Loved the salami and sausage pizza, both very tasty. But the winner is definitely the Dante! It's amazing. Perfect crust and sauce, topped with prosuicutto, arugula, and thin slices of smoked cheese. Perfect match. But you can't go wrong with other pizza because it's their thin, a bit chewy and a bit crispy crust that makes it so delicious!

The prices are very reasonable. There were 5 of us and they sat us in a booth, which was cosy.

Reasons 1036 and 1037 why I want to move to Seattle:
#1036: People are FRIENDLY. I had the most amazing service while I was here. Our snappy server was just delightful and hilarious. Bully for you, miss.
#1037: THIS PLACE. The atmosphere is just great. Here is a classy pizza joint that's not too stifling. It's dark and mysterious, but everybody's having a good time. The food is awesome, too. I tried the four-cheese pizza. It's richer than Daddy Warbucks, but I couldn't stop eating it! I also had a simple pie with tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella. Delicious!
For dessert we tried the Nutella pizza. A whole pizza filled with Nutella and folded in half, with Nutella drizzled on top. Nom.
That's right. Just me and my date, we ate three whole pizzas from this place. What? Don't judge me. You try and resist. This biz is too good for words.

So, we were heading somewhere else for dinner when the aroma from this place wafted out onto the street and literally pulled us in.

The atmosphere is cozy and romantic...perfect for snuggling into on a cold rainy seattle night.

We ordered the anchovies (amazing) paired with an arugula salad and split the margherita pizza. delicious! we also ordered a $30 bottle of chianti (the cheapest on the menu...we aint no snobs). They were out of this wine,  so the server brought us a $60 bottle and only charged us $36!!

Great, friendly service, wonderful food and inviting atmosphere.
This might be my new regular place!

I've been here twice with the boyfriend and both times we've really enjoyed it.  The pizzas are pretty big, so we usually end up sharing a pizza and salad between the two of us.  I really like the inslata della casa with italian ham.  It's a great balance of healthy goodness and tasty delight.  Seriously, the salad's fabulous...especially with the ham...you can't go wrong with that, right?

In the past we've had the proscuttio e funghi, but tonight we had the quatro stagioni.  Both were fabulous.  I just love neapolitan thin crust pizza and could eat it all the time.  The boyfriend just loves pizza in general.  I've also had the Vesuvio calzone in the past and it's HUGE.  I thought it would be one pizza folded in half, right?  NO...it's two pizzas on top of each other....it was so big!!!!

I really like this place and love the ambiance and atmosphere of it as well.  Overall, I'm a fan!

ok I love Pizza, but I wasn't impressed by the pizza here. We ordered the Dante pizza, which I read on yelp was good before I went. Meh.
And our service was awful. If we weren't ready he's go away forever!
And we were a big group so he already got or 18% gratuity. Guess he didn't feel the need to be decent!

I gave two stars because I found parking easy and the decorations are pretty.
We did enjoy the clams off the apps menu. Way better than the pizza.
Although our friends seemed to enjoy their pizza. But we were all disgusted by the service. And we couldn't tell if our waiter's accent was real or fake, half the time I had no idea what he was saying.
Not that it's a bad thing to have an accent.

We also ordered the house wine (the wine menu is too complicated! they should make a translated one for us non-wine connoisseurs!) So I thought the house wine would be mediocre. Nope I would not recommend the house wine. bleh

If you are expecting American-style pizza (lot of cheese and toppings), this is not the place. I can only speak for the Fremont place, but this place transported me back to a small restaurant my wife stumbled upon in Florence with an American twist. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was warm and welcoming. We were greeted and treated like regulars from the moment we walked in.

The house wine was quite tasty. No, it was nothing spectacular, but it was drinkable.... come on we are talking about pizza, I don't need to spend a lot. I love the fact that they serve the wine in juice style glasses, not stemware. All of my favorite places in Italy served wine like this.

The arugula salad was simple, dressed with oil, lemon, salt and pepper. What more do you need; the flavors were perfect.

The pizza was exactly what I expected, minimal. My wife had a margarita pizza and I had the sausage and broccoli rape. The sauce was prefect. the crust was chewy, crisp, and burnt a little (not too much, just enough to add the flavor of the fire). As I ate it, I closed my eyes and I was back in Italy. This is no gourmet pizza, it's authentic pizza.

Our server was friendly and we talked about the great music playing in the background (Al Green). When we left, he told us to come back again. I said we would be back soon and often.

I love having Via Tribunali as my neighborhood staple. The pizza here is consistently delicious and perfectly prepared. The wines are bit on the expensive side which is why I tend to order take-out and drink at home. But dining here is fun too, with it's gothic decor and dim lighting. A true highlight of this place is the service. Everyone is relaxed and friendly, which makes the restaurant really feel like a neighborhood gem.

Amazing Pizza & Salads, great atmosphere, interesting Italian wine list.  Sad that a night out for pizza will cost about $40/person if you have a drink, but regardless the ingredients seem to be high quality and fresh.

I just got back from Italy recently and had been feeling all pizza'd out lately. However, when I heard this place made pizza in the same tradition that many great Italian cities do (i.e. Napoli) then I knew I had to try it! With the help of a StrangerMart Gift Certificate (what a deal!), we indulged! Two Pizzas, Foccacia Bread, one Salad and the delicious Nutella Calzone was WAAAAAY more than enough food for 3 people. I really think one pizza would cover two people, just a tip for those who are trying to save cash. A little pricey, but well worth it! Decor is beautiful, staff is attentive and food of course was so good.

My buddy and I went on a kick this summer where every weekend, after a long bike ride, hike, or other exhausting outdoor activity, we would head and get pizza somewhere.  Having tried a good cross section of pizzerias in Ballard, Fremont, and Cap Hill, I can unequivocally say this is my favorite pizza in the city.  Zayda Buddy's, for entirely different reasons, is my other favorite.  But for dang good Neapolitan style pizza cooked in a super hot pizza oven in under two minutes, great salads, wine, and a nice atmosphere, I come back here again and again.

When ordering take-out, don't make the mistake I made and phone it in.  The pizzas cook so fast that it'll be sitting there, cold, waiting for you by the time you get there.  Ideally the hostess would tell the cook to wait until I showed up before throwing the pizza in the oven.  Ah well, every place has a flaw.  The Fremont place also seems a little more closed-in than the airy, well-lit Belltown and Cap Hill versions, but sitting in the bar area is a nice experience.

I was totally surprised by this place. The neon sign out front made me think it would just be your standard pizzeria, but instead it was incredible, authentic Italian pizza with fancy decor at a totally reasonable price.

Vegetarian friendly, for sure.

Oh the dimmed romantic lights!  The cute little candles!  And that made me feel bad being the third wheel.   We ordered 2 pizzas for the three of us--

The Quattro Stagioni - ham, mushrooms, and salami.  I expected this to be like a Papa John's combo pizza where everything is spread evenly around the circumference of the pizza, except it wasn't because they split the pizza into four parts: 1/4 cheese, 1/4 mushrooms, 1/4 ham, 1/4 salami.  So what did we do when this pizza didn't meet our expectations?  We mixed it ourselves.

The Dante - prosciutto, arugula, cherry tomato, and thin slices of smoked mozzarella.  This was like eating a salad with a pizza crust and tomato dressing.  Except for the prosciutto that was baked into the cheese, the arugula, cherry tomatoes, and smoked mozzarellas all sat on top of the crust in a small heap.   It was very good because the Dante provided a nice contrast to the Quattro which was much heavier due to the grease from the meat.   The smoke mozzarella they use has a really strong flavor and that's how I like it.

The tiramisu here is to die for!  Very rich flavors of mascarpone cheese and coffee.  It was so good, I could make the tiramisu my main entrée.   Hence why I joked that we should have ordered two of these instead of the Quattro pizza.

Pizza = 3, Tiramisu = 5, Service/Atmosphere = 5, therefore Via Tribunali = 4.

I LOVE this place!  They use fresh mozzarella and put olive oil on the crust.  It's really yummy.  The crust is very thin, but it's so flavorful and soft!  I love sitting at the window in the Fremont location.  The people there are also really nice.

They should change the name to Via nummy!

In summer of 2007 I travelled with my parents to Italy for several weeks of glorious food, wonderful wine and amazing history. Since then my father and I have been haunted by regular cravings for foods, mainly pizza, that we can never seem to find the means to sate. Enter Via Tribunali.

We arrived shortly before they officially "open," but the door was open and they seated us promptly. We were greeted by our friendly waitress who was more than willing to offer suggestions. We each ordered a different type of pie, I asked for pizza scissors based on reading Katie S' review, and was she ever right about the need for those! This is a chewy crust folks, and the knife they give you ain't gonna cut it! (literally!) We all traded slices as we ate. Our waitress kept tabs on us, was quick to refill our water carafe when it was emptied and quick to clear the table, bring a bill and get us back on the road. We were thanked for coming in as we left and all of us felt great about the experience.

The decor and layout is questionably "authentic" it looks sort of like a monestery to me, but in a much cleaner way. It reminded me more of a church than of any restaurant I went to in Italy, but this is the States and what we think is authentic rarely is.

If you drive by too quickly, you might miss it. If you aren't prepared to spend a good 5-10 minutes looking for a parking place, you might grow restless, but the tiresome parking-hunt is well worth it. A helpful bit is that it's located right on the line for the #5 bus, PERFECT, I can bus it straight from my house and back and not have to worry about finding a silly ol' parking spot.

The same pie would run you 5 euro in Italy, so you're looking at more than twice the price for a smaller version of what you would receive in Italy, but still a fair value considering it's authentic Italian pizza found outside of Italy. My cravings are gone... for now. This is my new go-to for when those cravings seem to haunt me.

From what I hear this place is no where near as cool as the one on Cap Hill... I mean, just read any of the reviews and you'll know what I'm saying.  Not too mention the GF made sure I knew that this was the case the entire time we were there.  Well, I'll tell you the same damn thing I told her... I love the Fremont location and when I finally make up the Capitol Hill location I'm going to HATE it and tell everyone how its nowhere as cool as the Fremont location... So, THERE!  Neener, neener, neener you bunch of whiny little babies.

Anyhow, I think that they have some of the best pizza around... The GF says its some of the best pizza she's had outside of Italy.  How's that for an endorsement!

I really enjoyed everything about this place.  The staff was incredibly friendly, the pizza's superb, the salads were fresh and delicious.  If there was one thing I have to nitpick on, I'd say it would be the music.  It sucked ass... and some strange euro-pop cover song BS that had the GF just completely bewildered for the first 20 minutes we were there.

I will be back.

Dudes.  It's really an affront to the original installation of a successful brand like Via Tribunali to have an uneducated staff and poor, poor service.

Waiter wasn't very helpful with a wine suggestion (uh, we asked for a Chianti and he suggested something completely different).  Waited forever after we got our wine to order.  The salad came out quickly, but then waited again for the pizza, and when it arrived it was lukewarm.  Asked, just out of curiosity, if the meats in the antipasti platter were from Salumi and watched a game of "Telephone" commence as people tried to figure it out.

Pluses:  the tiramisu is delicious and the bartender is a babe.

Via Tribunali is a place you can quickly pass by if you are walking around on the street. It has an extremely understated facade that simply blends into the retail stores that surround it.

Its a good place to check out with a group and to try a bunch of different pizzas. They use good quality & fresh ingredients to make their pizza and you certainly taste the difference. I say it's good to go with friends so you can try a variety of pizza's, if not, its still a good place to go with just a friend.

As mentioned, the wine selection is affordable and offers a great variety that complement their menu options.

Service has been hit or miss for me when I've gone. I have really awesome service who knew their menu extraordinarily well and others who looked like it was their first day on the job. (thus the reason for the 3 stars).

I haven't been to the Queen Anne location yet, so this is a head-to-head comparison of the Fremont vs. Cap Hill Via Trib's.

Cap Hill with PROS (and cons):
+bustling, great energy (- always a wait)
+cool staff (- sometime too cool)
+great pizza & affordable wine selection (- no scissors, that I know of)

Fremont with PROS (and cons):
+easy to get a table (- not as much of a scene)
+very friendly staff (- no con to that)
+they have pizza scissors (- can't run with them, my mom sez)
+brand new (- paint smell. Wait is huffing paint fumes a pro or con?)

They have the same great pizza, nice staff and good wine.

Choose your own adventure - scene or no scene. It's a win-win situation and you're the winner.

Hooray for their new 'closer to my house' location!

It's been open for like... a week and we hadn't been in yet. Yes, call me a slacker. I'd heard that they were working on the space months ago. They did a good job with the joint. It looks great!

We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately at the Salumi table. We were promptly brought water and menus. Gotta like that. It's a nice space with lots of charm, much like the Capitol Hill location, although the paint smell still lingers. It's okay, they're new and soon, the smells of pizza will fill the air. No worries there. We then ordered a carafe of wine which showed up to our table only half full. Our waiter noticed this after I had poured a glass and said, "Wait, that's not a carafe.. I'll be right back," and he was.. with full carafe in hand. Awesome.

Our order consisted of a Insalata Della Casa (greens, tuna, olives, and reggiano) and two pies- the Funghi and the Tonno. The salad arrived about 5 minutes later and it was delightful- it was the perfect portion for sharing if you're not too hungry.

The pies came shortly after we were through with the salad. The Funghi was cooked to perfection with absolutely the right amount of cheese and mushrooms.. picture perfect. The Tonno was covered in arugula and looked fab as well. We started cutting in to the Tonno and were a few slices in when we realized that the portion we'd yet to eat was burnt. We weren't able to tell this at first, since it was covered in the leafy greens...

Our waiter swung by to ask if everything was okay and we showed him the pie and asked if we could just get a half, since we'd eaten the other. He was very understanding and gladly said he'd make another pie for us or he'd take it off the bill. We opted for the pie.. I never send stuff back to the kitchen and we came here to eat. It was definitely the right choice. A few minutes later, the golden brown pie arrived and it was delicious.

Oh, and fyi- ask for the pizza scissors here b/c the pies don't come sliced. They are a genius invention that will make your life (or your dining experience) a whole hell of a lot more enjoyable.

Reasonably priced.. great for a date. They really run a tight operation here. They bring you your meals at the right time and they don't make you feel rushed. We'll be back again soon, for sure... and when you're in, make sure you check out their bathroom- it's SUPER CUTE.

Returned last Saturday for a late dessert and some wine.  They were out of the tirimisu, so we had the tartuffo and some type of Nutella filled calzone with hazelnuts.  It was awesome.  the tartuffo was the perfect mix of coffee and sweet chocolate and nougat while the calzone was big enough to share for three people.

The service was awesome again and although they were closing up, we never felt rushed.  Our server Stephanie was still friendly even at the end of the shift and the host Mike was friendly as ever.  For this I give Via Tribunali (a la Fremont) one more star!

After passing by several times in the last week and noting it was still open during all the snow stuff, we finally stopped into Via Tribunali tonight.  We didn't even know about the other locations, so stand alone, this place rocks.  Matty the Manager was our waiter - very friendly and answered all of our questions about the opening, etc.

We sat at the overflow bar in the front window and had the Quattro Stagioni with Tomato, Mozz, Ham, Pepperoni and Artichoke Hearts. Light on the sauce which I like, all in all a very tasty, (though slightly greasy) pie, perfect size for 2.  House red (sangiovese) was wonderful, and my husband's Manhattan was "delicious" though steep at $8.50 a piece.

The fact that Tribunali is around the corner from our house is huge -- the food and wine is a great bonus.  I look forward to warmer weather as their big front windows open up to the street.  I bet they'll have outdoor seating as well.

We have been sampling European-style pizzas for awhile and we finally found a good one!  We had the buffalo mozzerella and the capricciosa pizzas.  The crust was very thin, the sauce tasty but not overpowering, and the distribution of the toppings (capricciosa) was thorough.  A knife (or pizza scissors as some suggested) is required -- I think it slows down the process, so you can enjoy it more!    We were impressed with our starter - the clams -- fresh tasting, flavorful and very warm; then came the salads.  We prefered my della casa salad to the arugula salad.  The wines were all Italian (which is OK, I suppose).  Timing and service was great.  We did not have room for the tiramisu, but will certainly order it next time.

We stopped in this past Friday night around 10:30 after a wine tasting at Cafe Geneve to feed our face and we were NOT disappointed!

Oh, Salsicca, how I love you. I even ate my portion of the pie cold due to a late Friday phone call from mom and it was STILL DELICIOUS. Not to mention, more prosecco. How can I resist teeny bottles of bubbly?

Fremont Tribunali, you've passed both the bar test and the food test. We're good to go! YAY for being in my neighborhood.

I have lived in Fremont for a while now and was I ever excited when I saw the blue pizzeria sign go up for this place. There wasn't a place that my husband and I really liked that was within walking distance, until now. If you are looking for American pizza, I don't think that this is really the place to go. It is one of the few places we've tried that has been similar to the pizza we got when we were in Italy. Very thin crust and fresh ingredients. The pizza was great, I have not been to many places that serve buffalo mozzarella and I am a huge fan so it was nice to see that on the pizza. We also ordered the Insalata Della Casa which had a HUGE portion of mozzarella cheese on top, I was in heaven.

The service was alright. Since it was shortly after it opened, I figured our server was relatively new. A couple of times she had to return to ask us what we ordered, but other than that she did a good job.

We'll be back.

People rave about the pizza but Via Tribunali either had an off night or I'm not a fan of their pizza.  The crust was ok, if you like chewy, soft pizza.  The amount and quality of toppings was disappointing.  There were only a few dots of mozzarella cheese.  The mushrooms seemed canned, and there weren't many of them.   The "prosciutto" was chunks of what seemed like regular ham.  The fresh tomato sauce was watery.  It wasn't a terrible pizza, but it sure as heck wasn't a $16 gourmet pizza either.

The atmosphere was great (rather dim lighting for one person in the party, but the waiter offered a small flashlight to read the menu!).  The server was very friendly and attentive.  The house red wine was OK.

I might go back for coffee and dessert, or an antipasto, to give them another chance.  Just no more pizza!

I really enjoyed my time eating pizza here, and I don't even enjoy pizza.  Ty[ically, anyways.  We ordered a margherita and another one that I forget the name of--it was topped with prosciutto and two kinds of cheeses.  Both were very tasty.  Along with our Italian salad--which had some nice spicy ham on top.  The Catholic art makes it feel so homey, and our server had a thick Italian accent.  I know that not everyone can have this aspect present in their establishment, but boy does it do wonders in the effort of conveying an authentic Italian restaurant.  I'll definitely be back to have some more of their nice, thin, fresh pizza!

It may be that the carafe of red I split with my dining companion has made my mind fuzzy but I remember the tiramisu as being delicious. Our server told us the tiramisu was imported. Not sure what she meant by that, all I know was it was good! I also had the caprese salad which seemed really fresh though quite under salted. Our server served the dish to me with a small bowl of salt so it seems they know the caprese needs improvement. Also split a calzone. I'm not a big fan of neapolitan pizza so the calzones and pizzas here just don't do it for me. They're not bad, just not the greatest pizzas ever.

However, I'll probably be visiting often since the location is super convenient for me to stumble home afterwards.
