First time here yesterday and my daughter ordered a cookie sandwhich . She picked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, with french vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good. The cookies were thick but very soft so it wasn't hard to eat at all. The portion was pretty big as well so, 2 can definitely share. The ice cream was OK ..but paired with a fresh baked cookie, it was yum!

Saw the $1 scoop sign and thought I would try this place out. Highly disappointed. Selection sucked, and the scoop was so BIG my 4yr old finished it in 3bites !!!!! Johns might be further away but there is no comparison !

i had a sweet tooth and this is close to home so me and bf went. The ice cream in the bins looked a bit mmm oldish. Definetly not creamy. We both had the cookie dough. The ice cream tasted lilke chilled milk and the cookie dough tasted like rolled up sugar balls. for the two though and on waffle cones it came out to $2.00. So if you want to have something sweet for cheap but not neat, go here. but if you want quality go to cold stone!

Review from Sherry L.
Oakland, CA
Whenever I visited Antioch, I always felt compelled to stop here for yogurt. As evidenced by my first review, which I wrote last summer, I was previously a big fan of this yogurt shop. However, my feelings have changed in recent months.
For one thing, the yogurt seems runny and it doesn't taste as good as I remember. Another problem is the customer service or lack thereof. Before I waste my time driving to a yogurt place, I like to call and check the flavors. Whenever I called Uphoria, they never answer. Therefore, I have to drive and see for myself. Anyway, I once asked the employee why they don't answer. He looked at the cordless phone and said, "Was that you who called several times with a blocked number?" I replied, "Yes, my cell phone number is private." He then retorted, "I don't answer private numbers." Seriously? What sort of "professional" business refuses to answer blocked numbers?
The final straw occurred when they moved to their new location. As expected, they didn't answer the phone when I called, so I had to drive over and check out the flavors of the day. I walked around the new shop in order to peruse the toppings and flavors. The same employee said in a rude tone of voice, "What are you looking at?" I didn't even answer and walked out. I have never returned since that day.
I sincerely hope the owners read the Yelp reviews and learn a thing or two about customer service. It seems to be a common thread for this place.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Not a lot to choose from. Only have 6 flavors and they were basic flavors. This yogurt shop didn't have mocchi...what the heck they had a lot of tapioca pearls. The place looks cool. (see pictures). I think kids would enjoy the drawing.
Not a place I would visit again..but then again there's not a whole lot of yogurt place to choose from in this location. -

I have been to Uphoria Yogurt at the other location on the corner of Hillcrest and Lone Tree. I thought that location was more pleasing to the eye and I also thought the service was better..
This new location looks really bland to me. I've been to a number of Yogurt shops and even the ones in the malls still look better than this one. It looked like they just threw a couple of used machines on the floor without putting any thought onto its presentation to its customer. It lacked a little style, or any personal touch and the topping bar needed a lot of refilling and was also a little messy when I went here! I'm not sure if they ran out or what.
Though this place did offer a lot of those other "nuts and candy" toppings, a lot more than other places by far..They have walls of this stuff if you're into it!
The service was OK. It wasn't really terrifying. But they didn't really help me feel welcome. Maybe they think that they don't need to.. it was just OK (probably more worse than good).
I don't think I'll be back here. The prices are higher than what you usually pay around the areas and it's just NOT an "experience." Not worth the money to me I would just spend it at Yogurtland or Pizzaz. -

After a delicious Mexican meal, we needed to be a little more gluttonous. Enter Uphoria Yogurt with their array of base flavors and tons of toppings. Beware though, they charge by the ounce so you might want to be a little conservative if you don't have much dough.
There is only one size cup so forget the notion of trying to find something daintier. We decided to be conservative not for our lack of cash but for the sole fact that we had a deep fried baby sloshing in our stomachs. I did the chocolate/vanilla swirl with crumbled peanut butter cup and oreo cookies while hubby went for the chocolate/vanilla swirl with gummy bears.
Our concoctions were not expensive at all under $5 and the young lady at the cash register was very friendly. We took a seat on a red leather couch I think came from IKEA and were surrounded by other plush seating and a fireplace. One thing that did put me back a little was the visible black stains on the red plush chairs as well as the low coffee table with the siding peeling off. I think overall though they nailed the "Uphoric" ambiance.
We'll be back :)Listed in: Next Door Neighbors

Going to keep it super brief, Went there today with my kid. So disappointing! My kid loves yogurt and icecream he didn't even finish his. He did not like it at all. Mine: The chocolate sprinkles I put on them tasted super old. So nasty that we ended up throwing away both. We don't like to complain but man, what an upsetting experience.

Review from Grace L.
Usually I only write review updates if there's something significant to report since my last visit to a business. My, has this place changed since my last visit last year! For one, they're now self serve, which they didn't used to be. That is definitely a plus. Because of this, they charge per ounce instead of set prices per size. Their sign said something like 35 cents or 36, I can't recall. I suppose they can earn more bucks per customer with all the kids coming in going buckwild with all their swirls and the limitless toppings (as witnessed during my visit).
Another good thing to report was the dude at the counter was super nice and friendly. Some regular froyo heads were talking to him, and I overheard that he's moving out of town since he has a new baby, but he said he'll come by to visit every so often. When I went up to pay, he asked me in a neighborhood friendly way, "So what flavor did you get?" and that simple question sparked a mini conversation. Love it.
Here's the breakdown of the flavors I tried:
Red Velvet - that brick red froyo was a bit startling in color, but what was more in your face was the cocoa flavor. Maybe I was expecting more cake flavor than cocoa like a real red velvet, but I suppose that would be hard to execute with froyo. An A for effort.
New York Cheesecake - This was probably my favorite. Subtle sweet cream cheese flavor. Just what I was looking for!
Cookies and Cream - another flavor that kinda fell short for me. Seemed more like vanilla with cookie bits mixed in. Maybe more oreo stuffing creaminess would do the trick.
Cinnamon Bun - Now this was interesting. Almost tasted like an horchata. Cinnamon not too overpowering that you can taste the vanilla base. This was a pleasant surprise.
Toppings: Cheesecake bites, strawberry fizz (yogurt covered strawberry pop rocks...the coolest thing), cookie dough, and yogurt chips. I didn't see any mochi, which swayed my other choices of toppings. But they did have lychee jelly, which would probably work better during a fruit-inspired froyo visit.
On a separate sidenote that might run as TMI....
I love Ashley's reference to the self flagellation. Now, I personally am not lactose intolerant. I've had many a-froyo cups before. But for some reason this cup made my tummy rumble with gas. Maybe the dairy ratio in their froyo runs high or maybe I just had way too much for my tummy to handle. Either way, I'll heed caution when it comes to my portions next time.
And yes, there's a next time!Listed in: Honeybunches, sugarplums...

Review from Judy N.
Antioch, CA
I'd give this place 3-1/2 stars but am deducting 1/2 star for the price.
This is a fun little place if you've got yogurt pangs. They have an ever-changing selection of soft serve yogurts, though I've never liked any of them other than the regular vanilla. You serve yourself and then add as many of the dozens of toppings they have out. Then you bring your cup to be weighed. It's 37 cents per oz. Sounds cheap, but the toppings really add to the price.
Luckily, I know not to go overboard, sticking to 1/3 cup of vanilla yogurt, a bit of chopped almonds, shredded coconut and strawberries. That usually ends up costing about $3 and is plenty to satisfy my sweet tooth. I cringe whenever I see the little kids fill their fairly large cups to the brim and then weigh them down with tons of toppings. Are you really going to eat all that, kid? For your sake, I hope not.
The place is bright and perky with a general happy feel. It can get annoying when a bunch of kids come filing in without adult supervision, proceed to help themselves to large "samples" of yogurt, and then leave. I guess I am on the road to being a crochety old woman. -

I went here a couple of times when they were still at the other location. Left disappointed each time.
First of all, it was just an awkward setup. Yogurt machines on one side then you have to walk through the line of customers to get to the toppings on the other side. Weird layout. Not customer friendly at all.
The yogurt itself isn't that great either. I came here once when it wasn't self-serve yet and thought the price was high and again when it was self-serve but, still felt ripped off because I just wasn't happy with the product.
Worse of all, the staff is really unprofessional, especially the time I came when the two girls were talking REALLY loudly the whole time about their personal business, not using the best language, and hardly paying us any attention at all even when we were paying. I was really put off by that experience and never wanted to return again.
I definitely won't be checking out their new location. -

My husband and I decided to come here the other night after seeing the sign $1 Scoops of Ice Cream. Apparently the owner moved the Yogurt portion of the business. They didn't have any flavors listed on their ice cream freezer yet, so you have to ask. I noticed that they don't make their own ice cream like John's. The place doesn't have any blinds on their windows, so the sun was blazing in, which made it really HOT!! I wasn't terribly impressed. I think I'll stick to John's Ice Cream instead.

After driving by this place 800 times and never stopping (or understanding why they edited the "e" out of Euphoria), I impulsively went in with my mother today after seeing a sign saying "self-serve." At 30 cents an ounce, how can you really go wrong? Even if the yogurt is mediocre, if you show any self-control, you should be able to make off with a tasty treat at a reasonable price. Plus, as far as my peasant's palate is concerned, it's pretty hard to screw up frozen yogurt. Eating here, however, was a screw up on my part, since yogurt with mini Reese's pieces and Butterfinger chunks on top is decidedly NOT on my diet.
More self-flagellation later...
I was pretty surprised by the interior. It's sparse and the actual yogurt machines are nothing to write home about, but there are mosaic tables (of the generic variety, lest someone visit and feel the need to take me down a notch for appreciating anything less than fine art), nice red chairs, and a semi-separate seating area arranged somewhat like a living room, with chairs, a sofa, an electric fireplace and a flat panel TV. Fancy.
I would have liked to have seen more flavor options, but perhaps it's good there weren't more, since, because I am a slut, I had to try all of them. Into my (ridiculously large) cup were placed the following: vanilla and chocolate (can't remember the fancy names they had), original tart, tart kiwi, Reese's peanut butter cup, pistachio, and strawberry banana. I think that's it. After toppings (I wanted mochi, but they were out, which is a super boo; on the bright side, the fruit offerings looked fresh and yummy), my yogurt, which was larger than I wanted, rang up at $2.22. Definitely a reasonable price.
The Reese's and original tart were standouts, and the chocolate was pretty tasty as well. The tart kiwi was a little confusing to me, but I think I liked it. I didn't really taste any pistachio in the pistachio flavor, or banana in the strawberry banana, but they were both sweet and tasty. Additionally, in contrast to the people who have had bad customer service experiences here, the girl who helped us was actually really nice. Not bubbly or anything, but solidly nice, which is really all I expect of customer service employees.
I'm not a connoisseur of frozen yogurt, and I'm okay with that (foodies get on my nerves, but that's a whole diff'rent topic, son); what I had here was flavorful and good. The Reese's flavor was more robust than the Nutter Butter flavor at Yogurtland (my only point of comparison in the self-serve froyo universe), and the original tart lacked the icy quality that can make it less appealing.
So yay Uphoria Yogurt. Try to not go out of business. -

So the last few visits have actually been quite good.
There Vanilla custard is still great and there Cake Batter is a winner both textures are rich and creamy in flavor and I am looking forward to trying there Marshmallow flavor. Still not a fan of some other flavors however, they have improved. The service has been exceptionally friendly and I think they are really putting an effort into improving the place!
Still not quite 5 stars though improving.I also hear they may be going self serve which would definitely be a plus!!

Antioch, CA
The raspberry tart frozen yogurt and mochi topping was good.
Although the service was kinda--blah. I've been to these yogurt places before but they've usually been the self service kind where you put what you want and they weigh it out to get the price.
Uphoria Yogurt isn't like that, they serve it to you. So I walked in and asked how their system work and I pretty much answered my own question by making suggestions and the girl behind the counter agreeing. She doesn't didn't seem to friendly. My bf wanted to order something called a tango mango and we didn't realize that it was a drink. If she answered my question properly maybe we wouldn't have asked.
When someone comes into your store and they ask a question like "How does this work?" You assume it's their first time and you let them know how your system works, not all places are the same especially since a lot of these yogurt places are self service.
So I'm not too sure if I'll be going back to Uphoria Yogurt, I'm going to search Antioch to see if there are any other yogurt places in the area after I finish yelping, but if there isn't another place...I guess I can give them another try and if their service is better, I'll let you know. -
Review from Michelle N.
Antioch, CA
I have to admit, when we passed by Uphoria while it was under construction, I looked at the sign and went, "What, couldn't they afford the E?" Sorry but one of my pet peeves are businesses with misspelled names without an obvious marketing gimmick.
But hey, I'm desperate for some good frozen yogurt so I figured I'd set aside my prejudices.
First, a little bit about the space itself. Normally I don't care for much for the interior of places but Uphoria's interior is of note because it is much more in line with what I'd expect to see in Walnut Creek or even Cupertino or San Mateo rather than Lone Tree in Antioch. The interior is bright and sleek with lots of seating as well as a lounge area with a television and a fireplace.
With a name like Uphoria, I expected it to ride the current Korean style, tart "fro-yo" trend. Turns out that I may be half right. It seems like Uphoria is trying to strike a balance between the trendy tart yogurts as well as the more readily accepted (in this area anyway) soft ice cream style frozen yogurts.
On our visit tonight, Uphoria offered two "tart" yogurts, original and kiwi. But there was also a selection of more conventional flavors, like vanilla and chocolate. Toppings include fresh fruit and mochi as well as things like chocolate cookies, nuts, sprinkles etc.
I got the kiwi tart with mochi and mango while my sister sampled the original tart with strawberries and mochi. My previous experience with this type of "fro-yo" is Red Mango. Uphoria's fro-yo is a bit icier than Red Mango's but is delicious and refreshing without being cloyingly sweet. I don't see the iciness of the fro-yo as a bad thing, though. Somehow, it seems like it would be ultra refreshing during Antioch's hellish summers.
The mochi was wonderfully chewy and was a great way to add sweetness to the tart yogurt. My sister and I both agreed that the mochi made fro-yo. The downside is that the mango wasn't in season so it wasn't sweet. Not Uphoria's fault, of course and it was nice to see that it was at least offered.
All in all, great offering! It may not be the same as other fro-yo places you may find in the Bay Area but I think that this is just what the area needs. Get me some wireless internet access here and I think I know where I'll be parking my butt this summer.Listed in: East County Dining Guide

I've been to many fro-yo places throughout the bay area and I was excited when I saw this new fro-yo place finally open up last month. My first visit was probably within a day or two of their grand opening. There were signs all over the place saying that they couldn't accept debit/credit cards at that time. Bah! I hate when businesses don't accept cards. I rarely carry cash but conveniently a bank's ATM is right next door. According to the owner their card machine's weren't set up just yet and he wasn't going to keep the place closed because they were paying mucho rent for the space already.
All of the fro-yo places I've been to have been self-serve and you pay per ounce. Uphoria isn't self-serve and you pay a flat fee for whatever size you want and you pay per topping. I find that really unfortunate. I think what makes these fro-yo places fun is having the option of mixing up the flavors if you want and putting whatever toppings you want yourself. When I go to yogurt places I also like to see all the toppings that are offered. At Uphoria I couldn't see much except for what was by the cash register. There's a list of what they have but that's no fun. On the brightside they make my yogurt look pretty in the cup.
Three weeks later the debit/credit card signs are still up. Uh...shouldn't the card machines be up and running by now? I'll still frequent Uphoria but if any of you yelpers know of a new self-serve place nearby please let me know. I like those better. -

My girls and I totally LOVE this place.
We have been to places before where either there were only a few flavors to choose from OR there were several flavors but it was a little pricey and you got what they gave you which included small sized portions on toppings to!
NOT THIS PLACE!! Several flavors that YOU get to choose how much you want AND lots of toppings. Several fresh fruit selections too! OMG I couldn't believe the fruit!!
The gentleman behind the counter was polite and helpful...very easy to talk to. Not something you find often in this type of biz.
Uphoria...I am a regular now...please don't leave!! -

This place is now a self-serve froyo place, which makes it even better now! The original tart was a little watery but the banana custard and strawberry flavors were delicious. The assorted toppings are delicious, and many of them are chilled such as the cookie dough and some of the chocolate candies. There is a strawberry yogurty crisp that comes in little balls that are very yummy! The fruits are fresh and sweet, too. The price is decent!

Decided to give these guys a try and we were not disappointed. We paid about $9.50 for a family size yogurt with sprinkles, strawberries and peanut butter shots. The taste was nice and the texture was very smooth. This is not one of the you serve places, rather they put it together for you. We did not get the tart yogurts but maybe next time we will. The kids chose chocolate and vanilla and both were nice without being overly sweet.
The staff was helpful and very pleasant, and they do take credit cards now.
If you are in the area or looking for a nice clean place to have a yogurt, I definitely recommend this place. Beware the parking lot on the weekends in the evening I cannot say much for the people hanging out there. Generally seemed to be a lot of people with a lot of attitude making there way into two bar/restaurants that share the parking lot with Uphoria. -

I love Uphoria! I'll admit I don't go as often as I should but hey it's summer season, time for rafting and swimming and all that fun stuff ;) I love to try new flavors and my favorite actually happens to be the sugar free raspberry which most certainly had me fooled. Light and delicious and a little tart. All the froyo is super creamy and delicious and perfect for the warmer weather that always comes with summer out here.
The owner is so nice and he's a local guy, see him all the time and I love to support local businesses. 36cents an ounce is a great price and you get a lot for your money. I love the variety of toppings, the flavors are rotated depending on the day and with all the variety it can be tricky remembering when you can get your favorite but I've never gone in and walked out without being happy in my decision, haha. You can always find a good flavor and it's a good way to get people to try the other flavors. Get you out of that "creature of habit" mentality. Last time I was there it was cash only though and has been since they opened which is understandable because those service fees that a business owner incurs from running cards can get pretty steep so make sure you have about $5 in your wallet unless you really want to splurge and then you'll need a little more. But I've never spent more than $4 and change and I hardly finished it.
Love, love, love it and I'll be in there soon. -

Ok, they changed to self serve. Much, much better. It is kind of awkward looking when you go in. Like it doesn't flow very well. You go to the right side of the register to get your yogurt then walk across the room on the left thru a sea of people to get to the toppings. It was kind of confusing, people all over the place. You should get in one line fill up your yogurt then move on to toppings that are right next to the yogurt. But whatever, it's not my business. Though people, myself included were looking kind of lost.
