I skipped out on a day of snowboarding to rest, and decided to check out the Olympic Park.  I had never been to an olympic venue, so it was fun to see everything.  I participated in the one hour guided tour, which was $7 for adults.  I highly recommend the tour, especially if you go in the winter when it's really cold out.  I was even fortunate, that on the day I visited, the US and Belarus aerial teams were there practicing, so we also got a free show.

Once you see the different event venues, you definitely have a new found appreciation for olympians.  It's just amazing what they have to do to perfect their events!

If I go back in the summer, I will definitely check out the zip lines.  They look like some of the longest zip lines that I've ever seen.

Since the rest of my group had the rental car, I thought I'd walk to Olympic Park from my hotel.  My hotel to the base of the park's street was very close, but it turns out the Olympic Pkwy is a rather steep street, so a 2 mile walk that should take 20-30 minutes, ended up taking me about 45-50 minutes instead.  I recommend that if you don't have a car, take a cab!

Never had done this park in all the years we've had a house here.   But this past summer I did the bob sled run, and it was epic!

How do you illustrate the the intense feelings and emotions you feel when pure adrenaline is pumping through your blood?

The zip lines, the summer ski jumping, the alpine slide, and the luge!?!?!      Sweetness.

Don't take my word for it, just go.

I had a great time here this summer (we went in June). Parking was not a problem at all, and it's free to enter! But to ride any of the rides (ziplines, alpine slide, etc) you do have to buy a package. I believe it comes in gold, silver, and bronze package levels. I bought a bronze one for $25 and rode the smaller zipline and the alpine slide. My boyfriend got the silver ($40) and rode both ziplines (one is much longer and starts higher up) and the alpine slide as well. After we were done with those activities (which did not take long at all, there weren't any lines), we just lingered a little and watched skiiers do aerial jumping into the pool.

I do wish we had stayed a little longer and toured the building, ski museum, and gift shop, but that was pretty much all we did. Overall it was a pretty quick little trip but I had a great time. The zipline was my first time going on one and the smaller one was perfect for me - it wasn't too far up, didn't go over any trees, and I felt it was still fun. The second zipline goes much higher up and you take a longer ski lift up there. My boyfriend went on this one and had a lot of fun - you go over a few trees and it's much longer.

Fun to be a spectator! What excitement to have been in Park City for the Winter Olympics. They have a free museum that reports the events from the Olympics and the history of winter sports and growth in that area. They have some interactional exhibits too.

The main draw is the training aspect. We enjoyed watching people train on their jumps into the pool. Another draw are the zipline and alpine slide. I didn't do either, but many people were in line to buy tickets.

Like others have noted, great view, fun stop. Go and enjoy!

    This place is Awesome.

We swung by on a whim not knowing what to expect. We arrive to see people slingin' down hills and somersaulting into the pool. Well, somersaulting, back flipping, cartwheeling, cannonballing. Generally any type of gymnastic activity that, paired with skis, looked like it could leave you crippled, these guys were doing.

That plus 2 zip lines, an alpine slide and we didn't even get to try the luge.

If it was this much fun in summer it'd be a blast during the winter!!

REALLY fun way to spend an afternoon in the mountains! We came here wanting to the the "extreme zipline". This was such a fun activity, and offered gorgeous views of the mountains and park city.  This is a great place to bring out of towners and get them doing something fun in the mountains.  We  sat for awhile and watched the ski jump training. They jumped right into a pool! this was really fun to watch and made us really want to learn how to do it. Maybe next time....

The boys did the bobsled ride which they said was awesome. I passed on that activity since the altitude was starting to affect me- but would definitely go back and do it.

You can definitely spend an entire afternoon here doing all the different activities they offer.

I came here for the alpine slide. I was surprised to see that there was also an alpine ride and a zipline ride.  The resort itself is very nice with plenty of shops and food. The alpine slide was slower than I expected it to be but it was still very fun. A single ride is 11$.

VERY interesting to see the athletes training on jumps into the pool. Very cool museum and take the tour! Also if you have the guts, very cool zip line and even a bobsled run!! Summer too, on wheels. Stand on the very top of the ski jump and wonder how they do it!

Not great if you go in an off time of the winter. While we were there, there was only a kids class training on a small terrain park jump. The skeleton/bobsled track was covered and you couldn't see. And also the museum was just ok.

I guess it would be great if you were coming to experience bobsledding or the zip line, but otherwise, it was just ok.

Interesting place to visit!  I feel special to have watched the national team train for the skeleton and luge.  Hopefully one of the few names inbedded in my head will win gold!  These guys were zooming at 78-81mph through turns.

If you were interested in bobsledding, there were coupons for $70 per person to take a ride through the turns at 80mph G4 speeds.

The museum had a lot of history on the 2002 olympics, skiing, and snowboarding golden age.  We also got to sit in a bobsled and luge.  Definitely an awesome place to visit.

OMG!!  Did the Olympic Bobsled Run with my Fiance.  What an incredible ride!!  We topped 77mph, I totally felt the 5G force pulling us downwards.  It literally is one of the most intense minutes of my life.

They explain to you that you can/will walk away with pain, bruising, headaches, but I am okay... I just feel a little bit of back pain.  They explained that an invisible hand pushes you into the 4-man bobsled and you have to do your best to keep your back erect and your head from rattling.

The staff there are extremely knowledgeable, proficient and efficient at what they do.  This is definitely not for the faint of heart.  Yes it's pricey at $200 per person, but it's a once in a lifetime experience.

My son and I read about the zip line at Olympic Park and decided to give it a try. When we got there, training was going on for ski jumps. All training is done with ski jumps that go into the pool . It was great watching these youngsters do some pretty acrobatic moves in the air. We walked down further and got our tickets for the xtreme zip line. We got on the lift that takes you up to the top of the highest point. There was no waiting. We were strapped in and on our way. Wow! what a great ride. We loved it so much, we went back for a second ride (at half price). There are four zip lines up there, so we took the other two this time. We went much faster on these two lines, haling down with a great view, gusts of wind blowing us around a bit. It was awesome!
Next time we come to Park City, I'm trying the Alpine Slide here.

As I'm currently watching the 2010 Winter Olympics, the broadcasters are constantly mentioning about certain athletes that have trained at Olympic Park in the city of Park City, Utah.  With this information, it brings back my memories of attending Olympic Park and my fondness for the Winter Games.

I visited Olympic Park in Utah back in the Fall of 2008 as a tourist, so I cannot rate this place as a training athlete; but as a spectator, I had a huge appreciation for this establishment as the venue for specific 2002 Olympic events and as a training ground for future Olympians.  When Salt Lake City won the opportunity to host the Winter Games for 2002, this park was specifically constructed to serve as the venue for the Nordic Jump, sliding events, Bobsled, Skeleton and the Luge.  When I attended Olympic Park, I was able to witness specific folks using the course; which was really fun to watch!  There are still logos of the 2002 Winter Olympics splattered throughout the entire park, given you a vicarious feeling.

I was also able to visit their museums, which has a fair amount of history and actual memorabilia from the 2002 Winter Games.  If you happen to be in Utah and are a big fan of the Olympics, I highly suggest you to make a trip to Park City and visit the history & future of the Olympics at Utah's Olympic Park!

The Olympics is always a great piece of history, so just having an Olympic venue here in the US is a blessing! So being on the property was just exciting. Last time I was in the area, they were already closed (the museum and tour). I had to take pictures from the road and I ran past the parking gates just to take pictures in front of the museum.

The museum is a great archive of the 2002 Utah Winter Olympic memorabilia. From US team uniforms to costumes used at opening ceremonies. There's a museum section on the first floor, with a film to watch and little activities you can play around with. At the end of that exhibit, you can take a photo and send an e-card for free. You can do a group picture or a solo photo. It was great! Send yourself an e-card so you can print a copy as a souvenir.

We had left the park and headed to the Tanger Outlets. I was fortunate to be AAA member and get the coupon book there for free, instead of paying $5 for the book. I found a buy one get one coupon for the Olympic Park Tour. Since we weren't too far and the rain subsided, we went back for the tour. It saved us 7 bucks! It's $7 for adults and $5 for seniors. The tour is a definite must see. The tour bus takes you from the museum to the base of the ski jumps. That's just an amazing view of the jumps. Then we headed up to the ski jump, making a stop at the luge and bobsled courses. Can you imagine those concrete runs embedded with refrigeration stuff? They are. How else could they ice up the concrete. Just an amazing piece of architecture. We arrived to the top of the ski jumps and didn't realize how high it was! What a view! Both of the Park City area, which really isn't much but still beautiful, and the view all the way down to where we were at the base. The tour guide was informational and was worth the $10 we spent.

At the desk where you purchase the tour tickets, you're able to complete a survey and receive a 2002 Utah Winter Olympics highlights DVD for free. Which I could have visited when there were activities happening. Try to plan you visit here, because there are teams and olympians that practice here. There are various jump pools. I didn't realize that they practice during the summer. There are smaller jumps near the museum that land into a pool. Who would have thought?! There are also classes there too, if you want to spend about $15000/year.

Ok, based on the bobsled ride alone, 5 STARS.

My friend and I actually spent a good 6 hours there (we didn't plan to).

I'm going to review the bobsled ride first...then talk about the rest of our visit there.

Bobsled ride was really amazing.  It's a pretty steep cost at $200 per person.  Someone here on Yelp was saying that there are coupons...but I didn't find such a thing.  Called a bunch of hotels, they all said they don't exist.  I also checked out that lobby where the museum is, and nothing there.

The ride itself is a lot of fun.  It's really hard to describe the feeling you have on the sled.  It is definitely a "violent" ride, super shaky the whole way down, and you get knocked around a whole lot.  I would even be hesitant to compare it to a roller coaster, it's a lot worse.  Ton's of fun, and worth the $$.  I think I would do it again for $100.

Side note, they also offer $50 skeleton rides as well, I really wanted to do that, but they've been sold out for quite some time.  I would recommend it if it's available.

The rest of the Olympic Park is pretty cool.  We went on the tour there (comes free with the bobsled ride, ~$7 without) which was pretty cool.  You can do a free self guided tour, but with the guide it's obviously a lot more informative.  Our guide was really knowledgeable about the entire facility and a lot of the winter sports.  The highlights of the tour was probably being at the top of the K120 Nordic Jump, and also seeing the bobsled and luge starts.

After the tour, we checked the Ski Museum.  It was aiiight.  It was more for kids.

They also have an exhibit dedicated to the '02 winter games.  That was kind of cool, they had a bunch of props from the opening ceremonies.

Overall the place is pretty cool, but the bobsled ride put it over the top.

I may not know how the Jamaicans feel when they filmed "Cool Runnings", but now I know how lots of G-forces feel after riding this cool bobsled when I was visiting Park City. My bobsled's top speed was 79.6MPH and there were so many turns and no, it's NOT like rollercoasters. There is NO word to describe the feelings you got as you rode on this crazy comet. For you guys out there seeking adrenaline rush activity, you have to do this at least once in ur life!!!Now I can check my list off for bobsledding!!! Next one will be hang-gliding!!!

This is actually better than we had expected.  You must go when the athletes are training.  Call ahead.  1x/wk. there is also a 30min. spectacle of the short jumps into the pool.

On the tour, you can see the top of the serious 120meter jumps, the bobsled and luge.  Can't do that everywhere.

zip lines may be closed after a rain.

Do the bobsled run.  $150ea. w/coupon scam from visitor's bureau at bottom of hill.  Go 80mph down a small ice chute in a fiberglass shell with a full-face helmet.

Literally carved out of a huge mountainside, this is where they hosted the ski jumping, bobsledding, luge, and skeleton events for the '02 Winter Olympics.  Now it serves as a major all-weather national competition and training center for aspiring olympians.  When I came here last September, the place was in full swing with winter sports training...without any snow.  Winter olympians roll hard in the summertime too: nordic jumpers slide down a slick synthetic material, fly through the air and land on the grass.  In fact, the longest jump ever recorded, winter or summer, was in the summer on a synthetic and grass jumping surface.  The free-style ski jumping badasses do their acrobatics into a humongous 750,000 gallon pool equipped with air jets to ensure a soft landing.  There are kids jumping on trampolines everywhere.  My friend and I rode down the intimidating zip lines, apparently the steepest in the world, and there's an alpine slide as well.  A really fun place to check out any time of year.
