Underground Games is a neat place! Come on in, put a bit of cash on the barrelhead, and you can play XBox 360, Wii, or Playstation 3 games to your heart's content. They've got two big wall screens upstairs, four medium-sized screens downstairs, and four "pods" -- personal-sized lounges with their own dedicated screens. Their selection of games is good, though not immense, with a fairly heavy emphasis on the latest and greatest stuff. (They've only been open a month, so I expect their catalog to grow and fill in a bit as time goes on.) Best of all, if you decide you want to buy a game to take it home after playing it for an hour, the cost of your play time is credited to the purchase price. In addition to the walk-in rates ($7.00/hr), there are memberships available that reduce the hourly fee fairly dramatically.

Bryan and Nicole, the owner-operators, are very friendly and helpful. They seem to have already amassed a bit of a following, as I saw several groups of people come through the place to play during the couple of hours I spent there. Kids are welcome, though those under 16 have to be accompanied by an adult. (A sensible precaution, since they do have some M-rated games in their catalog.)

It's great to see someplace like this within walking distance of campus. Since we lost Diversions a few years back, it's nice to have a social gaming center in town once more.
