Free dinner...compliments of a work conference! Our table had a fixed menu, so family-style plates of food just kept coming and coming. AND COMING.

Started with the typical Italian style meats/cheeses/olives/bread -- tasty, salty, goodness. Next up was a salad which was plain, simple, yum. Portions were great...we could all eat as much as we wanted to.

Pasta course followed. We had two types -- i thought the linguini/eggplant number outshined the penne/chicken one for sure. Along with the pasta came a DELICIOUS ribeye and mashed potato/green bean plate. I was stuffed silly by this point.

Last thing to come out was a great tiramisu -- which I especially liked because it didn't really taste like liquor. (Not a big fan of the alcohol soaked desserts.)

Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area. Their bar looked well stocked and the place was nice and casual :)

A fairly large restaurant that can handle a large party (we had 10 girls) and takes reservations: +3

Decent food and wine list: -1

Affordable prices, especially for Napa: +1

Friendly service and live music: +0.5

Overall, 3.5 stars. The food was pretty good - nothing to rave about, but solid considering the affordable prices. Good for large groups, but there are also plenty of good restaurants a few miles down the road...

The service was excellent.  My margarita was REALLY strong.  Normally I have 2 in the night but that kept me busy for the whole evening.  I had the halibut over mash potatoes with a spinich cream sauce.  Kudo's to the chef!
We were seated by the band so it was a little difficult to hear your company but that might be a plus ;)
I would definitely go back!

This place is rawsome! Italiano excellente!
Great ambience as well, service was great. Great selection of napa's finest wines, I had the linguine & clams, one of the best I've had. Plus they have a killer bar lounge attatched with a small jazz band playing, a must visit for Italian in downtown Napa.

Hey, this is the ONLY place in the entire Napa Valley that's got live jazz and it's often good jazz.  A few stars for that.  It's unpretentious, a version of the classic family Italian restorante, albeit without the plastic checkered table cloths, and they do a savory job:  simple pizza, gnocchi, lasagne, etc, Caesar salad, whatever.  It's hoppin and friendly.  Several stars for that.  Get there early for a bar seat.  It's a success in a dying genre for the Napa Valley:  a local spot to gather and feel good.  One of the owners used to work at the French Laundry.  Thank god he chose to help out the non-billionaires with something special, if simple.

Food, Wine (list), wait staff, prices, atmosphere where all great!
Prices are on a par with other restaurants of similar quality but portions where large. Live music was wonderful although keep this in mind when you make reservations if you want a quieter location ask. Wonderful place will be back with friends and family.
One problem, not so much with the restaurant as with Downtown Napa, with all the great eating establishments in the area, parking on weekend nights can be a problem. Many nearby lots and off street parking, but they do fill up so if it's busy be prepared to walk a couple blocks.

Thanks to a business dinner, I was able to try out Uva. A large group of us (38) were seated in the back main restaurant with the bar.  The seating was a little tight as we had two rows of table against the corner.  But the service and charm of the restaurant made up for it quickly.  The venue itself is very large with three distinct areas: entry is adjacent to a smaller dining area, the large dining area which also includes the bar and stage.

Food: The bread plate was good but the olive oil and vinegar mix was just ok.  Luckily the drinks came quickly and boy do they know how to pour here!  I ordered the  Harmonious Fog which was a wonderful martini made of gin, elderflower and honey.  It was VERY strong and I ended up sipping this throughout dinner.  Not bad for a $15 drink (again also here on business so it's a good idea not to down these drinks too fast)! For starters we had the calamari, the antipasto Italian and the arancini (fried rissoto balls).  The calamari was decent - the aioli was spicy.  The antipasto was ok but the star of the appetizers was the arancini - YUM!  I could have a whole plate of this.  I was really happy to see Uva offered full and half plates of their entrees.  After indulging with a cup of the house minestrone (and most of the bread basket) I had a half plate of the rigatoni alla bolognese.  The pasta and meat sauce were the perfect ratio. And the smaller portion was perfect.  My seated colleagues next me had the ribeye, veal and pizzas: Calabrese and Four Cheese.  And all were happy.  I was disappointed I wasn't able to sample the gnocchi (no one ordered) or desserts (as we were all completely full). Which means of course that I will have to come back to Uva!

PROs:
- affordable food in downtown Napa (about $40 for appetizer, salad, glass of wine, and entree for one person)

- lovely live music

- outside seating during beautiful Napa weather

- outstanding service by the waitstaff. They made sure not to forget us while we were sitting outside

CONs:

- drunken guests leaving the restaurant. At least three different groups of very loud, drunken 40-somethings interrupted the beautiful ambience of the outside seating. At one point, three women and a creepy guy climbed inside of another patron's jeep and did a raunchy photo shoot. All this in front of a restaurant with a window-front view. Not okay!

- okay food. The Caprese Salad and Spinach salad were delicious. My boyfriend got the rabbit and enjoyed it. I got the roasted chicken with lemon and it tasted...well, poisonous. My waitress was wonderfully friendly, attentive, and helpful and quickly whisked the offensive food from the table and removed it from our bill. She even took it to the back and tasted it to see what was wrong. I like a waitress who takes her job seriously.

I'd recommend this place for the price, ambience (perhaps you should sit inside), and fantastic waitstaff. Just don't get the roasted chicken with lemon.

Not too expensive for downtown Napa.  Service was on point and the food was good.  I had the Kobe, veal & something-else house meatballs which were tasty and cooked to perfection.  The waitress was helpful in choosing the right wine for the meal.  And best of all, they had live jazz playing with dinner!  All the key ingredients for a romantic evening

We made reservations in advance for a large party of 14 and they were great about it. We actually changed the time of the reservation twice (within 2 days of the reservation) and the number of our party (to 11) and the restaurant was fine with that! They let us pick off the menu or be served family style. We chose off the menu and we had no problems! The service was great and so was the food!! Here are some dishes we ordered:
Fettuccine Alfredo: "best fettuccine alfredo I've ever had!" was what my friend said.
Caesar salad: yummy!
Linguine melazone: I'm not huge into pasta (but I needed the starches due to all the wine I'd consumed earlier that day) and it was fenaminal! The sauce was light and zesty and there was the right amount of eggplant in the dish, also wonderfully cooked and seasoned.
Off the special menu, a seafood dish: DELICIOUS!! The halibut was amazing, as were the clams and the shirmp. The salmon was really good. The sauce was the best part! I would dip the yummy bread they served prior to the meal in the sauce and eat it like that once I finished the seafood!
Minestrone: made with beef broth. I can't eat it, but my friend sure did w/ no complaints!
Creme brûlée: perfect, if you don't like creme brûlée to be overpoweringly sweet. It's creme's flavors were delicate and with the crunchy caramelized top layer it was magical.
Tiramasu: I hate tiramasu, but this was great!! The coffee nor the liquor flavors were too strong and it was perfectly sweet and I want some again just writing about it!
We had a great time! The restaurant is atmosphere is inviting, the service is great and the food is wonderful! What more could we ask for?

After all the nice things people say about UVA Trattoria, I had some expectations of this place.  I feel sad that the risotto was not up to snuff with all the risottos I've had.  The corn bits just overpower the taste of the risotto.  On the other hand, the seabass that was sitting on top of the risotto was nicely pan fried and cooked to perfection.

My wife's eggplant sandwich was blech.  Just plain ol' blech.  Nothing to write home about.

If it weren't for the sponge bread that they give you prior to your entrees, I would rate this place 2 stars.  The sponge bread is nice... very nice.  Dip it into the olive oil/vinegar and it's extremely nice.  So the tip is, order something cheap and just fill up on the sponge bread.

Awful - not going back.  Seated in bar area but live music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or the server during any part of our dinner.  Kitchen lost our order twice, we waited over 90 mins for our meal, server handled it very poorly and ignored our frustrations & hunger completely.  3 of the meals were good, 3 were not.  My seafood cannelloni was itzy bitzy tiny, way over priced at $18, I was still hungry after eating it and the seafood inside was WAY over cooked, rubbery & gritty.  It was a rotten evening.  We spoke up several times about our frustrations but server & mgr didn't care.

We drove 60 miles from Danville to have lunch thanks to you Yelpers and I was not disappointed.  This place was awesome.  Starting from the great customer service to the food.  We never felt ignored the whole time we were dining.  The lady was just a natural and made us feel at home.  A definite 3 stars for service.  We ordered the fried Calamari Fritti and Mare e Monti for Antipasti.  The Calamari Fritti was delightful-very clean tasting and fresh with the aioli sauce.  Mare e Monti was paired with bruschetta and cooked to perfection.  The wine infused sauce was a great dip for the crispy bruschetta.  The seafood was fresh too.  We also ordered the Pizza con Prosciutto and the Pasta: Spaghetti, fresh dungeness crab, lemon zest, mix chilie herbs (special).  The pasta was great and I don't even eat crab.  The pizza was just okay but the kids and wife loved it.

The only thing I was disappointed on was they didn't have the Osso Bucco or the Crispy pork on mint pesto risotto today.  Although, I like the antipasti I ordered.  I think its good advise to stick on the daily specials since these are made with fresh-er ingredients.

Minus 1 star for the okay pizza.

This is a casually classy restaurant that enjoys several Zagat ratings and even is even a Yelper Favorite. All you staple italian favorites! Browse the downtown Napa stores or hit the Vintner's Collective tasting room across the street before dinner and then hang out for the great entertainment. The greatest part is the prices. Delicious food for a good deal and very pleasant ambience.

You know how sometimes you'll have such an amazing time doing something that everything involved with it is remembered in a better light?  Well, Uva Trattoria Italiana is lucky to have been a part of an amazing night in Napa with my baby doll because BY ASSOCIATION I'm probably giving it a better review than it deserves.

We had to wait to be seated, which we didn't mind, but it didn't look THAT busy.  Then once we were seated and got our menus, it took a good 20 to 30 minutes for someone to take our order.  She actually apologized for keeping us waiting.  Luckily the jazz trio presented a nice background to our conversation, and they even played "You Go To My Head" at my request.  (I'm an old soul, and the song reminds me of the lightheaded feeling I get being around my date.)  :)

You're probably waiting for the food review, aren't you?  (Sorry, I like playing on the memory-go-round sometimes.)  Anyway, my date suggested that we try the risotto balls.  I don't think I've ever had them before and I REALLY liked them... probably more than she did.  So far, so good.  I ended up ordering the seafood cannelloni.  It was just okay, really.  And it was an EXTREMELY small portion.  I tried her salad but didn't think it was that great.

I do have to admit the atmosphere is pretty cool here.  Lots of framed, black and white photos of old and current jazz greats.  If the food were better, I'd give it four stars instead of three.

As I said, this place is lucky to be associated with a night I'll never forget... because if it wasn't for my date, the experience at Uva would be, well, forgetful.

Amazing experience.  Went to Uva last night based on a recommendation from a guy to whom ex #1 was selling an engine.  Turned out to be a really good experience for a number of reasons:

1. no corkage fee
2. a Safeway less than 3 min away driving
3. fantastic service
4. perfectly cooked pasta

I thought that the waiter would be annoyed since we were seated a couple minutes before 9:30p which is when the restaurant was supposed to close.  However, he was super friendly and easygoing and promptly brought us an ice diaper for our wine to chill.  He was attentive enough, but not overbearing and checked on the wine temp every so often, until we decided that warm wine be damned, we just wanted to imbibe.

It's a good environment.  We were seated in possibly the most romantic spot in the restaurant, corner under the speaker.  There was a family of four with two young kids nearby and a larger party of ~8 adults celebrating a birthday.  Come one, come all.  The kids at the other table ended up ordering some tiramisu, which led me to think, I don't think I had the slightest clue what tiramisu was at age 8.  Oh, the internet.

Back to the actual food consumed:
Their bread is yummy and soft, comes with the typical olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.  We shared a small calamari which was more than enough for two people.  I ordered a pasta with basil, sausage, mushroom, and a tomato cream sauce.  The boyfriend, fancy pants as he is, got some sort of seafood pasta to match the white wine we brought.

Like I said, perfectly cooked pasta.  Do you know how rare that is?!  Impeccable service!  Do you know how rare THAT is?!

He ended up tipping the guy over 20% because as he said, he puts "a premium on friendliness."  If you buy wine there, I'm sure the prices skyrocket accordingly, but our dinner bill came out to less than $50.  We were too full for dessert, but I could be tempted in the future...

Excellent!  I had to go to my ten year class reunion, so my girls and I decided to eat before going and they picked out this restaurant.  I am so glad they did, it was the best part of my night, if all I had to remember was that awful reunion I would feel so screwed.  We ended up ordering a spinach candied walnut salad that was pretty good, shared two different pastas and our weight in bread.  Not only was the food good, but the service was awesome, the waitress was very attentive and cool about us asking for bread every freakin minute.  I will definitely try this place out again when I'm in town.

The wife and I spent the weekend in Napa and decided to try Uva.  What a great restaurant.  The service was very good and the food was excellent.  The wife started wtih a sausage bologneses and then had a delicious veal scalaopine.  I opted for a cup of minestrone which was okay...probably not the best choice of starters.  For my entree I tried the filet mignon special which consisted of a perfectly cooked, medium rare filet atop a spinach and Gorgonzola risotto.  The atmosphere was nice and lively and they offer live jazz which is a bonus.  If you are staying in downtown Napa, Uva should be on your list of places to dine.

My wife and I had what could be called an early dinner here one afternoon, and the food itself was spectacular.

From their own home-made/fresh-baked bread rolls (seriously - we tried finding out where we could get more of the bread, but they told us they made it themselves) to the fresh pasta and the light, crisp Italian-style pizza, there wasn't really anything I could find wrong with the food.  Maybe that was because I was hungry...or maybe it's just because the food is that good.

The only thing I regret is not being in town on a night when there was live jazz (it was a Tuesday that I was there), since that seems to be one of the hallmarks of this place.

Definitely will have to come here again if I'm ever back in Napa.

Yesterday was our second time to Uva on a day trip to Napa. Last time it was a much worse experience than this time.

Atmosphere is nice and the prices are really good for Napa. The service is OK, because our waitress only came by every once in a while, but that was alright. I had the fettucini with chicken and mushrooms. It was creamy and really yummy. My husband had the Alaskan halibut special with potatoes and a basil cream sauce. He also liked his meal. We finished with their special cardomom creme brulee, which was really tasty.

Overall, I'm never really impressed by Italian food in general, but if I was in Napa again and Mustards was closed (like it was yesterday), then I would come back here as I see it was worth it.

The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely.  I chose here for the antipasti dishes and we ended up getting two - Oh, boy, I was so glad that I ordered both instead of choosing one. The other two dishes we had there was great as well (beef carpaccio and lobster pasta). Highly recommended for downtown Napa.

First off, I grew up in Napa. Second, I went to school with the owners of this restaurant. Napa's a small town when you're a local. But these local boys have really made their mark in a town where all restaurants are a cut above your usual fare.

Uva is a local spot. Meaning, most of the people who frequent the restaurant are people from Napa. This makes it a great spot to really see what Napa is all about. Not to mention, it's a good place to sleek away from the usual tourism and fanfare that's so commonplace of this locale.

But that's not to say tourists or outlanders are not welcome. It's just to say that the locals usually outnumber them here. That makes for a great atmosphere not had very often in these parts. That by itself is quite a treat for all.

But that's not the only reason to visit. The food is great too. The Risotto Balls are great. The Rigatoni Bolognaise is awesome (get it with a little bit of blue cheese crushed over it). And the Endive Salad is delectable when available.

What's also great about this restaurant, and different from all others in Napa, is that half dishes are available on many of the menu items. This allows you to have a meal that fits your appetite and pocket. Oftentimes, boxed up meals go uneaten because one forgets or the dish simply doesn't taste the same the second go round. This helps to curtail that issue.

I highly recommend this restaurant. But don't tell everyone, I'm still trying to keep it on the low-low...

I really like Uva, whether it's for food or just going to the bar and listening to music. The ambiance is great and it's so nice to be able to go to a place in Napa that actually has the kind of live music that isn't obnoxious.

I also think that the food is good quality and really yummy and the prices are fair. I enjoy going here with friends and on dates.

This review is for the bar, which on Valentine's Night was totally fun. We stopped in after dinner before heading back to our Inn, after recommendation from several locals when we asked for a "relaxed, local feel kind of bar."
A fun band, Swing 7, was playing  and got everyone up and dancing, my flirty friend made pals with Al who was about 75 years old, and played the trumpet. He had quite the sense of humor. In fact, the whole band was cracking jokes and playing my favs like "Straighten up and fly right" and songs from Tommy (Dorsey).

Bartenders were friendly, and tolerant, and did a good job of not leeting the bar overtake the diners. Tequila shots and a good selection of beers!

We had a party of three and called for a reservation at 5:30 on a Saturday - and they said they could accommodate us at 6:00 if we ready to eat early. All three of our party were glad that we took them up on the offer.
This casual, friendly restaurant serves very decent, simple Italian fare at modest prices. The servers were efficient, helpful and unpretentious. This is not the place to go if you're looking to be seen at the latest "trendy" spot in the Napa Valley - it's simply a great local (downtown) spot for southern Italian cuisine.
The Spaghetti frutti de mare, had a delicious, light tomato seafood stock served over fresh, house made pasta - cooked perfectly al dente' with slightly nutty, whole wheat flavors that were excellent. This dish had plenty of seafood too! I counted five good sized prawns, a half dozen tender, fresh tasting mussels, and the same number of manila clams.
A woman at the next table over was raving about her Linguine Vongole, as well. Many customers ordered seafood dishes, like Calamari fritti... a very good sign!
My wife loves roasted chicken and has become a bit of an expert (and critic) about restaurant poultry dishes... she thought the large, free range chicken breast at Uva Trattoria was among her top ten favorites.
My only regret is that our meal was finished (and we were very full) long before the live jazz started at 8:30. We'll book a reservation in advance and check out the band, next time!

Two things about myself make restaurant appreciation tough: The first thing is I know how to cook and I do it well. The second thing is simply that I have no money. Therefore, being able to appreciate a dish that I'm SURE I can make myself for a high price is just plain hard. This is the experience I had dining here.

I had the cheese ravioli with the browned butter and sage sauce. This is an easy recipe, and I was served about 4 or 5 small ravioli for nearly $10.00 (half order). Every bite cost me $2.00, forcing me to summon all the courage I could possibly muster to not cry in such a public place. The full order is perhaps a better value, at around $15.00 or so. The boy had the vegetable lasagna, which was good but not great.

After introducing the aforementioned boy to blood oranges so recently, we couldn't resist the blood orange tart for $7.00. This was the best part of our meal. The tart was a good size, plenty for two people to share. My only complaint is that the tart tasted more like it was filled with lemon curd instead of... blood orange curd? It's a good thing I'd kill a man for some good lemon curd, otherwise I would have been disappointed.

All things considered, this place is pretty okay. I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed. And that counts for plenty, in my opinion.

My grandpa, step mom, and I were looking for a place to eat and came across this place here on yelp. My step mom is from an Italian family, so we are wary about eating sub par Italian food. This place was far from sub par. My step mom ordered the gnocchi which was fabulous (the favorite dish among all three of us), I ordered the penne con salsicci (pasta with homemade Italian sausage) that I found to be terrific, and my grandpa ordered the lasagna (again, a great dish). I am a big eater, but the half order was enough for me and for my company. On top of all this, that service was fantastic. I am a server in a restaurant so I know good service, and our waitress just about knocked me out of my chair with service.

Overall a great experience, well priced if you shy away from the specials, and fantastic service. The Chardonnay by the glass was great as well.

Good atmosphere at this place. Very lively with live jazz at night.
I had a great time eating and being with friends at this place  near downtown Napa.
The food was good too. I had the Cannelloni which was good, but the portion was just a bit small for me. I should had what my friends had which were the special pasta and vitello piccata. Those where very appetizing.
We also had the calamari fritti which was a bit greasy. Definitely recommend this place if your in Napa and looking for a place to eat.
Good and friendly service, too.

Three stars for the food and a fourth for the ambiance.

I love that this place has live jazz, just about every night of the week. I love that the bartender didn't know what a French 75 was, but offered to look it up in "the book", I love that the food is consistently good and whether you're at Uva for a party, special occasion of just dinner you leave happy.

I've been here for a rehearsal dinner and the family style per person menu is by far the most reasonable and tasty in town. I've been here for drinks at the bar and it's the most casual yet nice place for a drink in downtown Napa. And most recently I was here for a small dinner party and while the server lagged, she tacked on a free dessert to make up for her tardiness. Fair enough. I appreciate when the server admits she's wrong.

The calamari and fennel is great! Gnocchi melts in your mouth and all the deserts are quite good. Match all of that with upbeat jazz in the background and you've got a restaurant with reasonable prices to be a fan of.

I would give Uva 3.5 stars. But since Yelp doesn't do half, I just felt wrong rounding down. So 4 it is!

Uva was part of a great mini-vacation with my fiance and parents. I found it to be cute, and it had a fun Italian atmosphere. The jazz band was a great touch. We didn't have to wait to be seated (but then again, it was a Wednesday night) and as soon as we sat down, our waitress was over ready to open up our bottle of wine (yay for no corkage fees!). The decor was nice, good ambiance, plenty of menu choices, good service... overall, pretty good.

Coming from San Francisco, I feel pretty spoiled in terms of food. I knew Uva probably wouldn't stand up to some of my favorite North Beach restaurants. It was kind of expensive, but luckily though they had San Francisco prices, they did NOT have San Francisco portions. Each of our four plates was piled high with food and we had trouble finishing it all. We started with caesar salads, which were alright, but I wasn't impressed. For our entrees, we had pasta pomodoro, skirt steak, a pasta special (with tomatoes, mushrooms...etc), and a sausage and cheese pasta. Overall, the food was good, the value was good... but as I feared, it just didn't stand up to the Italian food I'm used to eating. The sausage pasta was average, and the pasta special would have been great if the tomato sauce wasn't so overpowering. The mushrooms had such a great flavor but all I could taste was that sauce. Disappointing. The pasta pomodoro, though a pretty standard dish, was enjoyable, and the skirt steak was awesome and cooked perfectly.

Overall, I did enjoy my experience at Uva. If I was back in Napa and looking for something familiar, I would dine there again. It's not a bad option, but I'd be curious to see what else I could find in the area.

Place has good food. Their pasta and salads are served in two sizes. The bigger portion is enough to share between two people. We got a large salad and a large pasta.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Napa and found this place on Yelp. It seems like a place where a lot of the locals go to hang out on the weekends because we kept seeing people run into other people they knew. Not a very touristy place.

Wait staff was very friendly.

Don't sit too close to the music stage because a lot of drunk people may get up and start dancing and it is a little awkward to be sitting so close to them.

Good food and excellent service. I love their bread! Gnocchi with gorgonzola is my favorite.

Not touristy, so its a good place to go for locals or to avoid large, annoying crowds.

Live music most nights.

We came here Friday night before the Friday City Nights music thing-a-ma-bob down at Vets Park.

The risotto balls, still incredible, melt in your mouth good.  The Calamari, eh, there are other places that do it better, but they are all in Santa Rosa or Petaluma, so if you are in Napa, this is prolly as good as it's gonna get, which is still 4star tasty.

The proscuttio and arrugla salad was to die for as usual.

The gnocci with gargonzola was incredible

But once again the show stealer - the reason, of all reasons to come to UVAs..  the ravioli's.  Ricotta and herb with a brown butter and crispy sage sauce.  The most amazing ravioli's ever.  EVER.  I dream about these things.

Wine list is love, with a good wine by the glass list, and I like that the italian wines, have a sort of dictionary about them for the less versed in Italian wine (I'm good, but my dining companion isn't as into Italian Wines, and found the list helpful.)

The creme brulee and coffee for dessert were awesome too.

Service was incredible, and we were there when it was very very busy with several large parties around us, and we lacked for nothing.

Why not 5 stars? I can't stand the bread/olive oil dip or the other wierd little crackers with crap ontop they serve when you first sit down.. I like a good bread with my meal, and theirs doesn't cut it.

Uva was wonderful. I had the special, osso bucco with risotto and it was fantastic.  The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself was very well kept.  If you are traveling through Napa Valley like I was...this is definitely a place I'd stop by for dinner.

We found this place after asking for a reasonably priced restaurant recommendation from our favorite winery in Napa, Turnbull. They suggested this place and it was great! I had the four cheese pizza, which I really enjoyed. The service was very attentive and helpful. I also liked the fact that they bring out several free appetizers; their bread and olive oil sauce was particularly tasty and well needed after a long afternoon of wine tasting.

We also had the best dessert ever - a peanut butter pie with chocolate shavings and crust. Unfortunately, it was the special of the day so I'm not sure how often they serve it. I'm still craving that pie and it's only 9:30am in the morning!

Also, if you're on a budget this place is VERY reasonable. They offer half-meals, which was plenty enough for my husband who loves to eat. You don't have to sacrifice your taste-buds for the price, either. I think we paid about $30 total for everything (drinks, dessert, two meals).

The ambiance of this place is cool, too. Very relaxed and totally unpretentious. A gem in the over hyped, super pretentious Napa valley!

Interesting Italian spot in the heart of Napa.  Fairly large, with several rooms of seating.  Main room consists of a bar with a small stage setup for live music.   Alot of the appeal of attending this spot seems to be the live jazz music.   Fun and lively, the walls of Uva are absolutely covered with photos of famous stars and musicians.  Being in Napa, they of course have an extensive wine list.   Wait time was long and the place was packed.    Seemed to be one of the more popular spots in Napa.   While the food was good, pretty standard Italian fare, my real problem with the place was the server.   How do I say it nicely, she was forgetful and clumsly.   She attempted to take our orders down without pen and paper, oops!   Long story short, appetizers came out wrong, entrees were messed up, I received a plate of ravioli when I ordered the lasagna and she had trouble uncorking the wine.   Too bad, because terrible service can really ruin a dining experience.   But the food was pretty good, music was lively, so I will give it 3.5 stars and perhaps venture back next time I'm in Napa to give it another go-around (hopefully new server).

This is a great location restaurant - not too fancy but nice enough for a date night, plus the food is good.  My girl usually gets the gnocchi and I get the seafood pasta or whatever special they have.  They also waive corkage for every bottle you order, so we generally buy a white and bring a nice red.
