Stop here after years of driving by here and wanting to see it I finally did

and it is work stopping and seeing, also the view of the Columbia river and the Bridge you just crossed it on is great from here

east to get off the highway here and back on again, only thing that suck is the plaques that were here at one time are gone probably stolen as they were brass, so more than likely were sold as scrap by a tweaker

The monument, done by David Govedare, is not too far from the parking area off of the Eastbound lanes of I-90. However, the trail is steep and treacherous. Going up isn't too bad, but sandy soil and loose jagged rocks make the trip back down only for the reasonably surefooted. They are worth viewing even from a distance, because of their lifelike feel, in what was at one time, real wild-horse country.

This is a really cool sculpture on the opposite side of the gorge from Vantage. Meaning, travel about 5 miles east on I90 and you will come to it as you drive up and out of the Columbia Gorge.

This sculpture is done by David Govedare and comes from a creation story which you can read here:

See some photos of it at these URLs:

It is definitely worth a peek at if you are travel ling that way (like to a concert at the gorge!)
