I am a huge fan of open mic nights. I have found a few really good ones in the area and love attending them. I feel like a fangirl, hoping that my favourite performers will be there. I hope one day to see them on the stage so I can say, "I got to see them when they were small fries."
The Vault hosts a lot of events, including musical open mic nights. I still prefer Writers Block's open mic night (the first Wednesday of every month). I am shocked that the event is free, with how talented the poets are.
I have bought several books from one of the local poets (shout out to Winry Hagerty!!) who sells her work at the poetry event. The last time I went there were stickers from an artist, some leather works, books by poets for sale.
The atmosphere at The Vault during Open Mic Night is vibrant and supportive. The audience is engaged and respectful, providing an encouraging environment for the performers to shine.
It's worth noting that this event is not only entertaining but also affordable. It's free. If you're looking for an enjoyable and affordable evening filled with talent and creativity, make sure to check out The Vault's Open Mic Night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 118400459May 25, 2023
This place was so fun!! The entire wedding party came here after a wedding and it was a great time. The drinks were cheap, they have both an indoor and outdoor section. The outdoor spot was in a little ally, it was really cool. They had good music. The only thing was the bathroom was gross, but you also kind of expect that from this place.

This was one of my favorite places until this gentleman walked into the restroom while my girlfriend was using it. He claimed to be the manager and said it was her fault for not locking the door. Once I started filming him he took a swing at my phone and said he would f****** break it. He walked away and got security they said it was his last chance and understood why we were so upset. Customers shouldn't be treated like that especially when they feel like they have been violated

I always liked The Vault. One reason is because of the winding labyrinth-like alley out back evokes memories of medieval streets in France or Italy, just scaled down 99% or so. Cocktails here are the preferred drink and I suppose which bartender you score and how busy it is can play into the equation. Just don't ask for a fucking Mojito!
I'm not joking about that! They're a bitch to make and unless they specialize in Cuban cocktails (like Habana in Costa Mesa) you will probably be disappointed and have a pissed off bartender. Heed the sign out front: don't be a douche and order a Mojito! That said, this isn't on the same level as an LA whiskey bar, but $2 Tuesdays draws the younger college crowd. It gets packed quickly after 10pm so beware.
I visited The Vault recently after a long sabbatical with my youngest sister who is now 21 (yay). We had a couple of Moscow Mules ($3 for those) and enjoyed the brief time we had stools to sit on in the back alley. A pleasant but sticky evening, be aware the inside is not air conditioned. All-in-all, a great night and ok for the lowered priced drinks.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0 - Jim C.San Bernardino, CA216Nov 29, 2020
This place is STILL OPEN! Saw on here that it said it had closed down and got sad, but went by last night and they were open and I had a beer. The alley is a great open space for a drink during social distancing. Plenty of room.
Just wanted to post to let people know it's not closed.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amihan A.Union City, CA621200319Mar 9, 2019
I bought my friends 5 mixed drinks and the total came out to $35 plus tip. I bought three shots and it came out to $30 with tip. The drinks are dirt cheap but the only downside is how much ice they put in the drink. Literally. So. Much. Ice.
Decent outdoor bar. It can get a little cold but they have heaters to keep you warm. The music playing was suitable for a Friday night out with friends.
Also did not understand why there was only one bathroom. The line went down the stairs and was a long wait just to get in.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Stephanie S.Fairfax, VA442975Dec 26, 2017
The Vault is one of those unique places everyone wishes they had in their local bar scenes. This ultra cool venue holds rich artistic vibes that would give any musically inclined soul inspiration. The best part about the place in my book is the live music on Saturdays, and wicked good cocktails on any day.
The closed alley between buildings offers a perfect setting to host local bands and other acts. The little bit of seating offered in that area doesn't seem to faze onlookers. Only thing awkward about the setup is that the bathrooms are located right off the side of the stage area.
I can't recall the cocktails that my boyfriend and I got that night, but whatever the bartender recommended was on point. Sweet, fruity, and fun to look at. If I'm ever back in town on a Saturday, I'll definitely swing by for another good night of fun, drinks, and live music.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael A.Dallas, TX148227592May 7, 2018
I met up with some friends for a nightcap here at Vault Martini Bar & Grill.
The bartender who made my drink was very nice and made me a very good Martini.
I haven't had the food but would definitely recommend trying the Martini. They also had a few local beers on draft as well. I'd say that you can't really go wrong if your looking for a place to dive into for the night.
Enjoy,
