Are you kidding me....
How in the Hell am I supposed to eat all that food....?
Thats what i asked myself after walking in and having bigger eyes than tummy....shall I order 1 or 2....hmmmm....I might regret it if I only order 1.....Ok make it 2....I order mine with grilled onions, bacon and cheese....they are amazing...yummy...and snappy....but my God....I couldn't even finish 1.....I just stared down at the second with a bit of shame on my face....then remembered my Chihuahuas were in the car and would be happy to help me out....
My only regret is that I didnt have room for 2 hotdogs...they were delicious
When I first moved to LA a little over a month ago, I went to Fab Hot Dogs and gave them 5 stars...
Then I came here.
Vicious Dogs makes Fab Hot Dogs look like a 3-star operation!!!!!
The hot dogs here at Vicious are creative and all of them delicious.
My boyfriend, roommate and I have been here at least once a week for the past month... At least!
They have specials like the Spicy Pappy, bacon wrapped jalapeno cheddar dog w/ chipotle sauce, or the Spicy Patrick, an Italian link with a cheesesteak on top!!!
And if a meat-bonanza isn't your thing, their vegetarian dogs are out of this world. My personal favorite is the Veggie Dog #5, onions and peppers, chipotle sauce, french fries in the roll... It blows my mind every time by its deliciousness.
Not only is their food delicious, their service is always phenomenal. Some days when they are busy you may have to wait a bit, but the wait is NEVER a problem for us because we know the quality we are getting. Just today while we were waiting, someones order was wrong... The man who ordered said, "Oh, that's okay..." to which the employee responded, "No it's not." and fixed it. Yeah!!! I love that!
This place is incredible, the prices are great, and I'm so so happy it is only a mile from our house.

This place has one word to describe them! AWESOME!
We came here about an hour before they closed and we were welcomed by who I will assume is the owner!! Friendly and a very funny guy! He welcomed us in and gave us some tips of what to order and even gave us a little sample of some meat!
He told us about two items that weren't on any of their printed menus: the St. Patrick and the spicy pappy! Both were awesome!!
We also got to try the New York hot dog which was a polish sausage!
I thought the best one was the spicy pappy! Their chipotle sauce?! mmmmm to die for! It made me eat the dog so fast I had to make myself slow down so I could enjoy it!!
We also got a side of potato salad.. pretty good. Also a side of onion rings! MMmmm delicious! Also a side of seasoned chili cheese fries!! I had one bite but it was pretty good!
After ordering all our food, the guy told us he doesn't think we should order anymore cause we ordered a lot! So we took his advice! And sure glad we did!!! We had three people and omg, we were so full!!!
The owner (I presume) checked up on us and asked us how our experience was... PERFECT!
He left for a bit and then when he came back, the girl from next door (Cupcake Central) came over with 2 cupcakes on the house for us!!! Talk about a great night!!!
My experience here was great! Great people and great food!!

Oh Yelp Father, it's been 10 days since my last Yelp review. It's getting harder and harder everyday to get out of my writer's rut (and laziness) to write a review. However, I must say that if I don't write a review about Vicious Dogs, I probably would never forgive myself. The place just deserves great praise. I found this place with the GPS on my new handy dandy iPhone, which allows you to search on Yelp for restaurants near your current GPS location. Well, one day, after going through all the normal Studio City lunch options with my coworker and realizing that we were sick and tired of being sick and tired of the same food for lunch over and over again, I pulled out the iPhone, otherwise known as my current iObsession. And what do you think we found in Noho and both happen to adore: HOT DOGS!
To hell with Carney's I say!! The ambiance, the owner, the food of Vicious Dogs was mad wicked--in the Boston sense of the word. The owner of the place is probably THE most enthusiastic and spunky owner of a food joint that I've seen to date. He loves his restaurant, he loves the food he makes, he loves his customers. He seems really "east coasty", which is just what I want in someone serving me hot dogs and sausages. If you ask his opinion about what to get, he'll tell you EVERYTHING is good because I really think he does love everything he serves. And he makes sure that you like it too!! We asked him if he had pastrami and he said he took it off the menu because it wasn't good enough for him and that pastrami would make it's return once he found pastrami he was truly happy with. Right on!
I ended up getting the Doggy Wraps, which was a pretty unique concoction consisting of two crispy grilled hotdogs wrapped in bacon, lathered (or is it slathered? Either way they both sound creepy) in chipotle sauce (yum!!) and all wrapped in a tortilla. WTF is that??! Seriously, but it was sooo good. Who knew! My coworker ordered the Italian Beef Dog, which basically looked like a hot dog and a philly cheese steak sandwich in one. And lemme tell you--my coworker is the effin' Eeyore of food. No food excites this kid. He doesn't like fruit, he doesn't like dessert, he doesn't like anything. NOTHING. The sad trumpet sound follows him around when he eats. But if you saw his reaction to his hot dog, you would come to Vicious Dogs lickety split. They also have Chicago dogs, NY dogs, LA dirty dogs, veggie dogs, and on and on. On top of that, we ordered seasoned cheese fries, which added a nice touch to the meal. The fries were a tad dry so I had to wash it down with one of their nice selection of bottled fruit sodas. And I LOVE when places have bottled fruit sodas--I don't care what kind--Jones, Gus, whatever. It's like an automatic star for me. The ones here were a brand I'd never heard of, but refreshing nonetheless. Check the place out! You may have to come to Noho, but at least you get to cross multi-colored crosswalks--right? Uh, yeah, money well spent, City of LA. Just look for the big hot dog out front, hard to miss.

More proof that the valley's got the market cornered on some seriously hot hot dogs. Aside from being one of the cooler doggy joints you'll find in the land, their wieners are just plain good!
These guys are passionate about their dogs and it shows. The Chicago dog here is where it's at, but there's a menu loaded with more options than you can shake your wienie at, including a sweet and spicy kielbasa that's just about perfect. With a side of their seasoned fries, you're on the express line to hog heaven.
Only drawback? They're in the valley... and I'm not!

The Sweet & Spicy Kielbasa is amazing. The seasoned cheese fries were a little bland and the fries were thicker than I would have preferred (it looked like the non-seasoned fries were skinnier), but the hot dog more than made up for it.
Lots of sauces and seasonings, which I love.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
This place is a gem.

Doggy wraps and Chicago dogs here are very very delicious, I recommend this place to all hot dog lovers.
Most foodies will agree that this place is awesome!
I met the owner and the guys is so full of energy. He is so proud of his place.
I ordered the Sweet and Spicy kielbasa! I only intended to order one dog but I ended having a Spicy Pappy and Chicago ( I only ate half of each). It was so good! It's the Vienna hot dog that makes the difference.
Try it, you will love it!
I used to work down the street from Vicious Dogs and oh, how I miss it.
I am more of a hot dog purist (read = boring ketchup and mustard-type gal) but because the guys behind the counter are adamant and care about what they are serving, I felt compelled to break outside my plain hot dog in a poppy seed bun box and get a little variety. (Example? The pineapple sausage, sounds weird but tastes GREAT!)
The onion rings and seasoned fries are super tasty and come in portion sizes that are great for sharing. And the guys behind the counter are always friendly and funny.
My only issue is not being able to go there more often now that I am not close by! I now live vicariously through my friends and old co-workers on facebook . So when their status update says "Going to Vicious Dogs for lunch!" I feel a little jealous and curse them under my breath.
bacon wrapped hot dog with jalapenos INSIDE.
bratwurst
chicago dogs
polish sausage stuffed with all kinds of good.
way better than pinks, and with no stupid line.
food this good makes being fat worthwhile.

This is my 'round the corner hot dog stand. I'm a huge fan of the Chicago Dog, but the selection goes well beyond that with a variety of options. I had the pineapple sausage which was great, among others.
The prices are just a tad higher than I would like, so perhaps if I could I'd give this place 4 1/2 stars. Regardless, it's a dog-lovers paradise.

I went to the counter and asked if they had Yorkie's or Maltese dogs. Then the girl gave me a funny look. Then I told her I am Asian.
It's a hot dog
It was grilled
No topping this time
Friendly Service - makes a difference
Lots of condiments

Best hot dog I've had in LA thus far. This is one of those situations where Yelp really needs a half star system. Vicious Dogs is a solid 4.5... I don't like to over rate, so I had to go with the 4. The sweet and spicy kielbasa is a must try.
Willy (The owner) is a master craftsman of hot dogs, not just a guy who opened a hot dog shop because he thought he could make money - this guy loves cooking and he loves hot dogs! This results in Vicious Dogs having all kinds of special hot dogs you won't find anywhere else. Willy tests and develops these fantasy flavor combinations that will send your tastebuds into a euphoric state and will make all other hot dogs seem laaaaaaame.
Try the Sweet n Spicy Kielbasa, the Chicago, or the Garlic Link "Willy Style". Any of the above are amazing. The Sweet n Spicy is just a strange and awesome combination, the Chicago is one of the best in LA, and the Garlic Link Willy Style is unbelievable. In fact, try almost anything on the menu, but those 3 stick out as really amazing ones.
Or if you want the real deal, his newest special (at the time of this post) is the SPICY PAPPY. It's an amazing jalapeno stuffed hot dog with a homemade chipotle sauce and grilled onions. He's selling out of these like crazy because it's that damned good - on Saturday, every single person in the shop was eating a Spicy Pappy, no joke. I had one the other day and I had to order a 2nd one because sometimes one Spicy Pappy just isn't enough.
The sides are all great, especially the seasoned fries and the onion rings, but I rarely order those now because they take up room in my stomach that can be used for hot dogs. I've had up to 4 dogs at one sitting, because I can't stop myself, but I'm not ashamed (although it does leave me at work in a meat coma state).
Street parking with meters is nearby - bring quarters. The place inside is small with just a few tables, but it's worth it. Usually there's at least some sort of line during lunch cause everyone loves good hot dogs.
I end up going to this joint usually once a week for dogs, because they're that good and Willy is a good guy. Do order a specialty dog and don't insult the man by ordering a "regular" hot dog. I'm sure his regular dogs are good, but I've never bothered to order one. Thanks Willy for making the best hot dogs in the history of the universe.
This place is awesome. I used to live within walking distance, but even now that I'm in Studio City and have to drive to NoHo I'm a regular. If you're from Chicago, you must give this place a try. It's not just the food, the owner is awesome. He makes me feel at home.
Hey.
hey.
HEY!!!!!
I am talking to you, my fellow vegetarians!!
Last week I stopped by, and I ordered the veggie dog with the peppers and onions.
Good god man.
It was the most juiciest, tastiest, delectable dog that has ever passed through my lips. I ordered the cole slaw, and that was sort of fishy tasting.
But the dog; brilliant. I was just at Chavez Ravine, and their veggie Dodger dog was mediocre to the max. I was complaining; it was nice to be able to eat something at the game.
But seriously, you should come here for yer veggie dog fix.

The owner... a super cool kat who knows his food........ ok, the dogs are the bomb!...... The "Sweet & Spicy Kielbasa" mad sick! and the "Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings...... Holy Moly.... Have Mercy!!!!!
Can't stop coming back for more and more.
This place is super cute and fun for a quick bite. The owner is very outgoing and energetic and makes you feel really special for coming in... the place has a great "independent" feel and the dogs are good. A little on the pricey side in my opionion but yummy. I like that the owner has flyers and stuff up on this walls and tables about local talent, shows etc. You defintely get the feel he cares about the neighborhood.
I was on Lankershim Blvd for a meeting with a friend who was a little hungry and was figuring to just get a snack. I ate lunch already so I just came with him for company. We noticed a hot dog place. He and I wasnt sure if we should try it. I havent been to much hot dog places besides Pinks, Costcos hots dog and Wienerschnitzels. So we went in and the owner, Will, told us to try their special sweet and spicy hot dog.
He sold us on it and it did look delicious so we got just one to share.
One bite and Oh It Was Good!! It was juicy and the dog is a Vienna All Beef Hotdog. The bun had poppy seeds on it. It was a culinary delight.
I would say one of the best dogs I've ate so far. Im looking forward to trying their other hot dogs which they have a pretty good selection.

Had the italian beef hotdog. I forget. Polish sausage, mozzarella cheese, peppers, topped with roast beef. Maybe something else. It was one of the best polish sausages I've had in a long time. Juicy and flavorful, and the condiments accented the polish instead of overwhelming it.
It's a smidgen pricey at $5.99 for it. Cole slaw and an iced tea for a buck-fiddy for each wasn't bad, so the overall value at just under $10 for a meal this good isn't bad.
I can imagine my taste buds overwhelming my brain and giving this place five stars (and a sixth if they could!), but man, at $10 and for only so-so cole slaw and whatnot... nah. I just can't do it, tasty as it is.
Maybe I was there on an "off" day for Vicious Dogs... I'm sad to report I was disappointed in my dog...
I ordered a bacon wrapped hot dog in which both the bacon and the hot dog were kinda overcooked and shriveled.. and NOT in the good sort of shriveled way but the "been on the roller at 7-Eleven for about 9 hours now" sort of way.. hmmn...
Strangely the dog was made to order fresh but maybe just cooked too long? The bun was decent though, not shriveled in the least and soft as it should be.
M order the Chicago Dog and he too, wasn't blown away although truthfully, he is NOT the biggest hot dog fanatic.
We ordered the chili fries, just okay - M wouldn't eat them after 2 bites so I had some forkfuls and then trashed the majority. And I don't like to waste food!
I was also a little taken aback by :
a.) the music that was playing very loudly - bad radio station - just seemed wrong for Vicious Dogs. I guess with that name and the logo, I was expecting something different...
b.) general vibe of the place. I felt like I was intruding or interrupting to order my food... i like to at least be greeted with hello - not silence while I order...
Again, maybe the staff was having an off day but not great dogs mixed with indifference doesn't make me want to run back... And I'd been wanting to try it for over a year...
I've read the general reviews and the consensus is that this place is the bomb... I'll have to stick firm with my Carney's alliance or even COSTCO... oh well...

Why we crave this each week? because its not only delicious but incredible customer service! Willie (the owner, who is also there everyday) always makes you feel like you are VIP whenever you come in.. Feels more personal rather than a script, whereas some places you go you actually see an instructional sheet for the employees taped up on the wall of what to say to customers when they walk in, i.e. "Welcome to so-n-so, or Thank you for coming" etc.. To be honest he's of the main reasons me and my boyfriend come back all the time.. Even if the food was PRICEY (which is not) -we'd still come back out of appreciation for the service we receive. While Willie shoots small talk with my bf about the Lakers, I'm looking at the menu and tryin to decide if i want a dog or wings...both are awesome...Kraut bacon wrapped Dog with grilled onions and peppers, topped off with more fresh onions and mustard for me, and simple bacon wrapped with grilled onions, fresh onions and ketchup for him..a side of their super tasty beer battered onion rings (and i'm talking fat thick onions with a delicious batter) and occasionally if we're super hungry, we'll add on an order of Sweet and Spicy wings which are an explosion of flavor and come out to u piping hot! ALL that food we both eat come to about $13 for the both of us...a very filling dinner with good variety...u guys best all give Vicious a try, telling u, if you don't like Kraut (which many don't) they got many other different creations there they whip up..they also offer half sizes for most of their items, and don't get me started on the super soft buns... HAHA! brb, i talked myself into going to Vicious dogs rite now writing this review...See ya
So I went here because they supposedly served poutine (french fries + gravy + cheese curds) and I had a hankerin' for the best thing Quebec has ever given us. Well, they don't serve poutine any more. I asked if that was because nobody ever bought it and the girl behind the counter said "Uhh, I guess we weren't making it right or something." Come on! Take a chance. So disappointment right off the bat.
I had to settle for the slaw dog, which was pretty good and reasonably priced. There was a group of annoying teenyboppers and their enabler parents there too, luckily my order was to go. Overall the food's decent and the price is right. It's not far from the metro so if you're looking for a quick bite it's very walkable and definitely better than the dude with the hot dog cart by the metro entrance (never tried them but don't think I need to.)
I was invited here and turned it down because I'm a vegetarian, and what the hell am I going to eat at a hot dog place? Well, it turns out a delicious veggie dog Chicago style. The dog was very tasty, and I liked the vibe of the place overall, except for the guy (not the owner) working there, who, while not openly rude, was really gruff and kind of prickish. But I won't dock them for that guy.
Solid place.

This place is great! Great food, great service, and great environment! No A/C though and gets pretty warm.
The best hot dogs around Los Angeles, period.
The owner is extremely nice and usually will welcome you and/or chat with you after you walk in.
Don't get a hot dog with ketchup on it, go for a real specialty dog. The New York and Chicago Style hot dogs are my favorites, and the Sweet and Spicy Kielbasa is great too. The poppyseed buns the dogs are served on are up there with some of the best buns I've ever had.
The seasoned fries are fantastic as well and the half portion is generous.
Slightly more expensive than I would like, but hey, this is the best hot dog in the city.
This place is definitely worth checking out. They have a pretty large menu for you to choose from. I had just a basic Chicago dog, and it was the best hot dog I've found in LA so far. The owner is very helpful, friendly and keeps you moderately entertained while you wait for you dog to be made. The location is very good as well. I like the fact that it's close to a cupcake shop just in case you want something sweet after your delicious hot dog!

Yum! The sweet and spicy kielbasa dog was great. The fries were also very good, thick and seasoned to perfection.
Four stars because the service was not as fast as it could have been, and parking is street/meter only as far as I can tell, which is one of my restaurant-related pet peeves.
Sweet and spicy charbroiled kielbasa in a poppy seed bun. Someone should figure out how to turn the kielbasa's ingredients into just as catchy a song as the Big Mac has. The thing about this dog, is that its really really good and seems to have become Vicious' flagship wiener. You read right: flagship wiener. Its got tangy sweet sauce, and finely chopped onions and peppers on a plump charbroiled sausage. Some people don't go for the charbroiled stuff because of the unnatural crunch and cancer the scorching causes but I think its delicious. A little burn on the outside of a dog doesn't bother me. If its not for you, you can order it boiled or grilled, so says the menu.
I've also had a few chicago dogs, bacon wrapped dogs, a Louisiana hot link, bites of turkey and veggie dogs and can't resist the seasoned fries. Two dishes I particularly dug are the kielbasa plate - a lot of extra food for about the price of one of their sausages, and the Italian Beef topped hot dog - a very meaty meal in itself.
I haven't tried yet but will get around to the onion rings, chicken wings, Italian Beef sandwich, and corn dogs.
If you're in the neighborhood check it out and meet Willy - he's as friendly as people get. Willy makes coming to Vicious Dogs a pleasure even if you've already ate and are just hanging out.
It's everything you want in a hot dog joint minus one thing: late hours. Maybe someday, with enough success, Willy can get a night crew in there that won't mess up his dogs and keep the place going till 3.

OK, so I haven't been in here in a couple of months because I had one (dozen) too many cookies over the holidays and have been trying to repair the damage. But that doesn't mean I don't *think* about Vicious Dogs...
The hot dogs truly are great and worth going out of your way for, if you don't live in NoHo. The rolls are fresh, and the dogs are grilled perfectly. Follow the owner/cook's suggestion if you're not sure what to choose from the extensive menu. Try the chili fries, too -- although bring a friend with you. The order is huge.
The vibe here really is cool -- laid-back and social. Sit back, read the paper and wait a few minutes for your dog. The trip and the wait are worth it.

Stopped by after lots of recommendations last Saturday night.
Gf ordered the Sweet and Spicy Kielbasa and i had the chipotle stuffed hot link with grilled peppers onions and chipotle sauce. We also shared a half order of fries (more than enough for 2). Both dogs were really good lots of flavor and cooked well. the fries were really good as well especially with little extra seasoned salt.
The owner was really a nice guy. very welcoming and had a positive attitude though he looked very tired. We will definitely be back again.

I really hate to rain on the parade, but drove all the way here from OC because of the rave reviews~ Ordered the Chicago Dog($3.99), it wasn't anything special, the poppy seed bun wasn't grilled, the portion wasn't as generous like the other reviewers mentioned, and the dog was...burned...
Plus the guy at the counter(don't think he was the owner) was giving me a hard time for only ordering one hot dog, couldn't a girl get a break for trying not to look like a pig??

The owner is super friendly. I walked in and picked up a Chicago dog, a half order of the seasoned fries and a black cherry soda. Truly a good dog, really good fries, but I just like Spike's back in Boston a little bit more.
I will come back here to sample the Louisiana links and maybe the cheese fries. All in all really tasty.
The sweet and spicy kielbasa is a must for the first time visitor. It's not as good as Fab Hot Dogs, but it runs pretty darn close to best hot dog
place in LA. They do have a bigger variety on their menu than Fab Hot Dogs, items like buffalo wings and onion rings. A must visit for those disappointed by Pink's hot dogs. Alas, there are no hot dog place in LA
that's as good as Northern California's Top Dog.
The hot dogs at Vicious Dogs beat the overhyped hot dogs at Pink's any day of the week. Delicious hot dogs (poppy seed buns...mmmm), fantastic fries, and friendly owner. Makes the trip to North Hollywood totally worth it.
Being from Chicago I would have to say, Willy / Vicious Dogs is THE BEST place for hot dogs, links, chili cheese fries, oh my god! I'm so hungry. Why aren't you open on sundays?
I have brought many people there for the first time, and every time it becomes their immediate favorite spot. You got a winner here folks.
This is the place. Get over there asap. Pappy Dog!! OMG Italian Beef Dog, forgetaboutit!!!
Thanks Willy!
That crazy hot dog makin' monkeydunker is too crazy for my tastes. Yes - he'll put anything on your hot dog just short of sharpened screws ... but dude don't look at me like I'm some freak cuz I want mine grill with mustard and ketchup only. I might be a hot dog square but I don't need an elevator to get to the top of my lunch becuz you feel the need to load a hot dog with every ingredient on aisle 7 of the local How's.

Damn, I love this place!!
You know, I'm from Chicago and in Chicago we take our dogs very, very seriously. I mean you don't mess with Chicagoans and their soul food. It's down right sacrilegious and that means hands off the hot dog criticism*P
Saturday found me on a hot dog "crawl" through a bunch of neighborhoods, tasting different varieties of dogs to see how they rated. Vicious Dogs my friends, stood up to the hot dog test of time. Yummy, juicy and delicious, these babies are what this Chicago girl likes.
The place is modest by all restaurant standards. You certainly can't tell what you are in store for when you walk through the doors. I ordered a all beef "Chicago" style dog and a sweet pepper dog. Both were great. The sweet pepper one was a masterpiece I tell you. Let's put it this way, I'm going back there next week again just to get another one it was that good.
When I told the guy behind the counter we were doing a taste test he asked me "What for?" I just winked and smiled. At first I was a bit afraid. He looked a little tough around the edges but then I thought to myself. No worries, I'll be back. I think he got the message because he soon smiled back. I guess he knows what a great thing he's got and that, my friends, is something ya don't mess with.
