You get what you pay for.  Cheap for sushi but also not that tasty.  I love a good deal, love buffets and I used to live only a few blocks from this place but rarely went.  Beats cooking your own meal but thats about it.  My old roommate and I would make stupid bets on how much we could eat to spice things up.

If I could eat sushi everyday I would, but economically it's rather difficult given that I'm a street bum and my male stripper career is not going so well.

However, for $14 a person (at $2 off 5:00-5:30 and 7-7:30), you can easily gorge yourself to being a sumo wrestler and not break the bank.  I felt like I was in heaven here with their selection of not just sushi but all other types of Asian food as well...the whole rainbow if you will.

If only this place weren't 100 miles from my house I would frequent this place very often, but as it stands I'll just have to find more excuses to go up to Sacramento--which really is no easy task..

Maybe if I want to visit some cows and horses, or Arnold.  And put them all in a fight, hmm.

This place is pretty decent--good variety of sushi and cooked foods for a comparable price (around $12 lunch, $16 dinner). My main gripes are those of any buffet place: the food doesn't always taste fresh or isn't always hot. I think I would've given them 4 stars if I had sampled their food right when it was cooked. I suggest coming here as soon as they open for lunch/dinner.

Oh, and personally, I think their ice cream was pretty gross. All of the flavors were practically half-melted.

Dear Yelpers,

The establishment has changed hands now.  No more friendly waittresses you come to love.  They quiet Japanese ways and nice gentle smile are gone.. The owner was friendly too. My sister, daughter and I enjoyed it so with them.  They knew us by sight and had a soft spot for returned customers.

The price now is $15.03 total for adults.  The price for children haven't changed. They don't care the age just the height.

The food:  Now that is  questionable.  You get similiar dishes out there.  But I miss the spices.  The food is good.  NOT excellent.    Stay away from the Miso Soup.  Doesn't look right and tasted a bit offish. What is this Hot Noodle Soup you serve yourself at the Salad Bar?  Oh please I won't go there about the salad bar.  Their idea of a spring roll is somewhat an insult to the Vietnamese that create it.

The sushi is still great.  I do mean I can just have  that and never mind the rest.  Crab legs are passable and the raw oysters are good.

The ice cream.  I miss his special ordered ice creams.  Lycee flavored, Tea flavor, that purple on..I can't think of the name..I want to call it Taro.  Those are gone.  In it's place is bubblegum flavored, banana nut and something I couldn't find a name for.

Service is you.  You serve your own drinks, glass and all.  You almost have to die to get hot tea to your table.  Oh it gets worse.  The eating utensils you must serve yourself once again.  Napkins. One per person it seems.  IF you ask for more they frown at you.  You will have to wait for them to get it for you.  Sometimes they pick up your plate and sometimes they don't. So your dinner plates can stack up like dominos.

Looking around the Dim Sum is good.  Especially the sponge cake ones.  Those are so delicious that you want to take a few home.

But in all I do believe you are over charged for the menu and the idea of service.

You would enjoy TASTE OF CHINA better if you not too highly into sushi.  IT's a heck of lot cheaper with a better quality of food.  Two people can have lunch for almost the same price at Umeko's.

There sushi is by no means great, just passable (as was said before).  For the price it is pretty good, although it seems like they always run out of anything good.  They also tend to have a limited variety of Chinese cuisine as well such as deep fried prawns (with the heads).  It is pretty much all based around seafood (so the name is not a misnomer).
If you want to get full eating sushi come here, if you want to enjoy eating sushi you should probably try somewhere else.

Todai, this isn't. But passable.

Good enough selection. Decent price ($16 for dinner + $1 for soda).

Sushi bar worth it. Probably the best feature there.

Great ice cream. Lychee, Mango, Red Bean, Green Tea, and a few other flavors. Just don't touch it yourself.

Overcooked crab and shrimp. Which makes it harder to eat.

Older facility. Not the cleanest.

Sometimes it gets lonely eating alone. Especially in a buffet. Where big families eat. Together. (cue world's smallest violin)
