Ordered delivery on Friday around 7:00 and it came in 20 min.

Agree with Shane F. - cafeteria *style* pizza.  Or, video game arcade *style* pizza.  Or Ellio's *style* pizza.

I emphasize *style* because the pizza is actually pretty good.  It's got a thicker crust, not quite deep dish, almost like a round sicilian pizza.  But the dough was surprisingly tasty and cooked perfectly - outer crunch, inner chew.  Ain't nothing wrong with that.  And $9 for a large.  Yes, please.

Now, I'll agree, I'm more of a traditional floppy NY pizza kind of guy myself.  And that is NOT what this pizza is.  My wife, on the other hand, is a sicilian pizza lover, and she cleaned her plate.

Also got an antipasto salad and it was big and loaded with mortadella, genoa, ham, and provolone.

Gave the place a try with a sub and a salad. Pretty underwhelming, and interior of the place if pretty sketchy. Mama Gina's across the street is better.

I'm going to call this cafeteria style pizza. The crust is like a big soft... something or other. It smells good enough but, after a second or two of chewing something bad happens with either the sauce or the cheese or both and the taste is really just the opposite of good.

If your parents won't let you cross Somerville Avenue then I don't think this pizza will actually injure you, otherwise go to Mama Gina's.

Funny thing is, I saw the people working there eating and they weren't eating pizza, (or anything else on the menu).

The only thing that saved the large cheese pizza from this place was that it was actually quite good as leftovers (recooked in the toaster). That said, I feel I shouldn't need to finish cooking the dough on my own. It kind of defeats the entire point of ordering food. Buffalo tenders were about as good as the ones you can buy frozen and microwave on your own.

Despite the cheap combo deals available, and the quick delivery time, I don't think I'll order from here again.

Ehh...2.5 to 3 stars.  I wouldn't come down on this place as much as some Yelpers have.  The pizza we had was pretty good, as was the sandwich.

Just don't go in here expecting fab pizza and service, that's all.  Oh, and the atmosphere is more or less cafeteria...

My roommates and I live near the Somerville/Cambridge line and have been searching for a great pizza place since I moved in in January. We had tried places within walking distance, and were completely disappointed. Disappointed to the extent that we had started driving to the North End to get Regina's just to have pizza that didn't suck.

One night we were prowling Foodler and saw that a place in Union Square would deliver to us and was relatively cheap. My roommate and I decided to give it a go and man! what a great idea!

Where some places take an hour to find our apartment building, Union Square Pizza had our order in our place in under 45 minutes. It was piping hot, looked delicious and tasted even better.

Our regular order (yes, we've ordered from there enough that we have a regular order) is a large pizza with pepperoni & green pepper and an order of onion rings. We've also since ordered calzones a couple of times for visitors and they have raved about them.

The crust is perfectly crispy, the toppings are delicious (and sometimes sparse, so ask for extra) and the pizza is a REAL large for a great price. It takes 3 of us to finish an order of their onion rings, which are breaded (but not too heavily) and hold their crunch with no problems. The small calzone is enough for 2 people to eat their fill, and doesn't skimp on flavor.

I am seriously impressed with this place and am so stoked to finally have a local pizza joint that makes great food AND delivers.

This is 'last resort' pizza. If you happen to find yourself standing in front of this place with a sudden spasm of pizza craving, ok..maybe consider grabbing a quick, cheap slice. But yeah.. if you have the extra minute it takes to go elsewhere, I'd do that.

This pizza is below average, and is more of a stomach filler than anything else. I haven't tried any of the other menu options.

Great hours, but not too much else to offer.

The pizza here is nothing to write home about. The crust, almost frozen pizza-like, is probably the chief culprit, though I can't say much for the cheese and sauce either. Their meatballs are exceptionally bland, tasting almost as if they were boiled--that and how under-stuffed it is dooms their meatball sub.

The lone bright spot for me was a passable cheese steak. I expected the worst, but was surprised with a sandwich that was comparable to its peers in the area. I'm not saying it's great, but it's significantly better than the other things I've eaten there.

The dining experience is flat-out odd: uncomfortable booths, bizarre channels on an old TV, and the owners' kids constantly running around the seating area. Oh well.

Basically, this place's saving grace is that it's open until 11PM 365 days a year--including Christmas and Thanksgiving. Only Red House comes close to that but I'm tired of paying for my crab rangoon twice (if you know what I mean). On nights when it's impossible to find anything else open, Union Square Pizza may be your best bet.

I stopped in and had two slices and a soda. They heated the slices for me. The crust was not very flavorful, but it was nicely thin and crisp, and the cheese and sauce tasted good for an overall positive effect. The staff was friendly. The price was low.

Union Square Pizza was perfectly decent, but bland. I prefer to go to Mama Gina's, which is directly across the street and is really very good.

The only semi-redeeming quality of this place are their buffalo wings, but you can definitely find better elsewhere.  Everything else is total garbage, avoid at all costs.  Go to Mama Gina's across the street instead.

Union Square Pizza is alright.  The pizza is okay... the crust is pretty awesome.  They don't have a lengthy selection of toppings, but the bacon is actually real strips of pan fried bacon... which, in my opinion, is rad.  Don't bother with the salads, there's nothing special in that department.  The bacon, in combination with quick delivery, warrants a 3 star rating.

I give this place high ratings, because 1) I only get the pizza (the crust is perfection, not too thin and not too thick), and 2) I only like  nongreasy toppings on my pizza, such as chicken and vegetables. You also can't beat the price, especially if you can do well with just a few slices per meal. So I give this place an enthusiastic 4 stars. It is what it is: my pizza place. For anything else, I go elsewhere.

Pizza is perfect for an afternoon of football watching. Boneless chicken wings are a nice compliment too. Prompt delivery, within 20 minutes. Reasonable price. Would definitely order again and freely recommend to others

Union Square pizza is very modest in atmosphere but the food is fresh and very good. And the prices can't be beat. The hamburgers and felafal sandwiches are my favorites. Excellent fries too.

tried it once because i am sick of getting bad pizza in boston.  it was fine.  i would call it average pizza, basically what you would expect from a neighborhood pizza shop you don't know.
