So I placed this place two weeks ago and have been dying to try it out. It has a really nice ambiance and even has a downstairs that I'm sure gets really rowdy at night. On a Tuesday night, the place was practically empty. Which was perfect because I was extremely hungry. The menu had really interesting items and we wanted to give the new things a shot.

We ordered the macaroni and cheese with mushrooms and shrimp, the omu rice, fried kimchi things, and fried lotus root dumplings. The macaroni and cheese, at $6, was a great deal. It was served freshly baked in an oriental bowl. It's not your average american mac and cheese, it definitely had an asian spin on it and I enjoyed it, even though it was really oily. The fried lotus dumplings were good but the kimchi thing was a little spicy for me. Also the serving was really large. The omu rice was by far my favorite. It was flavorful and the best omu rice I've had thus far. I'll definitely be stopping by this place again. Next time, for drinks!

This past weekend, my friend planned a group dinner at Typhoon Lounge. I called the restaurant 3-4 times to make a reservation and no one picked up, so I decided to personally visit the restaurant at 5PM to make the reservation.  The hostess was very kind and took my reservation. However, I wasn't too happy with the pricing because we have such a huge party. I made a reservation for 16 people and if you have a party over six, each individual was required to order a minimum of $15.00 of food/drinks and 20% gratuity was charged.

The restaurant was very spacious and definitely a place to keep in mind for a large party. They have a large seating area downstairs which is where my friends & I sat and tea rooms too. The decor here is warm and simplistic. There was a dance that these people did around the restaurant and it was a little bit creepy, but I guess it's something they do to welcome the customers at Typhoon Lounge. The service here is...mediocre.

Everyone ordered their own appetizers and a lot of food. Unfortunately, I couldn't snap every piece of food that I wanted to, but I tried my best. You know what else stinks? This restaurant doesn't have any menu available for you to take home with you. I know they don't do take out really or delivery, but what if someone wants a menu because they don't remember the name of the dishes? Any way, here's a review of the food I've tried with my boyfriend that I can remember and did take pictures of:

Takoyaki: A must-have at any Japanese restaurant in St. Marks, but only when it's on their menu. The takoyaki at Typhoon Lounge looked exactly like the ones from Village Yokocho. Deep fried, fluffy, and decorated with bonito flakes on top. However, I feel the taste wasn't as rich and desirable as Village Yokocho's takoyaki. It didn't feel as though there was enough takoyaki sauce on the takoyaki. It was just mediocre.

Ramen: I actually don't know the actual name of the ramen that my boyfriend ordered. My boyfriend was curious to try their ramen, but he regretted it after he tried it. He despised it so much. I mean cleary the broth was a total sham. It just tasted like a bowl full of soy sauce. The vegetables weren't traditional vegetables used in ramen. They used yu choy instead. This ramen was a total bummer.

Omu-Don: I decided to order this and basically it was an omlette with korean fried rice and chicken cubes inside. I was curious to see what it tasted like. It sure looked good, but it didn't taste that great. There was hardly any flavor in it and it was bland in my opinion.

Fried Calamari: Definitely NOT the best I've had. No salt, no pepper, no seasoning. Just a wedge of lemon and korean hot sauce to dip with.

Edamame: It was probably one of the only foods I enjoyed that night. They were steamy hot and lightly salted, perfection.

I never tried Typhoon Lounge before and it was a hit or miss. I personally don't think I'll be returning to Typhoon Lounge. Their food definitely needs a little more flavor.

As if East Village is not already overwhelmed with drunkards every weekend, on the annual Let's Get Drunk Day celebration, I mean St. Patrick's Day, the neighbourhood is absolutely inundated with all kinds of stupidity. You have your drunken NYU kids. You have your drunken Bridge & Tunnel. You have your drunken I-Moved-Here-Because-Of-Sex-And-The-City chicks. Etc etc. You get the picture.

It was a Saturday night and I had stayed home most of the night, working on a little side project. It was already 2am when I hit a milestone and decided to stop. I was feeling happy and wanted to go have a beer. So I tasked myself with Mission Impossible: finding a relatively quiet and relaxed establishment in East Village that is not full of douchebags to get a drink, at 2am on the Saturday night of St. Patrick's Day weekend.

I really lucked out in finding Typhoon Lounge. There is table seating in the back, but sitting at the bar in the front were people who were obviously regulars. A quick look around revealed also that Japanese people in the neighbourhood liked to frequent this place. The movie about Biggie was playing on the TV screen at the bar, and people at the bar were just watching the movie, chatting, and drinking some beers. Perfect for what I was looking for.

They only have Sapporo on draft as far as beer goes, so I ordered a glass. I was also hungry so I decided to try the Japanese risotto with crab meat and egg - an interesting dish. While waiting for my food and listening to the bartender chat with her customers, it became obvious why all the people sitting at the bar were regulars. The bartender, Miu, is basically one of the coolest chicks you're likely to meet in this city. She's very chatty, very friendly, down-to-earth, and is always laughing about something. She also happens to be the first Zainichi Korean I would meet.

What is a Zainichi Korean? I'm glad you asked. A Zainichi Korean is an ethnic Korean from Japan. Many of them, as it was in Miu's case, do not speak Korean and do not have much connection to Korean culture. They are more or less Japanese, except in the genetic sense. Because of the controversial requirements of them to naturalise to become Japanese citizens, most Zainichi Koreans are actually not Japanese citizens despite having been born and raised in Japan. But rather, they are Korean citizens.

My Japanese risotto with crab meat and egg was pretty good. And since that Saturday night I've been back to Typhoon Lounge several times already. Their food menu consists of various Japanese street food dishes as well as ramen dishes. I would have to say that my favourite so far is the pork in plum sauce. But really, you all need to go check out Typhoon Lounge, sit at the bar, and tell Miu that Radford sent you.

Ambiance:  This place is decked out with bamboo, awnings and several odd-shaped corners, all of which give you the impression of a dated/vintage appeal.  This, combined with the recessed nooks and crannies where sake bottles sit and warm lighting glows, makes for a social atmosphere.  Any given table is likely to be pretty close to the next, but no matter - you'll still be able to hold a conversation without fear of spying or discomfort.

Service:  About as good as you'd expect.  The waitress accommodated us by letting us combine a couple tables so as to increase our party's size from what it was when we first arrived (some people joined last minute).  She also answered questions, gave suggestions and bantered freely.  She was nice.

Food:  The menu is a bit of a cluster/overload, but we ended up doing a lot of the tapa size dishes.  For five people, we ended up ordering quite a bit.  I think that this was the wiser way to go, because we ended up having more food to choose from.  Still, from what we could tell of the people around us, the rolls and larger dishes also looked pretty good.

TIP:  Review pictures of the food before you order them; this may help you distinguish between a tapa meal vs. a roll-based meal.

TIP:  The place has been known to fill up at a moment's notice.  Still, they will seat you without your entire party being there.  Take this under advisement and try to sit down if you're the first one there.  If you don't, they may give your table away by the time that your party arrives.

TIP:  The pork here was pretty good.

On a crowded block of St. Mark's Place, Typhoon is a great location... a nondescript exterior and ironically the restaurant having previously been a Spanish tapas place chose to keep the interior intact... but don't be fooled this is a Japanese restaurant.

Two-storied, there is room for larger groups, either in private shoji-screened rooms or in the main dining room. The menu is cumbersome, but worth taking the time to go through... a couple recommendations that we enjoyed: hijiki (sweet seaweed salad), octupus balls with bonita flakes, steak tips in a simmering pan, chicken fried rice wrapped in an omelet (very good), kimchi fried rice, miso-glazed eggplant, and a variety of sushi and sashimi choices.... great options to share with groups. The food is served as it is ready, very flavorful and traditional dishes. Also very reasonably priced.

There are also a lot of inventive cocktails to choose from... we had the shochu, barley-vodka essentially, is served with grapefruit puree, very fresh and palette cleansing.

Close to many bars/places to go out... worth trying.

Blowing up another spot.  Clearly I'm on a adrenaline fueled yelping mowing down spot after spot rage!  NO ONE CAN STOP ME!  Get of o my way, NOW!

Why are you retards ordering sushi here? You deserve to have had a 2 star dining experience here.  I hope you don't come back.

I've been here maybe 20 times or so, here's what's good:
    * it's Japanese "small" (not always small) tapas style plates, great for sharing
    * extensive sake selection
    * cheap beer pitchers
    * awesome downstairs back semi-private dining area you can reserve, seats about 8 to 10, barefoot dining action.  that means authentic, uh, right?

Dishes: (crap, no online menu i can find, i'll try my best):
    * sakura beef steak cubes
    * miso flavored beef
    * kim chi yaki udon
    * fried squid legs
    * curry rice
    * chicken karaege (fried chicken - just wanna prove i'm legit with the japanese name, tho mispelled)
    * croquettes

Ah, fark it, i give up.  Just ask them what's good.  There's like 50 to 100 things on their menu.

Gets crowded on weekends.  Great value.

    WTF TYPHOON?!?!?!

It's been awhile since I've been here and boy has it gone downhill.  To me, Typhoon has always been the cheaper sushi option without giving up being "regular".  That is no longer the case.

Do they have new owners?  I think so.

Their new idea of a spicy tuna roll is a teeny tiny sliver of tuna with a ton of rice with spicy mayo spread on top.  UGH, I prefer whole foods sushi over this garbage any day.

Do not order the spring rolls.  It is not a spring roll.  You'd picture small 3" rolls of fried goodness.  No.  It was literally a 10 ton fried BURRITO filled with garbage.  Ugh.

    Typhoon, please close down, now.

Typhoon was a fairly regular haunt of mine when I lived in the East Village. Their sushi happy hour is priced well, but is packed with more rice than I would like. Their tapas are spot on, and the dark yet warm lighting and bamboo decor make me feel like I'm up to no good somewhere in East Asia. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

During their Anniversary special, their rolls were pretty cheap.

    But crappy.

Yeah sorry Typhoon Lounge. You were crappy. There's no need to use 2 cups of rice to make 2 rolls.

My friend and I did an experiment. We peeled off the rice from our rolls. . .and yes. TWO cups of rice.

Ridiculous. Yeah. Cheap rolls. 80% rice, 10% wrap, 10% actual roll ingredients.

Wooosh! A typhoon has just landed over me! (and my opinion of this place) ahaha.  We came to St. Marks for some delish Japanese food...we were not treated with the same expectations and tenderness as we showed Typhoon Lounge.

    ATMOSPHERE:
It was a traditional, casual authentic Japanese decor and atmosphere. Walking in the bar is right at the front so it has a very welcoming and laid back vibe.  There is an upstairs and downstairs and has plenty of room for lots of customers. We had a small wait but was seated 15-20 minutes later.  We sat in a traditional style Japanese table with a short table and place mats on a bamboo hard floor or something similar to that. It was very different for me and uncomfortable for those guys with me who were big.  They should have had a hole to put your feet under the table. If you are going to make us sit like that at least provide more room behind the table!

    FOOD:
Huge disappointment.  The best dishes were the fried noodles with seafood topping and the pork roast beef on a sizzling platter.  The rest were all mada mada. (so-so) The waiter had even picked out all the dishes for us saying they were the crowd favorites. If THOSE are the crowd favorites, then the standard for food in this establishment is low.  We even ordered 3 plates of the Japanese Fried Chicken...Don't get it. Dry and over hyped.

    SERVICE:
Service was probably what gave them any stars in my book. The hostess and waiter/waitressing was good, generous and friendly.  The one that took our ordered helped us pick everything that was popular and had great personality.

    SUMMARY:
Not sure if I would come back here a lot, but if they are open late, then its not a bad place to come after the bar/club. Its an ok place to eat, but it is a decent place if you have a large party of friends who want to eat sushi/Japanese food. They have large rooms and spaces for large parties and that's really the only reason I would come back.

I was there last nite with my girlfriend and really had a great time. The place itself is very cool, even though if it weren't for the Japanese lanterns it would look like a Mexican taverna.

The service was kind and the food was tasty. We ordered only tapas, as I read that sushi here isn't really their thing. After our meal we were very full, so it's cheap and filling (great combo). The fried ice-cream was not great, so I wouldn't recommend it. This is what we had, and they were all pretty good:

spring rolls with pork, shrimp, mushrooms and veggies
Japanese style fish cake mozzarella stick
    fried stuffed lotus roots
grilled enoki mushroom & bacon skews
    fried calamari
    octopus balls
    steamed crab dumplings

I will definitely go back, maybe with a group of friends, so we can get one of their private rooms where u can sit on the floor.

This place is bigger than you'd expect. They have the upstairs area, downstairs, and a couple private rooms. Came here on a Saturday night and it didn't get crowded until around 10pm or so.

    Everything here was very mediocre.
    - the service isn't the best and the employees aren't very friendly
    - there's almost always a wait for the bathroom
    - their TAKOYAKI weren't homemade, they were from frozen packages
    - GREEN TEA ICE CREAM was nothing special
    - Their cocktail (Calpico-based) tasted pretty good but was a bit too sweet

We ordered a bunch of tapas to share. Pretty much all of them exceed expectations.
Most dishes have fancy garnish, as part of Japanese conventional style.
Their raw oyster platter, in particular, has extremely sophisticated taste with very unique seasonings.. And believe it or not, it cost 9 dollars for 6 pieces.
Other stuff were quite cheap as well. Given the ambiance and food quality, I gotta say, what a steal!

Typhoon Lounge is a bit farther east from the chaos of St Marks, and I was so glad Vicky L. took us there. There was no wait and the restaurant was spacious enough, cute, and chill. We ordered way too much food and the bill was completely reasonable. The food was awesome too, and we enjoyed our drinks - beer, cocktail, and sake. In food, we had the raw oysters, the country style beef bowl, fried potato, cod roe pasta, diced beef jalapeno sauce, buttered flounder with marinated mushrooms, a fried fish dish, and two rolls. My favorites were the beef bowl and the buttered flounder, yum.

The menu is vast. There are so many choices that it is pretty overwhelming. In the end, I just decided not to get an appetizer at all. For an entree, I ordered the salmon don. The salmon was surprisingly soft, but it did not taste fresh. It lacked the sea smell and familiar bite of a freshly caught salmon. The salmon roe that accompanied it were sad, little, wrinkled orange balls. They were slightly salty, but mostly tasted as if they were dried out from standing out on the sushi counter too long. The rice was acceptable, it was soft and sweet, but not too vinegary.

The atmosphere reminds me slightly of kenkas - wooden tables, dirty floors, huge menu. I can confirm there were random gnats all over the place. They were extremely irritating when I was eating.

If you can help it, head over somewhere else.

DO NOT go to this place for sushi. A lot of people seem to be giving this place harsh reviews and have ordered all but a roll and some noodle.

Tyhpoon lounge specializes in japanese tapas and cheap sake, so order your heart out. I've literally tried almost 80% of the menu and will say only 1 in 5 dishes are a miss. I highly recommend the deep fried squid legs with spicy mayo sauce, it seems to be a universal hit with everyone at the table. I once brought a party of 5 people here and ate and drank til we were full which resulted in a bill that was all but $103. The service is great, the waitresses work very hard. My only qualms is with the creepy asian guy who seats you in the front, he definitely has questionable hygiene.

Typhoon Lounge was recommended by a friend and we visited for some late night plum wine. It is located on St Marks between 1st and 2nd Ave and it is a great place for after-dinner drinks, or a sushi dinner out with friends.  There are multiple menus so yes it I have not tried the food, but I found the plum wine to be tasteful and refreshing and easy on the palate. There are four varieties, of burgundy, rum, white wine mixtures.  If you are not much of a drinker such as myself and cannot stomach most popular american cocktails, you will find the plum cocktails to be light, fun, and worth  a second or even third round. The atmosphere is somewhat dimly lit and tables are close together, but they have private seating areas in case you want to bring a large group after work or dinner.  The decor is not "ethnic" or japanese-y, but cozy and almost cave-like. I will be going back to try the food in the very near future, and definitely for the plum wine.

I came here last Thursday with J.  I've been here before and always ordered their sushi and maki here.  On a cold day - I usually would order their udon.

But this time around we ordered the following:

    Tatsuta - Japanese fried chicken

    Ikura sushi

    Salmon with spinach maki

    Toro Tartar!

I thought it was strange that this place has Toro tartar but they don't have Toro sushi or sashimi.

I ordered the tartar thinking it was finally satisfied my long craving for toro but unfortunately this dish just didn't cut it.

I couldn't taste the delectable melt in your mouth fatty tuna.

    *sigh*

All I tasted was just mushiness and couldn't quite make out the ultimate goodness of the toro itself.  I just felt the preparation of this dish masked my toro.

I liked everything I have tried here except the tartar.

My favorite Japanese place along St. Marks - for sure. I love Typhoon because there is never a problem getting a seat as it's located a little off the main block. They serve really reasonably priced Japanese Tapas and home-cooked-style dishes.

A friendly spot for drinkers, meat lovers, and vegetarians alike -- here are some dishes I recommend:

    Gyoza - pork dumplings $4.50
Age-dashi-dofu - fried tofu in sauce with scallions $4.50
    +
Omu rice - fried tomato rice with chicken and chopped onions wrapperd in omelette with brown sauce on top.
    For $7 -- deal alert!!!

Yes this place serves sushi, but don't forget about all the regular entrees!

My favorite here is the curry rice. Their curry is the dark brown type that seems like it has been slow cooked for days. There's pulled chicken that is super soft and flavorful mixed up with curry and onion. This is some of the best Japanese style curry in the city.

They have plenty of small plates to offer as well as shochu, sake and beer. You can also buy a bottle of shochu or sake and if you don't finish it, they will put your name on it and keep it behind the bar for you.

Friendly staff and clean dining quarters. Bring a lot of people and sit in one of the private rooms which is more traditional (sitting on the tatami mat covered floor with cushions, shoes off).

Stays open late on the weekends.

$1.50 - $4 rolls??? I don't care how crappy the sushi is. As long as I don't get sick, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. The minimum is $8 per person so we ordered about 3 rolls each. It definitely fills you up. (This half-off special is for Sun-Thurs only)

Went back on a Friday night. Tuna tartare was spicy. Spicy crunchy rolls were good and so was the calamari. 1/2 liter of sake seemed enough for 4 people.

With half-off sushi from Monday through Thurday, Typhoon is cheap.

So how come whenever I come here, I end up walking out with a three figure bill?!?

Okay, so more than half of that is usually beer and sake, or rather, multiple rounds of beer and sake.  This is a good sign of fun times, and bodes well for a good review.

Outside of the cheapness and fun times, the food is actually pretty good.  Each variety of sushi has its own distinct taste, and are packed with a good chunk of fish (or whatever is in the roll you order).  Watch out for the wasabi hidden in the nigiri - it packs a wallop, especially if you don't know it's there and you dip it in your own custom made super strong wasabi soy dip.

There's a decent selection of sake here, but they're pretty normally priced compared to sake bars in the area.  I have a bad habit of ordering the $60 bottle after a pitcher of beer and a small carafe of the cheaper sake.

In all honesty, I should be avoiding this place. I am prone to fall into the cycle of addiction that starts with the beer and sake, then taken to another level with the sushi served, then spiraling to more beer and sake, then more sushi ordered, etc etc...

    Chicken of the Sea...wha?

This is one of those restaurants that should change the title to reflect the best thing on the menu.  Nathan's should just be "Hot dog", The Old Homestead should just be "Beef".  Following suit, Typhoon should just say "Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll" on the awning above the entrance.

I made the mistake of getting other fish on the half off menu, but quickly found the err in my ways and focused on eating the crunchy spicy tuna roll.

Ok, the service wasn't great.  They didn't refill our water until after we paid the bill and even though we told them we were in a hurry, they still took their time getting the bill.  But it's cheap!

Ok, the sushi isn't amazing.  It was good, and the fish seemed fairly fresh, but not great.  But it's cheap.

    Yeah... I'll probably be back.

This place isn't that pricey.  It's not the cheapest, but the food's pretty awesome.  I come here all the time with the same person, and everything we've ever ordered (we usually do a tapas-style meal) has been super good.

They have this fish thing with cheese in the middle.  Try that.

And there are these octopus balls with little fish flakes that writhe around like they're alive.  It's totally disgusting to behold.  Don't try that.

Also, don't ever come here with a crowd.  That's why they lost two stars for me.  Said friend had a birthday here, and there were 10 of us, so we sat in the little room where you take your shoes off and sit on pillows.  It was horrid.

The servers took forever to do anything.  We waited to order, we waited for our sake, and we waited FOREVER for food.  I mean, we're a big party, but come on.

But the real issue here is that the staff started to get snippy with us.  They wanted us out because they had another reservation, but they had no grace about it and they hadn't even brought us all our food!  Specifically, they hadn't brought two of MY dishes, and I was starving, so I said to the waiter "Yeah, I still need a [whatever it was]."

He said to me--RUDELY--that they weren't taking more orders.  Rule #1, don't EVER cop an attitude with me (I didn't tip him), and I had to say "Well that's too bad because I ordered it over an hour ago, and I'm still sitting here hungry."

So the food was good, but we were all pretty pissed at them by the end of it all.  I hope the party waiting walked out.

    So, yeah.  That's my story.

When I think of great sushi, I think of Typhoon Lounge. Just hearing the name gives rise to a deep craving within my soul. I shared a a spicy salmon roll dish and a combination plate, which consisted of a variety of tasty sushi and sashimi, there. Accompanied by some good sake, this meal was so good, I wish I could be there right now gorging myself on this japanese goodness.

    And I'm not even hungry.

Sushi IS cheap Mon-Thu at half off -- but you must order a minimum of $8 per person (probably why so many folks have been spotted with mounds of it).  The "home" foods are definitely way tastier -- had a special pumpkin dish and udon too. Delicious, and much more worthy of my stomach space than the average sushi (decent fish, too much rice in the roll).

Lots of sake to be had here too.

Cozy decor and decent service. Come for a cheap time with friends. We spent less than $20 each for our meal plus sake and tea.

Typhoon is a nice change of setting from the other japanese places on St. Marks and more relaxing. Their sushi isn't amazing but at half price Mon-Thurs it satisfies any cravings. The best here though are their tapas like the tatsuta/chicken wings or whatever's on their daily specials menu. And the $15 Kirin pitchers are good for groups.

I brought a friend from out of town here and he loved it. It's a good place to bring a non New Yorker to when trying to show them the East Village Japanese usuals without freaking them out at super busy and loud places like Oh! Taisho and Kenka.

Typhoon is one of those rare restaurants that I'd like to take all my friends so that I can go over and over again!  It's the perfect spot for a nice warm spring day after a long day's work to chill, eat, and have a long beer induced conversation with good friends.  The sushi is 50% off and really fresh, while the small plates are great for those of us whose taste buds get bored easily.  2 friends, a plate of sushi, 5 small plates, and a pitcher of beer is my idea of a great night out.

Think of Oh Tai Sho except with space and no wait.

Just had a late Sunday dinner here with a friend because the line at Ramen Setagaya is too long and the temp outside is dropping. I'd heard good things about this place from friends.

We both got the the Nabeyaki (sp?) Udon. Service was friendly and fast. Decor was somewhat medieval like the other reviewers have said and dim.

A table near us got a huuuuuuge plate of sushi. Our mouths were salivating. We definitely have to come back another time to take advantage of the Sun - Th 50% off sushi deal!

Like everyone else who's got their sushi-legs, I avoid all the heavily discounted or all you can eat sushi deals like the plague. I stumbled into this place looking for ramen and found a cute little cavern of delicious japanese food.

The ramen was authentic and tasty without being insanely heavy. The gyoza were crunchy and soffft. The sushi wasn't very good, but it was as cheap as can be ($1.50 per nigiri!) and weren't *awful*, just not great. Also, for some reason the beer tasted funky that night (kirin on draft).

I'd recommend it, but stick to the cooked foods and sake.

I like this place because on st. marks you have too many over crowded, tiny seating japanese izakayas/restaurants.  This place stands out a bit.  Yes it's still a bit loud, but not as loud.  Some tables are a bit close together, but no tiny seats!  And most of the food is served in a tapa/appetizer style.  The food quality is higher then most in this area for japanese places.  And it's more date friendly (if you care about that).  So choose accordingly people when it comes to dining in an izakaya... You want classy (classier), come here.

I'm giving it 4 stars because they had Sakekawa (broiled salmon Skin rolls) and I know a few sushi joints that don't have it. I went there on a sunday when I was visiting NYC and I must say that the half off deal is a deal! I would go back for sure....if I lived anywhere near NYC. Alas I am stuck in Chicago and will have to deal with House of Noodles (which is awesome...yuck yuck!!)

I wonder if that one reviewer was referring to our table... we did have alot of sushi.

    - very reasonable pricing
    - spotty service, waited over 30 minutes for the check when there was only one other table
    - surprisingly fresh and well cut tuna
    - enjoyed the music selection of the evening
    - I want to say it was overall a good experience, but I felt sick by the end of the meal :(

Mon-thurs 50% off sushi - made this place worth checking out. The sushi list small but even before the discount the sushi is fairly cheap ~6-7 dollars for most items. The fish isn't high quality but decent and suprisimgly tasty.

Being a lounge, they also have a wondeful menu of "tapas" style items of eccentric japanese style bar foods.

This is a great place to just hang out, grab a drink and snack.

This is a good sushi spot around St Marks...

Classic fare, Great atmosphere. Friendly staff, very accommodating as more people kept showing up to our party.

Wait on a Friday night w/ no RSVP... 15mins.

    Worth a visit!
