So Saturday morning the kids were roughhousing and our oldest rams the youngest's kiddie shopping cart into one of our floor-level living room windows. SMASH. Glass everywhere. Hysterical crying, etc. No one was hurt, but now our "family outing to Traintown" plan was completely derailed. (Tee, hee.)
My husband wanted to do the work himself, but our house is over 80 years old and has been 'updated' by the various previous owners in weird, non-code ways. Thus, any work that we've had to do always takes way longer than it should. (We've learned this the hard way from doing a bath remodel, and some work in the kitchen.)
Anyway, I convinced him to call a professional. He looked on Yelp and found UC Glass with all its 5 stars reviews, and gave Mike a call.
Well, UC Glass did not disappoint. Mike at our house super quick (on a Saturday! we told him the window was floor-level and that we had 3 little kids - he said, 'say no more' and came out within the hour). He managed to measure the window frame, cut the glass, come back, and install it within the space of about 2 hours, possibly less. He also installed a better, safer, glass (up to code, which of course our old window was not - surprise, surprise).
All this, and he was super nice and cool. Also, the bill was extremely reasonable! We couldn't be happier, and recommend UC Glass highly. -

Totally great. I recommend Mike. We had a broken window pane in a door one evening, so we left him a message that night. He got back to us quickly the next morning, and placed the order to get our replacement glass ASAP. I would have him come on out for my next job again.

Highest recommendation! I called him up, told him my issue, and he gave me an estimate over the phone. Turns out when he came over that my glass issue was more complicated. He told me that I had no way of knowing this and even though it was more expensive for him, he would honor what he told me on the phone. Great businessman and we are so happy with his work.

I lucked onto Mike at UC glass in the pre-yelp days with pretty much a random yellow pages call. I was really impressed, so when a neighbor needed an emergency front window repair a little while later I recommended UC glass. Again, Mike was great.
Today, Mike just finished repairing my front door glass. He was knowledgeable about safety and EPA regulations. He was meticulous with his installation and the window looks great. The price was comparable to what I'd been quoted by other companies.
UC glass is an easy thumbs up! -

I echo the sentiment: UC Glass (Michael Capperauld) is great. He repaired a broken pane in our window quickly, affordably, and well, even digging out the dry-rot in a 100-year-old frame and resizing the glass to give it a longer lifespan before we have to replace the whole shebang.

We called in advance to have a glass top for our dining room table custom made. Mike advised the best way to measure what we had, and after following his advice, we brought in the measurements and the traced corners of the table at 9:15. We were expecting not to have it for a week, but Mike said he could have it for us by noon. We couldn't pick it up then, and instead came back the next morning. He wanted to make sure the glass would fit in our car - if it hadn't he'd have delivered. When we got the glass on top of the table, it was a perfect match, and looks fantastic. Exactly what we were looking for, at a very reasonable price, with great customer service. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Mike at UC Glass is about as nice, reasonable, and timely as you would hope. I've used his services three times.
The first time, some rowdy no-gooders smashed my front bay window. He came by and fixed it and another window. He was on time, pleasant, and efficient.
The second time, I had him fix some windows that had been broken by a former tenent. Again, he was pleasant and even said I didn't need to fix some of the windows that had breaks that had "run their course." He could easily have fixed them (and charged me for them) anyway and i would have been none-the-wiser.
The third time, which was recently, I called him at 11:00 am on a Saturday, wanting to get a glass top for a table I had just purchased. He could tell in my voice that I wanted the glass top asap, so by 12:15 that same day, he had it ready for me. I stopped by his shop, and he was pleasant and ... did I mention, he is also very reasonably priced! Great guy, great service. -

I chose this business strictly based on the yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed! We had a broken window in our bedroom facing west, with rain in the forecast. I called Mike in the evening, and he returned the call at 8:15 the following morning. He was at my house within an hour! I couldn't believe it! He was meticulous about taping off the area and keeping everything clean. He fixed the window and it looked better than ever. He also removed a giant sheet of glass that had been left outside our house when we moved in, and we could never get rid of it. He stuck with the estimate he had given me over the phone, even though the job took a little longer than expected -- it was a 2nd story window with a narrow path below for the ladder--very tricky. He also looked at 3 other cracked windows in our house and called the next day with an estimate on those. As soon as I get a job, we'll call him to have those fixed as well!
All in all, one of the most positive experiences I have ever had with a service provider. And I forgot to mention that he is a really nice, pleasant guy! -

So glad we found UC Glass (props to other Yelpers!). We broke one pane in a 6 panel window after locking ourselves out and wanted to get everything fixed up without calling our landlord to either be charged a fortune and/or made to feel like crappy tentants. Mike called back promptly, and we scheduled an appointment for only a few days later. He quoted the exact price over the phone and then was on-time, pleasant, AND cleaned up after himself! Yeah, we-heart-UC Glass.

Just wanted to echo what others have said. I have used UC Glass several times now (why do windows continue to get broken at my house? I don't know) and they have always provided high quality work at a low price.
This most recent time the guy saw that another small pane was also cracked (which we had not seen) so he replaced that one as part of the original estimate. Unbelievable.
Most importantly to me, they have always been extremely friendly, professional, and willing to accommodate my schedule (i.e., extending their work hours so my smashed window could be replaced the same day).
Now how can I add a 6th star for them? (Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right A B Select Start) -

Mike came and took care of everything we needed in a timely and efficient manner. He gave us an estimate and said he would work as fast as possible to make it cheaper--which he did. He also communicated clearly along the way so we could make easy decisions.

Another happy customer.. We had some crazy old custom door in our house and I accidentally broke one of the panes. He came out and I was surprised how perfect the replacement was. Price was totally reasonable. Had a nice conversation with him as he worked too..

After a recent earthquake, we had 6 window panes crack. We called Mike the next morning. He was inundated with calls, but immediately came out and fixed the windows. He also let us know that for safety reasons we should also add tempered glass to a few more. His work was very precise -- you can't even tell which are the old panes and which are the new. I thought his rates were very reasonable. Next earthquake, he's our guy!
