Switched over to U.S. Bank when the wife and I merged accounts. It was just as well, WaMu was getting a little too plebeian and aggressive in their sales tactics. (I guess we see where that got 'em.)

As a whole, U.S. is decent (can't hold a candle to credit unions). They'll do until I get a Swiss bank account. Unfortunately service at this particular branch always sticks in my craw.

At first glance, they APPEAR aligned with their "5-star customer service" mandate, but this just doesn't play out in their services.

The problem is, there's RARELY, if ever more than 2 counter tellers (1 after 5:00PM). While this appears sufficient for a corporate-lobby branch, one of the tellers is INEVITABLY a trainee who can't handle anything more than a simple deposit or cash draw. As a result, if a customer has something complex, the entire show goes down to one window. Read: Recipe for frustration.

To amplify the problem, there's always at least 2 desk jockeys in there ready and willing to handle the high-value clients. To their defense, one of these will usually pop up to the growing line and ask if anyone has a transaction that doesn't require cash. Inevitably, we don't.

This is the point at which--in a perfect world--Johnny McDeskJockey would hop to the counter, stoop to the role of teller and get things moving. Never so. Apparently this is verboten in U.S. Bankland.

As a result, I find myself waiting in line longer than necessary for my cash. If any U.S. Bank Corpos are trolling this, pay heed. Change this policy and you could be so much better.
