Everyone should go to Doe Fang for Uncle Clay's magical creamy icee.  So good. If only he opened in all the movie theaters. He is also the nicest, most Aloha-ish person I know.  If you want to experience Aloha, go see him.

He's located in the Aina Haina Shopping Mall. There's a sign that says Doe Fang.

Love S., you're right.  Uncle Clay will hold you hostage until another customer comes along.  Heck, he even held us hostage even though another group of people walked in and got in line behind us!  But I mean this as a compliment.  Where else can you go, wait 20 minutes to be served something that comes out of a machine, and still be in a good mood and walk away with a smile on a face?  Only at Doe Fang, with Uncle Clay.

The smallest size is more like a medium and the icee itself is actually pretty thick.  I'm sure you've all had icees at one time or another that magically deflated as you were paying for it but no, that's not the kind of magic icees that Doe Fang has.

There were maybe about 10 different magic icees listed on the menu board behind Uncle Clay.  I chose the Li Hing Delight, my friends both got the Lychee-licious.  Mine was pretty simple, strawberry icee with li hing powder mixed into it, topped with a li hing mui seed.  The lychee-licious was mixed with 2 seedless lychee (humongous ones), lychee juice, secret creamy sauce, and was topped with a 3rd lychee fruit.  I don't usually like lychee but watching Uncle Clay make it, I was actually starting to regret not ordering it!

There's also an Obama-something or other magical icee that a boy ordered.  It's not on the menu but if you ask Uncle Clay about it, he'll tell you what's inside.  =)

I'll definitely be visiting again.  It's good to support local businesses, especially smaller mom & pop shops like this one.

I was gonna write about Uncle Clay for my 300th review but I goofed so I'll give you #301 Uncle Clay.

Go check out Doe Fang. An unbelievable ICEE experience. Now that Taco Bell drive through in Hawaii Kai no longer serves ICEE, there are only 2 other places to get ICEE on the east side, at Koko Marina Movie Theater or from Uncle Clay. He'll hold you hostage till another customer comes along. Either you're a fan or not, there's no in between. If you're not a fan, you can go to Carousel Candyland in Kahala Mall or to the Kaimuki Crack Seed store.

His store has been recently remodled and he doesn't sell much of the collectibles, videos, chinatown crap that he use to.  I like the new store, very clean and easy to find what you need.

Although this video is in Japanese, it speaks volumes more than what I could ever write.

We visited Uncle Clay on March 12th, 2009, and had a wonderful visit with Clay and one of his haina - part of the worldwide ohana Uncle Clay shares. We were blown away by his good cheer, happiness, and very excellent icee making abilities.

While we were taking it all in, a couple of children came into the Doe Fang. There was a boy of about 14 or 15, and a little girl who we learned was his sister of about 9 or 10. The children and Uncle Clay were so overjoyed to see one another, it just about brought tears to my eyes.

The boy explained that when he and his sister had first moved to Hawaii, they didn't know anyone outside their family. Uncle Clay had been a kind and welcoming face, and he was so glad to get to know them.

I do not exaggerate when I say we spent about an hour with Uncle Clay and his customers/ohana/guests. Honestly, I wish we would have taken him out to dinner. He was one of the most lovely people I've ever met, and he treated us like we were the best people he'd seen all day.

You must go, and experience this for yourself. He makes icees (sort of like a slushy), but he puts fantastic ingredients in them that will make them the tastiest you have ever had. He's in Aina Haina shopping center, and the sign just reads, "Doe Fang." Please. Go. He's waiting for you - I swear.

Uncle Clay is amazing.  He is super friendly and always have smile on his face.  I missed the candy store.  I interviewed him before as a school project.  People just love to stop by the place and get some Iceee.  :)  Stop by and drop in to see him :).  The legend.

I highly recommend this place for the true Hawaii local experience.  Uncle Clay perfectly captures the Aloha spirit.  He welcomes anyone that walks into his store with open arms and has a way of making each person feel special.  You will leave the store feeling delighted.  I guarantee it.

Li Hing Creamy Delight is my favorite.

Home of Hawaii's famous "Hawaiian Magic Icees", all your local favorite crack seed snacks, candy, gifts, toys, Chinaware, Chinese sundries and, of course, lots of ALOHA Spirit can be found at this landmark store in the heart of Aina Haina, in East Oahu (Honolulu), Hawaii.

One of the oldest "mom & pop" stores in Hawaii.

I used to buy "seed" and Icees here while I was waiting for the bus.  My only gripe is that I wish they had more stuff.

Uncle Clay is the best! Everyone agrees that he is the epitome of Aloha. My friend suggested we try this place for their UNIQUE ICEE mix drinks. Upon entering, Uncle Clay greets you warmth and invites you to look around. He's a great storyteller and talked about the history of the shop, and also wanted to know about us. I've never been to a place where the shop owner takes as much interest in his customers as he does. After explaining each of his special recipes, I chose the lychee mix with strawberry. He topped it off w/ fresh lychees on top, and man it was good! In fact, all their flavors are hella good (sipped some from my friend's drinks..)

nicest person you could ever meet. it takes a while to get your icee but the time passes by fast as you talk story with uncle clay. he usually introduces you to the person in front/back of you and even with all those customers, he will always remember you.

This is the best icee and crackseed store around!!  I've been coming here for years now.  The icees are inventive and the service is top notch.  I can always count on leaving Doe Fang with a happy stomach and a friendly smile with true aloha.  Highly recommended!
