This places makes my mouth all happy. Happy happy happy mouth full of crepes!!! Happy is the opposite of what a snow come in Philly in August is: other than slowly dying a very undignified death, it is thoroughly depressed.
I want me some crepes wrapped up like a snow cone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CUSTARD!!!!!!

OK, their lack of availability is really starting to bug the hell out of me. Nevermind the fact that they aren't even open on Monday or Tuesday (WTF PEOPLE) but I lost count of how many times I've passed by this place wanting to get my Crepe on but they're randomly closed. On top of that, might I repeat that they aren't even open past 8PM!? What the hell is going on here?
It's not cool either to jack-up the prices on the people who have given you so much play when you were the new kid on the block to offset your weird business hours. You're good, but not that good to keep your crepes hostage like that!
My 'horniness' has waned for this place. They need to do something about this, because a Viagra is not enough to keep the horn up. So hot and cold.

Mmm! I finally happened on Unicorn Crepes when they were actually open! Of course, for a split second, I thought they would seriously disappoint considering the number of times I walked/drove by thinking, will they be open this time? So delighted they did not disappoint.
Unicorn Crepes is a cute corner shop in the ID. I could easily lull myself into thinking I was in Japan with the asian pop music playing in the background, the totally Japanese plastic crepe sample displays and assorted Japanese magazines and books. It's clean and bright inside complete with Japanese speaking, crepe making shop attendants.
I had the savory okonomiyaki crepe which was satisfying and delicious. I also sampled the chocolate-banana-custard crepe. The crepes are a good size, wrapped in a cone which makes for a yummy treat or meal on the go. Great for a street fair or walking around the ID. We chose to sit inside the cozy shop to soak in the atmosphere. I did notice that a few other patrons came in and exclaimed, "you're actually open!"

It has been awhile since I visited Chinatown, so it was a pleasant surprise for me to find this place open. I had the strawberry choco whip crepe and it was delicious. I wasn't used to eating it in a paper cone so some of the strawberry sauce dripped down onto me a few times, but I stilled enjoyed my yummy crepe. The crepes are around $4-5, and a little more if you add a few additional toppings. There is a $.50 charge if you pay with a card that's under $5 which kinda sucks. I was sad after I was done eating my crepe because I was craving for another one! I'll try it with ice cream next time...yum.

I've been trying to go to Unicorn Crepes for sometime now, but we always seem to either not be able to find parking that makes sense in the neighborhood or we try to go on a day they are closed. We finally went tonight and found out that they are open til 9 pm instead of 8 and that Sundays are the only day they close at 8 pm.
The requisite Backstreet Boys songs were playing on the stereo and it was kind of funny seeing all four employees lined up in a sort of conveyor belt motif, justing waiting for the next person's order. They were also waaaayyyy over perky for my taste, but maybe the rain this evening was making me grumpy.
Either way, the crepes in a cone thingy is fabulous and we had the tuna salad and strawberry corn flake iced whip. I can safely say that these crepes will haunt my dreams until I have another. Plus both of the ones we ordered came to under $10. You can't beat that.

Not bad and the food is pretty tasty. It reminds me of the crepes you can get in Vancouver. Only thing that sucks is that they had to raise prices because...well everything is going up. I guess I can't knock them for the way things are going on this country.

I went to Unicorn crepes last weekend and had a lame-o experience :(
The guy working the counter handed me the wrong crepe and when I discovered this after 3 or so bites I went back to the counter to ask if the crepe I had was the strawberry ice corn flake choco whip that I ordered. He said, no, it was just strawberry ice and it was my fault because I grabbed the wrong crepe, and he didn't even offer to make over the crepe that I ordered. Not to mention the crepe I ordered was more expensive than the one he handed to me. I've been going here 2-6x monthly, I'm really disappointed this is how they treat regulars...
Go to Saley they use Nuetella, way better than the Hersheys Syrup at Unicorn.

NOT GOOD. the crepe itself was flabby and soggy, the strawberries were of the sugared, formerly frozen sort, and there's only one flavor of ice cream. If you've ever eaten REAL japanese crepes (like at Sophie's Crepes in SF's J-town) you will be sorely disappointed. For over $6 get yourself a tasty dessert.
It's just a choice of,,,
A. Go there before my stop at Kinokuniya+Uwajimaya
B. Go there after my stop at the above
Most likely my answer is A.
Cuz I can't wait, man!
My favorite since I was 8 is the "Ice Banana Choco Whip." Something like that,,,the order of the ingredients don't matter,,,as long as all of them in it.
Yummmmmy

in downtown seattle unicorns exists =) in all seriousness, this japanese style crepes shop was pretty good. heres my take:
the GRUB:
- i had the strawberry daifuku with ice cream - yum. the strawberry was was really sweet but the ice cream and mochi daifuku balls added that umph to balance the sugar and syrup. it was like a soft pancakey ice cream cone. or even like a squishy fruit filled hot pocket with ice cream - tasty either way.
- there was a wide menu of stuff including non-fruit dessert style crepes, and even some lunch style crepes: spicy tuna, okinamiyaki, pizza, etc.
the JOINT:
- i love the wax display case - very japanese
- small space but quaint with enough tables to service their patrons
- in chinatown, great spot kinda away from traffic
the SQUEEZE:
- priced right for a downtown seattle dessert
- bring quarters for parking
- remember to tip your CREPE-arista
the FINAL WORD:
yummy unicorn horns in seattle.

My lovely Sunday that started with Molly Moon's ice cream, followed by dim sum at Jade Garden, had started to go sour. The male contingent that we had been dining with decided to lose us ladies in Uwajimaya (after trying to lose us in the McDonald's ID Street Fair- yuck), and we were pissed.
After completely giving up on them, we slunk back towards our car, defeated, when all of the sudden, Unicorn Crepes magically appeared in front of us- much like I imagine a real unicorn would appear in a forest. We were mesmerized by the amazing crepe display cases and the smell... and on top of it all, one of my favorite songs by Musiq Soulchild was playing on the stereo.
Like 5-year olds, we giddily ooh'd and ahh'd over the plastic crepe displays and sang along to the song with the staff, who was busily creating crepe masterpieces behind the counter. I ordered the blueberry whip crepe and was immediately transported to a magical land of delicious sweetness and yumminess, all wrapped up in a cone, to be eaten like ice cream.
The lovely Sunday was saved.

Hooray! Unicorn Crepes finally re-opened (June 20) after a three-week closure due to remodeling. Not much has changed in the physical layout of the place, but I was happy to see that they expanded their menu to accommodate 20+ new crepes!
I usually make a pit stop at Unicorn Crepes at least once a week when I am not really hungry and need something to tie me over to my next meal. The following items I've had and the price listed is the new price since they reopened. Next to it is the price increase. The price increase was due to the cost of ingredients going up.
Sweet: Strawberry Whip ($3.99/.34), Strawberry Choco Whip ($4.25/.60), Strawberry Custard Whip ($4.50/.51), Ice Strawberry Whip ($3.99/.26), Strawberry Yogurt Whip ($4.50/.51), Custard Pudding ($4.50/.85), Choco Whip ($2.99/no change), Almond Choco Whip ($3.99/.34), Corn Flake Choco Whip ($3.99/.34), Banana Choco whip ($3.99/.34) and Banana Custard Choco Whip ($4.50/.51). Some of the above items have a blueberry option also! Plus the custard they use is organic.
Light Meal (Savory): The following are all $5.95 (up .96) - Unicorn Crepe, Teriyaki Chicken Salad, Teriyaki Cheese Chicken Salad, Tuna Cheese Lettuce, Potato Salad ($4.99/no change), Tuna Lettuce ($3.99/no change) and Spicy Tuna ($4.99/new item). The Unicorn, Teriyaki Chicken Salad and Teriyaki Cheese Chicken Salad Crepes are seasonal and available in the fall.
So if you happen to be in the area, stop by and grab a great Japanese-style crepe from these guys! They are super nice and you will leave with a smile on your face! I hope that Stephanie P's quote isn't true: "Every time you smile, a unicorn gets punched in the face." If it is, just look at it as collateral damage!
*If you pay by card and your purchase is under $5, then you will be assessed a fee of .50.

Excellent crepes! Love their strawberry corn flake choco crepe, strawberry choco crepe and strawberry yogurt crepe. I still would like to try their other wide variety of creative crepe fillings as well. The fact that they roll their crepes into little cones make it very easy and convenient to eat them on the go (perfect for take-out lunch in the middle of the day). Highly recommended!

Chinatown, not my favorite place. But since Unicorn Crepe has gotten so many positive review, I decided to overcome any ominous feeling I get whenever I'm in Chinatown, and venture out there to try this place out.
The place is barely above hole-in-the-wall, and though all of the sales are to-go, there are seating for at least eight people (probably more like 12 but I didn't really pay attention). I asked for their most popular sweet item, they suggested strawberry and red bean. I like strawberry, and I like red bean, but I don't like strawberry with red bean. So they suggested vanilla ice cream and strawberry. Okay, lets see how their version stacks up against my homemade version. Theirs is good, but not buttery good. And eating crepe like a burrito takes some getting used to. But the fact that I didn't need a napkin to wipe my hands when all is said and done impressed me. I think I would even eat this in my car.
But at $7 each (okay, $6 + $1 tip), that's robbery since it took me just three bites to finish one crepe. And no, I don't have a big mouth or a deep throat.
My main gripe is not so much about the store but more about Chinatown itself. Chinatown is horrendous when it comes to street parking; I circled the blocks for around 15 minutes before I found a spot. And there is always some homeless person asking you for spare change or lying down on the sidewalk bleeding.
I like to see this place move out of Chinatown someday, or at least have another store that's not in Chinatown.

It's called Unicorn Crepes! What's not to love about unicorns and crepes! It's like puppies and rainbows and flowers and sunshine. You get the picture.
I loved the wax sample crepes in the pretty display case, the friendly staff, and the free ice water with lemon in the pretty glass jug.
More importantly, I loved my strawberry-choco crepe, tucked in a little paper cone. It was very easy to eat and very, very delicious! Perfect treat after eating lunch at Fort St George. We sat in the adorably decorated shop.
The only downfall may be their inconsistent hours; apparently they close sporadically and were closed for a while for renovations but today they were open and I believed in miracles.

It's definitely worth a try at the very least. The crepes are shaped like an upside down unicorn horn(or just a ice cream cone) and all very nicely prepared. The flavorings might get a bit redundant after awhile but I'm sure they'll bring out new toppings once that happens. Mostly a mixture of strawberries, banana and puddings of some sort.
They are one of the few ID restaurants that take credit cards!!!!
Just don't try putting the crepes on your head... it won't give you special mythical powers(I've tried..)

This is apparently categorized as "Asian" crepe, because of the way it's folded. I didn't know that before, though I thought it was a nifty way of getting to eat the whole darn thing, with every drop of ice cream in it (should I choose to go with added ice cream that day).
I'll concede that it does not necessarily taste like French crepes... like how Chinese egg rolls don't taste like Filipino egg rolls, yada yada... don't get me into food influences and arguments about culture modifications, because, in the end, all I will have to say about it is.. get over it. I like these crepes, too... ANYWAY.
I like me some crepes. And sometimes I like me some crepes with strawberries... and sometimes with banana and nutella... sometimes with added whipped cream... or ice cream... Mmmm... It's such a nice dessert stop after something salty or greasy in the ID. (They're good enough for me without having to try the salad crepes or the pizza crepes. Anybody else try those and have words?)
One thing that's disturbing is that they always look like they've gone out of business. When they're closed, that is. They board it up when they're out. Sometimes I wonder if they have set times for being open... because... although there's a sign noting their hours of operation, I go to the ID at the same time every week, and sometimes they're open when I get there... sometimes they're closed. (Probably just Asian timing).

Unicorn Crepes is easy to find in the International district with friendly staff and most important delicious Crepes . My favorite so far is the Ice Strawberry whip . I also had a fresh lime aid that was good on a warm summer day. awhile i was exploring the city grit flowed with the air as it got on my hands so i washed up in the unicorn bathroom which was dim with mood light and it was especially clean . This is a must go to place when going to the I.D for a snack.
mmmm. Crepes....
I truly enjoy coming here, the owners are sweet, the service is fast, and not only is the decor cute, but the crepes are fantastic! They have a pretty extensive menu, although a lot of it is kind of mix and match, but still pretty awesome. I love the way they wrap their to go crepes in an ice cream type wrapper, but then they also take it to the next level and put it in a plastic bag that perfectly fits the crepe.
Awesome. Go get some crepes!
Things should stabalize regarding the hours now the renovation has been completed and new employees have been hired to cover more hours. I stumbled in on their first day open again and I can tell you that their menu looks more awesome than ever and the decor has definitely gotten an upgrade.

There are so many reasons why I am giving Unicorn Crepes five stars....
First, the sheer existence of this place, in our own city, just makes me happy. Second, the staff is so very nice, and the presentation of the menu is something to behold (plastic replicas).
So we're off to a good start, now onto the crepes. I've spent a lot of time in France and have had a lot of crepes. I have always thought the existing crepe restaurants here in Seattle to be a bit the pretentious side. In my mind, crepes are a casual affair.
Okay, now really onto the crepes. Do not let the bizarre crepe concoctions intimidate you, they know what they're doing. I was immediately enchanted by the pizza crepe. My companion went for the tuna salad with cheese and egg crepe. It was pure delight. They use the same batter regardless of the crepe being sweet or savory. Again, don't be turned off, it's good. The sweetness just adds to the magic that are these crepes.

My favorite place to eat crepes, anywhere else I go to get crepes can't compare. Too bad it's closed on Mondays. I like the custard and creme crepe and I won't budge from that flavor. I usually don't have to eat dinner afterwards because it's kind of filling. Kind of not filling, always feel like having two but don't want to look like a pig with two crepes walking around the streets.
Seattle is now home to the first and only authentic japanese crepe shop in the state! The service is always friendly and enthusiastic. They're an ambitious group!
The location is great, since it's only a short walk from uwajimaya's in the international district. There is a really good japanese bakery next door, too.
They offer a large selection of both sweet and savory crepes, with a secret menu that is soon to become their primary menu. I haven't had the savory crepes. My sweet tooth has been too distracted by their other offerings :D
I recommend one with custard in it, they make it themselves! Yummy and fresh blueberries, strawberries, whip cream, chocolate sauce, bananas, wafers, lots of things to make your belly purrrr. :3
*** TIPS: It may sound weird, but take a peak into their bathroom. It was decorated by one of the owners, and she made the little dioramas behind the door herself!

Suggestion: Spend some time in the bathroom whether you gotta go or not. Red Light district meets opium love den complete with crazy beads and the dark amber glow. After a friend told me about it I went in there just for funsies and totally tripped out for 5 minutes wondering if I could get a gram and a half of Peru's finest delivered. Delicious, conveniently-packaged in a cone-form, and trendy in an energetic, not-too-pretentious way. The Japanese pop/alt music probably helped the atmosphere too, as did the very nice service. If you're crossing the street on the way there and see a crowd meandering in the same direction, walk faster so you beat them and grab one of the few seats in the shop. Heheheh.
Going here totally made up for the crappy dim sum place we picked. We should've just gone here for the main meal too.

These are crepes in the Asian style, and I will tell you, even as, umm, a person in the Asian style, I prefer my crepes other ways (e.g. French).
The wax display samples are fun and the place is really cute; it's a fresh, slightly wacky update of a fairly traditional space.
But the savory crepe fillings are too narrowly focused (about a half-dozen options, including Teriyaki, Teriyaki Cheese Chicken Salad, Chili Dog, add-ons include cabbage, corn flakes...). And the sweet crepes are mostly swing-and-miss. The custard is good, but the "whip" tastes like whipped topping, not whipped cream. The blueberry crepes had real blueberries (I think from frozen?) but the mixed fruit crepe was full of canned fruit cocktail.
Most things on the menu will set you back at least $4.25 with tax, which feels a little steep for the sweet crepes, given what you get.

Unicorn crepes is my NEW addiction! They are soo good, I went 3 times in one week (no joke). I'm starting to feel like a crepe-holic :P And its bad enough that the owners are starting to recognize me and say "hi" like they're my closest friends. hahaha.. I've only had their dessert crepes but their savory crepes looks interesting...
First attempt on going there, they had closed early for the night (on their sign it closes at 8pm but in winter sometime closes at 6pm) so I was disappointed because I wanted to try it. But the next day I went back and this time EXTRA early and I finally got to try it. I ordered the strawberry with custard crepe along with a green tea. It was heaven. :) My boyfriend got the blueberry ice with whip crepe and his was bomb too.
After trying others, I've decided I'm set on strawberry ice whip or strawberry custard crepes.. they are soo yummy!
Bobby (one of the owners) takes careful time to roll the crepes up and make sure all the filling is in place which is good because they can be messy. :)

So tasty! I work in the ID, and there are days when I just can't stomach yet another lunch involving rice or noodles. (Which is a very hard feat, considering I'm Asian and all.) So when I passed by Unicorn Crepes, I knew I had to try.
The place reminds me of all the crepe stands you'll find in Tokyo, where you'll find light savory crepes amongst the plentiful sweet selections -- not to mention the wax food display! Unicorn also has some nice teas, too. However, there isn't much by way of seating, so plan on taking your crepe to go. And they're rather small, so if you've got a big sweet tooth you might want to take two.
The shop is clean and bright. The proprietors are super-friendly, and my strawberry whipped cream crepe was in my hand within minutes of ordering. The crepe itself was perfectly cooked: light and sweet. I can't wait to go back for more!

I love the concept of eating sweet or savory filled crepes, rolled up into a cone (hence, unicorn). So cute! And of course I love that they are the light and sweet Japanese style, instead of dry and boring French style. Please make sure to try anything with their home-made custard--it is sweet, creamy, rich, and made with real vanilla beans! This is a very worthy business to support. You can tell that every detail of the food and the space itself is well thought out.
Don't forget to stop in the bathroom before you leave, even if you don't have to use it. Trust me. The decor is so cute... you'll see. :)
Unicorn Crepes.
I labeled this small little Crepe shop as Asian Fusion but it might be more accurate to call it French Fusion.
Using a traditional Crepe stove you would find in other Creperies around the world, they advertise that their Crepe's are lighter, moister, and fluffier than their French counterparts. I should mention that I believe that this type of Creperie is from Japan.
Those of you who have visited Japan will be slightly disappointed though as the size of these crepes are about half the size of those you would find across the Pacific.
You can choose from an assortment of fillings from savory to sweet. She had the strawberry custard cream Crepe which was pretty good actually. They make their own custard in house and I gotta say that it is just the right sweetness and not too cloying.
I had the Unicorn Crepe which is kind of like a Chicken Teriyaki with Egg and salad + Mayo crepe Burrito. Pretty good as well, they end up toasting the outside of the crepe a bit more on the "Light Lunch Crepes". Think Grilled Stuffed Burrito from Taco Smell.
Anyhow, it's a nice little spot when you're not starving and want a quick bite or a little something sweet. They hand out punch cards and the freebie comes after only 5 visits. Nice little shop.
Oh btw, they have those delicious looking plastic models in all their fake glory adorning half the store so you know what you're getting.

Crepes... Japanese style. This place rocks. Its the best crepe place I've been to that is true to the Asian style of delivery of taste and experience. From the plastic models to the little wrappers.
They have lots of flavors offered on their menu but, in addition to that they have a "secret" menu that you have to ask for at the cashier (they are daily/seasonal specials they have, not a printed menu). The 'secret' or 'ura' menu tends to be more for the Japanese taste bud, like Okonomiyaki Crepe and Azuki Daifuku....
In short.. I wish this place was closer to home. ..now i have to decide eat here or samurai ramen. ugh. choices.
Btw... if you watch any Japanese drama, and see the cheesy scenes of couples eating crepes in Harajuku, and wanted to try it.. this is the closest you'll get to it in Seattle.

The first thing you have to know is "You gotta try this awesome place."
They have amazing crepes that no other creperies have in Seattle. The interior of the shop is so beautiful and also they play satelite radio with some nice old pop songs and sometimes J-pops. Anyways, this crepe tastes so good, I mean SOOOOOO~ Good,, They have beautiful crepe models.
I see some people say the size of their crepe but I think it's not too bad 'cause it's crepe. something you eat after your luch or dinner, you know..
Just remember this, This crepery gives great taste. Their crepe is kinna different.
I think all the people live in Seattle will be so much happier than before with this amazing crepes Remember that You Gotta Try this~
Then you would understand what I'm talking about I personally tried in my whole life. I've tried the Pike Place Market, the one on Pike Street, Sally's crepe in Capital Hill, and many other., Other creperies are good too but I think if you want to have a crepe you should go to Unicorn crepe!
almost forgot to tell you what I tried,,, I tried both sweets and light meals. Sweet crepe I tried was Banana Custard Chocolate crepe and light meal was Tuna Cheese crepe. It was fantastic. They said that the custard cream is homemade and organic. Like I already said, it was super fantastic. The Tuna Cheese was so good and I really enjoy watching how they make because they show everything right in front of you. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!!

The time finally has came.
Japanese style crepes.
Do you know what we are good at?
Modifying, or changing or transforming.
We change every thing into "Japanese style" whatever that means.
The crepes might not taste same as French crepes.
Well, they probably don't.
But you know, we make good cars, so why not crepes?
Anyways, I went to the place a week ago.
What impressed me first was the display.
The little crepe wax figures looks just like ones in Japan.
(However, they are probably imported from Japan)
The crepe I ate was ah.... chocolate and bananas or something like that. (I can't memorize any "English" words, sorry)
It tasted really real, I mean good.
There were a lot of bananas and chocolate and whipped cream
inside of the mighty rolled crepe.
One good thing about it is that they are rolled and wrapped with a paper, so you can walk and eat.
(Although they have some tables and enough chairs to sit down)
The butter was kind of soft for Japanese style crepe but wasn't too bad.
The price range was pretty reasonable. (around $4)
You gotta pay more to get a same crepe in Japan.
Oh, one more thing.
They use real whipped cream, not caned.

While it is located in the international district and not in the main stream walking distance of all the shops in downtown, it is definately worth it! They offer something a little different. When I moved to Seattle a while back the first thing I searched for was a good place to find Crepes. I found a few places, but they all disappointed me in some way or another. A week back when I passed by Unicorn Crepes and saw that they were just opening that day, There's no way I couldn't stop by!
And wow what a great surprise! Possibly the best crepes I've ever had in my life- and I've kept going back almost every day this week.

It's like Harajuku-in-a-box. Unlike most of the tiny creperies in Tokyo's youth-focused Takeshita-douri, there are some savory options, but most of the savory versions aren't that exciting. The custard cream is respectable, when they haven't run out, and the crepes are suitably thin and gently browned. They stay mushy rather than crisping at the edges, which I guess is the "fluffy" attribute they tout on their menu.
Personally, I'm a partisan of buckwheat-based galettes, which, in Tokyo, means I have to go to La Bretagne in nearby Omotesando and spend $80 for lunch and dessert for two yet somehow don't feel cheated in any way. In Seattle, it means putting up with distracted Capitol Hill waitstaff at 611 and getting a slightly-too-thick monstrosity laden with 12 ingredients. I can't always have what I want.
But when I just want a lit
