance for every weekend during the wedding season. You won't regret it.

We had a wonderful experience with Victoria. She is very professional, and she does a great job of capturing moments/people without getting in their face or making them feel uncomfortable. We used her for both our engagement photos and our wedding. She was willing to travel almost 70 miles south of Chicago for our wedding, and she did a great job of putting everyone at ease and making us look "comfortable" outside in 40 degree weather in March! She also sent us all of our photos very quickly aftwerwards, and she does a great job editing. One huge perk is that she give you full rights to ALL of your hi-def photos for no extra cost! Most other photographers we inquired into charge around $500 for the same rights to the photos. I would definitely recommend Victoria and would use her again! In fact, my cousin is also using her at her upcoming wedding after seeing our beautiful engagement photos!
