South Pasadena, CA
I love Valerie's Crepes! First of all, there are few crepe stores around us. Second, the crepes are surprisingly delicious. You expect food court quality food here since it is in the middle of the food court. However, Valerie's could very well thrive as a stand-alone store. I have tried their caesar salad crepe and its not bad. But I love their sweet crepes. Valerie's special was a huge crepe with strawberries, nutella, ice cream, and whipped cream. The portion is big enough for two people to share. It's obvious that they pick out quality ingredients because the fruit is so fresh. They have so many different kinds of crepes available so you can pick something new every time and every person in your party can pick something different.
I know some people have been commenting on the employees there. I mean, most of the employees at the mall are teenagers so if their service is lackluster, it's understandable. However, they just have to put all the ingredients together to make a good crepe and they do just that. I don't let that hold me back from getting a my crepe. -

The Best Creperie in San Gabriel Valley!
Valeries Crepes are tasty, affordable and made of high quality ingredients. My favorite is the "Valerie Dessert" crepe which consist of nutella, bananas, strawberries, walnuts, whip cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It just melts in your mouth!
They also have some savory dishes and some salads. If you are in the Arcadia/Rosemead area, you should check this place out. Its located inside the Santa Anita Mall. The mall itself is okay, but if you do some holiday shopping here...make sure you come to Valeries! -

These are so great crepes.
You have to order their speciality. It's called a Valerie just like the name of the company. It includes strawberry, bananas, whip cream, nuts and vanilla ice cream.
Have it now! -

Valerie's Crepes
This little cafe was so out of place in a mall that was so huge and commercial it was refreshing! We sought out crepes in the Pasadena area and this stand was the only one that stood out.
After speaking with the employees, we commented that we had come to the mall specifically to have crepes. i ordered the Valerie special for $6.80 while Mr Food (my other half) decided on the Strawberry crepe with nutella with whipped creme and a peach smoothie.
The employees completely out did themselves and asked for a review afterwards. I have had crepes from the Farmer's Market and those were undoubtedly my favorite until I came across Valeries. My crepe was created right in front of my with a specialized tool made of wood to keep the natural flavors which I was really appreciative. After that, the crepe was placed on a cooling rack, smeared with nutella, freshly sliced strawberries and bananas and topped with fresh whipped cream and walnuts. it was handed to us with a smile and a "I hope we live up to your expectations. "
We sat down and i dug into my crepe and to my complete suprise they had added vanilla ice cream right smack in th emiddle of my crepe! it added a touch of delicacy as well as rounded off the smooth flavor of the nutella and the strawberries tartness. Now i'm no professional food critic, but even I could tell this was a gourmet treat.
I give this crepe stand two thumbs up and a wink for being not only creative but extremely detail orientated right down to the walnut garnish. The peach smoothie was made with canned peaches and not peach flavored powder adding a sweetness never found at the local smoothie or tapioca shops.
For a cool $11.00 and 3.00 for the smoothie, it was well worth the quick service fresh food, and the fact that we didn't have to wait in a crowded restaurant (a la ihop) for a fantastic brunch.
In addition to having an easy to find location at the mall, Valeries also happenens to be right in front of my favorite drink place: Lollicup.
**** EDIT 10/21****
We went back for more! This time Mr. Food ordered the Chicken Savory crepe with Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing, sans the fresh spinach, and sprinkled with parsley. I again ordered the Valerie crepe with had a variation this time around with the rainbow sprinkles. This is a perfect combination with the savory crepe and the dessert crepe, especially if you are like me and wanting to taste a little bit of everything all in one sitting. -

Since my last review I was actually contacted by one of the owners apologizing for the skimpiness of my crepe. He told me that he would make sure to bulk up the crepes and offered a free crepe! Very nice. This kind of service makes me happy. I didn't take the free crepe, I saw no need to comp me, but I did go get a crepe from Valerie's a few weeks later.
Wow!!! 5 stars you guys! It was much bigger and still with the wonderful fresh ingredients. When businesses care this much about customer satisfaction that business deserves to stay around forever. So get thee to the Arcadia mall and buy up crepes like there is no tomorrow!
Remember people, it stimulates the economy.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Delicious!!!
The Valerie's crepe is awesome. From the description (nutella, strawberries, bananas, ice cream and whipped cream), you might think this crepe would be too sweet, but it was actually quite scrumptious and had the right amount of everything.
Next time I will have to try a savory crepe.
And I agree with the other Yelper that it is nice to have a different and interesting option to the typical aka awful selections in mall food courts...Sbarro anyone...ick! -

Yum yum! Sweet crepes...
Located in the food court of the shopping mall, this crepe place hits the spot.
I ordered Valerie's special, filled with nutella, strawberries, banana, big scoop of ice cream, and whipped cream. The crepe was huge and can't believe I ate the whole thing myself. If you love soft crepes, you'll love Valerie's. -

Valerie's has been around since this mall was remodeled which was about 4 or 5 years ago. The food court was moved and long with the relocation a bunch of new places to eat were opened. Some were good, and some were bad. The bad ones eventually closed because they didn't get any business. Valerie's is still around so I guess that mean's it's good.
For the longest time, I was honestly afraid to try crepes. I would think to myself...why would I eat a crepe if I could have real meal. Little did I know I was truly missing out.
Admittedly, I only order one thing or two things from the menu (banana nutella or banana nutella with strawberry crepe). It is really is tasty though. Cannot really recommend the savory crepes as I have never ordered one. The crepes are made to order right in front of you.
The ingredients taste fresh and correct, and over the years I have never met a employee that was anything but friendly. It's a good place to grab a desert or a snack when you're in the Santa Anita mall. -

Valerie's is great, especially given that they're in a mall food court! I would normally give them 4 stars, but they get an extra star for actually providing good food in this setting, where you're normally stuck with junk.
I've always been happy with the crepes that I've had here. The Valerie's (nutella, bananas, strawberries, ice cream, whipped cream) is a bit over the top, but it's good. The spinach and cheese is good, especially if you pay an extra 50 cents and add some fresh basil. The apple and brie is especially good and is a favorite of mine.
The smoothies are good too. -
Review from Jenny Y.
I never was one for crepes after that crepe shop in Riverside spoiled me. But the Valerie is amazing and the crepe isn't too rubbery or thick *coughs* crepe in a gripe *coughs*
When I crave crepes, I come here =) And it helps that the workers are very friendly and efficient. Must try the apple and brie sometime =d I'd stay away from their smoothies if you're not into sugary syrup o.o;; -

Upping one star from before because the owner was kind enough to contact me and apologize for the previous incident. I came back for their dessert crepe this time -- Valarie's which consist of nutella, bananas, strawberries, walnuts, whip cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I like the open kitchen because I can see what is going on and how they fix my food or else I would be weary of eating my crepe.
I swear, the same guy that was rude and did not want to customize my crepe last time still works there. I asked for no whip on my crepe, but he accidentally forgot and put whip cream on it. He tried to salvage it by digging in with his hands to remove the whip (plastic gloves on thankfully). Seeing that we were staring at him with eyes wide open, he said he will make us a new one.
The crepe was delicious and big. Presentation was nice with a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top.
I'll only come back I see that the Asian guy with the studs is not working. Don't like his attitude. He seemed annoyed at our small requests.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I am giving Valerie's Crepe a 4 star due to the owner's active role in trying to build loyalty and create a great business. Within 24 hours of writing my last review of my disappointment with their brie cheese and how one of their workers treated me, the owner was quick to apologize and told me the steps he was planning to take to remedy the situation.
So many times business owners sadly forget about how important their customers are. Knowing that the owners care so much about their business and product to constantly monitor the Yelp boards is a breath of fresh air.1 Previous Review: Show all »

My crepe was dry and the strawberries were rotten. The man that worked there was rude to me when I confronted him about the state of my crepe. I have been waiting forever to try this place so I was definitely disappointed :(
updated- I received a really nice email from the owner. I still can't believe he took the time out of his day to do that! I feel honored. I will be giving Valeries another chance. Customer service goes A LONG way in my book. -

I have to say I was very disappointed with the crepes that I had here. My friends and I split one savory and one sweet crepe and I was not impressed. Not only was there not enough filling in the crepes, but the actual crepe skin was a bit salty.
I've definitely had better. Wasn't impressed by the service or the wait either. -
Review from Anita i.
I must say, the crepes are pretty big and they really fill it with Delicious and fresh ingredients. It could easily be shared between two people. The bananas are cut right then so they aren't all brown like other places that pre-cut their fruits. The best part is that you can see them make it right in front of you. actually scratch that, the best part is when you eat it! Nutella with bananas and strawberry is the best combination!! mmm. the warmed nutella oozes in between the strawberry and bananas!! don't forget to add a scoop of ice cream. yum! I'll have to try their savory crepes next time i stop by the mall. If you are looking for a delicious and healthy alternative to all the other oily mall eateries, definitely check this place out.

This place is a real pleasant surprise. I was told to get The Valerie which has nutella, strawberry, banana, and a scoop of ice cream right in the middle of a crepe. I thought it might be too much but actually the flavors balance out really well. Plus it was nice and refreshing. I also like the smoothies because they make it with fresh strawberries and bananas, and they're more natural. I ask for no sugar in mine. I also like the egg crepes which they crack right onto the the crepe. I don't care if it's a breakfast, it makes a good pre-movie meal.

A few weeks ago I attended a brunch party for a good friend and the catering was from this amazing crepe's restaurant! The gentlemen that made the crepes were very kind, and everyone that attended at least had 2 crepes each! They have a variety of options for catering menus and its great for parties. I started off with spinach and 4 cheese which is light and really hits the spot. For dessert, I had the famous "Valerie Light" which is half the servings of a regular crepe. It was made with Nutella, strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, walnuts, and ice-cream in the middle of the crepe. I can only imagine what the restaurant is like since my first time trying this place was at a catered party. Needless to say, I will be venturing out towards this place soon.

Good crepes here. They're soft with a slightly crunchy edge. I prefer this soft crepe to the harder, crunchier types (eg. handheld types). I really enjoy the Valerie ($7) but when I'm craving ice cream I just get the French Vanilla ($5). I tried the breakfast crepe but didn't enjoy the taste combo of a mildly sweet crepe with savory fillings. If I'm in the mood, I might give their savory crepes another chance.

so this place is smack dab in the middle of the mall's food court. considering that, i reckon that they would probably serve food at a reasonable amount of time as well.
i ordered a savory crepe and a mango smoothie. considering there is only one person in front of me who was waiting for her order, i thought a 10 minute wait time was only fair, if not at all generous.
but that 10 minute wait turned out to be a horrendous 30 minute wait. maybe it was because it was the lunch rush, but still. there was no organization at all in the kitchen, the server had her gloves on when she accepted my payment, and kept the same gloves on when she prepared someone's crepes. gross! then, there was a server from a nearby store that came into the kitchen and made herself her own crepe, in the middle of the other servers preparing other orders and then just nonchalantly leaving after. the servers unfortunately didn't have the proper organizational skills as they had ended up giving away my order to another patron. so they rushed to make me one when i pointed that out (how embarrasing would it be to call back that other person who was already midway through the food court with the wrong food?)
that whole incident left me a bit harangued but i reckon it should not in any way prevent me from enjoying the food, which seemed appetizing at that time. but when i did bite into it, their chicken was tough, spinach wasn't washed, and they made a mistake on the sauce. their mango smoothie, was subpar at best.
will never ever eat at valerie's again. the servers need training... or re-training. -

Upon review, I was contacted by management of VCrepes. I must say he is so very nice and understanding. I really think that starting a small business is hard but keeping it just takes good food and on top of that excellent service that always thinks of customers input. In any organization valuing each person is really the key to success. Thank you.

I love this place. I am bit of a food snob and this place satisfies my crepe cravings. They need more vegetarian options on the menu as I hate trying to modify what is already on the menu. I usually get the Caprese Crepe and occasionally add more vegetable fillings. Altogether, a great crepe place. I am lucky that it isn't closer or I'd be eating crepes more often than any human ever should.

This creperie is in the food court in the Arcadia Westfield mall. This review is really 2.5 stars but since yelp didn't allow that of me, I just rounded up. I've ordered the Italian crepe and the basic ham and cheese . Both were a bit soggy and didn't scream wow. Again I would categorize this as more the fast food type crepes which suits the mall environment but far from "french" style crepes. Venders in the farmers market in the Ferry Bldg in SF are much better and cheaper but thats another category. Still trying to find a comparable creperie of that of Ti Couz in LA.

Great for catering!
Since Valerie's is focusing on catering now I thought I would share my expeience. Valerie's catered my baby shower a couple of years ago and all of my guests loved it. Valerie's was able to put together a package that fit our budget and that offered a mix of savory and sweet crepes. Portions were a good size and the crepes were made well even though the cooks were rushing to keep the lines moving.
I would definitely recommend Valerie's and would consider working with them again in the future. -

where did you go Valerie's? =(
this was my favorite crepe place. i always got the chicken/spinach crepe for lunch. their strawberry and banana crepe is really delish too! the edges of the crepes were always nicely crispy, and they always added the right amount of ice cream and nutella.
i liked how fresh this place was. everything was made in front of your eyes, and customer service was perfect. they messed up my crepe once by putting whipped cream on it when i asked for none, and offered to make me an new one, free of charge. i told them it was ok, i just scraped off the cream.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH, why is it gone?? they had great reviews and no lack of supporters. it's now been replaced by a new crepe place and it SUCKS. the new place has PREMADE crepes. never in my life, have i ordered a crepe that was premade. they have a stack of folded crepe skins just sitting in a basket, and when you order, they pull one out and toss it on the heat pan. all the crepes are torn (because they suck at making crepes) and they fold it in half and reheat it next to another crepe that is already on the heat pan. i'm going to assume they do this so they can reheat 2 crepes at once (how lazy). i ordered a chocolate crepe because i really wanted ice cream but their crepes dont have ice cream. i left and walked around the whole mall in search of something to satisfy my craving and ended up at the crepe stand again. i was PMS'ing so i really needed the crepe and got one sans ice cream anyway. BIG MISTAKE. as if premade crepes aren't bad enough already, they were cooking my sweet crepe next to a savory crepe and they got cheese all over mine. i dont know about you guys, but nutella and cheese don't go well together to me. they stuck my crepe in a to-go box and i ate it on the way home while my bf drove. it was eaten immediately and the crepe was SOGGY. i had nothing in it except nutella so it shouldn't have been soggy at all. it was like thin mcdonalds hot cakes. it was gross!
why have you left us valerie's? come back! -

It's hard to find good crepe places nowadays. Sometimes, I find myself wandering to the mall just for one of Valerie's crepes. I've never had a savory crepe but their sweet crepes are outstanding and priced well. Service is quick and good but parking is a pain at this mall.

San Francisco has multitudinous creperies, all with cutsey names like "crepevine" and "crepes-a-go-go." So what do I do? Fly to LA and drive to Arcadia to go to the mall for a genuine Valerie's Crepes', er, crepe. They're just that good.
