Terminal 8/9 (AIRTrain)
3 reviews for United Airlines JFK Red Carpet Club
Traffic from Midtown to JFK was surprisingly minimal yesterday afternoon at 5pm, so I ended up spending 3+ hours at the RCC waiting for my slightly delayed flight home. Not a bad RCC. There are plenty of seats, and the location is across the way from the United gates at Terminal 7. I agree with John Eric S. that the bathrooms are kind of sketch. Alcoholic beverages are $6, but they provide plenty of free snacks (crackers, cheese, fruit, Knots Berry Farm raspberry cookies, potato chips, and Walkers shortbread). They even brought out a plate of mini-sandwiches around 8:30pm .
This review was written prior to the supposed Westin renewal of the RCC.

Was there on Sunday night 12/7. I agree bathrooms are weird -- they were not clean, paper towels every where and one sink did not work.
Plenty of seating but can be tight especially if you like to have a few seats between you and other travelers.
Sandwich plate did com out two times during my time there between approx 6pm and 8pm. Lots of pre packaged snacks - Snack Well, Oreo, pre packed cheese and mini crackers. Coffee and tea bar is separate from food display. Bar is nice though TV is WAY too small. There are 3 tvs in the place in total 2 big flat screen which oddly switched automatically between CNN and the football games. There is no remote and sign that says it is always CNN. Don't know how that is done.
There is a nice back room with seating all aong the wall no middle tables and one of he 2 big TVs along the wall.
Viewing out to the tarmac is not good -- much of the windows are frosted over.
Caught a glance into the First Class side - separate entrance. They were wheeling out some food - same sandwiches I saw on display earlier plus some other things I do not remember. Decor and chairs and such are exactly the same in there. Appeared empty upon my viewing.
Desk ladies - as you come in for both lounges but will direct you to the F side doors I assume if applicable were nice -- 3 on staff that night are OK. I only gave my Priority Pass card and they did not ask to mark which flight I was on in case of any changes as they would have known as other UA passenger usually gave over a boarding pass.
I had Priority Pass and they had trouble filling out their little slip -- seems they ran out of original slips so they had made up ones them selves.
Saw some BA passengers in there -- they have their own nicer lounge on the way TO the UA lounges so don't know why they were in the UA side?

Stopped into the RCC at JFK on my way back to SFO. It was easy to find and close to the terminal. The concierges were very accommodating. The International lounge offered private rooms for cell phone use, plenty of seating, complimentary beverages, snacks and complimentary Wi-Fi (a very nice plus, since the rest of the airport was charging $9.95 for daylong T-Mobile wi-fi). Their instant-espresso machine also pumped out a tasty latte. Only downside was their bathroom was a little sketchy and not as nice as other Red Carpets I've been to in the past.
