While the U-District has plenty of restaurant options, quality seems to vary all around. University Way is one of the better options. Like its namesake says, it is located on University Way meaning it is convenient with all the foot traffic in the area. I would not go out of your way to visit this restaurant as there are decent options all around the Seattle area, even the Eastside! If you are in the U-District, this is probably the spot to go.

The restaurant is structured like a fast food restaurant as you go to the register and order your food. You can either take your food to go or order in where there are several tables to enjoy your food at. The cashier will bring you your food to the table when its ready should you dine in. Ambience in the restaurant is somewhat restrained albeit due to the small space and the ferociousness outside. In the restaurant, you can expect to here K-Pop or watch the tv to past your time while waiting.

The food itself is middling to good. I usually have their rice cake soup. The soup is the variety similar to what is found in tofu soup of which the quality here also about the same. This must have much to do with the actual soup base itself. Accompanying your meal is rice and banchan (side dishes). The banchan was okay, not great. It fills you up but it was not particularly exciting.

Overall, I would suggest University Way as an option if you are in the U-District. It is quick, filling and prices are reasonable.

best lunch deal in the area.
    the food is freakin' bangin'!!!
seriously, though. it's a quick and small little kitchen on the "ave"- but it easily satisfied this college kid's stomach. my friends and i came here a lot. mainly for the delicious dduk bok kki (spicy rice cake) and outrageously cheap prices. even better- if you're a UW student, you had tremendous discounts from this place.

This place is yummy cheap.  Came here on a Thursday night and ordered the bulgogi and chicken katsu.  We paid about what you would pay for one dish at other restaurants and even with the inexpensive prices the portions were good and everything hit the spot.  I dig the charming little booths and I can easily see someone on a student budget ducking in here with a date (dinner and movie) and not going broke.
