yeah, i golf. so what?

well, i did the driving range, once.

i come here because it's close to my house. it's relatively cheap and it's a great few hours spent. Also, they have beer.

Do most other driving ranges have beer?

I certainly hope this place stays. I know the black hand of development is moving in. It's a cute pitch and putt which I've never played before, but it looks like a good place to learn the game or introduce it to someone. The prices are under $20 and I don't think they have carts at this facility. Seriously, I don' t think they need any.

The funnest thing about this place is the range. One will notice that it is a little run down. The netting on the left is slowly coming down and has open spots to it. Now the net protects golfers playing the second hole. But with the right shots, one can hit the green from the range. You will have to play a low punch shot though.

Next, the range is about 310 yards long. On the opposite end, some dude has his trailer parked up there. And sometimes I see the owner of the trailer just hang out there and watch golfers. I can hit a driver all the way out there given the right conditions. But I wouldn't, that's someone's home.

The  whole place...course and range are open at night due to floodlights they have there. Last, the course is easy to find, when driving west on the 210, you can see it on the north end of the freeway.

Developers have been coveting this place for years.  The current downturn in the real estate market and city council's refusal allow projects to go forward have saved it so far.

My friends and I have been coming here for 20 years.  Cheap fun.

And the place does a nice job of reaching out to the community.  There are children's golf programs, a local tournament, etc.  And for golf beginners, there is a driving range and putting greens.  As well as easy holes to play on.  And there are wild rabbits everywhere.

How can I be the first person to review this little gem that has been around forever ?

I am not a golfer, but their little 9 hole course looks great.  The fees are cheap and the staff is friendly.

The driving range is not intimidating at all and a good place to bring kids who want to whack at the ball.

The snack bar has pitchers of beer, half-way decent food, and lovely seating on picnic benches under the oak trees.

Come while you can.  They want to turn it into condos.

I love to golf there.  They actually have an 18 hole course which I have done fully multiple times.  It's a great place to go hang out, and golf!
