On a hot day, heading out of the park, there is nothing better than something cool and refreshing. Uncle Louie G's, which seems to be a Brooklyn institution, happens to be located conveniently outside the PPSW exit to the park in the Windsor Terrace area. This area, which was devoid of much worthy business in years past is now home to two coffee chops, four deli's, 2 pizza joints if you count laura's), and our very own Uncle Louie G's. The Italian ices at this location are great and the size options work well, especially the smallest which is perfect if you  want something thats a little more than a taste. They also have ice cream, which I actually prefer over the ices. Thats just me, I am more of an ice cream type of guy. But every once in a while an ice just hits the spot. You'll also notice in passing that there are several new concoctions throughout the summer including, chocolate covered banana's, chocolate covered banana's with peanut butter filling, chocolate covered strawberries, marshmallows, etc.

Louie's is a good occasional substitution for a pint of Ben & Jerry's.
