My first job after college left me in a bit of a compromising living situation for a couple months. I had no money, and was sleeping on a cot in my buddy's living room. Worth noting this was the living room of a one BR apartment! I had no internet and my clothes were stacked on top of a guitar amp.

This place was a few blocks down and my saving grace with regards to my internet fix. You got to buy a drink, but they aren't bad. Place has a cool techie-coffee vibe. I was able to keep up on my email fwd's of dogs wearing people clothes, and life was good!

Thanksgiving evening, 9 PM: I dont have internet installed in the new place yet, I have an exam (that my evil, short professor has given us over the break) I need to work on, and of course, nothing is open. Except Uncle Elizabeths. I  was so happy I almost hugged the lady working behind the counter! Coffee, limited food items, and internet. Internet was a little luggish at first, but it perked up after about 20 minutes.

This place is weird even by Capitol Hill standards.  Coffee and sweets are fine, but don't stand out.  It's very small and can be hard to find a good place to sit if you plan on hanging out for a while.  Business model of offering computer, printer, internet services, seems very 1990s.  I give it an extra star for being open till 1am.  It can be a good late night alternative to Bauhaus if for some reason you get tired of that place.  The staff is friendly and competent.  The late night clientele is what provides for the bizarre atmosphere.

When I first came to Seattle years ago, I went to Uncle E. Internet Cafe and found everyone there perfect.  Especially the owner.

Professional and friendly.  It is a great neighborhood haunt and I wish them all the success in the world.

The best coffee shop in town.  Great people, service and conversation.

The best of luck in their business.

PC, internet & printers.

All of the things that I didn't come for when I stopped by.
I needed a place to study during finals week since I can't study at home.
This was the only place open until 1am on a Sunday night.
The table was shaky and shared with someone having interesting conversation that was easily over heard and very distracting.
The tea was ok and the work area seems too dirty to be serving food.

Friendly staff, decent snacks and coffee, and a cozy place to do the internets if you're lacking an internet connection or just wanna hang out with your laptop at a place that's nothing like Starbucks.

An excellent place to pass time after work.  As I've found, it is unfortunately situated across the street from McMeniman's so it has taken me awhile to actually meander in here (I get distracted by really good beer).  Anyways, the atmosphere here is quirky as others have mentioned. It's not exactly the place to meet folk as they're all on computers for the most part.  The Internet is sluggish at times, but it gets the job done.  I've been past here times before on my way to work just to grab a piece of fruit or banana. About the on the way to work, this place is conveniently situated just above the Washington State Convention center so it's a good place to pass time after work or unwind.  For instance, today I'm sipping some iced tea and resting my feet before I head down to the market.

OH TEA! This place gets extra stars for carrying loose leaf tea and though I do not drink coffee, they serve Cafe D'Arte coffee beans.

Next time you pass McMeniman's, look across the way and give Uncle Liz's a try.

This is a great place to go if you don't have access to a computer and you NEED your Yelp fix!

Oh, you thought you were the only Yelp addict, did you?

They understand the Internet Addiction at Uncle Elizabeth's Internet Cafe where they provide desk tops, printers, and caffeine. And, yes, the atmosphere in here is every bit as odd as the name would imply.

Through a twist of fate, as my boyfriend entered the imperial march from Star Wars was playing. While he's not that menacing, he said it made him feel really important.

We were on our way to a concert and a little shaky on the address. We were cold, and  instead of walking around in circles we popped into Uncle Elizabeth's.  A  few quick minutes on the  computer, a peppermint latte to go and we were warmed and educated for the remainder of  our walk.

What a convenient spot. No attitude only service.

Panini YUM!  I never bothered to go into this place til I noticed the sign for the new hot sandwiches.  I've tried a couple different ones, the best was the Club.
The place is a little weird, but the barista is super nice and doesn't get mad when I ask which menu items are good.
I work in the basement where there are no windows so one of my main criteria for a good lunch spot is a bright and cheery atmosphere.  Uncle Liz is not really hitting the mark with that one, but that's really my only gripe.
Don't forget to order yourself a shortbread cookie... they have about six flavors and they are all good.

I think a smoothie is only $3.90 and they are huge and really good. The best I've had on capitol hill and you get to pick 3 fruits/protiens to put in.

I like it here, the classical music, that a black americano does not taste burnt, and that no one hassles me if I just want to stay for 2 hours on the one cuppa.  The soup of the day is generally tasty.  There is occassionally parking if you take a right at the first street after passing it in the right, but it is Capitol hill and not much is to be expected.
