I agree with reviewer Eric - we need a west coast location!
I was in Philly for a year or more for work and now I'm in AZ. I haven't had a decent red color or great blow dry since I left!
This place is the best! They worked with me very patiently until we got just the right color. Unfortunately, other salons didn't use their formula, so I'm starting from scratch.
Relaxing atmosphere, great personalities and just wonderful service and excellent quality compared with other, more expensive salons.
Ultra is a kitch and friendly atmosphere. I immediately was greeted by fun chickadees. Everyone was so nice and Sharon the owner, told me each step of the process. Its nice to be educated, especially when you're going from brunette to blonde. She used this amazing stuff to condition and make my hair silky smooth by Redkin called Chemistry. It worked miracles. My hair looked fab and I now am a fan!
One of my favorite places in Philly. I say "places" rather than hair salons, because I leave Ultra feeling better not just about my hair but about life in general. The atmosphere is kitschy-cool and impeccably clean, they play music good enough for the stylists to sing to, they serve coffee in mugs with images that change as they cool, and Sharon and Kristen have incredibly positive outlooks on life. Of course, they also do great hair. I've gone to Kristen three times and she gives my straight hair the perfect amount of layering and angles (enough to give it body and style without it looking too funky - which is exactly what I ask for).
