DISCLAIMER: You Are going to read my review twice as it looks like there are two entries for Dr. Buettner. And better yet, it looks like I'll be the 1st to review her here; to make a distinction, I'll tweak this review a little (and of course, take the "1st' to review points ~I take em when I can get em). ;^)
I, like so many other yelpers, have been going Dr. Buettner for many years and she is by far the best Chiropractor I have come across.
See the problem is I have severe scoliosis (neck, rib cage & lower back) and before meeting Jackie, I had been to countless of Chiropractors, none of which were able to zero-in and diagnose my problems; so trust me, I know a good crack when I feel one. hee hee hee
Seriously, she is by far the best Chiropractor I have come across. She really knows her stuff and is very up-to-date on techniques, etc. Not to mention, in her spare time she travels around the country to conferences and in most cases, is the guest speaker. You can Google her name and a slue of links will pop-up.
More recently, over the weekend, I helped my Mother move, and not only was I forced to lift heavy objects (because no one else could), I also took a nasty spill (landing on my forehead, blackening my eye). Needless-to-say, I was in severe pain and had difficulty sleeping because of the pain. I mean, on a scale 1 -10, it was a 10 (severe). The next morning, I called Nikkie (Jackie's assistant) and she got me in ASAP. Jackie brought out the laser, spread some minty ointment on my back and with the laser went about the problem area and viola, my back is feeling fine with no painful symptoms. Unbelievable.
I say that because honestly, in my many years of experience in going to the many quack chiros, I have never, ever experienced immediate relief; but, as I mentioned above, Jackie really knows her stuff, so it was no surprise she had me fixed up within minutes.
So if you are looking for an awesome Chiropractor, give Dr. Buettner a try. I highly recommend her.Listed in: My Five Firsts . . .

Just okay.
The office is small, in the Union Square area of SF. They accept a lot of forms of payments and insurances, plus.
Minuses... the staff are not that warm and welcoming unless you are a serious regular. The wait for your appointment is sometimes 15+ minutes which for people who are taking their lunch break to trek up the hill, not worth it.
The exam itself is done by Dr. Buettner who is knowledgeable and kind yet I feel that she is a bit money hungry and ALWAYS pressed for time. She doesnt really engage in conversation as I have had with other chiros and is just about business. So much that they do a ph test on your tongue and then try to shove pills down your throat. So much that they actually wrote out a "plan" that will cost me so many odd dollars to feel better... I mean come on, instead of writing out this plan, can I actually feel better? I mean stop trying to ask me to pay up front for visits that I may or may not schedule. Sheesh.
I never actually felt true results so I stopped going.
Only perk was that I got a free pillow which was covered through my insurance.
With so many other chiros in SF and the area I live, it wasn't worth wasting my lunch hour for nothing. -

I went to Dr. Buettner based on Anthem insurance & her Yelp reviews. From the second my exam started she was interrupting my telling about the bike accident that cases me to come there in the first place & making insulting comments about why I hadn't completed care earlier, etc.
Later when I brought up the problem of our 'chemistry' as she called it, she felt it was my fault for being combative much as I felt she was loud & had bad rapport skills. Needless to say, like a bad date neither of us plan to see each other again. I would take these reviews with a grain of salt & realize she apparently isn't for everyone. -

I have been seeing Jackie for over 12 years now - she is, without question, the BEST! I love her demeanor, her staff and most of all her expertise and dedication to her profession.
HIGHLY RECCOMENDED - unless you are into back pain, that is...... -

I started seeing Dr. Jacalyn Buettner several years ago after being involved in a couple of minor rear-end collisions. They were indeed minor, but left me with terrible stiffness in my neck and shoulders. I was always afraid of chiro treatment - that whole bone-cracking thang, ya know? She examined me, took x-rays, and diagnosed my problem. After about 6 weeks of 2x week treatment, I was so much better. I still go around once a month or so for a tune-up.
Dr. Jackie aka Dr. Bubbles is a delightful person. She's a salt of the earth gal from Ohio and really cares about her patients. Office staff is very efficient and sweet. Easy to get an appointment. They also offer massage. Recommended! -

My life is better with Dr. Buettner in it. I was diagnosed with a bulging disk and was put on heavy medication and physcal therapy that put me in a fog while still in pain. I decided to try something different and found Dr. Buettner who got me almost pain free and off my medication in less than 3 weeks. It's a miracle! Dr. Buettner's positive attitude and energy is always so inspiring.

I am very happy that I decided to see Dr. Buettner! I was getting migraines almost daily and suffer from back pain constantly from old injuries. I was a little skeptical, but after looking at my x-rays with her, I could clearly see I needed some help!
Dr. B is so nice and friendly and she remembers me when I come in. She is also very talented as I am no longer getting headaches!!
I also have to say that Clay - one of the massage gods there - is AMAZING! -

OK...I am certainly a hard sell for any sort of cracking and popping. I literally cringe when I hear or see someone crack their knuckles!!! So why get chiro? right?!! Well I was having some unfortunate drama with my back, and my acupuncturist recommend Jackie. With major hesitation I booked an appointment. I have now seen Jackie many times, and she has worked me out in a fabulous way. I still do not like people cracking their knuckles, but Jackie took all my feelings into consideration and walks me through each visit to keep me calm. She truly is the best. A kind and spectacular woman. I would recommend her to any chiro-phobe!!!

The lovely and talented Jackie Buettner has changed my neck from a cracking, popping, painful mess, into a pain and worry free state of happiness. JBue knows her stuff, and is a fun, bubbly gal that has a great bedside manner. If you've got problems, she's got the cure. 5 visits and my neck is like new.

Dr. Buettner is a FANTASTIC chiropractor and a life saver! I have been playing soccer all my life (50+ years) and have been struggling with old injuries for some time now. I should have stopped playing soccer years ago but thanks to Dr. Buettner I am still playing the game I love.
I have been a patient of Dr. Buettner for 18 years now and feel blessed to have her in my life! I cannot count the number of times I have limped into her office with my neck jammed, my hip out of place or my back in searing pain. Every single time I left her office there was total relief. After a few more sessions I was as good as new and ready to go back out to the soccer field for more fun( and punishment)!
I cannot say enough about Dr. Buettner's, kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and amazing gift to take a person out of pain. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Buettner, and thank her for helping me to remain an athlete for all these years. -

I've found the Dr. Buettner fansite!
GOOD - because she deserves one. I've recommended her to everyone know who suffers from back pain. She is absolutely amazing, as a chiropractor and just a wonderful, caring, funny person. I've been seeing her for over 5 years now. I have both mild/moderate scoliosis and lower back pain as a result of a long ago car accident, and she has helped me so much.
One other thing I'd like to add - if I am in pain, I call and she always gets me in that same day. If she is going to be away (which is not often), she arranges to have other very good chiropractors come in to cover in her office, but ALWAYS her receptionist let's me know in advance so that I don't schedule an apointment to see her and have another doc there instead. I reall like that! If it isn't urgent i'd prefer to see Dr Buettner and appreciate that courtesy.
Definitely 5 stars! -

I love Dr. Buettner. She is my ambassador to good health. Her dedication and passion for total wellness is commendable. After spending 6 weeks in pain, she identified the root cause and worked to resolve the issue. I've also been seeing her for nutrition advise. She came up with a tailored plan and I feel amazing. I sleep better, have more energy, and feel very relaxed. Sonal & Amanda are wonderful :-)

I've been fighting back, neck and shoulder issues for years. And with Dr Buettner's help I'm healthier then I've been in awhile. She's been incredibly knowledgeable, professional and most importantly - careful.
She never goes through a cracking routine - each visit she only adjusts what's needed. I've gone to other chiros and come out worse. Not so here.
Highly recommended to anyone that's looking for a good Doc. The office staff is excellent as well and they're great with walkins, when you need attention quick -

Dr. Jackie and her staff are the BEST!!! I am so happy I chose this office to help me with my back/neck pain. And I chose it because of the great reviews Dr. Beuttner has on Yelp! From my first visit I had a great experience. Dr. Beuttner always listens to what I have to say and doesn't rush through the appointments. Six months ago I was in pain all the time from neck and lower back injuries. Today I am 99% pain free in my neck and have only occassional lower back pain due to severe scoliosis (that I didn't even know I had!). I am going to be moving soon and sincerely regret I will not be able to have Dr. Buettner to visit for the occassional adjustment!

I've been seeing Dr. Buettner since 2006 & what a wonderful difference! she makes each visit quick & easy and always leaves me feeling completely rejuvenated. I grew up on chiropractic care so have felt very biased about seeking the right quality chiropractor which I am so grateful to have started seeing her! She was recommended by a coworker and learned that her office is conveniently located at 450 Sutter in the same building as my dentist. Since I work on Union Square it just doesn't get any better! Her office staff have always been extremely courteous and even her new team members carry on the same genuine service. They really appreciate the timing of appointments which is so refreshing! also love how they sometimes suggest slight timing changes if that helps to coordinate a faster appointment. I would definitely recommend Dr. Buettner to anyone looking to get into a good routine of chiropractic care.
