Called these folks last week to help me out with a motorcycle that had to be out of my parking lot pronto and taken about 15 miles to its shop.
The driver and another guy showed up with a flatbed tow truck within the service window we'd agreed upon. They loaded the bike, tied it down, drove it to the shop for me, and unloaded it right where I needed it. Then they charged me the price quoted on the phone. Both guys were real friendly, no problem working with them at all.
So really, what more could I ask? Was a great experience for me. If I'm stuck in a bind and can't truck my own bikes again, this is who I'll call. -

Just had my roadside assistance call Unique Towing. Didn't know if I needed a jump or a full tow in for service. Stephen was great. He came and provided excellent service and information. He even gave a couple of tips that I'll keep for next time.
Got their number from my roadside assistance in order to make sure I was called prior to their arrival. The dispatcher was courteous and friendly when I call. She knew exactly what I was talking about when I identified myself and the circumstances.
A towing service isn't something I want to need. But when I do need them, I will be calling them again. -

I needed a tow. I called Geico. They sent Unique Towing.
I specifically asked Geico to relay to Unique to call my phone prior to arrival & the color of my car. I verified with Geico that they did send the correct information to Unique, yet their dispatcher did not relay the correct information to the driver. So the driver ended up waking up my neighbors by pounding on their door 8:30 in the morning before calling my cell phone.
The dispatcher told the driver the car was red. My car is purple.
I got over it because the driver was extremely professional & took very good care of my 12 year old car.
Hours later, I needed a tow again. I called Unique because I was pleased with their driver, I thought I could get the same guy to tow my car. I called the dispatcher around 11am & told the dispatcher my urgency to get my car out of my work by 2pm. She repeatedly assured me that that would be no problem & the cost is not to exceed $90 & minimum $80.
The dispatcher phoned me at 1:40pm to inform me that the driver was running late & will be sending a regular tow truck to be there on time. I told her that I needed a flatbed & will not accept anything else. A regular tow truck showed up at my work around 2:40pm.
The dispatcher did not even apologize. Another gentleman did. She simply told me she misunderstood my request. Even the driver was apologetic & informed me that the dispatcher was new, to give her a break. They tried to charge me $90 -- but I stopped them to & demanded the exact calculations. My total bill was $86.
The break down?
- The drivers are nice.
- A new dispatcher needs to be hired. You can't really train a person how to listen & talk properly.
- They tried to charge me the maximum amount, when in reality it was $86. -

Great experience with this company. My car battery died and Dexter had it going within 40 minutes of my call. Also: it was pouring rain and he told me to wait in a covered dry area while he was fixing my car and basically getting drenched. All of that with a smile, and luckily the service is included in my insurance so that's a bonus!
Would definitely call them in the future if needed. -

I needed a tow because my car shut off while driving. Geico sent Unique Towing so I could bring my car to the dealership. When the driver (Mario) showed up, he was really cool and very easy to talk to. He went out of his way to try and diagnose what was wrong with my car (jumping it, checking cables, headlights, electrical parts, etc.) when all he had to do was tow it. A lot of tow truck drivers aren't very friendly so I appreciated being helped by a sociable guy. If I ever need a tow again, I'll definitely request Unique Towing from my insurance.

Our company uses Unique Towing on a regular basis.
There's one main aspect of their business that sets them a mile ahead of the rest of the tow companies in the bay area; their staff.
They have THE MOST amazing team of drivers and office staff who actually get customer service.
Many of our clients are in a bad place when they need our help, but i constantly get comments from them that the driver who helped them was very helpful and "Not your typical tow truck driver". These guys REALLY get it.
i don't know what I'd do without these guys. Give these guys a call if you need their help, I can't imagine them ever letting you down. -

I had a previously positive experience with Unique Towing when one of my older cars broke down. So, when I made the embarrassing mistake of trying to get out of an exit too late and popped 2 tires of my brand new SUV, I called them. I had left the car parked somewhere else the night before, and needed it towed as soon as the service center opens at 7am and I communicated this to the dispatcher. He said he might not be able to send someone until about an hour later. Oh no! I had to get the car towed there, get a loaner, and be back at home by 9am before my husband gets to work (so I can take over with our baby). I explained my situation to him and he promised he'll work hard to see what he can do to help me. I called a cab to get to where my car was parking and when I got there, the tow truck was already there! Also, when I had called my insurance company before, I was told by the 24-hour service line that I'd have to send in a bill to get reimbursed, but Unique Towing offered to bill my insurance company directly.
Tow truck driver Marlon was nice and professional. He did not even seem annoyed that he had to wait for me for a while to get there (and also when I ran over to the store to buy hot tea...since I didn't know he could get the car loaded so quickly!).
I know I'd be calling them again if my car breaks down. -

Seriously. 5 stars solid. Unique Towing came to my rescue during my time of dire need.
I hate feeling like a damsel in distress, but tonight- I definitely was distressed, damn it. I was stranded outside of my apartment in the RED zone when my car wouldn't start... entirely my fault. Must replace the battery.
Called up my sister, my best friend, honda care, and 2 other lousy towing companies, but Unique came through for me and saved the night!
I wasn't sure if my car activated its immobilizer feature or if my battery was dead. So I left it to the pro (Mr. Tow Guy). All my car needed was a jump start and it was ready to go. The dispatcher had a very kind telephone voice, and the tow trucker wasn't an asshole. YAY. A million stars for that. :)
Now I know what I'm getting my girlfriends for their bdays and xmas.
Jumper cables........ that can also double as nipple clamps. -

Jim, from Unique Towing in San Jose towed my hot rod to the shop today and he provided safe, courteous service. More importantly (for me) he was very careful not to damage the body while connecting and pulling my ride up onto the truck bed. I have a very low clearance (3 inches), but he did the job perfectly.
I recommend this company for their excellent service and great attitude! They also charged a very reasonable rate. -

I never thought I would write a review about a Tow Company but this one I had to. AWESOME!!! Unique Towing is like angels sent from heaven. Stranded just off the freeway my 67' decides to conk out on me. Called several companies with outrageous prices then came across Unique. Can I just say the customer service and the niceness of the staff is the best I have ever dealt with. They had a great price and were there in a heart beat. Unlike other companies their trucks look like Car Show quality, their clean and smell good inside (so do the drivers) no scruffs here (and their also nice as well). Had me off the corner (THANK GOD) and on my way in no time :o} I've used them many times since and will continue to do so. I HIGHLY recommend this company. DO NOT PASS THEM UP. The best in the west!! Called Unique after calling a couple other places and am glad I did. I needed to be my new "project" to the shop and they were quick to respond and all the prices etc straight forward.
When they arrived right away "Stephen" came out and put me at ease and was very polite and honestly a good image for this company. Not the shady look that i've seen with other tow companies. I'll definitely use them again! -

Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They came on time and even though I scheduled a tow to the dealer, the driver took the initiative to see if there was anything that he could do to get me back up and running. Sure enough, he was able to do a couple quick fixes and now I'm good to go. The final bill for the services ended up less than the quoted tow price, which was already reasonable.
I'd use them again in a heartbeat. -

I had the unfortunate experience of locking my keys inside my car. What's a girl to do when even her boyfriend can't help? Or she has no man? Call someone!
I am so thankful Unique Towing came to my rescue! I usually have AAA but my membership expired and even if I renewed it, there would be a 48 hour waiting period. They were kind enough to transfer me to Unique Towing because it's in the area.
The dispatcher was very nice and asked me all the necessary information. The waiting period is dependent on where their drivers are. The cost for unlocking your car (they break into it and make you sign a waiver beforehand) is $65.
The best part is they deal with State Farm Insurance directly so it was free for me! By the way, State Farm has free roadside assistance! Who knew.
All I had to do was sign some paperwork and I was back in my cute comfy white Nissan 350z.
Plus it was cool to watch someone break into a car. They use this plastic wedge to move the glass window, then either sneak in this contraption similar to a blood pressure bag, or they just use a long wire stick. -

Dead. My car was dead. In Santa Clara. I live in San Francisco. Found some companies on Yelp and decided to call up Unique.
Not was I was expecting at all. The man on the phone was very friendly. Told me they'll deal with the insurance company (I have State Farm's emergency coverage). I hung up the phone then...Snap! They got to me in like 35 minutes. A guy called me to tell me the tow truck was outside. I go outside and the driver had found my car in the full parking lot and was waiting right there. A really nice flat bed truck too! Gave him my insurance card. He towed my car and unloaded it at the mechanic.
They totally made being stuck in Santa Clara much less painful. -

They were professional, courteous, prompt, and excellent. I scheduled my tow from 2-3 but I prefer 2 and guess what- Dexter was there at 2 on the dot.
I hope I won't be needing another tow but if I ever do, I'm definitely going to call this place again. -

Went through my insurance company and they called Unique.
They showed up on time.
The guy was cool, he put my lowered car onto the flatbed without scratching the bumper or any part of the car.
Have no idea about their rates as my insurance was paying the bill but professional service overall. -

My car, for lack of a better word, is old. Over 374,000 miles on it, but it keeps on going, even if it breaks down pretty often. I'm not the type to give up!
I have used Unique Towing twice since the beginning of the year, and I have been extremely happy and impressed! The first time I got a tow it was so traumatic, but the employee who came to my rescue was amazing and made me feel a lot better as they took my baby away. The second time I got a tow was even better! Jim, my second rescuer, was so kind and thoughtful, showed up within the hour, and maneuvered that great big tow truck in my apartment complex's parking lot as gracefully as if he was driving a sporty little mini. He got my car up on the flatbed in no time, making sure not to bust my tires or scratch anything. He gave me a fantastic rate, too, and I had to have my car towed two cities away!
Although I don't want to say I'd use their services again (because that'd mean my car broke down again!), I will not hesitate to call them and recommend them to anyone looking for a superior tow company with great rates. They really took the time to make me feel like I was in good hands, and that's a rare quality. Thanks again, guys! I'll keep you on my speed dial. -

Great group of people from the lady on the phone to the actual driver that came to help me out. They worked with my insurance company to get paid for the tow so I didn't have any out of pocket. (Glad I have that on my insurance).

Unique gave me a 30 minute window but did not show up. I called after 45 minutes and they told me they picked up another job and will be here in 30 minutes. They are a waste of time, don't let them leave you hanging like they did to me. Not recommend.

The other reviewers weren't kidding when they said these guys were on time! The truck arrived at exactly when they said it would; down to the minute! Hopefully, I won't have to get my car towed again but if I did, I DEFINITELY would call these guys again. Friendly AND punctual! =]

There are nooooo star for this service. they going to get RIP OFF you when you on nervous, embarrassing sutuation. I got tow from highway 101 @ Mc Kee rd to highway 880 @ Stevenson blvd, it only 16 miles and took 50 minutes but they charged for 2 hours $330. They said they charged form the time you call to the time the tow come to the scene and charged for the time the tow get back to there station?????

Best towing experience ever! Dispatcher was prompt and friendly. I had a long distance tow and received the best rate out of 5 companies that I contacted. The driver was very pompt and courteous. They made it very easy. I had a tow to my driveway 4 cities away and by the time I got home the car was parked neatly in the driveway! Super friendly and very fare! Highly reccomend this company.

My car brokedown at 9:30 at night on a Monday. I tried calling other tow companies and Unique was the only one open. They had someone out to get me within the hour. The VERY nice girl on the phone said they were busier than usual. The service was quick and friendly. After having the car towed to my house, I used them three days later to tow my car to the mechanic. I was just as pleased the first time as I was the second time - the second time was even better because they were out within 20 minutes. Same fast and friendly service. No creepy mean tow truck drivers here!

My car was dead and I said that I needed either a tow or a jump. Great attitude and amazing customer service both over the phone and in person. Both people I talked to were very friendly. I didn't have long to wait at all. Their driver Kyle was a great guy who was a pleasure to talk to. Its also nice that they bill my insurance company (State Farm) directly! These guys like what they do and they're good at it. Before this I was thinking about going with AAA, but these guys are better. I won't use anyone from now on.

Even in the pouring rain they didnt miss a beat. The service was on time, proffessional and overall a good experience despite having my truck out of commission due to a failed fuel pump. I was their 8th tow that morning and didnt get stink eye service. He was personable and had my truck towed home promptly.

Yeah they're plenty friendly over the phone, but you have to beg them to take your money. My friend's truck got wrecked and this is the company the cops called to tow it away. I didn't want the fees to rack up, so I called to find out what the cost would be so I could pay to get it out of hock. They said I had to come down in person to pay for it. OK fine - I took off work early and went down to pay. They wouldn't take my money because the ownerof the truck wasn't there. Mind you I wasn't trying to get it released to me; I only wanted to pay for it and my friend would be there in an hour with all his paperwork in order. So I asked if they could verify my ID and information while I was there and then give my cc # over the phone when the owner of the car got there. Nope - he wouldn't entertain the idea. I asked to speak to an owner, but they refused. There was no way for me to get to a bank, pull the cash, deliver it to my friend and then get to my afternoon appointment on time. Since there is no law or municipal code they're governed by in this regard (I asked them), there had to be some way they could have worked with me. Oh and the truck was there less than 24 hours, but we got charged two days of storage at $55/day. And if you get there after 5:00 it's an extra $30 for them to release the vehicle. It's really quite impossible not to rack up charges even if you're there in a timely manner. Total bottom feeders.
