7 reviews for Uncle Si's Pizza
Uncle Si's makes terrific pizzas, either their creative ones right off th menu, or build your own. In four years I've never had a bad pizza there. Possibly the best pizza on the eastside.
The problem with Uncle Si's is a) it's expensive ($20 for a large pizza), and b) the service is inconsistent at best. Whether ordering a pickup or eating in, you never know if you will get good service or not. Usually not. Eating in is usually slow to ridiculously slow - one time we went in at the same time friends went to the restaurant next door. We saw them heading back to their car before we had our pizza, and we were the only ones in the place.
Definitely the tastiest place on the Ridge, and the only place besides Ana's that I will actually eat at, even with the bad service.
Good pizza, but suffers from value issues IMO. Pies are pricey but good.
I work very near to Uncle Si's, so I've been there quite often. The pizza is delicious, though quite expensive, and service is decent but can be quite slow. They've got a lot of variety on the menu, and their specialty pies are the best on the Ridge.
The subs are pretty good too, especially The Mountaineer, though like the pies are quite expensive. A sub + side salad runs about 11$, which may be reasonable by Ridgey standards, but from my perspective is over priced. Still, they're way better than anywhere else in the area, but I can't give them 4 starts because of the prices. I wish Yelp allowed 3.5 stars, because Uncle Si's is definitely better than 3.
Good pizza. But you absolutely cannot be in a hurry! They have one oven. One! If you see a crowd, don't bother! Try the spinach salad, it's pretty good.
Very expensive pies. Don't order in-house as service is lousy. Quality is not bad but not what would would expect for the price. Only sat down once and would not give them business again. Sorry but if you command top dollar, you need to perform the service and they just don't have it.
The pizza here is amazing! Unfortunately, the service has been bad all three times I've been. I won't be going there anymore because I am so uncomfortable in there.
The last time I was in, I stood at the counter directly across from two employees for 5 minutes while they discussed how to write down a phone order. No one was ahead of me in line. They did not acknolwedge me until their conversation was over. At that time, they gave me my order which I had called in ahead and had been ready the whole time I was waiting.
The time before that they told me it would take 25 minutes for my order to be ready, but it actually took 45 minutes. I had called it in ahead so I could hurry it back to a work meeting.
The staff is especially unfriendly. They do not smile or thank you for your business. But, really, if you don't mind slow and unfriendly, the pizza is hard to beat and it smells great in the restaurant.
Oh man, whenever I'm hungry for pizza, all I can think about is eating the crispy flavorful thin-crusted Uncle Si's pizza. I normally do not eat the crust but the pizza is so good that I end up eating everything. The pizza menu has everything from traditional toppings to creative blends of herbs and cheeses. Or if you want, you can create your own special pizza. They also offer a good variety of good beers and wines. There are interesting artwork and antiques to look at on the walls. All in all, I really enjoy eating their pizzas at Uncle Si's.
Oh, the lunch time special is also a value at $5.99 for an 8" pizza.
YUMMERS!
