like any other arcade establishment this place has the prerequisite video games and air hockey tables among other things but their niche is laser tagging. their maze is pretty big and  decent. $22 dollars will get you unlimited playing time. there maze can accommodate about 40 people, maybe more.

for those of us who haven't played in a long time you are given a quick brush up course on the inner workings of the weapons and targets as well as laser tagging etiquette.

the place is clean and well organized and run. the staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. there is a snack bar at hand and free parking in the back of the building. expect to win if you're made of tiger's blood. expect to lose if you're not.

    Laser tag is fun.

Paying $22 for an all you can play pass only to see birthday parties cut the line, get in before you, and force your party to wait 30+ minutes to play your next game is not. We were there for about 4 hours and we got 3 games in even though we lined up in front of the door and patiently waited our turn each and every time.

4 hours. 3 games. Do you know how long each game is? Ready?

10 minutes. Each game is 10 minutes.

This pissed me off beyond words because we shelled out $100+ to rent a private room AND buy their pizza for my friend who has having his birthday party there too. Yes, we were also a birthday party.

When I took it up with the manager that paying $22 for an ALL YOU CAN PLAY pass was misleading if you can't get into any games, she didn't give a f***k.

    Other things:
    - They have problems with batteries going out in their guns. Half the vests don't work or are malfunctioning some way. Laser tag is kind of pointless if, uhh, your lasers don't work.
    - Their employees are rude as hell.
    - They will not give you a refund for any reason, even if they sell you an all you-can-play pass and will not let you in the games.

Save your money and stay away from this place.

Laser Tagging is pretty cool.  I haven't gone anywhere else, so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

The area you get to play in is pretty big (Big enough, to kind of get lost in).  I still can't remember too well the layout of everything...Only where the home bases are.  There's also two sentinels that you try to look out for.  I forget what else.  There are two floors. Three colors/teams you can be in (Red, Blue, and Green).

Before you get to play, you spend a few minutes getting instructions from the staff.  Pay attention, because they tell you how to get the most amount of points to win the game!

Once you're done with instructions, you go into another room and put on one of those fancy packs.  Some of the packs were missing straps.  Some weren't working.  Some didn't register when you finished the game.  Once the game is finished, your team and individual scores are available for you to see outside.

This place was fun.  But, sometimes there were too many kids in the arena.  Then, it's a laser tagging blood bath.  It's real easy to shoot at them.

They tell you not to run before you go in, but it's sometimes hard not to.  It's a great place to go with a group of people.  Get the unlimited games pass for $22.

There's 2-3 hour parking in the structure behind Ultrazone.  Free parking.  And you will get a ticket if you park there for awhile!

When I was a kid, my parents never let me go laser tagging. They thought the lasers were super-harmful to your skin and would blind you if you took a couple shots to the eye. It was deemed "too dangerous". Well, I value my eyesight, but I can tell you the other two parts are most definitely not true. Laser tag is some of the most fun you will ever have; if you have never gone laser tagging, you absolutely must go.

Ultrazone is a pretty well run operation. There is an overpriced arcade in the front that's got quite a few quarter sucking arcade games, like air hockey, Dance Dance Revolution, and some shooting and racing games. The laser tag zone lies in the back, because the back is where it's at.

I personally really do not like this place. When I played, I found the place to be a pretty complicated maze and ended up getting lost. I frequently shot and was shot by my teammates because I would turn a corner and instincts would kick in. Also, you will trip over little kids. Not might, you WILL. And I really don't like the scoring system. You get points for hitting the other team and lose points for getting hit or hitting your teammates. Fine, I can understand that. But you get massive points for getting bases and the "Sentinel". Like 50 kills worth of points. So after you play a couple of rounds, people figure it out and just camp out under the sentinel, wait for it to light up, and shoot at it. Lame. So I'll run around, getting insane shots off from 50 feet, and I'll still end up 23rd out of 24th because everyone else got the sentinel. Weaksauce.

Still, I have to give it up for this place. If you can get a bunch of friends, you can probably get everyone to agree to just shoot each other, and I would think that's more fun. Also, if you can get in here in like the early afternoon (while all the kids are still in school), you can basically have the place to yourselves. Great for a group. Also a pretty damn good price. They have an unlimited games package for around 20-25 dollars (I don't remember the exact price but it's in that range). I mean, other places will charge you like $5 per game, so a 3 hour session could cost you maybe twice the amount you pay here.

So if you got a group of people who want to (and agree to; you have to get that in legal writing) just shoot each other with laser beams in a maze that was probably designed for a lab rat but don't want to spend a boatload of money, come to this place. Plus I think this is like the only one in the San Gabriel Valley area so you don't really have that many choices. Happy shooting! And try not to trip over little kids. Lawsuits are expensive.

Ahhh don't you love it when you try to deny the fact that you're getting older by doing something completely child-like???

Yes, that is what laser tag means to me.--the denial of my adulthood.  The reason I went to Ultrazone was because my bf & I saw this really great deal on Groupon for it.  It was unlimited play for like $10...how could one resist such a great deal??  Anyway, we came here one Saturday after a delicious lunch at Luscious Dumplings.  Needless to say, when we opened the door it was a child's paradise.  Arcade to the left of us--shooting games, racing games, and also the beloved air hockey table.  And then there were about 40 kids eagerly waiting to be let into the arena.

The staff at the desk were really helpful.  Having not played laser tag in some years we kind of forgot what the protocol is.  So they kindly explained that we had to wait approx 15 before we could enter the instruction area.  As we waited among many children & some teenagers, we found solace in the fact that there were some adults playing who didn't look like parents.  GO us!!!

The laser tag area was pretty large, two levels & a lot of great hiding spots.  It's a real riot when you try to outsmart a 10 year old and all i could do was laugh the entire time.  It was a great day...probably went 5 or more rounds before we called it quits.

All in all I'd say that Ultrazone really brings out the kid in you.  If you are an adult you might wanna bring a group of friends with you so you can all gang up on the kiddies.  I'm not sure what the regular price for each round is, but I hear it can get pretty pricey.  You might as well by the unlimited package and get your money's worth.

P.S.  There is free parking in the back.

Came here for the laser tag with some buddies a few years ago and got our butts handed to us by a bunch of kids. Too bad you can't actually see the lasers.  The maze was super small and we kept getting picked  off. It was okay at first, but losing is never fun. It's dark and noisy. You're playing Capture the Flag, so after like the third or fourth loss, we came up with a strategy to finally win a game instead of just running around shooting at things and shadows. We left promptly after our victory.

I checked out Lazer Zone with 4 kids ages 8, 10, 10 and 11. The arcade section is extremely small. All 4 kids said it was hot inside, the wait wast too long, the vests were dirty and the actual laser tag time was SHORT. Maybe because I'm getting old I had fun "/ lol.

I brought my son and a few of his friends here for his birthday. I was a bit disappointed because the pictures gave me the impression that this place is much bigger than it actually is. The arcade area is kind of a joke for kids who DIDN'T want to play laser tag. My son and his friends had a good time...but hell, they probably could've had a good time closer to home at Laser Quest in Fullerton (IMO). And it smelled like hot ass and sweaty feet in there...Yeah...I won't be back.

I've only been here a couple of times in my life. When I was younger, this was the place to be, but much of that might be due to the fact that I was limited to where and what I could do with no mode or transportation other than my 2 feet and 10 toes.

In my most recent exploration of the facility not much had changed from my yester-years. A few arcade games, a couple of rooms for parties, and of course the laser tag that the place is known for.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of laser tagging, but I have to admit that I did have fun...for about 30 minutes. After that I was getting pissed at the fact that the games were so few and far between. Come on, you have a briefing room in addition to the room in which you actually suit up in. Do you really need that much time in between games?

The only reason I could think of that would make the games go slow is because the workers were lazy and didn't want to keep the games going.

On the upside, the facility is a nice two level playing area. Fog would definitely add to the game as well.

So i went here for the first time yesterday with my good friends.

    PROS
    - Good unlimited pay price! 15 bucks on Wednesdays and Thursdays!
    - Pretty friendly staff
    - Pretty fun! (At first, I didn't like it because my armor plate wasn't functioning well and I was new to the game, so I didn't really understand the whole concept)

    CONS
    - Looking a little outdated (they need to modernize it!)
    - Each game is like under 10 minutes...
    - Not the best equipments
    - Tiny arena

    But overall, pretty fun!

Laser tag. The game which is apparently for teens and early 20-somethings, as that was the competition I faced on a Friday evening in early January (9pm-midnight = $15 all-you-can play). Oh, I'm 30 years old. There's no shame in saying that. I've gone several times here with people my age, though know that the majority of the time, unless you have a large party, that that's the age range your competition will be.

There wasn't as many people as I thought there'd be. And since I only had one other person with me in my party (shoutout to Dennis!), we managed to get 4 games in. Probably could have squeezed in 2 more (with the amount of people there, could have probably played 1 game every 30 minutes), but I had decided to get drinks at Cha for Tea about a block away (almond black milk tea w/boba for the win).

Each game is 10 minutes long, with a 5-10 minute setup and briefing period. Teams are split into three groups (RGB). You play in a indoor playing field with 2 levels (3 if you count a small mid-platform in between ramps).

There are a few arcades and air hockey tables to help pass by the time, though that's not the reason you're here.

Perhaps the only real con is that some packs are always broken. This means less total players, and sometimes your stats may be off.

    Parking was easy and free.

It's a fun time. Good for meetup groups, youth groups, parties, etc... Cheaper than paintball and airsoft. No one-hit kills. No bullet bruising, though you may feel sore the next day or two. A good workout.

And FYI, I schooled those youngsters. *haha* Top scorer twice. (^_^)

So your kid is too old for Chuck E Cheese....but not quite at that age where they would rather celebrate alone with their friends?  This a good in-between the age groups spot to do a kid party. It's generally clean and enclosed enough where kids can run around and still be within eye view.

    THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

They have all you can play passes and early bird specials that are cost effective.  But do keep in mind that when they say "all you can play" - there is a caveat.  You can keep playing as long as there are no parties going on at the same time.  Those parties are guaranteed play time and because of that the "all you can play" people take a back seat to those groups when it is their time to play.  Never-the-less the all you can play option I think is still better than buying the party package they sell that comes with just a couple of games.

If there are a lot of people playing make sure to bring cash for their lobby arcade games.  And bring a good amount.  There will be times when you will have to wait 15-30 minutes to play again and the games are not cheap.  Of course you don't have to play the arcade.  But let's face it, try keeping kids from wanting to play as they are waiting "patiently" to play lasertag again.

Ultrazone does let you bring in your own food and drinks for parties, which is awesome.  The only exception is pizza's.  They have an arrangement with Papa John's - so only Papa John's pizza's are allowed.  And the pizza's are at a set price.  Papa John's coupons are not allowed.

Laser Tag here is best for ages 8+.  Younger kids might have a harder time handling the vest and lasergun (not to mention navigating around in the dark, with fog, 2 floors and a mixture of ages who "speed walk" through the course)

The lobby area can get loud and annoying with a bunch of kids running around and all the arcade games going off at the same time.  Also, there are not too many lobby area seats available.

Let me be clear because apparently I was misled:

$8 per game. Each game is ... wait for it.... TEN minutes long.
It is $22 for unlimited games, though. But that's kind of a lot of money to play laser tag, right?

Whatever, it was a really fun 10 minutes, although apparently my laser was broken the entire time and I only got a new one right at the last second so my score was zero. I most likely would have won though, with these skills I've been blessed with.

ANYWAY --- I probably won't be back. I was about as amused by the prices as the girl explaining the rules of laser tag to our group in the most unfortunate monotonous voice ever. "The first rule of laser tag, have fun" (But there was no smile on this face of hers).

Have you ever just felt the need to bust a cap in someone's ass? I know I have, and theres no better place to do that then ultrazone.

Really, UZ (as it is affectionatley dubbed by it's patrons) is the numbah one laser tag location in the San Gabriel Valley. Two floors, three teams, an indoor rockwall, air hockey, racing games, shooting games, overall a great place to spend and evening with friends if you're feeling a little "battle royale".

Of course it pales in comparison to paintball, but it costs less and hurts alot less.

The first time we came here was soooo freakin' fun!! It was for a friend's birthday and we got there right at closing...but they still let us play and it was just the 6 of us, which made it crazy because you have even more room to run around and hide...never knowing where you'll find someone shooting at you.

Well last night...we went just cause 'Eimi thought it'd be fun to play laser tag"...and we got there at prime playing time so there were maybe 30 people in our group. That made it a little less fun because you knew every corner had someone ready to shoot...and it was hard to play the other aspects of the game like activating the mines or getting close to the other teams' bases.

It was still fun...but I'd definitely come back on an off time/day so fewer people were playing.

I went to Ultrazone when they first opened, WAY back in the day. We were young and laser tag seemed like it was an awesome way to kill some time. We had an older friend named Wayland who worked at Ultrazone.  Let me go down memory lane!

When you first go in the briefing area is divided into three colors, which represent your team colors. It's almost like you're in a college lecture hall as the seats are stacked high with the ref or the person in charge going over the rules. After going through the rules, you head into the area where you pick up your vest and laser guns (they're attached to the vest). It's a lot of fun if you know there are a lot of people that you're playing against.

The indoor area is pretty fun where you try to shoot people with lasers. There are two levels in the indoor arena, where you can take people out up top. When you get shot, your vest can't shoot for a while. You can hit the vest, shoulders and guns. There is no physical contact but sometimes you do run into someone that is coming around the corner. If your vest malfunctions, the worker is there to help you fix your vest.

The waiting area sucks. There aren't that many chairs to hang out and if you so happen to go when there's a birthday party, be prepared for a bunch of crazy kids. There is an indoor rock climbing arena in there and that's a lot of fun to prove who is more macho in your group.  The arcade games are also pretty expensive. If you're looking only to go for their video games go to a real arcade. The bathrooms smell funky too and luckily I live close enough to not have to use their bathrooms.

Wear the appropriate clothing because you will be running around. In the summer time it gets hot so you will be sweating. Try out Ultrazone. I prefer paintball but not everyone can take the pain.

Parking is crazy. If you're lucky you can find parking in the back but it's near impossible most of the time. Try parking on main street if you're lucky enough to find a space.

This is a great place to have a birthday party if you're young. A lot of young kids love this place to go shoot each other. If you're older, you'll have fun. I know I did when I was younger. If you go a lot when you're older, it's gonna get old really quick.

I've been to this ultrazone twice. Once this past weekend (April 4, 2009) and once about 9 months ago (some time in June/July). My experience was similar both times, but the most recent was more fun simply because they kept the games rolling.

Outside area: Terrible. Hardly any seating, filled with kids (duh), and loud.

The arena: Cool looking, interestingly designed. However, it's not designed for competitive people, really. There are three bases that are not symmetrically done. The red base is disproportionately easier to attack and the green disproportionately harder. Also, while I love the idea of having two levels, the upper levels just end up being people who hide and snipe from the rafters, creating an annoying atmosphere.

The equipment: some of the vests don't work or don't work as well as they should, but overall everything seemed functional.

The game: My complaint are really of my own doing. I'm a 24-year-old, and I'd love to play a competitive game. However, on a Saturday at 4pm, the majority of players are 8-year-olds (imagine that!) who cluster together and don't really do much. Yes, this makes it easy to wrack up scores, but it's annoying and doesn't increase the fun.

Furthermore, having three teams seems like a great idea in theory (certainly a move away from the same-ol-same-ol), but in practice it creates an atmosphere that isn't very team oriented. Really, there's little need to use teamwork at all. Run, get the two other bases and walkrun around shooting people. If your team does this the most, they win. But heaven help you if you're on a team with fewer players... the team with the largest cumulative score wins, so even if your team does far better, you're going to lose unless you have comparable numbers.

Staff: Apathetic at best. I understand being a teenager working with annoying kids is exhausting, but the level that our "game master" did not care was infuriating. Have a little fun with it! My girlfriend's vest wasn't working well in one game, but the game master seemed agitated that she should have to do anything about it. The game master spent the majority of the game on her iphone. MY SUGGESTION: Put your game master in a vest on a team. Their primary concern should be monitoring the game, but by getting them involved in it, they'll be more attuned to it.

Additionally, the staff made no efforts at any time to make sure that the games were even in either number or skill. I played one game where I was one of three players against 20 small children. Although one could argue we were more "skilled" it still isn't fun.

My final complaint is that they don't use the tags that other places apparently do. I'd love to track my scores beyond just writing them down). It'd create incentive to return to.

As it is, this is a mediocre place. I'm sure birthday kids have fun, and I did too... to an extent. But it doesn't inspire replay. The one thing I will say is that the last time I played I had about three times as much fun as the first. The first time, we'd play a game and they'd already have loaded the arena up for another which meant we'd have to wait 30 minutes for another game in their terrible waiting area. This past time though as soon as we finished it was time for another game. Wonderful!

During Spring Break my friends and I decided to go Laser Tagging. On Thursdays everyone can get all day passes for $12. Other days, it's $22, and single games are $8 each.

Parking is a hassle! Either go in the parking lot or try your luck with the street. Main Street is one busy place to be, so I highly suggest the parking lot in the back.

Walking in, it's pretty dark. There's a mini arcade to the side, and trust me when I say mini, I mean mini. Air Hockey and DDR are always among the favorites, so be patient.

You get a wristband to allow you in and out of games. Don't full around, they'll be cut off and you won't be allowed back in for the rest of the day. They change the bands everyday, so they're never the same. If you're playing a single game, they'll give you a piece of paper which they take before the game.

The laser tag zone itself is really dark. It has mirrors to shoot people behind you, I thought they were for fixing your hair. There's also and up and a downstairs. Walking back and forth gets tiring. If you ever need help, there's a worker walking around the assist you.

Bathrooms here are disgusting. Go at home to avoid them, I do. The toilet water was pink. Strange.

    Allys: IT'S PINK!
    Jennie: It suits you.
    Judy: That's weird, mine isn't!

Normal admission is $8 for 10 minutes of laser tagging. Trust me, 10 minutes is plenty of time for laser tagging. There's nothing more fun than going with your friend (both of us are 21) watching each other backs and attempting to shoot down 12 year olds and their 40 year old dads. I know this place has special deals all the time so check out their website. They have one course and it's a pretty fun course with 2 floors connected with ramps, mirrors, random holes in the wall, and plenty of cover. The place also has a mini arcade so you can play the games until your match starts. Make sure you don't exchange all your money for tokens ( my friend almost put in a 20) because the tokens only work at the tiny arcade there. Great place for laser tagging.

It was great fun for a large group of people and to pass time. I used to come to this place when our friend used to work here. Laser tag here is pretty standard and I would do it again if with the right group of people but I wouldn't love it or crave for it.

has a 2 story indoor playing field with very elaborate hiding places and maze setup. can play in teams of 3 (or 4, forgot) in capture the flag. one thing i didnt like tho, was that our team was not able to find the "flag" for the opposing team, cuz it was too dark in the opposing team's base.

went there once with my small group (post college age), and got our butts kicked by a bunch of 10 year old boys.

friday nights from 9pm to midnight you get to play unlimited games for $12. but youre surrounded by children. so you can get drunk prior to arriving and have a blast pushing little boys around or you can arrive in a group of 30 and have the advantage of playing with all your friends.

i of course got drunk first. so i was running around laughing like a 5 year old probably shooting people on my own team. i dont remember them telling us to pay attention to the color of your vest (because its flashing all these different colors anyway); and for someone whos never played laser tag i didnt figure that out til the second round.

some of the equipment is faulty. "MINES NOT WORKING!!" was a common phase of the night. the arena is poorly designed... you cant navigate without bumping into someone else every two seconds, and the second floor is useless unless you love sniping the other teams on the floor below.

we finally figured out that the same person cant take another teams base more than once. so the only way to rack up points would be to storm a base with half your team. you win, but its not as fun as running around like an idiot.

this location needs to be revamped, including some of the nightly specials. i would LOVE an all-adults night and im sure all the adults would love it as well.

It is was the first time I ever played lasertag but by how much fun I had, I dint even want to go to another laser tag place just to check if it was better because I knew it was the best there is yet!

I hadn't played lazer tag since I was in high school. Totally fun! I'm just bummed because so much of the equipment was busted. I kept getting a gun that sucked. Or maybe that's just an excuse for how poorly I did. Whatever, it was fun.

My friends and I had went a couple of months ago to celebrate my birthday. I guess I was expecting a little bit more outta this place from reading the reviews and looking at their website. There are three teams .. which makes it kind of hard trying to keep track who is who and way too confusing. And you have assigned numbers on your laser vest that are sharpied on it .. ghetto. After the game you look at an old monitor in the lobby for your score. Some of the vests would vibrate and some wouldn't.

I played laser tag here once.  Pretty standard.  I would do it again if someone wanted to go.

This is one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. The so-called manager is very disrespectful and dishonest to customers and she obviously does not care about customers returning. The laser tag is the worst (and most expensive) I have ever seen and you would be better off buying your own equipment and playing in your house. I received malfunctioning equipment and when I went to complain to the manager, I was rudely called a liar and refused a refund. Do yourself a favor and save your money for someplace else. Ultrazone does NOT value your business!
