Love it!
Great courtyard, fountain, there's lots of people having a great time outdoors, eating, drinking, enjoying the weather. This is a very popular spot, so each time I've been there you have to really get in where you fit in at the bar area. The good thing, they have a really big bar in the middle and a side bar too. Another good thing, they have food/a deli. Lots of options.
Tastings:
$5 flight, and $10 flight.
I love sweet wines and white wines.. so on the $5 flight I was good and happy. The Muscat is really good for about $18 a bottle. And you may or may not like it b/c of the Brandy in it, but I like the Angelica for $29. Oh and their best seller is really good too - the Gamay Rouge.
Simply perfect venue for a medium size wedding. The Ceremony facing the the winery, the reception in the barrel room, amazing courtyard, the wines... Can't ask for more. Event Staff is very polite, efficient and helpful.

This is a must when we visit Napa. Bring a blanket and pick out a spot on the picnic grounds. The rest can be had at V Sattui. The deli is amazing. Home cured meats and gourmet cheeses! Need I say more?
Unfortunately, yes. The wine is lacking. There's a reason why you get 6+ flights for $5. I definitely don't come for the wine. But to each is their own!
BTW one of the only main street (HWY 29) wineries that you can host a wedding.
I'm basing this review all on the wine tasting server's unacceptable treatment of my fiance and myself yesterday.
There were two distinct incidents that offended me to the fullest.
The first incident happened to be what he said to me he asked me for my I.D. was "Wow is this your mugshot?" Now I thought of it as just a joke but then... the second incident happened. When he asked me and my fiance to pick up our glasses after having tasted about 2 wines each and move to another part of the wine tasting bar for no apparent reason. Then I notice he goes right back to the where my fiance and I were standing and quickly tends to another group of wine tasters. Three caucasian women in their mid 40's.
Now, I don't know what premise this guy had in moving us to the far and empty end of the wine tasting bar but I wouldn't be too surprise if it were due to some form of discrimination may it be racism or ageism.
I will never go back to this vineyard, and I will never purchase anymore wine from them and will ask my friends and family to do the same.

Hmmm.. I love the drinking. I love the outdoors. I love drinking outdoors. HA! So, I was just there with my bf and there were soo many people out in the patio just chatting away and enjoying the gorgeous weather. I was too "happy" to notice the screaming kids (as I just got through approximately 5 wineries)
Anyway, what I'm trying to suggest is that you make V. Sattui your last stop when making your rounds in Napa. After shooting the bull with a bunch of sommeliers all day, I'm assuming you just want to sit down, relax, and EAT! I'm also assuming that you're probably going to be starving at the end of the day.. so go there and have a salad/sandwich/block of cheese in honor of all us who aren't there to share that bottle of super fruity riesling with you.

This is by far one of my favorite wineries in the Napa Valley. We came here on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. We arrived in a beautiful European setting, where you can picnic and enjoy the warm sun. Children are frolicking on the grassy lawn, while young adults to seniors are engaged in conversations while enjoying their baskets of goodies with a bottle of wine. Everything seemed so relaxed, it felt like time was infinite.
As we step inside, we enter upon the Deli area, filled with a variety of different meats and cheeses to accompany their wine selection. Further past the Deli, you enter upon the Wine tasting room. The area is quite open and large and most definitely busy. We approached the counter and were greeted immediately. They have a $5 tasting or a $10 premium tasting of their reserve wines. Each of these two tasting allow you to try 6 wines each. We went for the $10 premium tasting. My most favorite wines are the Gamay Rouge and the Off Dry Johannesburg Riesling. The Gamay Rouge is a great picnic wine, light and fruity. The Off Dry Johannesburg Riesling is just simply delicious, very smooth and sweet.
Of course I couldn't leave without purchasing a few bottles. I will definitely be back for more!!

omg ...never ever ever again!! If Sattui was to offer me $500 to visit this place I would say THANKS but NO THANKS....scenery? Nice....Decor...Nice circa 1985......I loved their outdoor seating...BUT I would not go again since I am not ok with ID THEFT....one of their staff members stole my credit card and charged a whole bunch of crap...the owner admitted to it but said it was my problem....ok fine.....they are being SUED....never again v sattui...you are scammers!!! I say you should most certainly visit them...just pay cash.....DO NOT PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD!!!!
This place has my favorite wines!!!!! I would never go to NAPA and not come here! I usually buy eight bottles of wine every time I come here. Two of each of these bottles: off dry Riesling, dry Riesling, muscat, and the gamay rouge. My must buys each time!! It's perfect to keep around as gifts when you go to dinner at a friend's or just to keep and drink at home! It's amazing! I love this place. I love the cheese, the set up, the chillness, the wines, the food, and the amazing service you get here. Everyone is just so friendly and loves wine. No one gets annoying or obnoxious. It doesn't get crowded meaning you have to wait, so just be patient!

First stop on our daytrip to Napa Valley. We arrived around 11:30am so it was perfect timing for us to eat at this beautiful green winery! This was my first time at V. Sattui and i absolutely fell in love with the whole scenery. Initially, i thought this place was small according to some of my friends but when we arrived there, it surpassed what i expected! Very crowded! I think one of the most popular places in Napa! A very popular place for a luncheon/picnic area definitely! It is the perfect spot to grab a picnic basket and blanket and lounge in the sun with your loved ones with a glass of wine in your hands. ( long description or what? picturing it in my head) You do have to have eyes like a hawk though since you have to scout for tables or benches!
Parking is a pain since this place gets so crowded especially around lunchtime!
My favorite part of this winery is sadly not the wine.. but it is the food!!! We were so excited to see the line for the Sunday BBQ that they were hosting in front of the winery! I was able to try the prime rib sandwich, which was delicious but for a good $10! My friends got the fresh mozzarella cheese salad which was a VERY generous portion i may add, and turkey leg( which was dry but came with a macaroni salad that I finished everyones eventually). Prices were a bit steep but for food everything in napa is pretty pricey. At least i can assure you that it will be good!
Also, I was like a little girl walking around when we entered V.Sattui's premises. I LOVED the cheese section and meats. I was able to enjoy some sample which eventually made me buy some cheese and baguettes to enjoy in the beautiful weather with everyone! The triple thick brie made me go to heaven! It tasted like butter since it was so creamy and soft, melting away in the sun.
The wine was decent. Decent price $5 for 5 flights of wine i believe and there was another option for $10. I really liked the gamay rouge though and wine dessert as my last wine taste. Overall, wines here are average, nothing to die for but i still enjoyed it! You definitely need to try to squeeze in amongst the crowd at the wine bars! Lines were long to check out if you buy food though... I spent a good 20 minutes waiting outside at the line for the cash register.
I am going back there FOR SURE next time i come visit Napa again with my picnic basket and blanket! ( hopefully soon! )

This is definitely a tourist hot spot.
The grounds are beautiful (maybe a bit contrived) and they have tons of picnic space to enjoy... if you bought your food from their deli, that is.
The tasting room was insanely busy and the service wasn't too personal. Though what can you expect when there are 100s of people there?
Wine was meh - nothing particularly memorable and thus nothing was purchased.
The overall experience is not the kind I want when I visit Napa, so I won't be coming back. The 3 stars are for the pretty venue only.

As mentioned before, this place is a zoo. But I don't care about that, I came here for the wine. I don't care about the picnic area, the kids screaming around, the fact that they have a deli, or whether they charge $5 a taste. The only thing that mattered to me was the wine.
And guess what- THE WINE SUCKED!
Why are people coming here? The whites were all too sweet and the reds had too much tannins. One of their merlots was so smoky I wanted to spit out coal. I was the one who wanted to try this place, on the advice of a friend, and my tasting companions all thought I was an idiot.
If you want good wine, do not go here. For goodness sakes, you're in Napa. Go find a good winery. Go to Markham (spring for the reserve).

I literally swooned over their Raspberry Caramel Sauce...so delicious! Didn't do a tasting here but really enjoyed sampling some food, getting some snacks, and popping a bottle open for an impromptu picnic lunch on the lawn.
Seriously, though. Raspberry Caramel Sauce. $10 for a jar but worth the splurge, IMO!

Everyone says the wines are not very good - we did not taste there.
BUT they have a huge picnic area! Plan to picnic there!
Oh and I heard the BBQ they were offering was really good!

The "cool" winery...
If you first go to Napa on a holiday weekend, and visit V. Sattui as your first stop, you may wonder why people even bother coming to napa as a getaway. The parking lot is just plain stressful to drive though, and the winery is insanely crowded.
While it's nice that they market their "exclusive" wines to the masses successfully, I don't feel like that kind of atmosphere is really the point of napa.
As for the wine, it is good. I've heard people rave about it, which bothers me. I don't think it's rave worthy. My favorites are the rose that tastes like strawberries and the drier of their two Rieslings. The rose is just pleasant to drink. The dry riesling has a pleasant sweetness, but it doesn't overpower the flavor of the wine, and allows you to taste some complexity.
Overall, their wine is good, but it doesn't blow me away. And maybe that's because they are so successful, that it almost seems cliche to like them...I really hope I'm not becoming a wine snob.
FYI. Tastings are $5 for normal, and more for premium, which I've never done.

Whoa.
Prior to the wedding, V. Sattui seemed like a zoo, and as a photographer trying to grab the sweetest shots, these tourismos crawling all over the place didn't help my imagination.
However, when the "gates" closed to the public, and the wedding was on, the place graduated to one of the sweetest venues I've worked with this year.
At the wedding I photographed, the sun slipped behind the trees and hills before it set, to give an even, beautiful light in the courtyard. Prior to that, we enjoyed a beautiful, vine drenched backdrop in the open shade, creating photos that could not be better (no squinty eyes + pro lenses = awesome shots.
The bride and groom slipped away and left their guests in the courtyard and around the fountain with more beautiful light in the form of candles and overhead lanterns.
Photographers get a little nervous in low light, and caves are high on the list of avoidable spots, but the light inside from candles, christmas lights, and candelabras was perfectly moody, thoughtful, and delicious for my shots.
And that's just the light.
As the bride said, "this place smells awesome", which may not be agreeable to all, but definitely triggers a sense of old, authentic, and "they've been doing this a while" for me. I like it too.
And then the vendors that helped support the event were stellar. Just like I like 'em, most were invisible to my lens and purely professional.
This winery cranks out the weddings. From a busy photographer's perspective, their process is efficient, streamlined, and well staffed.
The photos are turning out great!
The light at this venue continued to impress me.
Whenever I'm back in the Bay Area, I make it every effort to take a trip to Napa Valley. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this winery. People, its not just a great winery luring you with its park like grounds, deliciously fabulous deli loaded with tastey treats, "wine bar" allowing you to sip and joke with the staff and great gift shope... its also my favourite place to picnic with my friends. I love to buy great tid bits and wine and then picnic on the grounds. Sometimes the winery also has a bbq for purchase during the summer months.

This is the corporate America of the wine region, so it's super crowded all the time, but the winery sells food, so that pretty much off sets it.
They have a ton of good food and cheeses and places to sit down outside and enjoy your pasta, cheese, sandwich and some wine, so it's pretty nice.
I would suggest this be your last stop on the way out of Napa. The food will help sober you up.
The wine is nothing to write home about, but it's good. I like it, and I keep going back, but mainly for the food.
Came here for lunch. They had wonderful, outdoor seating. They had BBQ outside and a deli inside, both of which were amazing. I wasn't able to buy any wine this time (because I spent my limit at another winery just a couple of hours before) but I LOVE their gamay rouge. A couple of my friends brought back a couple of bottles and I had a glass or two. I'm not a big fan of red but THIS wine was VERY, VERY light and tasty.
Great (eating) experience and I will definitely come back and visit V. Sattui again!
Fresh from my first visit to Wine Country a few weeks ago.
This was the first winery we decided to experience and one of the most enjoyable. The grounds outside are beautiful and we made the most out of it by heading into the Sattui Market and getting some fresh Serrano Ham, roasted peppers, and fine cheeses, along with a bottle of Rose wine from inside the tasting room. A picnic along the grassy knoll of the Sattui grounds made this winery experience an unforgettable one.
I came here with a group on a wine tour last weekend. I loved the beautiful gardens and picnic areas. The whole place was so pleasant and made me want to settle down on the grass with a blanket and a baguette and cheese for the afternoon.
The cellar where they hosted us for tasting was awesome. It had to be 100 degrees outside, and it was nice and cold inside the cellar and made for a great wine tasting atmosphere.
As for the actual wine, I wasn't all too impressed. Their rose was too sweet for me, as was the dessert wine. The first cabernet they served us was just bad. But the second cab they brought around was fairly good, definitely the highlight of what I tried here.
The golden apple of this place has to be the deli. EVERYTHING in there looked amazing and I wanted to eat it all!! The best part was the guy giving fudge samples, holy shit his fudge was amazing. I also chowed down on some great cheese samples and the caramel dip was fantastic! The hardest part was looking at the dessert cabinet. I stared at this thing for quite a while and finally had to drag myself away before I ate all of it, lol.

I like to call this the community, everyone goes here. They have a lovely courtyard and barbeque available most days. Parking is plentiful and there are always droves of people visiting this winery.
They have an uber filled deli with overpriced cheeses and meats, if you are like me I would rather buy cheeses from the market and plan a picnic. Nevertheless, you can't blame them for maximizing revenue atleast they give you plenty of samples.. :)
If you end up tasting, be sure to taste the Riesling, all the Rouges and their Muscat. All sweet and all fair priced.
Be sure to tell them that you are a local for the free tasting discount.
Yes - It's a tourist spot but it's still LOVELY.
I love their picnic area, their Saturday barbecues, their lush green vineyards and most of all their wine!
You see, I have a sweet tooth and I know some of you may turn your nose up at sweet wine but to me, it's HEAVEN.
I love their Gamay Rouge - absolute HEAVEN.
I love their 2008 Moscato - LOVELY.
I love their Reisling - DELICIOUS.
I adore their cheese, meat and bread selections.
They even have a small case of desserts! I tell you this place has perfected it! Like one of my fellow Yelpers wrote, this place is Heaven.On.Earth! I so echo this...
Such an absolute treasure. I love buying a bottle of their wine, bread, cheese and maybe even some meat and having a picnic outside with my loved ones. It's days like this that I love.
Even though I've been here a dozen times, I never ever leave disappointed. Thanks V. Sattui - you're AWESOME!

Napa's "picnic" winery. In addition to its well-staffed tasting counters (we were promptly served despite the jam-packed room), there's a full deli, cheese counter, & baskets of fresh baguettes. On weekends, there's an occasional summertime BBQ -- try the Mozzarella bake, a monstrous bruschetta of sorts. Wine tasting isn't remarkable, but the point of coming here is to head out to the grassy lawn & picnic tables to camp out for lunch.
++ | Great selection of cheese & Italian meats |
Samples! The woman staffing the station was incredibly friendly and gave us some background on the Rhinette (germany) & Piave Vecchio (Italy). Very very good cheese.
-- Classic wine tasting
White wines are much too sweet & red ones too heavy on the tannis, leaving an unpleasant powdery dry taste. If you must try wine here, go for the $15 reserve tasting.
Four stars simply for ambiance:
Wine Tasting = $10/$15
Whatever V. Sattui Winery is doing for their marketing effort is working. This place was crowded - barely any room to move, at least a 10 minute wait to start tasting.. and very distracted and busy sales reps... Their deli has a ton of yummy stuff, and their wine selection is great, but it's too chaotic of an experience. You just want to get in and get out. They either need to have a bigger facility that is conducive to high volume traffic, or ticketed tasting events. That being said, if there was a place to bring the entire family, V. Sattui is it. With activities from crushing to barrel construction, there is something for everyone!
Always my fave stop. Yummy wines. Terific deli. Beautiful courtyard where you can drink your yummy wines and your terrific eats.
Whats not to love?
a great way to end our napa adventure! one of the drivers from balloons above the valley recommended this place as one of his favorite wineries so we had to check it out. the winery itself is a gorgeous property and there is plenty of room to sit outside on a nice day and enjoy your lunch.
when we went inside we discovered there was also a well stocked deli area, but we went straight for the wine =] they don't sell their wine anywhere else and they had tons of different choices. we decided to go for the classic tasting and started with the riesling and gamay rouge. both are sweeter, lighter wines that i actually enjoyed [i don't usually like drinks that are too sweet]. now i'm not a wine connoisseur or anything but i've never tried anything like the gamay, so if you're going to stop by here defiiiiinitely try it!
the zinfandel was also good, and true to my heart... their award winning napa cabernet is awesome. i'm not even gonna try to sound like a wine snob, all i know is it's smooth, has great flavor, and i bought a bottle to take home.
the guy helping us [i wish i remembered his name!] was super helpful and nice. he's a younger gentleman with dark hair and seemed to be very knowledgable with all the different kinds of wine. i'll come back to you someday, V. Sattui.

This place is great! Tasting is only $5 or $10 for their reserve, and sharing is actually encouraged! How great is that? All the people that worked here were super friendly, patient, and willing to share their knowledge when asked. Even though I only paid for the $5 tasting, she let me taste the Madeira (delicious desert wine!) from the other menu.
They also offer a wide variety of cheeses, meats, and other hors d'voeures that you can bring home or eat at the huge picnic area. There are a bunch of picnic tables, and some people brought their own blankets and had a meal on the grass.
This place is more informal than the other two places I visited, and from other reviews, informal just in general, but in a good way. It's lively and a great place to just relax after all the silence of other vineyards. The prices of the wines are fair, and it's a good idea to buy it there because I think they are only available at the winery.
I've only started to appreciate wines, so my palate is not as sophisticated as other people, but I enjoyed their Muscat, Madeira, and the off dry Riesling. I think these are all pretty good beginner wines. :) My best friend loves their 1999 Port Wine.
Wine tasting $5 for 6 wines, $10 for reserved wines. There is a huge picnic area, so you can grab some food from the deli and a bottle to enjoy outside! Wines are fantastic - my favs are the Muscato and Gamay Rouge, slightly sweet and very easy to drink :)
It gets pretty crowded so don't expect to get too much attention from the servers. Definitely a great spot to hang out, but try to get there early so that you can beat the crowds.
Never coming back here on a weekend or holiday. 1/2 the wine is tainted. I felt like I walked into a day care for 3 year olds at Marine World, only the children were adults! People would push and shove inside and around the cheese area. They would knock things over, and hoard the free samples until they were completely depleted. I just wanted some crackers!
The horrendous line(s) for the cashier was not efficient. There were 7 or 8 of them, but there was a sign that it's 1 line PER cashier. Not efficient IMO as people get confused and think it's 1 line for the entire area. But hey, it's a nice place for a picnic when the crowds are gone, during the weekday.
I love V. Sattui Winery! I'm sort of surprised how a few rated this winery with two stars and described it as too "popular," "overcrowded," or "touristy." This is a winery for people who love being around social crowds, entertaining conversations, and great-tasting wine! If you want a secluded, seductive, romantic getaway type of winery, then maybe you should retreat elsewhere. V. Sattui can be romantic. A widely popular destination shouldn't make the winery unromantic, and a secluded place doesn't necessarily mean romantic. :)
V. Sattui is perfect for anyone who wants to taste different types of wine. The Main Tasting Room has a large, open atmosphere, which makes it a great place to taste wine with groups of friends, families, and even your lover. Next door, you'll see their store filled with lots of goodies, including free cheese tasting! Yes! Who loves cheese?! We do!! :)
The outside seating is surrounded by lots of lovely, old oak trees and during a nice summer day, you can enjoy the slight breeze while enjoying a glass of wine with loved ones. Picnic time. Woo hoo!

The one-stop-shop for all your needs. Perfect for all ages and preferences.
Picnic tables. Picnic grass area. Weekend outdoor bbqs. Winetasting. Rose garden. Water fountain. Open cellar. Gourmet shop. Deli counter.
V Sattui must: artichoke dip, duck mousse, flat crackers, off-dry riesling.
The deli offers a great variety of sandwiches, salads and other delectable treats. Just be aware that their signs list prices for HALF a pound of food, not one pound. We were quite shock to discover our stuffed portobello mushroom was almost $12 ($6/half lb). But it was dang good, so its okay.

Everyone has to agree, Napa is one of the most stress free places you can go, but if you're coming to Napa, you know you'll be spending lots of mula!! :D
V Sattui is actually one of my favorite deli and the most affordable places to go to. Like most people. I'm in love with their "Gamay Rouge." If you don't know what it is, it is a strawberry wine. Bursting with intense ripe strawberry flavors, the Gamay Rouge is the unique summertime wine, easy to drink by itself or an easy match with so many summer foods. Salads, sandwiches, barbecue, cheeses and fruits--practically anything you choose to eat outdoors. Or by itself.
They have a variety of selection on CHEESE!! O.M.G. It's to die for! And they also give you samples if you're not sure about the one you're going to buy. They also have plenty of green spots for you to park and eat all the delicious goodies! It may seem pricey, but it's definitely worth it!!
TIP: GAMAY ROUGE!

I absolutely love the Gamay Rouge and the Muscat and Muscati. I bought a case of each this past summer when we drove through. I'm going to make every last drop last until my next trip!
This is a great destination stop for a romantic weekend getaway to Napa. Their picnic area is also kid friendly. It was a nice stop on our way back from Los Angeles driving home... the kids were able to stretch their legs and chase the birds while we enjoyed some nice summer wine and cheese. Their deli selection is nice as well.
The wine tasting is reasonable and affordable.
I purchased a pink baseball cap from the market that says "Girl Gone Wine" and love it!
Wine tasting here is cheap, and fun... but very very very crowded. WIne tasting is $5 for 6 wines, $10 for 6 wines for a more reserved list. We got the $5 tastings, but our server was pretty cool and allowed us to try some from the reserved list. The wines are pretty good. They have a few sweet wines for those who like those, esp the people who are new to wine tasting.
Having been to this winery before, I knew that this is the place to be for lunch. It gets VERY VERY VERY crowded, so if you come here and you see the bbq line is very short... get your food then because more people will come any second... and you'll have to wait forever for your food. Mind you, there is also a deli inside where you can getfresh sandwiches, or cheese and crackers, meats, etc. But even inside is a very long wait. Their tri-tip sandwich, tho a steep $9 something, was sooo worth it. It was soooo delicious and BIG!! the Turkey leg was also gianormous.
Definitely come here for their bbq lunch, and make sure you snag a picnic table before it's all taken up. Or bring a picnic blanket to sit on the grass.

Absolutely beautiful.
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding at this beautiful winery this past weekend. It isn't overdone, or overly lavish. Just plain beautiful.
The food was superb. Best wedding food I've ever had. Staff was great. Wine was out of this world. I'm a picky wine person, and I tried everything they served. I can safely say that they were all GREAT! I bought a few bottles, since they are fairly priced, to take home.
Just a quick note about the location. It is easy to find, and in a great central location. However, since there is only one road in or out, give yourself enough time to get here, since traffic can really back up. It took us about 20 minutes to drive 4.5 miles.
I'll never forget V. Sattui because this is where I fell in love...with someone named GAMAY ROUGE...so sweet and goes with anything.
My friends & I were able to sample 8-9 wines for $5 per person. The guy poured us wines, starting with whites, then blush, then reds, then dessert wines. I think we were only supposed to sample 6 for $5, but we asked to sample a few other whites & as he happily poured, we happily sipped.
We bought a '05 Gamay Rouge for $20. We also picked up some macaroni salad & chocolate at the deli (both pricey as hell-a detail easy to overlook when that much wine is in your system) & sat at one of their picnic tables outside and had us a good ole' fashioned picnic (we had sandwiches from dean & deluca). The wind blew in our hair, the leaves rustled on trees above us and we kicked off our flip flops to feel the grass between our toes. It was quite a picturesque moment...then I fell to the grass & gave in to a glorious wine nap. Don't judge- you know you've all done it at least once before.

After being a bit tipsy from the Peju Providence Winery we stop by V.Sattui Winery for our next wine flight, amazingly crowded with people. Seems like you have to try to slip your way through the crowded people, but after that a warm outdoorsy place to have an afternoon tasting of their flight of wines. I had the chance to sit outside on the picnic tables and enjoy wines and cheeses as well as their meats and baguettes, I love the smell and taste of the "Gamay Rouge" and "Johannisberg Riesling" I however, had the opportunity to taste and took 2 bottles and a wine bottle-opener home along the way! I would come back and have a glass of wine on one hand and a best-sell romantic novel on the other hand...
I give this place A+ love my venture so far...
My favorite winery hands down. A must visit each time I'm in the wine country.
Laid back, fun for groups and tastings are very affordable. It gets a bit crowded, but who can blame them, this is the most visited winery.
My must-buys: Angelica, Gamay Rouge, Cab.S Preston Vineyard, Muscato. The bbq selection is fabulous also, a must try is the BBQ prawn skewer and the pizza.
i *heart* v.sattui.

For a wedding and reception, this was fabulous.
I did a "tasting" of V. Sattui's wines. In large quantities - at a wedding and reception for a good friend's daughter. I can't comment on the breadth of their offering, but what I had was great. What was greater was the wonderful job they did for the wedding and reception.
The wedding was in an Italian courtyard, surrounded by balconies and hanging vines. The reception was inside, in a great room keeping with the Italian motif. Caterers provided the food, so I can't give V. Sattui credit for that. But they made sure the flow was perfect. I haven't discussed it with him since the wedding, but I'm sure the father-of-the-bride is very happy with the event V. Sattui put on.

V. Sattui's older sister is Castello di Amorosa- and yes, if I was
V. Sattui i'd be jealous of that bitch, Castello di Amorosa.. which is beautiful as all hell!! But, V. Sattui, you're cute as all hell, too..
The ambiance at V.Sattui is so relaxing. They offer BBQ outside- tastings on the inside ( which was super crowded ugh).
Since the BF and I had been to a couple places before V.Sattui, we had wine in our system and therefore, were more social. Inside the tasting area, we met two hilarious "buzzed" cougar women, who just kept on going on and on about how great the server was, and how cute he was and blah blah.. and when it was time to serve my BF and I, the two ladies left, and that server they were raving about turned out to be SUPER snobby- ugh ( and not cute at all- jus my opinion tho).
Thank GOD their wine is good, and their picnic-like atmosphere is beautiful- cuz that server was rude.. you know, standing there waiting for the server to pay attn to us felt like i've been standing in a line waiting for a team to pick me for dodgeball, and being picked dead last.. YEAH, that feeling. =[ He was paying attn to everyone else but us..
overall, wouldnt return for the service, but def for the winery and wine itself.. i guess with such a beautiful place, you can have super snotty servers..?
