Condescending staff. I do not recommend this place at all. Going through a traumatic issue and it seemed that all they could do was talk down to us and tell us we should have gone to the other emergency room.

This Facility is an absolute joke. I have worked in the medical field for over 17 years. So I know the endless hours of work, that is required of us, I'm aware that we sometimes have to take our work home with us, leaving hardly any personal time/ and or quality time for our family nor ourselves, however it's the career choice that we have chosen.
My daughter was seen in the ER on 08-02-2021 by Dr. Brendon Stephen Browning.
My daughter is 5 weeks pregnant with her first child, and was experiencing Vaginal bleeding. This doctor did not order an ultrasound, did not run labs, made no attempts to do anything for her medically.
He actually said in his discharge instructions and I quote " unfortunately she is only five weeks along, so an ultrasound will most likely not reveal anything"
What about the slim chance that it does reveal something, so you run the ultrasound anyway.
Your area of expertise is medicine and not vaginal or abdominal ultrasound imaging, Dr. Browning.
You also mentioned that because there was no pain and tenderness to palpation upon your exam, that it is thought to be unlikely a ectopic pregnancy, but an ultrasound would have given you that information, so that it could have been concluded and not an unlikely thought.
You showed my daughter no empathy, your bedside manor was unprofessional and so was your medical practice.
She has been living in Colorado Springs for 1 month and her first impression of medical care practice is that you all are not at all sympathetic, or empathetic.
You should work on that Doctor.
All due respect,
A concerned Parent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been here before and it was great. This time it was dirty. Blood drops on the floor, dirty shoe prints and urine on the bathroom floor. A little slow for an ER that had no patients in front of us.

I have chronic migraines that no amount of medicine or change in diet manage to help. I sometimes get dehydrated and sick enough that I decide to drag my sick self in for some fluids and pain meds. I arrived there, and the receptionist was amazing. That was the end of the competence on the staff's part. The tech who brought me back was completely clueless about questions I had regarding the urine sample they requested. This was to be an indication of further incompetence from staff. The extremely elderly male doctor kept interrupting me and basically refused to give me an IV. I offhandedly mentioned that the active vomiting from my migraine had finally stopped and I was able to get a little bit of fluids to stay down. Not enough to rehydrate me, mind you, it just didn't immediately rocket back out of my stomach each time I tried to drink something. That was enough, like I said, to have this man REFUSE to give me an IV and insist on IM medications. This is intra-muscular, they basically stick the needles in your butt cheek. Not what I came to the hospital for. In addition, the nurse who was attending with the physician was angry and rude. He had to ask me things several times because he was so upset and just waiting to talk AT me , instead of having an actual conversation. My migraines are incredibly painful, and I use cannabis to ease the pain and help with appetite and just basic pain management. Traditional medical doctors won't give any kind of emergency pain management for situations like mine, but will vilify me not being willing to be in excruciating pain every second of every day. So, the nurse was CONVINCED it was cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, but them had to admit it's not even a real diagnosis. CHS, for those of you not in the loop, is medical science's new way to try and demonize folks who refuse to rely on their toxic pharmaceuticals....
To top it all off, I was literally THE ONLY PATIENT IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM!! This wasn't a case of them being overwhelmed and being unable to provide appropriate care. No, not at all. This was a case of absolute and complete incompetence. There was zero reason for me to have been treated this way. I, at the behest of a new PCP, and against my better judgement, had tried a new medication for my migraines. All it did was make me incredibly ill (bruising and numbness in my hands). Both of those complaints were completely brushed aside at the ER, as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My husband had been having tightness in his chest and shortness of breath for over a week, and it had gotten worse in the days leading up to his visit. One late night, it reached a point where his rescue inhaler and other treatments weren't really helping, and with all of this coronavirus stuff going on it was making us nervous. I asked a friend of mine who is an NP, and she said that he should get looked at and tested, and probably get some steroids for his breathing. So at 11pm he decided to go to the closest ER, which happened to be this location.
Upon arriving a nurse took his vitals, then proceeded to make him feel horrible for coming in. Why did he think this was an emergency? If he thought he had coronavirus why would he go into an ER and make everyone sick? Things like that, over and over. No compassion for someone who was having trouble breathing in the midst of a pandemic whose main symptoms include labored breathing! They sent him home with nothing but a distrust of doctors.
I am not looking forward to getting a bill for this one... This experience, on top of a separate incident where they sent our bills to the wrong address and then tried to send us to collections, has convinced me to never let any of my family members or friends set foot in this building ever again. So much for compassionate care.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I'm being generous with this. I originally thought the care was excellent but then I got the ridiculous bill and the doctor that never even once examined me charged hundreds of dollars just for walking in to discharge me. BS!
I was diagnosed incorrectly and after weeks of waiting for a follow up with a specialist, was told I didn't need surgery. So disappointed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Shame on you UCHEALTH EMERGENCY ROOM.
We were charged over $2000 for a visit where no care ended up being required. They conducted a pregnancy test on my wife (didn't ask but told us we consented to whatever tests they desired when we completed forms upon entry) when we knew she wasn't pregnant, weren't concerned with pregnancy, and due to being fixed knew
It was VERY unlikely ($359 charge) and the rest was due to what room they put us in?! We are charged $1655 for the ROOM?! I'm all for paying what is due especially in an emergency situation however unscrupulous charged like this are just criminal.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rob T.Monument, CO32453Apr 10, 2018
Unreasonably priced, limited ability to treat patients. During the last flu scare my wife was showing flu like symptoms. As people were dying from the flu I did just that. Got right in, only ones there, and went immediately to a room with one of the staff. She asked about her symptoms and I related the standard flu like symptoms with no fever. A dr came in, without a mask, actually no one was wearing a mask. Dr asked same questions and excused himself to get a mask. Now they all had a mask He said to go home and drink fluids and get some rest. I asked if there was anything else they could do so she would not die from the flu... he said I could give you tamaflu, but that doesn't work. He then offered to write a script for it, again with the it doesn't work endorsement, gave us the script and we went to the front desk.
Okay sit down for the cost. $100 deductible, $200 for lab, $1800 for building use, additional charges for diagnosis and writing the script that we did not use... remember it doesn't work. $500more
Well you get the idea. Now the bills are beginning to come in, insurance isn't covering them as they're unreasonable, I can't blame them. Called UCHealth, shared our story, and they submitted it for review. The reduced the bill one level...from level 2 doing nothing to level 1 having the receptionist diagnose the symptoms. I might have the levels wrong, but the service provided is correct. The "board" took a token amount off the bill.
At least the parking was free! I think...Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina C.Monument, CO90182Feb 3, 2020
$2,000 for a dr to give my 15 year old son a strep test. He presented with 103.5 fevers that couldn't be lowered with ibuprofen, and a terrible cough. Cough ongoing for a couple weeks - fever nearly a week
Tested negative and sent him home Sat Eve. Took him to his primary Dr on Monday, and his Dr said he couldn't understand why they did a strep test. That the kind of cough my son had was clearly respiratory. That his throat looked fine. Treated him for severe respiratory infection.
Cash pay would've been $946, which is still ridiculous for level of care received. Since already ran through insurance, stuck with high $1900+ bill. For Zero care.
Find another ER!
Edit: I really wish I would've read these reviews, as this seems to be a recurring issue. However, when you're freaking out, you just want to get your child to a Dr, and expect them to give actual care
Response to "owners": I DID call customer service and complained about above, and they didn't care. Just offered a payment plan. That changes nothing of my experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information
