12 reviews for Umigo Indoor Kart Racing
One of Umigo Indoor Kart Racing's Favorite Reviews What's This?
After trying Go Kart Racer (Burlingame), Lemans Karting (Fremont) and one in Santa Clara this is the one for me! Large, clean, and fun place to race! The staff (who all race when they can) were great in giving my buddy and I tips to shave time off of our laps. We ended our day at under 38 seconds per lap (The top drivers' are low 35s). We of course are convinced we can get our times down and plan on returning to see what we can do with more practice.

I've been visiting Umigo quite consistently since the Grand Opening last year. What i've found is a fun alternative to your everyday activities. Every so often you just get in the mood to go really really fast, and it helps when get bragging rights and rub it in your friends face.
For the track they have many different configurations which makes it a fun experience every time you go! The price is very reasonable for what I want out of it, and there always seem to be some form of deal to help us recent college grads out. The carts are very well maintenanced and if there is every any problem with the cart they'll let you switch out to a new one and will usually add a min or two to the times to compensate for you. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. Every time my friends and I go in we are always asking questions about the current configuration and tips on how to shave times off our laps. I've improved my times by a lot!
Overall I don't think my experience could be any better. Friendly and Knowledgeable staff, well kept karts, many different track configurations, and a very fun experience! I recommend it to anyone of any ages. I take the boys I babysit and they have a blast.
Not a fan of this place, track was cool but the day we went they had expert go cart guys racing on the track with there own helmets and suits, they ran us off the damn track no fun with them there plus they say no bumping my ass these guys were hitting us all over the place
I prob won't be back

cant speak for the racing, but having worked at a kart track for some time, i think the track layout was okay, nothing special.
My major gripe with Umigo was that they turn away business like it's going out of style. I'm no einstein, but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that it might be a good idea to leave 15 min in each hour availiable for walk ins if you have a group of regulars that schedule 4 races in a row. Due to this oversight in the scheduling, myself and 5 other paying customers were turned away by a 2+ hour wait to get out on track.
Thinking proactively, they should leave 15 min. to accommodate walk-ins (and give their regulars a break), so their business doesn't walk out the door and go to a competing facility like Go Kart Racer, i dont think the group of 8 requested "we want the track for 2 hrs with no breaks, and NO ONE else can drive"
Sounds like bad business to me!

My hubby (Speed E. Ed) and I (Curly Squirrels) had a great time at Umigo yesterday. He finally redeemed his gift certificate and I paid $15 for a 15-minute hot lap session. I've never done go kart racing before so 15 minutes didn't sound like a lot to me, but it was definitely enough.
This place is huge! I imagine they must accommodate a lot of people, but thankfully we were the only ones there at 6pm on a Wednesday.
It was cool to put on the racing suit, but when I added the head sock, neck gear and helmet, I actually got a little claustrophobic. I recommend wearing shorts and a t-shirt underneath so you don't get too hot.
The staff was pretty nice and they seemed to have a lot of fun with each other.
The racing itself was awesome. I went slowly at first because I couldn't tell which way the track turned. I soon got comfortable and was grinning from ear to ear as I fish-tailed and sped around. My hubby ended up lapping me three times so I guess I wasn't going that fast. Whatever!

Overall experience is recommendable.
They had friendly , helpful ,cheerful people working at the registration desk.
They had nice well tuned go-carts. But ,the area was a little small for racing.
A little pricey ...but it's all worth the fun!
The people were sticklers when it came to following the rules while racing...but it keeps everyone in control , i guess. But too many rules for a small racing space.
Overall recommended if you like go-carting.
Well , last night we sent all the guys to Umigo's to race the cars. They had a blast! They truly enjoyed themselves. After the fun they came back to the winery and joined us ladies for ladies night. We ate good food, drank great wine and celebrated our friends Deena's birthday.
Thanks Umigo for reserving a room for the Men in our lives.
WE will definitely be back, but next time the ladies will race too!

This place is just TOO much fun. I own Bay Area Racing Limos and have taken clients there often! Always a hit and everybody leaves with a big silly GRIN on their faces! I've also brought in my staff for a little "team building" and they all had the time of their lives! Wether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary or looking for a great spot to host a corporate event...this is a fantastic alternative to a boring lunch or dinner! Or better yet, combine your excursion with a lunch or dinner in the Livermore area or kick it up a notch and add a wine tour after you race!
Can't say enough about how cool this place is!

The women have spa days, right? Well, the men had a "Go Kart" day in Livermore it it was a lot of fun.
As one of our group said best, "There was no wasted space in regards to the track."
Get suited up (get at least one size larger that you would normally think to get because you have to put it over the clothes you wear that day), watch a quick DVD and get ready to race!
Bring your own snacks and drinks if you are hungry (they sell drinks, but no snack bar).
Watch out for car #6 (I had that one and the tires are getting bald. No traction around the turns). If you feel like "drifting", this is the place to do it. Don't get "black flagged" twice or you'll be sent to their version of the penalty box! I chipped someone's tooth because I pressed the brake instead of the gas and slammed into him when he just got into a crash himself.
Come up with a cool racing name to laugh about later (our winner for one of the races was "Ricky Bobby" (Talledega Nights).
Me? I came in last on all three races (the 1st was the qualifying heat for car position) and was dubbed "Most Likely To Be Trusted To Drive Someone's Family On Any Outing"! OUCH!!!! They give you fancy printouts of each race you completed and it shows how you ranked in your group and overall during the week with other customers.
Watch out driving home! Clenching the steering wheel so hard on that heavy go kart and it may feel weird getting into your real car (it felt so light to drive when I drove off the parking lot...LOL).
Lots of trash talking when you leave this place.

See me go! See me spin! See me drift! See me get rammed into the wall LOL! And I'm still alive!
It's my first time since what felt like a decade ago the last time I went karting. Umigo is absolutely fun. I've never drifted so much in my life. Even if you don't know how, you will learn--you have no choice anyway. Just go and you'll know what I mean.
The course/flag dudes are cool and helpful. Ventillation is awesome...I don't get 'high' or nauseous after a session but I do smell like gas afterwards.
What's not so cool--the race suits. They have sizes for the midgets, the average, and the giants which is cool but quality wise, I think I prefer Leman's Karting suits, sorry Umigo. But I'll be back with my friends since we like the course and of course, the karts.

This is a newly opened indoor kart facility in the tri-valley. I have been to a couple other indoor kart facilities in the bay area and I think this one is the best. The karts feel as quick, if not quicker than the other 2 places and the track configuration I drove was both technical yet still had some high speed sections. I believe they change the configuration every now and then, but I am not positive on that.
When I went there, I did the Grand Prix race package. This consisted of about 5 minutes of practice time, then a 5 minute qualifying session, followed by a 15-20 minute race. It may not seem like much, but when you're done, you can definately feel the fatigue. However, this sport is not cheap. For this 25-30 minutes of driving, you will end up paying about $50.
Overall, this is a very nice facility. The staff seems to know what they are doing and me and my friends had a great time out there.

these karts can hit up over 45 mph, which makes it fun!!!
the next best thing to umigo is mario kart!!!
the first time fee includes 2 12 min races, head mask and a personal DL with pic for $40.. not bad for some good quality fun!!! they also provide all safety gear ... although it is out in the boon docks, but well worth it!!!
