I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have found Olivia who did both my hair and make-up for a wedding in Woodside. I am not a regular client since I live on the East Coast but she made me walk out of the salon feeling like Cinderella. She did a fabulous but very natural-looking updo along with make-up that gave me so much self-confidence. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services. Everyone at the salon was so kind, from the front desk onward.

It is not easy to find a good hair master. Myself and my husband started coming here for cuts when the #pandemic started opening up, and we love the professional, thoughtful, and charismatic treatment by owner Jeff that it's worth the ~100 mile drive. I had a mismatched partial highlight to transition from greying and he fixed it with a full color in my original tone, as well as layered the cut. Husband has a full head of hair that he blends expertly from top to bottom. Highly recommend.

This review is for Caroline.
I was trying to book a haircut appointment for my mother on the same day and Caroline was very accommodating. As soon as we walked in, Caroline was very welcoming. She walked us through all the steps of the cut and made sure my mom was happy. Caroline is such an expert in her field that she treats every haircuts as uniquely to the individual receiving it. And it showed!! My mom's haircut is really perfect for her. (Her best one!)
She made my mother feel so special and happy and for that I am beyond grateful!

I took my tween to get her bangs died (her bday gift ). We booked an appointment with Catalina and she did such a great job. Even though she was dealing with a personal emergency at the time of our appointment she still listened to what I wanted and did not want for my daughter. She did such an excellent job that my daughter is constantly getting positive commented about how great her hair looks.
I also went back to Catalina three weeks after so that my daughter could get her bangs cut, even though I don't trust anyone with my daughters very long hair. We are so happy we did go to her. My daughter is so happy with her hair and Catalina was so sweet to take the time to show my daughter how to style her hair so it will look the way she wants it. Now my daughter gets even more compliments on her hair. We will definitely be returning to her.

I had a color session scheduled with Catalina and had a picture for reference. Super simple... blonde all over just don't do my roots. Now she was sweet don't get me wrong but she did not listen to my request at all. She ended up giving me highlights which I DID NOT WANT! And proceeded to do what she wanted. She gave me highlights that were not even and didn't even make sense. I had a few on my left side and about 10 on my right side so it was completely uneven.... And none in the back!!! She told me I'd look crazy and stupid with the back of my hair colored....which makes no sense! And then toned the highlights a very orangish blonde which again I did not want! She just kept telling me to trust her and it's gonna be beautiful. It indeed was NOT! And on top of all this she cut my hair HORRIBLY and CROOKED! I went in with hair to my mid back and left with it a little past my shoulders!! this was my first time doing my hair after my whole pregnancy and I was so excited about it but she completely ruined my hair. Then at the end of all of it she just kept convincing me it looked good and proceeded to tell me throughout the appointment her arm hurt so she was going to do my hair her way then in two weeks I can come back and she'll make it look like the picture.... what!!!? Then at the end she told me she won't charge me for my haircut since she didn't take the time to cut it and that she just chopped it. !!!!!!
I definitely am not going back and actually went to the Ulta salon in Colma and a lady fixed my hair... and made it even better than the picture I wanted. Sadly the lady had to cut more of my hair to make it even and to fix the cut Catalina gave me but at least she was able to salvage and fix my hair. I really thought going to a salon in burlingame I'd get the best service but I guess not!!!

Called UK Hair to get a haircut on a whim. They were able to see me the same day and I got a beautiful haircut from Irina!

Went from shoulder length boring hair, to a sassy shag!

I had a haircut with Catalina. She's a lovely person and I wish her the best, but she gave me the worst haircut of my life. I knew what I wanted going in, but she convinced me to trust her, and get something more modern. I'm not sure how you can call what she gave me more modern - I think it's basically a Beatles cut, + a mullet . It's beyond ugly - I'm seriously considering just hiding in my apartment till it grows out a bit, and I can hide it in a ponytail. From cut to color, its all bad - and I can't even tell if this is what she was aiming for or if she just doesn't know how to give haircuts.
Again, nothing personal, I'm sure she did her best. I just wish her best was better.

Laura at uk salon is wonderful. I really didn't have an idea in my head as to how I would like my hair to turn out. Laura listen and knew what to do. She went to work and made this 66year old lady feel so happy!! Thank you

Jeff, owner of UK Hair is simply fantastic! I started going to UK Hair a few years ago (the name drew me in because I too am British). I haven't been anywhere since. He really takes his time to listen, understand and recommend. Sometimes I'll just let him take the lead by giving his expert opinion and I know he'll do right by me. Sadly I'm moving to NY so I won't be frequenting his salon anymore, although I would definitely go back if I visited the Bay Area again and was in need of a color or cut. Do try. You can't go wrong!
