All I can say is... I had a GREAT experience with them!!! I would highly recommend them if you KNOW what you want!

After shopping around quite some time for our wedding flowers I was a little disheartened because it was SO expensive and... I had the feeling they did not really listen to me! One guy even told me I should consider raising my budget so the florist would be interested at all to do the job!
At Urban flowers I said: We want to keep it simple, but colorful, playful & a little wild :)!  I walked in, looked at the flowers, told him what my idea was, he told me to come back the day before the wedding, no problem. One day before our wedding I walked in together with my sisters, picked the flowers we liked, they had everything, as promised and 15min later we left the store while he was already working on my bouquet! The next day when I came to pick the flowers up I needed a few more boutonnieres, no problem.
I git exactly the flowers I wanted and paid fr everything as much as other would have charged only for the bridal bouquet (approx. 140USD)!
Thank you so much Urban Flowers, I will be back :) !

We decided to get our wedding flowers here and it turned out to be a great experience.

They have great prices (1/2 of others in area) and flowers seem to last longer. Staff can be a little unhappy at times, but for the 1/2 the price and better product I will deal with unhappy :) and walk out with fresh flowers

I heart Urban Flowers today.
I am looking at my don't-get-me-sick-baby flowers and am smiling among the Dayquil Daze.  I know they didn't cost too much because he also bought me lunch and cold meds.  Colorful mix to cheer me up with blemish free petals.  Yellow and purple mixes with soft and wild textures are some of my favorites out of the bunch.
Thank you.

This is my favorite place to buy flowers!  I always get them from here.  You can get a bouque of star gazers from here fro $12.  They always last me about two weeks.  I have  The birds or paradise last about the same also.  If you are looking for a great gift, they sell orchids.  I think that I've bought 3 or 4 of them.  They are about $20 a plant.  Very good buy!  I also used them for flowers for my wedding.  I will not buy flowers anywhere else.

Got my wedding bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres here.  They were beautiful.  Urbano did exactly what I asked and better, no hassle, and ready on time.  Very reasonable price too.  Don't bother with those overpriced wedding florists, Urbano does beautiful flowers for half the price.

While this is not my go-to shop when I need a fabulous bouquet for a date, it is a great local place to grab some quick flowers to fill my apartment.  I bought several things exactly 1 week ago today... gerbers, calas, tiger lily, and hydrangea.  Out of all of them... 1 stem out of 2 of hydrangea was wilted after 6 days... the rest are still fairly healthy and just starting to show signs of wilt.  One week and going is pretty good bang for your buck.  Of course you can't expect that, if you don't take some basic care to trim and change your water.

The guy running the place has always been friendly, when I've been browsing and always asks if I need anything to round out my choices or if I want him to arrange it.  Luckily, I have a decent hand for simple arrangements; but it's always nice to have someone offer.

I called ad spoke to Urbano, the owner. I needed an estimate for floral arrangments for my entire weddings. I needed 8 table arrangements, two bouquets, 12 corsages and boutonniere's and he said it would be about $400.00 and to come in at least two days before the event. I want in three days early, spent over an hour picking out all the flowers, the vases, which he said I had to buy, asked for the total and he saidit was over $600.  So I asked him to break it down for me to explain the discrepancy and he had a fit, telling me he was already doing me a big favor because he isn't even supposed to be working today! Also he felt the need to tell me how macho and straight he was, as if I cared. Then he told me and my mom and my sisters to "Just get out". We had just spent a lot of time there, I was really busy with wedding stuff, and I just wanted to work it out, but he refused to even discuss it. When I asked him why, and he said "because of your face, something funny".  Finally I just gave up. and my mom stayed to try and calm him down, to no avail. I would NEVER, EVER go back there.

By the way I got awesome flowers at "Not Just Flowers" one block away, The couple that owns the place are really sweet, they delivered the flowers and even threw in the vases for free, all for $438. Everything was just perfect. Thank you so much Not Just Flowers.

My favorite flower shop in the city. It carries all the bizarre-looking Martian-style flowers that I love so dearly, and it's extremely affordable compared to the legion other flower shops in the neighborhood.

I am feeling a little guilt lately about how far most flowers travel in order to get here and dress up my coffee table (flowers are lightweight so it's cheaper just fly them in from China or Thailand or South America than to bother and grow them here, in paradise.)  But if I ever find a good source of locally grown flowers, my heart might just get stolen away.

Rooms filled with beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers make me happy.  Overpaying or lesser quality stems that suffer premature deaths do not.

Thankfully, there is Urban Flowers.  They have a large selection, reasonable prices, and can put together a gasp-worthy emergency bouquet in less time that it took you to realize that you forgot your mother's/grandmother's/best friend's/lover's birthday.  Phew!

I bought my blooms for our holiday festivities here, after hearing many recommendations for the place.  Parking was somewhat challenging, but not impossible, and I was able to calculate how many extra truffles I could eat after huffing my way up the steep incline to my car.  I call that win-win!

Friendly and fast service, and an all-together nice experience.  Pretty is as pretty does, indeed.

I heart Urban Flowers so much.

My sweet husband buys me flowers from here once in a while (not even for being bad!) and since i've moved to the 'stro I've taken to buying them for the house once a week. My honey buys cute "for my wife" flowers like tulips and lilys and I buy funky things like freesia and snapdragons.

I have no idea what anything is, but the owner Juan is really friendly and helpful and each week I learn the name of a new flower.

They have a great selection and I adore having fresh flowers in the house for the change I get back after a coffee at philz. Seriously, $5-$8 makes me happy, boys and my house smells great! Try it. Your significant others will thank me.

Check them out for a wedding too, I've seen some arrangements they did on the way out and they were amazing!

Sean S. is a hawt man. Not only is he hawt, he's extremely thoughtful and brought me a lovely bouquet of mixed flowers for my birthday, which was weeks ago...and yet, they're still alive!!

Every morning, I get up thinking, "Today's the day they'll die and I'll be forced to throw them out."  And every morning, I walk upstairs and yell at my husband like Dr. Frankenstein, "THEY'RE ALIVE...ALIIIIIVE!!"

After the second week, I started to TRY to kill them, just to see if they were real.  I squished the buds with my fingers, stopped adding water, yelled obscenities and insults at them.

And yet, they live!

There are only a couple of reasons these flowers may be un-killable.

1) Sean is an alien being, and the flowers are from Inter-Planetary System X-3798 of the Zarthorogon Sector.

2) The flowers are going to grow into pod people, eventually suck the human blood out of me, take my form, and then start writing useful reviews on Yelp.

3) They exist only in my mind.

I'm gonna go with #3...until my HUSBAND buys me a new bouquet.  (I KNOW YOU'RE READING THIS, PUNK!!)

Open Sundays!

When Sean S. gave my hawt wife a pageant-worthy bouquet for her birthday I knew where he got it. For several hours of food, drink and karaoke, they were appreciated and (we thought) soon to be mourned. Remember that study about plants flourishing to classical music and wilting to cacophanus wailing?

Not so!  Try as we might with our incessant caterwalling, a week later they look as vibrant and beautiful as they did when he handed them to her and gave her a big kiss. Yeah, we're cool like that.

Urban Flowers are excellent, but I'm gonna put Jay and IQ on speaker if they ever start to droop.

I decided to go here because Church Street Flowers didn't have my girlfriend's favorites.
They have a large assortment of beautiful flowers and the staff was friendly and helpful. He helped me pick out the perfect bouquet to be delivered on Valentine's day. I ordered purple irises as the main flowers, with various white flowers, and some rare purple/blue/green-ish flowers in a round vase.

Now, let's fast-forward to V-Day (about 2 weeks later)

My GF opened the door and my eyes go straight to the flowers. *blink blink* "are those from me?" Unfortunately, they were. The bouquet looked nothing like what I ordered, it didn't even have the irises! Crammed into a small rectangular vase were - white flowers, with a few purple flowers, and one yellow flower in the middle??? Not worth the $50 that I spent!

Good place for picking up some last minute flowers but don't ever place an order for delivery.

Not only is there an abundance of choices, there are also specials for opened flowers (about 1/2 price).  I have bought a couple of orchid plants here as well, and they are still kickin' and lovely.  My last orchid is about 3 feet tall and has tons of blooms.  I bought it for $25.  Great deal right?  I feel like a French woman walking home with my flowers.

Urban Flowers is my personal Neverland Ranch - minus the dirty touching. I'm always overwhelmed by their beautiful selection of quality flowers. The only negative is that I can never decide what I want so I end up pacing around the store in a haze of indecisiveness. Proteas? Hydrangeas? Multi-colored Cala Lilies? French Tulips? Mums? Roses? ARG! I MUST HAVE THEM ALL!

What makes Urban Flowers amazing is that if a special flower catches your eye the staff will help build an arrangement around it. Custom arrangements at no additional charge!!

It pains me to write this. I've come to realize that even though they are cheap, even though they come with great service, and yes, even though are bought at the best named flower shop in the city....they just don't last as long as those I've bought elsewhere. I hope others are having better luck.

What's a gay man supposed to do when he didn't read the chapter on flower arranging in his "how to be a good gay man instruction book"?  Easy come to Urban Flowers and let a straight man arrange them for you!

It's in their blood.  They know how to put them together.  I have walked out with $20 bunches that easily would go for double that in other parts of town.  In fact just go to Noe Valley and my point will be proved.  I have three florists outside my apartment door in Noe but I go up over the hill for a much better deal, fantastic service and great flowers.

Apparently I am not the only Yelper who feels the same way.  I only saw two negative reviews.

1. She bought flowers on Valentines Day.  The likelihood of the flowers being screwed up on this Hallmark holiday are pretty good.  Sometimes the supply of flowers you wanted two weeks before the day are not available so they substitute.  This person should have just returned the flowers.

2. The second bad review shouldn't even be posted in this section.  It's not the flower shops fault that his customers double park.  Dude you live in the Castro.  Deal with it!  I wonder if you even have a car?

URBAN FLOWERS ROCKS!

Let me be clear - this is a biased review based on factors unrelated to the quality or pricing of their flowers.  Indeed, they seem to have a lovely selection, know their products well, and are priced appropriately.

No, this is a rant complaining about them as a neighbor.  As you can imagine, parking is very tight here in the heart of the Castro.   We all accept that to live in a vibrant neighborhood. Most merchants understand the delicate balance, and take great efforts to get their patrons to behave appropriately (regarding parking, noise, blocking sidewalks, etc.)

So Urban Flowers is a bad neighbor, and should not be patronized for that reason.  Their patrons routinely double, triple park, park on the sidewalks, park in driveways, park in front of 2 garages at a time.  Apparently Friday evenings bring on many "floral emergencies."  As a neighbor, it is a real drag, and none of the other merchants here create nearly such big problems.

And UF is not very sympathetic.  When complained to they just say "Not our fault - its the shoppers." They don't hvae any signage up asking that patrons be respectful.

Listen, we all have to live and let live. When I moved to the Castro 7 years ago I knew there would be some hassles associated with it.  Halloween, Pride, New Years, Castro Street Fair, etc.  But those are very occassional.  UF is a constant thorn in my side, and they just don't seem interested in living up to their half of the bargain.

Do everyone a favor and find another shop.  Reward the good, punish the bad.

I am thrilled with Urban Flowers.  I have mentioned before how I can look at plants and kill them, so buying flowers for a special occasion is a cause of some stress to me.  The staff at Urban Flowers have always been incredibly helpful, and kind, too.  They have assembled very, very beautiful selections, despite my complete lack of assistance and knowledge of things with petals. They helped me put together an awe-and-allergy inspiring bouquet of lillies for a mock funeral, a lovely selection of irises and roses (who knew those went together?) and so many others.  I am thankful.  Also, a friend of mine who is an orchid devotee says their prices on orchids are really fantastic.  (I wouldn't know, as orchids around me have an expected shelf life of about eight minutes, but I digress. )

I love flowers and I've been a fan of many other great flowers shops but this is the best one yet.   First of all, the prices are right at this place.  You can get a bunch of sunflowers for $5 or a gardenia for $1.25.  I come here for all my flower needs and trust me people in the Castro have big floral needs.  If you're a regular and you have good cleavage the owner will treat you right and occassionally give you free flowers ; )  Ask nicely and he will tell you which driveway to park in front of when you need to drop in for a quick floral pick me up.
