Our 3 year old garbage disposal started leaking recently. I turned to Yelp to find a plumber. Glad I picked Vaughan Plumbing and Heating.
Greg came to look at the garbage disposal and gave me an estimate. Turned out disposal was installed with 2 missing screws and was in a bad shape. We agreed on a date and time. Chris showed up to install it this morning. He did a really good job. We have a brand new non leaking disposal now. Just in time for the holidays...
I really liked dealing with Greg as he was available via email, text messages, phone. Both Greg and Chris showed up on time and did a fabulous job.
Highly recommend them. -

I contacted Vaughan Plumbing & Heating based upon these Yelp reviews to replace a faucet (so this was not an after-hours or emergency call -- it was a normal plumbing job). Greg arrived on time, was very courteous/professional, and did great work.
I'm giving 3 stars (vs. 4 or 5) for only one reason, but it's a major reason ... because I felt the price was really high, even for a licensed plumber. The job took 1 hour 40 minutes total, from Greg's arrival to departure, and it required no parts (I supplied literally every part). The price: $250. That's an hourly rate of $150/hour. [I seriously thought about saying "no" when he looked at me and gave me the price, because I knew it was a simple job, but I didn't want to deal with making another appointment with another plumber, and I was confident that he'd do good work based upon these Yelp reviews.]
SUMMARY: I'd definitely use Greg again, but only for an hourly rate of not more than $90/hour (plus parts, of course). That's the maximum rate all the other plumbers I've used have charged. So I'd suggest asking Greg for an hourly rate in advance, before he visits you. [And to show I'm not a cheapskate, I would've said "yes" even if there were a $150 minimum charge just to come out there -- I know plumbers aren't cheap!] Again, Greg did a great job, though! -

I have to admit, I'm really impressed with these guys.
Greg is such a nice guy, and is very easy to communicate with via email, which I love. Based on other quotes I received for the job, I think his prices are very fair.
Today, his guys put in a new hot water heater for us. We have a difficult venting situation, but Greg found a heater that would suit our needs. He called two days ago to confirm our appointment, his guys arrived on time (actually, early, but didn't ring our doorbell until the prearranged hour!), and were clean and tidy both working and finishing up the job.
I will absolutely call him back for our future plumbing needs, and recommend him to friends! :-) -

Great experience. Greg arrived within two hours of my call. He fixed a blocked drain and replaced a disposal -- careful, thorough work. Cleaned up the mess after each of the jobs was complete. Reasonable price. (we told them we would appreciate speedy service, but this was not an emergency. No extra charge for same day work during the week... only if the "emergency" is after hours.) Definitely 5 stars, I will use them again.

Not much more to add than the other reviewers. Greg gave an accurate quote, didn't try to upsell, did a quality job, arrived on time, and was full of useful information as well.
I don't know if his price was too high ($250 to install a high end faucet and soap dispenser, 2 people for 1.5 hours), but he seemed like a fair guy, so I didn't bother shopping around. -

I tried contacting this plumber 3 times over 2 weeks with no response. Every time I called I left a voice message.... I just needed a washer hookup installed. I'm really surprised given the reviews here in Yelp... but I think it's really unprofessional if you can't even respond to a potential customer.

I had what a thought was an emergency leak in my kitchen. Greg returned my call right away. When he arrived the leak was less serious than I thought and Greg fixed the problem easily.
I also had Greg out to do an estimate and his knowledge (and quote) was superior to any of the other plumbers who provided quotes.
Will definitely call again next time I need a reliable, knowledgeable and reasonable plumber. -

Just had an emergency plumbing situation arise at the condo.
I placed a call into the number on the site and the call was answered by a very helpful woman who advised she would forward my contact info on to Greg Vaughan.
15 minutes later, my phone rang and it was Greg advising that he would stop by my condo in 30 minutes, as he was currently between calls and had to be in the area later today.
My phone rang 30 minutes later and Greg had arrived. After analyzing the situation for 5 minutes, and after asking a few questions and assuring me of his familiarity with the building, he got to work.
30 minutes later the problem was solved.
Greg was professional, courteous, and helpful. -

I can not say enough how incredible this company or Greg Vaughan is! I tried desperately all Sunday evening and he was the only one to return my phone call. Then, he showed up at 7AM and I could not find the key to the place (rental). He came to my place and WAITED while I looked for my key. Still no key. I then called up later on to offer to pay for his services/time since our management company messed up and was going to send in their plumber and he declined! He said he did not provide any service. You do not get more honest and dependable than that! I would wholeheartedly recommend them, even without seeing his work.

Solid experience. The guy seemed nice and honest.
He quoted me a time but got there 15 minutes early. yup...he really did!
1 year warranty on the work makes me even more comfortable with the work. Thought he was a little pricey (based on my sister's experienced opnion) but I myself am new to home improvement costs.
(oy, and this is only the tip of the iceburg...) -

I called him for a second opinion when another plumber quoted me $6000 for a new hot water heater. Vaughan was great - showed up on a Saturday at precisely the scheduled time, and then again on Monday for the installation. Didn't ask for any money up front, but left me a bill, and charged me - are you ready -nearly $5000 less than the other guy quoted. They cleaned up the basement area nicely, too. I needed to get my gas dryer installed and MA law requires that it is done by a plumber. I really didn't know where to turn so I turned to Yelp...
A quick browse of the listings and I decided to give Greg a call. Be completely worked around my schedule to fix in the dryer (he lives in West Roxbury bit his business is based in Dedham).. He did the job quickly and at a fair rate. He was also friendly and very honest, and didn't mind giving me helpful hints (even though he could have made money if he kept his mouth shut.
I would HIGHLY recommend Greg - I know I'll be using him again. -

Vaughan Plumbing and heating recently completed an oil to natural gas conversion for us. I highly recomend Greg for large jobs such as this, and also smaller jobs (he just replaced our dishwasher and a frozen water pipe last week) As always, working with Greg is a pleasure. Everything I hoped for, but seldom experience with contractors.
Greg was a pleasure to deal with on every level. He gave an accurate quote, arrived on time and did a solid piece of work. He was careful and throughly explained what he was doing and why.
As a bonus, he is a really nice guy and was 1/2 the price of a different Boston based company.
I will definitely call him again if I have any other plumbing issues. -

Burst water heater, no hot water, unhappy tenants - next day service! Thanks to Greg for making my priority his priority and taking care of business. Greg is prompt, thorough, efficient, courteous, funny, nice and friendly. He travels with the parts he needs and will do small and large jobs. He's my plumber! Thanks Greg! PS he is also fairly priced as well as quick.

Greg did a great job at my place. I called him to do some preemptive maintenance on the old pipes in my building. He gave me a quote over the phone and fit me in the same day (I called at night, and he got back to me the next morning and came that day). I wasn't 100% sure of exactly what work I wanted done--just that I didn't want to have to call him with some emergency in the future--and he was very nice about explaining all the different options so that I could make an informed decision. The work itself was done smoothly, and there was no mess or anything left behind. Greg was also nice enough to give me tips on keeping our pipes clear for the future, which I appreciated as a new homeowner. I would definitely call him again, but I hope I won't have to!

Our hot water heater went, one morning having just bought our home and not having been from the area we were really anxious about who to call who can you trust. We found wonderful reviews in several places and decided to give Vaughan a call. Greg was awesome, he came out that afternoon, to look at it, and make sure he got the correct size to replace the broken heater. While there he discovered that the water valve that stops water to the heater was busted and he replaced that on the spot and was there the next morning to take out the old heater and replace it. And he was VERY reasonable, I figured with the emergency visit and the new heater we wouldn't be happy campers, but I was wrong!!! Highly recommend to anyone!

Greg came to a rental we own in Coolidge Corner to replace the disposal. Greg happily provided a "light" estimate over the phone (Many places won't do this), which allowed me to take the plunge. He also agreed to use the new disposal which I had picked up myself (another thing other companies would not do). Greg arrived on time and quickly told me he would try to FIX my old disposal first . (this was actually the cheapest alternative!) Once he decided it couldn't be fixed, he went ahead and replaced it. He was quick and efficient. I appreciated that he tried to save me money first. Besides being trustworthy and reasonably priced, Greg is very personable and pleasant! I will always recommend him to friends and use him again!

I called Vaughan Plumbing and Heating to give me an estimate to hook up my dryer to my gas lines (some other companies would not even give me a quote). He was not the least expensive quote, but I thought his price was extremely reasonable and fair, and he also came out the same day. He is very friendly and he did good work. He charged me what he said he would. I would call him for our plumbing needs again.

Greg was the best! When we had concerns about the way the piping was hooked up under our sink, Greg insisted on coming out - free of charge- to see what the problem really was. He gave us an estimate that ended up being a quarter of the price of any other plumber, and he was extremely timely and neat. He even "re-arranged" the piping and water hammer arrestor under the sink, so that we had more space. We not only would hire him again...we did. He also redid the piping in our bathroom sink, and I wouldn't hesitate to call him at a moment's notice.
