I like this theater because it's really easy to get your monies worth (wink).

The theaters are usually clean and large with comfy seats. Still as over priced as all the rest of the theaters in new york.. but worth the trip out there, I believe.

As a whole, United Artists is a good pick when it comes to cinemas. This one is no different. Being one of the very few good multiplex theaters in South Brooklyn, it sees a lot of patronage. The only other options really are the Kings Plaza Theater or the Kent, and both of those tend to elicit an involuntary gag reflex from local Brooklynites.

But yeah. I love this place. It's huge, it's clean, and it's full of community goodness. There are about 15 theaters all together in the building if I'm not mistaken, two situated on the second floor. In the main lobby, there's a decent selection of arcade machines and videogames, but experience will teach you that most of those things are rigged to keep you continually feeding money for "continues". The arcade is just a sideshow though, for bored teens and kids.

Despite being seemingly in the middle of nowhere by the docks, the place gets SUPER BUSY on opening nights and weekends (it's a big trip stop for camps and schools, as well as families and large groups). So if you're looking to see a new showing, you're better off getting advance tickets on Fandango or something and arriving at the theater early to be first on line. That's a good rule in general for theaters, but particularly this one, as tickets sell out rather fast.

Surprisingly, long lines at the ticket booths move pretty quickly; they usually have at least 3-4 people working there at one time, and you often find you're next up before you can even complain about the length of the lines in the first place. The automated ticket machines are pretty good too, and usually all are working properly (though I've been there on nights when all but one were being bitchy).

SIDE NOTE:
If you're a regular theater-goer, I would HIGHLY recommend getting one of those Regal Cinema Member cards. You just fill out a form like you would for a member card at Fridays or something, and then you just have them scan it every time you make a purchase - both for tickets AND food at the counters. Based on how many points you build up per purchase, you can win things like free soda, free popcorn, and other cool stuff. Points add up pretty quickly too. It costs you nothing to have one, so go for it.

The theater is located right off of the Belt Parkway Knapp Street entrance for drivers, and right at the end of the B44 Limited line for bus riders. The B4 also has a stop nearby (I believe it's the same stop as the B44), across from the old folk's home on Knapp. Keep in mind - the address says Shore Parkway, but the entrance itself is on Harkness Avenue, across from TGI Fridays and Red Lobster.
