My family and I have been going here for years and years.  Fond memories of my uncle who passed away a year ago.  In fact he was the one who introduced us to this restaurant.  I love their walnut shrimp oooh i can eat a whole serving by myself.  The fried rice is decent.  Service has always been good to us which is saying a lot because my family and relatives travel in packs of 20+.

Ok listen to this, its the truth.  Your not going to find better Won-Ton soup anywhere within 50 miles.  If you do, send me a message about it.  Other than that, great food, great seafood selections.  Honey Walnut Prawns are off the chain.  In Fremont and want Chinese?  Uncle Chong is the place to go.  Remember, Won ton soup.  Fast service, alright prices, ample parking.

*Edit-08Feb08*  Went there last night for my Won-ton soup, I also got Marla Chicken.  I cant believe I forgot to mention this in my first post, the stuff is bangin.  In case you cant picture it, its the lettuce taco like things.  Perfect mixture of spices and flavors.  Perfect.  So good!

My family and I only come here for their Fish, Lobster and Walnut Shrimp Dishes.  Their seafood soup is game over as well.  The Fish (rock fish) and Lobster dishes are pretty expensive but worth their amount. I also tried their crispy peking duck once but it was just like any decent canton place.

Uncle Chongs is the tried and true Chinese restaurant for me and my family.  We've celebrated our kids Christenings and have semi annual large family dinners there.  The owner and his staff are very friendly and usually greets me by name.  The prices are reasonable and the portions are large.    You cant go wrong with the honey walnut prawns, salt and pepper pork shops, garlic braised chicken and their chow mein is really good.  I my kids LOVE the deep fried bananas for dessert.  Its battered and friend and sprinkled with powdered sugar and peanuts.  I highly recommend Uncle Chongs for large group dinners.

Ok, I am a total China Chili fan but something about the high prices and the lower quality got me thinking. so I read the yelp reviews and I was willing to give it a try. Their best item is definitely the pan-asian (chow mein) noodles. They were so fresh and non-greasy. I also loved the Orange Chicken - YUM!!. Yeah this is my new chinese place and the prices are very reasonable

We've been going here for years, so I had to write about this place. Definitely good Chinese Food. The owner knows me by name only because it's his daughter's name too. But either way, it goes to shows that they're nice people, which is another reason we go back. The first, I believe, would be their fried rice. My boyfriend LOVES their fried rice. They've got a bunch of good things on the menu like the Mandarin Chicken which is basically a deep friend chicken served with a yummy sweet-spicy sauce on the side, chinese brocolli if it's in season, ginger beef, and the Hong Kong style noodle. We never go wrong coming here.

Some of the menu items are great, but some are just satisfactory. They use too much breading on some of their fried beats, like Gen. Tso's chicken.
The atmosphere is good and the wait staff is good as well.
I eat in and take out frequently and am happy now that I know the items I like best.

my dad continually wants to go back to this restaurant because the owner always calls him by name and greets him when he walks in. he seems to work 7 days a week anytime..all the time! my family and i have been going here for the last 7 years. the clientele has changed, as well as the cleanliness of the place. if you live in the east bay, the food is decent (price, quality, portions) without having to drive as far as oakland or san jose.

we usually have the garlic braised chicken, spicy sauteed string beans, salt and pepper porkchops, mar pou tofu, yu shiang scallops. the quality of the meat, seafood and veggies is not bad. the sauces are flavorful, the fried foods are not too greasy. i would skip on all the extras like dessert, drinks, appetizers, soup. mediocre quality filler!

many more people order takeout I notice, than they come into the restaurant to sit down. the food comes out quickly and the waitstaff is pretty friendly (well, to us anyways).

all this, and there's a new PIRATE store next door called SeaWolf where you can pick up an eyepatch or parrot for your shoulder while you wait.

Uncle Chong is definitely my favorite Chinese food restaurant! I've eaten here for many years and I always come back. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is great! I recommend the honey glazed walnut prawns and the orange chicken. Oh and don't forget the fried banana for dessert! Everything comes in very big portions and the prices are reasonable. Also, you can ask your waiter about their specials because they have secret stuff that is not listed on the menu...yummy!

The food is not great, but the service is very good. The chicken dishes seemed rather bland, which was easily fixed with some soy sauce and chili oil. The place is nominally priced but the food can definitely be better.

edited: my family and i boycotted this restaurant completely.
if you ever need a place to host a party --- this place is NOT it. the only decent waitress was silvia & unfortunately, she isn't enough to make us want to go back.

i HATE service here. they overcharge everything and they don't stick to their word. the owner had the audacity to YELL AT my sister in front of all our guests (which were all family, by the way). he humiliated and belittled her because she changed the ROOM (WHICH WE RENTED AND WERE GIVEN TO, BY THE WAY) the way she wanted it to look like. their stupid little servers would constantly run back and tell raymond every little thing my sister did and raymond would come stomping back with a huge ass attitude. i'm sorry, but you don't handle a business like this. it was VERY unprofessional and i'm SUPER PISSED that they treated my sister the way they did.

oh & they also told us that they wouldn't charge us the $5 frickin' bottle of soda if they weren't opened. NOPE, they charged us for that too. they charged us $681, when it was only supposed to be $610.

2 middle fingers for this restaurant.

my family and i have been coming here for about 3 years.

what happened?

i don't know if LA & it's grading system have scarred / blessed me but i'm so sad about the cleanliness of this restaurant. the food is still great eats but i just don't like the idea that all of the forks on our table were dirty (& i mean, you can't even soak that sh_t in tea because there's food residue in the crevices of it)

Decent food. Good lunch specials. The food is not too good, but it is not too bad either.
