I've been going to uptown acupuncture for a while now. I really love seeing Kirk and his smiling face every time I go in. The conversations are always interesting and the advice is always amazing.
I've been seeing Kirk for general wellness as well as acute injuries. He specializes in sports injuries and structural integration. It's great for someone like me (an athlete and former military) to have somebody who practices with Chinese herbs and holistic medicine as well as sports therapy and all types of massage. It's really valuable to me and I think it's going to be really valuable to a lot of orthopedics who are looking to refer patients to someone like Kirk. He is a great option for those people in need for physical therapy, Chinese herbs and acupuncture, Kirk has a well rounded approach to making people well.
The office is amazing as well, it's small and quaint. What he has done with the lighting, the bamboo on the ceiling and the overall ambiance creates a very peaceful place to heal right in the middle of uptown Hillcrest.

History
Established in 2004
Kirk Pfeiffer opened Uptown Acupuncture in 2004 after moving back to San Diego from Orange County. Disliking the sterile environment of "The OC' He is so happy to be on University Ave. in Hillcrest. Treating a diverse populus with his relaxed candid nature, Kirk is accepting new clients at this time. Justin Penoyer, a master herbalist and practitioner of Functional Medicine, has recently joined Uptown Acupuncture. Together Kirk and Justin are solving the health problems of all who come through the door. They would be honored to work with you too!
Meet the Business Owner: Kirk P.
Kirk has been practicing for 8 years now and specializes in the treatment of Pain and Orthopedic conditions, although he has effectively treated a wide variety of conditions from insomnia to digestive problems. Kirk apprenticed for 2 years with Dr. Richard Tan, a world recognized Acupuncturist who had written 3 books and lectures around the globe. Kirk also continues to study with Matt Calison L.Ac. in Sports Medicine Acupuncture, refining his clinical skills. Most recently Kirk is working with Functional Medicine in which lab tests are done to determine everything from a vitamin deficiency to food allergies. Very Exiting Stuff!
