It has been at least a good six months since I last had a taste of Udipi and we returned today for a lunch buffet.Pretty fortunate that it wasn't as packed when we arrrived but as soon as we started the crowd began streaming in endlessly. But despite how busy it is,our table were being minded by the attentive waiter-glasses were filled and pitcherr was topped up,used plates removed promptly and I am very impressed with the service today especially when there are only two waiters spotted on duty.

I don't know if it is me or if anyone else likes the spicy fried rice they serve at their buffets, that stuff,no doubt potent ,is extremely addicting.I went back for more unable to refrain myself despite the low carb diet I currently observe.Putting on a few more pounds today is just so worth it,at least if theculprit is Udipi's spicy fried rice!

I am decreasing a star for this place...
Went here a second time before I left Lauderdale. however, this time I took some friends along. The food was great as usual. So, those reviews of mine are still accurate.
But, we had to wait a really long time to get one extra dosa (rice crepe), some water to drink and masala tea. The waitstaff simply seemed to forget that we asked anything.

I have to get my fix at least once a month, on the weekends of course. It is worth going to the buffet because aside from their amazing selection, each person is entitled to a dosa (which you can take home). There's very few places that I can say this about, but this place surely gets better every time!
I'm an omnivore but you really won't miss meat!

I had to give this place 5 stars because for Indian food, it is as good as it gets!  I ate hear a few years ago and it was good, but nothing that left me craving it.  Now, I think about it often and go when I get a chance.  The food is now unforgetable.  I don't know if they changed hands or just perfected what they were doing before, but what ever it is, it ROCKS.  Being Vegan, it is so difficult to find trustworthy places to dine out.  My boyfrined and a good friend of mine are meat eaters and they love this place too.  The plaza is crappy and parking is tight, but don't let that deter you from the tasteful delights you will find inside.  The servers are all very attentive and the flavors explode in your mouth.  The portions are huge, so if I go for dinner and I am assured lunch the next day as well.  I am a picky eater, but trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!

I'm kind of obsessed with this place.  I have gone through phases of driving 45 minutes every single weekend for at least two months straight to gorge myself on their fantastic Indian buffet (all you can eat!). I dream of this place being closer to me and open 24 hours.  Ahhhhh.... heaven!  The food is outstanding.  The staff is nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

Udipi is run by a family from Karnataka, and the food is deliciously South Indian and 100% vegetarian, but don't let that dissuade you meat eaters. It is also very savory and delicious. Lunch Buffet for $7 with a lot of stuff that you won't find at your run-of-the-mill Indian joint including iddly, dosai, pani puri (!),  and some of the best coconut chutney I've had in South Florida.

It's a long drive from Miami, but it is worth it if you are in the area for some reason, for example, to visit the Shiva Vishnu  temple (who get their event catering here) or alligator alley or your grandma in the old-folks home in Plantation.

Udipi provided me with my first taste of South Indian food. And now I'm hooked! It was recommended to me by a co-worker who is on his way to becoming an acclaimed vegan chef!  He specializes in Indian flavors, so I already new that I would love it. I have only been for the lunch buffet, which is only about $7 per person and is completely vegetarian! The menu, however, is varied and has some wonderful and unique items to choose from. Although I am not familiar enough wtih the names of menu items to list them exclusively, I can say that everything I tried was distinctly flavorful and I always leave feeling stuffed and satisfied! The only downfall is that it is tucked away in a shopping plaza and is difficult to spot from University Drive.
