13 reviews for U-Printing
One of U-Printing's Favorite Reviews What's This?
Really impressed by this place. The prices are the lowest around and the quality is quite good. Only noticed two minor differences between U-Printing's .12 cent business card and my uber-expensive .98 cent business card:
1. Our original cards are printed in a dark gray font but U-Printing printed it in black. Second order was printed correctly with the dark gray font but I think its because the color was indicated on the file I uploaded. Our logo was in the correct color for both orders.
2. The color of the U-Printing paper-stock had a very (very) subtle grayish hue that's only noticeable in if you look at the cards side by side. My insanely expensive original cards were printed on stark white card-stock which is why it's probably more expensive!
U-Printing's website is relatively easy to navigate but they need to update their preview page because I couldn't preview my upload in landscape (however, they will email you a free proof).
Overall, they offer a great service but be proactive and ask questions to get exactly what you want.

Uprinting is basically my crack dealer.
You don't want crack... but you gotta have it. So you get it from whatever shady character is selling it, and you subsequently put up with whatever bs and craziness that entails. Uprinting has the cheapest labels around, and I go through a lot of labels. They also offer local pick-up, meaning I don't have to waste precious $$ on shipping, I just have to treck a few miles down Santa Monica Blvd.
Sadly, their customer service blows. Their idea of business days starts with the day *after* your order finishes getting processed, and 4 or 6 always seem to take about two weeks. When you walk in, you're really, really lucky if the receptionist on the phone glances at you before you've been standing there staring at her for at least five minutes, wondering if you picked up a cloak of invisibility on the way in, and you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think your goods are actually going to ready just because they're supposed to be. I've known others who stopped giving them business b/c of similar issues, but sadly, I can't afford to do that.
If there was anywhere else remotely close in price, I'd never come back here, given the dozens of problems I've had with them over the months. But there isn't, so, begrudgingly, I return, dreading the trip and wondering what difficulties await each time, but grateful that the labels on my bags of products look as good as they do for a reasonable price.
Disclaimer: To be clear, I have never smoked crack. If there was one thing Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaign impressed upon me, it was that crack kills. Good job, Nancy. Uprinting could learn a thing or two from you.... or something.

So I'm changing my rating and here's why... Although our initial experience left a terrible taste in my mouth I am re-rating Uprinting for the following reasons: When we spoke to their customer sales rep we asked that the manager call us back so we could discuss the issues we had with their service, but how many times does that actually happen? Well the manager did call us back... listened to our complaints and asked us detailed questions so he could send our notes to their web design and usability people. I won't go into details but he worked with us on the shipping costs and then went out of his way to help us with any other promo materials we might need in the future. He also gave us his phone number n case we had other problems. The cards we got need some adjustments (on both our end and theirs) and I feel like this would be one of the few companies who really listen to customer feedback, both negative and positive.
I have to admit that Uprinting really does care about customer satisfaction, and in this case I'm pleasantly surprised how far this business will go to rectify their mistakes.

I am just getting my feet firmly planted in Los Angeles so my money is very tight but I was in desperate need of business cards. After doing a lot of online research I was all set to go with Vista printing but I thought I would check to see if anyone on yelp reviewed printers and found http://uprinting.com, and what an awesome find it was! I used one of their templates to design my cards, though you can design your own. I ordered late Saturday night and my cards were ready for pick up that Thursday. 500 business cards for $23 (including tax), 4 color glossy design, and I could pick them up locally (no shipping and handling)! No hidden fees, no bs, I loved it.
I cannot believe the hassle this company has put me through. It's a shame too because after I found them on the internet I was excited to find they were just a few blocks away from me. I won't be returning though, not a chance.
First the good:
Simple to use online system (or so it seems)
Pretty good prices
Lots of printing options
Now the bad:
Terrible, terrible customer service
The most aggravating hold message I've ever encountered (.5 sec of music, then "Your call is important to us", .5 sec music...repeat)
Borderline scam "free proof" option
Do not return calls
Now my experience:
I set up my order online, then chose their free proof option which supposedly allows you to receive your proof then decide whether to order or not. As I was finishing the required me to enter my credit card info... that's weird but ok, must be so I can quickly approve the proof, so fine I enter the info. The proof got to me in about 3 hours... great. The colors are really faded, so I call in and ask what the deal is. Apparently I submitted in RGB format and it should have been CMYK which resulted in the color issue. So I decide to cancel my order while I figure out how to switch to CMYK on my end.
At this point I realize my credit card has been charged the full amount. I call back, and customer service says they can cancel but it will cost $15... but what about the free proof? Apparently since I entered credit info (no other option), I was a paid order and they refuse to give the proof to me for free. After arguing for awhile, the lady says a manager will call me the next day about giving a full refund.
Next day... no call. So I call them, now they've refunded all but $4, but refuse to give me the full refund (apparently a 5% charge for the proof). I again explain that I ordered with the free proof option, the lady checks with her supervisor twice, and refuses to give me a full refund.
So at this point they can have my $4, and in return they get this wonderful review from me. A little customer service would have gone a long way. Maybe they're having technical issues with their site, I don't know, but all they would have had to do was give me the deal they are advertising on their site and there would have been no issue. Is it really that hard?

Just picked up my first order of business cards with UPrinting. It's great that they have the in-store pick-up option since I live in the area. The business cards came out exactly the way I expected them. The color was right on and the overall quality is good for the money. I will be ordering rack cards from them next.

As an anal god-like Creative Director/Art Director-legend-in-my-own-mind type of person that I am, businesses that I vend with must meet a high standard. After all, I gots to look good in print. (Frankly an artist or designer isn't work two grains of salt if they don't look good in print!) Plus my clients have come to expect the best in product and service.
All too often, some douchenozzle decides to open up a web business specializing in some sort of printing business only to provide slow turnarounds, and stupid customer service. Or worse, they only do one type of printed product right, can't manage to work with other print professionals or have stupid policies in place that make no sense, are irrelevant for someone like moi.
Well, none of that lousy stuff happens at http://Uprinting.com. In fact, their service is so good that they anticipate your next question or concern, it's like they have the Magic 8 Ball of printing sitting right by the phones.
They offer production turn around options and for me this is good. Often my clients want the project yesterday or they order something last minute. Uprinting allows you to determine the speed of product turnaround.
And they aren't looking to profit off shipping charges which is very nice.
Their products always look good. (That may have something to do with the fact that I know how to properly create in print...) Proofing system works. The website is easy to navigate and they are always, always willing to answer any questions or walk you through any process that might be troubling you, whether web or otherwise.
Plus their pricing is what it should be.
Like I said, as a design professional with a strong print background, I know a good thing. http://Uprinting.com is a good thing.

I was a little skeptical after seeing all the 5 star reviews from people with, well, not a lot of reviews. I did an internet search and found a couple web pages, one very detailed, that slammed uprinting on how they constantly screwed up orders.
But, I needed business cards. I would have gone elsewhere, but I saw Uprinting was located mere blocks from my office. So, I knew I had a counter on which I could pound my fist if something went wrong. However, what really sealed the deal was the fact that they were a full ONE-THIRD of the price of other places for business cards. I got 1000 full color cards on 14pt UV high gloss stock for under $30. Other places wanted $90 or more.
I placed the order, got the cards as promised. I almost expected something to be wrong with them. But alas, they were perfect! I saved a bundle.
My only complaints, while I paid on line in full I had to pay the tax part in the store when I picked up the cards. I found this out when I picked up the cards. Also, their phone system sucks. It sounds like I am talking to someone half a world away. English does not seem to be the primary language of many people who answered the phone, so it made communication even more difficult.
But hey, I saved a nice chunk of change here, so I am happy!

I just got by new business cards from UPrinting, and I could not be happier. They came out just how I wanted, and the online proof process helped ensure that. I choose UPrinting for my printing needs, since after comparing their pricing with Zazzle, and my local UPS and Kinko's, they were by far the cheapest.
Next time I need new business cards, I'll be sure to go to UPrinting.

One of the managers contacted me regarding my negative review and apologized for my inconveniences. Not only was he helpful and considerate, he also gave me a discount code for my next purchase! I feel extremely honored to have had the boss contact me and be conconcered about my experiences. He also gave me his personal email so I can report any other malfunctionnings. I am going to place my next order real soon and we'll see how that goes!

I just received a 11x14 stretched canvas that I had ordered from UPrinting. The quality is awesome and the image is crisp. Their pricing on prints are also and this is coming from an amateur photographer that has used various sites to print photos. Customer service can't be beat as their response is quick and honest. I love how they show you the proofs before you submit your final order, so you know what you're getting. Customer Service is 5 stars, Price is 5 stars, and the Quality is 5 stars.

Great people! Every time I have something shipped to my office, I'm impressed by how carefully they pack every print. I'm not sure what some of these people are talking about as far as customer service, because I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with the people at Uprinting.

so if you lack your own sense of style and creativity then go to a yuppy place like sugar paper. but if you're capable of creating your own logo, cards, etc go to http://uprinting.com. they'll set your images for you and make sure everything prints out correctly. great prices, really fast service, great selection of card stock, customizable EVERYTHING (my business cards are 2x2). best of all, this place is just professional and not yuppified. i love it, totally going back.
