This comic book store in Ann Arbor has been on my pull list for ages (blame adulting!), but I finally got to drop by yesterday. Let me tell you, it was like walking into a superhero's origin story - clean, colorful, and bursting with potential. Plus, the staff were awesome, even while wrangling a confused shoplifter. (Hey, nobody said saving the day from evil was easy!)
Now, the shoplifter situation was a little...eccentric. This person wasn't exactly Lex Luthor mastermind material, more like a lost minion. But the staff handled it with more grace than I could muster. So yeah, major props to them!
In short, this store is a fantastic find for all your geeky needs. I highly recommend checking it out!

I'm surprised I've never written a review for this place - I've been here multiple times although I'm not sure if I've ever bought anything.

This place has a huge selection of comics, games, and other things. I like to go to their basement and browse their board games usually. They have a ton of games especially although they're usually $3-6 more than you'd see on Amazon.

They even have fun tshirts and other things for purchase like Japanese KitKats.

Overall I'm giving them 5 stars for their selection and huge assortment of games.

This is a really cool place to get books, comics, cookbooks, and figurines. We spent a little over an hour just browsing and we could have still stayed longer. Be careful not spending all your cash here--there is lots to see.

Long time patron of Vault of Midnight, so it surprises me to no end that I haven't written a review for this magnificent establishment yet! This place is nerd heaven and speaks to my soul in every way! I've gotten so many board games from here - that's my favorite part of this Ann Arbor location. The entire basement is basically wall to wall board games for you to peruse and read staff reviews of as well! They also offer a shelf with some used games that you could try out as well if you were curious, along with a ton of used comic books along one side of the wall as well downstairs.

Upstairs there are tons of new graphic novels and comics, cabinet displays with adorable figurines and rows upon rows of dice for all sorts of gameplay! Everything is well priced and their selection is truly second to none! I love stopping in here for gifts for friends, as there will be so many things here that you might not normally be able to find anywhere else. It's perfect for unique offerings and I always manage to snag a thing or two for myself as well. After all, I am a DND player so I can never have too many sets of dice...right?!

I'd like to pretend that I know something about comics, but outside of the really popular super hero and anime characters, I know as much as the next guy. I still wandered In here to browse.

The staff at the front door had masks for anyone who didn't already have one, which was very nice to see. In addition there was also hand sanitizer at the front entrance.

They're are two floors and the first floor is mainly for their comics, manga, plushies, and other collectibles. The basement is more dedicated for games. It was astounding seeing how well organized the store was as I've been inside a few comic book stores and they always look like they're in the middle of changing management or going out of business.

I ended up picking up one one item for myself and one for a friend. From friendly staff to a great selection of comics, Midnight Vault really has something for everyone.

Visiting for business and got to explore the downtown area of Ann Arbor. Looked up book and comic stores and I'm so glad I came across Vault of Midnight!

One of the most pleasant comic shop experiences I've had in a long time. Great, varied selections from just about any publisher you can think of. Great independents offerings.

The best part of it for me was their hardcover graphic novel offerings! Wow! So impressed. I could go broke shopping in this place, lol.

Headed back home, but when I'm back in Ann Arbor, I plan to return to the Vault. And I'll be a patron from afar through their website.

Comic and board game lovers rejoice! What an amazing treasure trove of comics, board games, and related paraphernalia. Perfect place to indulge in some graphic novels, discover your next game night centerpiece, or find your very own cute character plushie. Their basement selection includes some less common games--with a selection suitable for both board game novices and seasoned game enthusiasts.

Entering the store, the first floor is mostly dedicated to comic books of all genres. Shelves are lined with hard cover art books, Japanese manga, other international comics, to American Marvel and DC and beyond. Interspersed throughout are toys, models, and stuffed animals. Follow the signs downstairs and on the right along the wall are bins of comics organized by titles. The center and left are shelves lined with dozens and dozens of different board games. What a treat, I can't wait to come pick up a board game here!

Covid precautions: Thank you Vault of Midnight for requiring masks!!! There is a sign on the door and I also read your comments in the Ann Arbor Observer (Oct 2021 issue). Thanks for standing up for keeping your staff and the broader community safe, it's much appreciated.

Started my period but staff refused to let me use the restroom. Directed me to a business that seemingly doesn't even exist with instructions to "ignore people if they give you shit"
Glad I did not buy anything, don't want to support a business that won't even let you use the restroom in an emergency.

Quite simply, this place blew me away! The staff were really kind and helpful and the selection...wow! Best comic store I've been to and I had to drive nearly 3 hours to get here. Still worth it.

I've come here 2 separate times. The first time was to pick up a copy of JLA/Avengers (RIP George Perez) and the second time was with a few coworkers. This is a solid comic shop. There is more than enough from each genre (except maybe the Archie Digest's but I can understand that). I loved their omnibus selection aka I will be spending a lot of money here in the future. There is also a solid downstairs area that contains their back issues etc. I super recommend this place!
