Ahh, the quintessential dicey motel.  We pulled in the other night for our weekend stay, and in the parking lot found: several harleys, a few scattered mercedes (affair, anyone?  Buehller?), and a whole lot of old Cadillacs and Buicks.

The clientele certainly makes for interesting people watching.  But let's face it.  Most people don't stay at a motel like this for the people watching.  They've usually got a better reason (like an affair).

So here's the skinny: You get what you pay for.

The room is bare bones, no frills.  A large bed with very old looking sheets, floral pattern (this helps to conceal stains).  TVs do come with HBO, although color and sound are WAY off.  The AC worked, which was a godsend, although even with all the lights on, you could barely see inside once the curtains were drawn.  (This could be a good thing depending on how much you've dished out for your prostitute).  You get roughly three towels for your room.  And when I say roughly, I mean ROUGHLY.  These towels felt like we were drying off with burlap sacks.  Not to mention they were about the size of a large napkin.  That was fun.

There's an ice machine downstairs.  Yay.  Walls are somewhat dampened so again, you may be lucky enough not to have audio accompaniment from all of the affairs/prostitution going on.

I was disappointed by the fact that they charge $10/hour to extend check out time.  As if they've got customers clamoring to book up these fantastic rooms!  Suffice it to stay I decided to check out at the prescribed time.

Ultimately, the price was right.  $60/night.  It included free wifi, and amazingly, the wifi was WEP encrypted, which made me feel slightly better about the potential for identity theft.
