I went here to ship out a first class package and already weighed it at home using a scale. However, when the employee weighed it at the post office, the scale added half an ounce to it, which increased the shipping cost exponentially because it forced the delivery from first class to priority mail.
It seemed odd for my package to weigh that high so I asked if she could re-weigh it. She seemed to not want to until I insisted that I weighed it at home already. Upon re-weighing it on their scale, the package showed the correct weight that I was expecting so I was able to pay for first class delivery. It's odd that the first weight was different form the second re-weigh despite my package not having any moving objects. I would recommend they recalibrate their scales or make sure the tare weight is zero before weighing any packages.
There was plenty of parking in their private lot, but the gravel road is pretty roughed up. Do not leave by driving on SE 14th ave because the pavement divot is not smooth so your car's front will hit the pavement hard.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - Bryan C.Eugene, OR05Oct 7, 2022
Not the fastest of service, recommend going not at rush hour. Location and parking are decent

What a nice staff! They are always patient, helpful, and good humored. Every time I have visited this location the women behind the counter are teaching me new tricks on how to ship gifts the least expensive way to my grandchildren, who now live in another state (insert very sad face here, but I love Oregon).
Parking is free and right out front.
I promise I will fill out their online questionnaire to ensure this location!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sara S.Portland, OR38160182Oct 2, 2012
The postal workers here are consistently pleasant and super friendly.
I like that it's within walking distance from my house, so I only have to travel an extra 3 blocks to drop off heavier-than-13oz packages.
The waiting-in-line time is average post office waiting-in-line time, so there's that...
But the cheerful employees totally make up for the dullness of waiting in line.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lane M.Portland, OR2401Feb 14, 2017
I have to take a small armful of boxes from work to this location. Maybe once a week, sometimes only every other week. For a year now. The fella here, he's ok. Ok. But the lady, holy shit, could not be more unpleasant and rude. I have prepaid boxes. I want to leave them on the counter and not clog up the lobby needlessly. But they'd rather sigh and roll their eyes when I try to do this. This is a standard thing, dropping prepaid boxes at the counter somewhere. I'm not looking for special treatment with this. But these fucking employees here act like it and are thee worst. Hate this post office.

"Um, that's it? I'm done? Cool!"
this tiny little post office hidden in an aging strip mall may just change the snake-line from hades image of the post office that everyone has in their minds. albeit i try to avoid any 9-5 monday-friday business on friday afternoons (i'm old, i have things to do, like getting fitted for my dentures....) any other day i've been there there's been one other person at most.
the 2 guys in the back have some kind of spider sense & pop up out of nowhere to weigh your packages, sell you stamps, or toss out a joke. while chatting you up their hands are a blur & suddenly, you're done. free to wander the streets on your own recognizance. you might even find yourself with a goofy smile on your face & a strong compulsion to say, "Have a nice day!" to whomever comes across your path...just no bursting into song. they have ordinances against that.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Molly E.Portland, OR3386101Sep 29, 2011
I always have great service here. Even when the line is long, the clerks still seem patient and surprisingly jovial.
They don't get the fifth star simply because I HATE its inconvenient location. I only check my PO Box once a week because it's not worth the 4 block drive around the overpass. I know, I know, call me lazy, but it irks me that they are one block past the lane divide! If all post offices were located like this, I could see that single handedly being responsible for the downfall of the USPS. Boo, city planning...!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark H.Birch Bay, WA61657145Dec 20, 2010
Best post office in Portland. Very friendly, cheerful staff.

I never noticed this branch before, as it's not very visible from the main roadway, and kind of tucked back in the corner of a small parking lot. It's a small branch, but Dana, the postal agent on duty, was as friendly and professional as could be. I was initially disappointed that there were no PO boxes available at another branch where I'd hoped to do business, but it seems this was for the best. I'll enjoy using this branch instead.

This 'Post Office' is my idea of hell. There is always a line of at least 7 people, and, despite usually having at least two people on staff all the time they will never put more than one person dealing with customers. They have an incredibly unhurried approach to service, even when the line is snaking out of the door. I don't think it's ever taken me less than 35 minutes to do anything here. aaaargh. I feel like like I'm in a Kafka play...
