3 reviews for Veranda
Went to a soft opening at Veranda tonight. It's a great space with high ceilings, exposed brick, ambient lighting and a sexy little fireplace that used to be a pizza oven in it's former restaurant incarnation. The DJ was definitely a pro and played amazing house music all night. The staff was friendly and very attentive for a new venue, and I was happy to find a coat check when I arrived. The crowd was young and sophisticated, and both couples on dates and groups of friends seemed comfortable chatting and dancing. I think this place is going to blow up into a neighborhood classic. It's a already a fantastic spot to grab a sneaky drink, and I heard that it will be a restaurant/lounge combo once it's officially opened. It's too early to call but...good music, an attractive crowd, less pretentious than Bagatelle and more classy than Felix on Sunday nights...seems like my kind of place.
I went to the Veranda soft opening on Friday and was so impressed! I have been waiting for the old Sheridan Square space to be occupied, and what a pleasant surprise that it now houses the gorgeous new Veranda. The space is very well decorated with exposed brick, dim lighting, and Mediterranean decor. The drinks were excellent, and the staff was refreshingly friendly. I only had drinks, but I can't wait to try the dinner menu. I look forward to frequenting Veranda often!
I attended the soft opening of the new West Village hot spot, Veranda last night (Nov 13th) with a few girlfriends. Open bar was from 9 till 11pm but we stayed till 2am!!! Everything from the energy, ambiance, music, to cocktails and service was just right. It has a sexy Mediterranean vibe to it, from the exposed brick wall, dim lighting, house and hip-hop beats to the hookah lounge (in a separate room), this new restaurant/lounge is just what the West Village neighborhood needed. I was also informed by a handsome staff member that the restaurant will be open in a week serving Mediterranean cuisine. My friends and I look forward to dining and spending a few late nights at Veranda this winter!
