HEY...it's me, the self-professed fan of small plates and friendly eclectic bar seating. Once upon a time, Valuna's location was a former ice cream place and pizza parlor. The current owners have done a nice job transforming the interior into a funky disjointed decor complete with tin ceiling. The menu changes seasonally and has a nice variety of selections without being overwhelming, everything from burgers and clubs to nice pastas, fresh seafood, and steak offerings. Hubby and I have been here several times now and are big fans of sitting on their outdoor deck, sipping a nice glass of their sangria (watch out, it'll rock you!!!) surrounded by a summer's bounty of planters of herbs, greens, tomatoes, and flowers. The Meditteranean plate with a variety of hummus, kalamata olive relish, and fresh grilled pita is outstanding. For the freshness and portions of food, the prices are reasonable. The recent calamari offering with capers and citrus glaze and sweet hot peppers was AMAZING!!! They are now also open for lunch. Overall, I would recommend this as a nice alternative to the usual limited South County options and definitely worth a try. The ultimate test--would I choose this restaurant over another if I was paying a babysitter? Absolutely. I'm already planning when I can come back for the housemade baklava which regretablly sells out before I can try it...

The service here ROTS and the plain cheese pizza is okay. We have had horrible service here and the venue is a bit dodgy.
