I am so disappointed:
Money in the dentist's pocket, before ethical treatment of the patient.
I changed to Dr. Patch's office being seriously tired of having my old dentist office getting me to pay for his new shiny condo at the Egyptian.
Small office, in an remodeled house on University,,,looks like old time, regular dentist office that might give you a more *personal* touch I think.
Ok,,,,we go.
Went in, had checkups, cleanings, even a crown.
Flash, six months later in December: I get a call from the receptionist, Patty.
She tells me there are openings, hygienist, can see me TODAY.
I ask when I last had a cleaning say,,,,* When was my last cleaning? June. Oh, am I good to go?* YES.
I go in, get my cleaning and a check-up.....where I am told, yet again, I need two more crowns(one has 'open margin', the other, an old filling), which I let go in one ear and out the other because I am STILL paying on a $451 bill from the LAST crown.
Ya following? Good.
Ok, Flash to January, 2099; bill comes in from dentist. I look at what was a $451 balance that I am paying down,,,,,,,,,,which is now, to my shock, over $600!
Insurance did not pay for cleaning or the oral exam.
I call, leave a message asking about the new charges.
I get a voice mail back from Patty, with no explanation,,,,,,just saying that she got my message. Ooo-k. So much for that. I don't call back; ain't playing the phone tag game.
Mail comes from insurance company with explanation:
My cleaning came at UNDER the 6 months alllowable,,,,,BY A COUPLE OF WEEKS. Plus, I incurr a charge of $50 more dollars for a oral exam, which really was nothing but 5 minutes of Dr. Patch telling me I need 2 more crowns......and when did I want to schedule those?
In other words, my dental office decided that making money and filling the hygiene appointment book was far more important than looking out for their patent's pocketbook which supplies their salaries in the first place!
I am now waiting like a rattle snake under a rock for her to call(as she always does), asking for another payment this month, or next month for that matter.

Meet the Business Owner: Allan P.
Dr. Patch always thought that he would have a career as an artist. An interest in science blended well with this passion and a career in dentistry was born. He attended Boston College and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, graduating with a D.M.D. in 1982. After four years with the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego, Okinawa, and San Francisco, he decided to enter private practice at this location in 1986. He remained in the Naval Reserve and enjoys the retired rank of Navy Captain. Dr. Patch is detail oriented, appreciates a fine result and a pleased patient. He has a gentle touch and will go out of his way to make a new patient feel at home in a dental office family.
