After we installed the uv sterilizer on our tank, the bf and I wanted to check out aquarium we never been to before and get some feesh.
Thanks to fellow yelper, lily, we decided to go with her recommendation and check this place out. Very well stocked for freshwater and saltwater. Love the cichlids selections, and they have non-aggressive cichlids that are suitable for community tank. We picked up 3 beautiful german rams, and some gouramis, we were happy campers. Very nice looking fishes, nice and helpful staffs, we'll definitely be going back!

By far the best place for fish and fish supply within a 20 mile radius. Actually even better than the ones in SF and Sac just because they offer things so much cheaper. However, they do not carry rare fishes but you'll have to order them, so it's all good.
All the staff are friendly, great stock of fishes, and the cheapest in the area. They will also do lay-away plans if you plan on to buy a big fish tank or an expensive filter.

Probably the best fish store I've gone to in regards of quality, costumer service, options, and prices. I'm a hobbyist that will make a drive for what I want and usually it's up in Sacramento, but ever sense I've found this place I've been done right many times. I've purchased a few expensive rare saltwater angels from them that no one could get me at a reasonable price and good quality. They've also got two cool huge reef tanks and a really awesome pet arowana that loves going to refrigerator...I kidd you not....go see it yourself.

Vallejo Aquarium is the place to go for fishes! David, Wendy, and Hung are aquatic enthusiast. Everything you need to know about turtles, tropical, fresh water fishes is resting on their helpful shoulders. If you want, they can build you a tropical tank from scratch and provide an education on proper care, lighting, and design. They are just about the most friendly people you'll meet; they'll service you and your fishes with their warm homely personalities. There are also a handful of regular customers if you'd want to go in there to hang out with fellow fish lovers.
The store carries a variety of fresh and salt water fish. They have two lovely tanks of coral and tropical fish sitting in front. These guys also carry a variety of supplies including tanks, foods, medicines, and plants. If they don't carry something you want, the staff is more than happy to help you look elsewhere. Customers do enjoy a great benefit of having the option to specially order something from their wide network of warehouses, warehouse, and outsource vendors.
This is mom and pop shop with terrific customer service. Their website is pretty cool too. If you're looking to start a tank, this is the place to go. Did I mention that this is one of the few places in the bay area with easy access to parking!

Finally, a GOOD aquarium/fish store thats within 5 minutes away. When I was younger, I was addicted to keeping fish. Community fish of all types, and when I got older, kept various cichlids from all parts of the world. When I was able to make money, I blew it on setting up salt water tanks and mini reefs. Over the years I KNOW I've spent thousands and thousands. When I left home I couldn't take my tanks with me so I donated most of my fish to the Academy and gave away or sold my lot. Now I've pretty much settled and the fish keeping must commence... Ever since I've visited this store....
One of the salesman, one cool cat named Dave is very knowledgeable. The store set up is neat and very clean. Despite the high humidity they have an AC! Fish are split up by categories/aggressives and community type. Corals on the left side. The prices are unbelievablely reasonable. And so are the tank setups. Tanks and supplies are in the back and they have all th different filtration systems available. Anything can be ordered given time, and they even have a DIY wet-dry filtration system... now that's hard-core and any respectable aquarist has to give props.... As you can see, I'm pretty stoked about all this and I've once again been bitten by the aquarium bug.

In the Vallejo area, this is #1 on the list of aquariums I am comfortable with buying fish from. The store is large and holds a lot of tanks so just going in to browse is fun! Against the left wall are 2 coral tanks with a lot of good looking stuff. On the right are rows of tanks, freshwater and saltwater. Everything looks clean and healthy! Prices are very good!
As a hobbyist, I find that when looking for livestock, it is important to know the people selling the livestock too. The owner, Hung, is a young guy (late 20s/early 30s?) who use to shop at Lucky Ocean. He seems more relaxed about the "rules" of fish keeping and the advice he gave me on stocking and quarantine really put my mind at ease. His employee Victor is still inexperienced with the hobby since he couldn't answer too many of my questions, but I felt comfortable with him bagging my purchases for me - in the words of Hung "It'll take him forever, but all your crabs will have all their legs". They are both very approachable, despite their intimidating arm tattoos.
Vallejo Aquarium is definitely worth the extra drive because a good quality fish store is hard to come by. Don't buy bargain fish, but with their prices, you'll be getting a good deal and a good fish.

I have found yet another reason why I should write about the guys at the Vallejo Aquarium.
I had been in the market for some tire track eels for a couple of months and the other stores didn't have them. I had even ordered it at another place but it never came in. Frustrated I went over to the Vallejo Aquarium and spoke to Mr. Hung. I had my little tropical fish book with colorful pictures and I showed Hung the eel that I wanted. This is after my 3rd visit there and I had little if no history or purchasing fish or anything from his store. He asked how many I'd like and the size and he told me that he'd call me when they arrived.
A couple of days later I received his call and true to his word there they were. The tire track eels looked exactly like the photo in my little tropical fish book. Actually his eels had more color. Hung had hand picked the eels and instead of purchasing 2, I purchased all 8 of the spiny eels.
Thank you again Hung, for your sincere service and for taking the time when your competitors had not.
Best regards,
Lee

Told my hubby that I saw there's a Vallejo aquarium downtown and we wanted to check it out. The store was spacious and well set up. They specialize in cichlids. They have it set up that you'll see the aggressive type fish up in the front and the community fish are towards the back. They had some big beautiful green terrors, which are my favorite. Good sale on fish tanks and and on the counter they have a cute little turtle. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great Customer Service!!

Finally variety and quality fish in Vallejo! For months I've been watching them build and construct the stands and tanks. You would never believe these guys are new because of the experience and business they have already. Ciclids and Saltwater variety in one place, how great is that.

We've bought our fish here. A few brichardi's and after a few months, we got some fry. They were helpful in telling us which food to get. They said they were willing to buy our babies but at wholesale prices, who knew the markup? Plus, it wouldn't have been worth much since we didn't have a lot of babies. We love going here for some occasional fish envy. Very nice people. Buy in Vallejo and support your city.

This place is fantastic for a new store! I recognize one of the workers from lucky ocean aquarium in SF, which was great because I knew I was getting great advice. I was having problems with my Koran, Blue Face, and Queen Angel that I had picked up from another fish store recently (cloudy eye and scratching). They gave me some great advice on how to take care of the problem and within a week they were back to normal. Sense than, I've added a gang of chromis, cleaner wrass, and a coral beauty and they've done great from vallejo aquarium.

We stopped by Vallejo Aquarium to look at their awesome coral fish tanks. We had no intention of investing in a tank of our own. But after talking to the friendly staff and learning a lot of new things about tank ownership, we suddenly became very interested in creating a coral tank of our own. Even if you're not a salt-water fish officiant, it's still a pretty cool place to check out.

A costumer I met from a Sacramento fish store (o st. aquarium) told me of this place. My wife and I responds was, "NO WAY, in Vallejo?' Than one of the owners at that store told us that the vallejo store owners were related to them and than handed us a business card. Sure enough we found Vallejo aquarium as promise. Everything my wife and I need was here from Seachem reef products to epoxy. Fish prices are pretty close to SF prices, but the quality is of Sacramento excellents (Best of both worlds). Right on time as well with gas up to $4 dollars for premium, we were concern of cutting back on our hobby.

these guys are the best. they have the most friendliest, helpful, and up-to-date staff i've ever seen in a pet shop. they know their stuff and their reef tanks are DOPE AS ROPE! i bought my green spotted puffer fish there, and he's in tip top shape. they had like a few in the tank, but they were all healthy! all their fish are very healthy and alive, active, and perfect in color. they have a lot of fish that the local petco dont have. they have the fish that will get you in bed easier than roofie can! go there, let them know your situation, and they'll take care of you. happy fishing.

Vallejo aquarium just recently opened up in Vallejo, Im not from the area but I visited my friends house in Vallejo and he wanted to check this place out. I don't own any fishes but after checking out their huge salt water tank, I was convinced that I should start one! My friends bought some fishes that names escape me, but the asian dudes working there were able get me started on a simple tank. Well in the end I got a Betta aka the fighting fish. Might start my own personal Pokemon battles at home! I'm used to checking out 6th ave Aquairum which looks like a damned marine holocaust, but Vallejo Aquarium is very bright and inviting, plus they play very soothing adult contemporary instead of the hip hop crap at 6th ave. Aquarium. It's a shame they are not in the city but I have been going to Vallejo alot more frequantly.

l live in San Francisco and l learned of this store from a friend. He told me to check out Vallejo aquarium. customer service was great and the prices are very fair. l had bought two tangs there for 20 dollar each . Two Sailfin tang for 40 dollar that is a deal. they have a huge selection of fresh water fish. they have two like 400 gallon tanks with corals. it was fill to the top. l would say there were at least 160 corals there. very cheap as well compared to the sf store that l am custom to going to.
