It's Disney so what do you expect? Such a wonderful time.
I bought a yearly pass for Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach!
Typhoon has a lot of great rides along with the huge wave pool
with the biggest wave ever! Everyone will run into the water when they
hear the huge wave coming down.
Lunch prices aren't bad at all. Personally being at a water park in the heat I wouldn't want anything hot to eat so on the way I'll stop by Publix and grab some subs or from Subway. Cheaper and I think more delicious :) -

Best. Waterpark. Ever.
Its big, and there's a large range of things to do that will accomodate both young and old. Aside from your normal lazy river, and gigantic slides with steep drops, there is also a separate kiddie area, an insane gigantor wave pool that is not for the timid or very young (everyone would start screaming as soon as the buzzer sounded and even if you're on the shallow shore area, the aftershock will still get you!), and of course, what makes it extra unique, the wonderful shark reef habitat that allows you to snorkel among the stingrays, sharks and other fishes. As the sharks started to come near me, I swam away really fast, lol.
I hate that all the waterparks close at 8pm though. Would stay there all day if I could.
Oh well, thank goodness we have a nice Disney resort to return to! Back to Pop Century it is for some more night swimming!
Already planning my trip back!!!! -

I went here 4 times on our vacation to Disney World. Get there early, then leave around noon when it just gets too packed. Going across the street to Disneyquest for the rest of the day. I liked this park but there were some total duds on the slides.
A quick rundown of the different attractions.
Castaway creek. Nice and relaxing...if you can avoid the kids.
Shark Reef is way cool...and ccccold too! It's a must do! Try and get there at opening. I'm sure it will be much quicker if you do.
CrushnGusher These were good. Not GREAT but good an average of a seven for all three slides.
Gang Plank falls. A cast member tried to steer us clear of this one. We should have listened. If the line is more than 5 minutes, this ride is a waste of your time.
Keelhaul Falls Again this is a waste of time to stand in line for longer than 10 minutes. Do something else instead.
Mayday Falls is a bit more exciting but a bit more violent too. To much banging into walls and not enough sliding. A 15 minute wait isnt unreasonable though.
Stormslides. Best rides in the park. We did them repeatedly over the 4 days we were there. Great design.
Surf/Wave pool. This is cool, but also a bit irritating. It seems that there are a few regulars that take over one section of the pool. This can be a drag but it really is an INTENSE wave experience. We actually went back on the forth day just to do this with the kids. If you have a bad back...don't venture into this pool.
Humunga Cowabunga. We did it once. And once was enough. Not really that great.
My 8 year old daughter didn't really enjoy ketchakiddie creek. She wanted the wave pool and storm sliders more.
Overall this park has GREAT theming, and one of the cool things is they have the water flowing everywhere. I get there early though so you can get some possible shade from the surrounding trees because this one has less shade than Blizzard Beach.
The "all you can drink" cup is worth it if you are planning to stay all day. And save some room for those hot fresh donuts.Listed in: 14 Days of Disney Fun!

WHAT A WAVE POOL!!! I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS IN FOR! This wave pool is and ultimate rush!!! Parents, just be careful with the little ones that don't swim, This wave pool is extreme!!!
Make sure that your children have floating devices on to avoid accidental mishaps. The rest of the park is kid friendly and awesome. And please!!!! Do not buy your tickets outside of those convience stores, we got jipped out of $500, and when we got to this wonderful attraction, we were told that the tickets were not valid.
WE DID GET OUR MONEY BACK AFTER WE WENT BACK AND CONFRONTED THEM AND TOLD THEM that WE WERE FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. ENJOY!!!! -

I liked Typhoon Lagoon alot . . . probably a 5 star place but they could use one or 2 more EXCITING rides to make this the ideal water park. However, if you come here to relax . . . this park is ideal.
The lazy river was fun, fun, fun . . . just relaxing. I did that thing for atleast an hour and even though there was noise from kids . . . I didn't hear a thing . . . I was in my zone.
The Crush and Gusher is hilarious . . . fun ride to do as a duo or a trio.
The wave pool can get intense . . . I wasn't the deepest out there but i was one of the deepest . . . I had alot of fun though parents watch your kids. The lifeguards are on point at this attraction.
The place is huge . . . and I did some of everything and the lines go quick for the most part. I chose this place over Blizzard Beach and I was not disappointed.
Parking was free :) -

Great Falls, MT
This park was just okay. The slides are very short and lack the thrills of the rides at aquatica. My 4 year old could ride all the rides in the park except the large raft coaster. That was a cool ride but not fast or thrilling either. Whoever says this is a big park is wrong. We went in October with not crowded and were pretty board in the afternoon. The wave pool is huge and pretty awesome. The tidal area near the wave pool is cool for little kids and an interesting idea. The kids area really doesn't have that much to do. My daughter had much more fun at Aquatica's kids area. The lazy river is too lazy unless you want to take a nap. The park is fairly clean, not as clean as Aquatica. I probably would not go back, there are much better parks. Given the ratings, I have wonder if Disney employees are making the contributions.

MAJOR props to the friendly people here! Mah boo and I went to Disney World for Valentine's weekend, and it was empty here (since it was cold for Florida residents). We got here 15 minutes before opening (so excited, we know) and spoke to some of the guys at the front. They were friendly, and were about to give us a VIP, early tour of the place, since...why not, right?
We swipe our hotel cards (we got the 3 day theme park pass for the weekend) but it failed. Uh oh. What, the water parks don't count, and you have to pay an additional $50 each?? We did NOT know that. Bummer. The lady at the front said too bad, so sad. We walked away, but the guys were all encouraging her; "C'mon, just let them in!!" She relents. The guy lets us in as if we were workers. Woohoo!!
We get our VIP tour, along with complimentary locks and two towels each (wow). The place itself is on the smaller scale, and it would probably be an absolute nightmare if you came in the summer. But for the first hour, we were pretty much the only people there. A couple hours later, maybe 20 others came through.
The roller coaster type ride with the shared tube was the most fun-there's three different kinds, and it's a lot of fun!! The only con is that you (ahem or your boo) has to carry the tube up several flights of stairs, each time. Same with all of the other tube rides, actually. My next favorite ride was when we just slid down the slide on our backs-I didn't dare go to the scarier one that was just a straight drop. The peaceful circle tube ride along the park was nice and calming, too. Ahhh...paradise!
You can also try surfing (pros come in to practice, apparently) and swim with live sharks (we didn't do that though, maybe next time?). I loved the slides and tube rides, but there weren't that many total. The water was also heated at 83 degrees, which was way warmer than the weather outside. My advice-definitely come here on a colder day, it's well worth it and the water's warm!
The showers were super cold, however-they weren't heated. I guess it helps you go green, though. The food was decent-burgers and fries, and there are funnel cakes (gotta love 'em!).
On our way out, we saw our lovely host who hooked us up with everything-and he told us to grab a Big Kahuna medal (since we were the first to arrive). Sweeeet! What a great last day of our magical journey :) -
Review from Rodney H.
The last time I visited a water park I was 12. I was a really skinny kid in the middle of abusing my ugly stage and I remember being excited to see girls from my class in two piece swimsuits. The slides were far from exciting and we had to go down them on lame mats.
Those are the things that popped into my head when my kids said their first day at Walt Disney World they wanted to spend it at Typhoon Lagoon.
We put on our swimsuits, packed our towels and snacks and began our pilgrimage. What I first discovered is there are no signs, anywhere, telling you where it is. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Blizzard Beach are all represented quite well but no love for Typhoon Lagoon. What I discovered it that you need to head to Downtown Disney and once you are getting closer, will discover a sign that it's on your right.
This park is laid out very well with a big wave pool in the middle, a "lazy river" that goes around it along with lots of slides for all ages and levels of courage. There is a family ride where you can all go on, one for two of you and lots for solo riders. You can even swim with fish and sharks with masks and snorkels that are free of charge.
Here is what I learned as part of my journey here:
* you can buy mugs for $10 with unlimited refills. Buy one (they are a cool souvenir) and bring a lot of plastic cups for the family to share and just keep refilling. Yes, it sounds a bit cheap but if they have no problem charging you this much for soda, I have no problem trying to exploit it.
* there are chairs everywhere yet everyone wants to be by the lagoon. We went right by an entrance to the lazy river (which was also 20 feet from a soda refill station) and had the area to ourselves. Keep your sanity and just walk a few extra feet to the wave pool.
* I love the British - their fashion, music and even took a fancy to one that worked at the hotel I stayed at in London HOWEVER they turn into pasty white missiles at the wave pool that will run you over. I'm guessing that waves are not something they experience too often and stand in groups. When the waves come, they get carried away with them and if you are behind said group then ~ wham ~ right into you they go. So watch where you stand.
* the floor of the wave pool is not sand but textured concrete so if you do get carried with a wave, will have lots of scrapes to show for it. Don't sit down in the shallow water thinking it will be fun for the wave to hit you. Actually that part is but it's the next 20 feet as you curse the concrete that isn't.
Parking is free, the employees are friendly and it's a park where you can nap in the shade and let the kids run off. A solid four stars! -

What a nice break from walking around in the heat. It may not have as many attractions as other water parks, but it's shear size makes it stand out. When we decided between Blizzard Beach and here, we took it to Yelp and it seemed like Typhoon Lagoon was the clear favorite.
Castaway Creek - this lazy river was so relaxing. Choose a single, double or kiddie tube and use it like the railroad at Disney (stop at your desired location, rather than walk). There can be a lot of people, but it seemed to be wider than most water parks. Good break on a hot day.
Crush N Gusher - the best ride here. 1,2 or 3 person tubes down a long slide. I like the drops, speed and turns. Since there are 3 courses to choose from it doesn't back up as much as other rides. I'd say go on this one 1st when you get in the park.
Gang Plank Falls - a family coaster, but very short. For the amount of time we waited to get in this one, it was over in about 10 seconds. Not worth the wait.
Shark Reef - neat offering (although only my wife did it) where you can swim with fish and baby sharks for free. It lasts about 5 minutes and you can rent snorkel gear for $20, but what's the advantage?
I would go back here again and am curious to check out Blizzard Beach to compare the two. Glad Disney has a couple waters parks...when will they bring one to CA? -

I'm not a big fan of water park because I'm easily disgusted by many things, including standing water, wet locker room, and wet pavement.
But, I can safely say that typhoon lagoon is the only water park that I will walk around with bare foot (except when I go to the rest room). It's pretty clean for water park with lots of shades and gazzillion of people.
Of course, price is pretty expensive compared to the other water parks, but it's worth it. Crush n gusher is awesome. The employees are nice like 50% of the time. The other 50% looks like they just didn't wanna be there.
Four stars for the place. It's well shaded, pretty clean for water parks, and 50% of nice employees. I know it couldn't get better than this, but hey, this is disney, when the magic is supposedly come true, so I was expecting something a little bit more.
Minus one star for one lazy ass life guard, who didn't bother to help the poor crying little girl trying to get out of the water, and also for the not so clean shower room. Also, for not providing any shampoo or soap.
But hey, it's pretty good for water parks. -

Shame on you yelpers for failing to tell me this place is BORING!!! I guess it's okay if you have little ones or anxiety about waterslides, because you can do just about all of the slides at this park! The most terrifying of all is the wave pool. A wall of people coming at you can be pretty scary. Blizzard Beach any day!

Disney does everything so well. I went on a friday morning when they opened at 10am and it was not really busy. School was in (yet there were kids everywhere!), rain was predicted for the day, and it's not the busy season so the park was only about 1/4 of the way filled up. I was able to find a nice quiet place for my partner and me to relax. Of course with hundreds of spots to pick, a loud family with 5 kids came right up next to us and set up camp! We picked up our things and moved down a bit to get away from them but actually after setting up their stuff, they went off to play in the park so we really did not see them again for the rest of our stay. If you don't like to be around kids, this park is not for you. In fact, Blizzard Beach (Disney's other water park) is designed for kids more than Typhoon is.
Anyway... We spent about 4 hours relaxing in the sun and occasional clouds passing over head. My partner just wanted to relax and not do any rides so he just read but I wanted to do some rides. Everything was a walk on or only a 5 min wait at most. The hardest part for me is climbing all the stairs they have to get high enough for all the rides. Everything works on gravity! But it all fun... well themed... and well worth the effort of the climb. My favorite is just the lazy river where you float around the park in a big tube relaxing. The wave pool is good to but I just don't understand why everybody screams when a wave is generated. Its just a wave...
We did have lunch at the main counter service area. The food was good but of course were high Disney prices. Lunch for the two of us was $20 without drinks. We both have the all day refillable mugs. Those are $10 apiece but you can refill them yourself all day. Worth the price... but for some reason on this visit, there were a ton of bees by the refill station nearest us. Every time I would go up, there were about a dozen bees buzzing around the taps. Not cool.... Especially if you are allergic to bees! I had to walk farther away to the next one to get refills to avoid the bees.
By about 2pm, the rain clouds moved in and it started to pour. We collected our things and left for the day. It's not a big deal for us since we get in as much as we want (we both have annual passes) but for those guests who paid $50 a pop to get in, they braved the rain and then ran back to the rides when it was done.
All in all, we love Typhoon Lagoon and always enjoy the attractions, relaxing moments, and the occasional hot guy/girl passing by. ;-) -

I believe this is a must see attraction, better than Epcot.Listed in: Water Parks

Always a family favorite, Typhoon Lagoon, is perfect for cooling off in the summer sun!
Go early, like 9am early. You will have your pick of beach chairs and the lines are all less than 5 minutes long, till about 10:30. We literally did EVERY slide in the park in less than an hour.
The lazy river is my favorite, just wish they wouldn't pour freezing cold water in the water fall features. Ugh, hate that.
The crushin gusher is super fun! Worth the wait!
Make sure to take the photo cards they give you. even if you do not want to buy the pictures they are hilarious to checkout on line the next day!
We had lunch at the Leaning Palms and it was good. A tasty summer salad was filling and flavorful. -

It's OK. The wave pool is a bit rough for anyone who is 1) in a bikini or 2) Not a strong swimmer. The sand is a nice touch, and the lazy river is very relaxing. But the food is VERY overpriced! I mean, $3 for a brownie?! (In 2000--I'm sure it's higher now)

I've been to Typhoon Lagoon several times over the years, and returned recently again. It's a great way to spend a 1/2 day in Florida!
It's Disney of course, so everything is family friendly. My biggest recommendation to get there early to find some chairs in a shady spot, and to hit all the water slides early before the lines get crazy long. Some slides are tamer than others...but each are fun in their own way. I enjoyed the newer Crush 'n' Gusher slides the most...There's 3 different ones to try & you ride on tubes of 2 or 3 people. The surf pool is fun...Every few minutes a giant wave is produced and it's fun to see how far you can ride it. And of course you can't go wrong in the lazy river...Grab a tube, and just float as long as you wish. The shark reef is cool too...You get to snorkel over a pool of sharks and other tropical fish.
There's plenty of places to grab a snack while there. They have locker and towel rentals if you need them. A fun place for all ages! -

Probably the best park that we visited during our stay. My husband and I visited twice during our week visit. Once with the entire family and once by ourselves.
One of the best water parks we've ever been to. Excellent variety of slides, both fast and slow. Nice size wave pool, lounging area, lazy river. Perfect place to cut the heat and humidity.
Snorkeling in the shark reef was fun too. Masks and snorkel gear provided.
Park is pristine! Friendly staff. Our nieces and nephews still talk about this place. -

We went to the park around the afternoon time, so it was packed! Its always a pleasure to come across other individuals from around the globe joined together for one purpose.. SOME FUN!

AWESOME WATER PARK! This is a must see on your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Imagine running around on an abandoned island! Float around the park via the Castaway Creek. Watch out for the engines draining on you! Check out the Surf Pool for some killer waves! Swim out to 8Ft and ride them in or stay on shore of the zero degree beach and watch out you don't get knocked over! The Crush 'n' Gusher is a great water coaster! Hold on tight!! Not only do they have a large selection of watersides, there is also a Shark Reef where you can strap on a mask and some flippers and snorkel across this giant fish tank! Waters really cold, so be prepared! Snack and drink stands around the park. Counter serve meals also. I recommend renting a locker and bringing necessary items only. Sunscreen, flip flops, money, towels (also available for rent, they are very clean) and your keys. Park closes early so plan accordingly!

Let me tell you where Typhoon Lagoon shines:
It has an actual shark reef with saltwater snorkeling. Granted, it's pretty small.
The 2.75 million (yes - million) gallon wave pool in this place is crazy. From anywhere in the park you will hear what sounds like a huge crash of thunder, followed by the excited screams of a couple hundred people. Waves up to 6 ft high are then belted out onto everyone brave enough to weather the storm. I recommend getting here early on busy days to experience this. Once that pool fills up - you will be tossed into flailing arms, legs and feet and will most likely leave with bruises.
You can pay extra, show up before the park opens and take actual surfing lessons. I've heard some really great feedback on that program.
Mayday Falls - a tubing ride through "caves and waterfalls" was one of my favorite slides in the park.
There are three smooth body slides (storm slides) to choose from.
Unfortunately, we were here in July and an incredible tropical storm passed through. (Don't travel here in July if you can help it) That storm caused us to be unable to experience the Humunga Kowabunga speed slides. Labeled with "5 story drops at speeds up to 30 mph" - I was pretty disappointed we missed them.
We went to BB first and someone tipped us to ride the Crush'n Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon first thing, as it was their newest attraction. We did and well, I just wasn't that impressed. It was ok. Pretty much your basic set of tubing slides that varied a little bit.
One of the most convenient features of this park presents itself as you walk in. A huge billboard that discloses how many chairs are available in each section of the water park. We found an awesome little section with the best of both worlds, sun & shelter.
I had one of the best hot dogs I've ever had in my life at Typhoon Tilly's. Served up on a wheat bun, Mmmmm. -

Kids on our trip, ages 6 and 4.
This was the first year that we'd incorporated the Disney Waterparks into our trips. We went to Typhoon Lagoon first after a very long day at Hollywood Studios. This waterpark is perfect for the younger set of kids.
I recommend you arrive there after 1 PM. The crowd level was low, and there were plenty of seats open. However, we were there the first week in May...which obviously also played a part.
Here's what you should know about this place, if you have smaller kids with you:
1. The "floor" of the wave pool is rough, and you can EASILY cut up your legs on it if you are a smaller kid.
2. Make sure your kids wear crocs or flip flops or something when walking out and around..as the "sprayers" aren't always working and their feet will get burnt.
3. There is only one bar area there, be prepared to wait in line for a long time if you are getting a drink from the bar. (Drink recommendation: Pina CoLAVA!)
4. The "blaster" roller coaster ride there, IMO was way overrated.
The best part of this place...my 4 year old daughter was able to do every single ride except the "racing" body slides. The Yellow tubes were really hard to carry up to the top for her, however. All in all, we had a great time here. -

I worked in the WDW College Program in the summer of 98 and even had a fun-loving, CRAZED Scottish flat-mate at Vista Way who used to work at Typhoon Lagoon, but NEVER, EVER made it out there. I'm embarassed to admit this, but I CAN'T SWIM. Well, to be honest, I can swim, but I'm SCARED of water.
Well, over 10 years later, I finally got over my phobia and took a trip to Orlando with some friends for GAY DAYS and I have to tell you: I FRIGGIN' LOVE TYPHOON LAGOON.
Of course, we were there partying from around 10-2AM (when they kicked our butts out). Talk about FUN, FUN, FUN! They set up a DJ booth right on the beach (real sand, by the way...hard to dance in flip-flops). Thank goodness the rain stopped and it was a clear (but cool) night. They had most of the rides open until 1AM and the wave pool tossing us around until the VERY last song. The shark reef was not open so late (b/c they were serving ALCOHOL)
We didn't ride the lazy river, but every ride, but the water slides were a blast. The water slides just served to give each member of our party ATOMIC wedgies and for the ladies...beware of losing your bikini top (seriously). The wave pool is pretty hard-core for novice swimmers so don't go in if you can't swim out to the deep water b/c if you stay in the more shallow end, the waves will literally crash you into the stucco bottom and scratch up your feet, ankles or toss you on your head (pretty dangerous). Luckily, no one at the party was hurt, but just a warning. Oh and make sure that people aren't standing DIRECTLY in front of you when the waves hit, or you could be the smashed into them by the strong waves!
All in all, can't complain, but hopefully will return there during the day ;-p -
Review from Kelley I.
This is my favorite water park in Orlando. For two years I had an annual pass and it is something that I really miss :( I love the this park is covered in trees. It's not some metal water park where you feel like you're standing in the blazing sun for hours. It's Disney so they have gone over and above on ambiance.
They have a fair amount of seating and if you arrive at the right time (either early in the morning or late afternoon) you should be able to find a good spot.
They don't have a ton of thrill rides at this park. It is more a place to beat the heat and have some fun in the water. Crush n Gusher is a fun, reverse roller coaster ride, but it's not scary at all. Trust me, I'm a wimp about this kinda things :)
Oh and if you go be sure to get a bucket of ice cream. Not sure what the official name is but it's a child size sand pail filled with an ice cream sundae. Make sure you have a few friends to split it with because it's pretty good size. -

To make a long story short my husband and I got tickets to go to Typhoon Lagoon since it was almost 100 degrees in FL even though it was the beginning of October. We desperately needed to go to a water park! It was either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon in Disney. We decided on typhoon lagoon without a question since it has a tropical oasis theme. We arrived there about 30 min after they opened and we didn't have to pay for parking (UNLIKE DISNEY & UNIVERSAL $12 parking!) You could also bring your own cooler with drinks and snacks. It was love at first sight! Everything was so clean! And it had so many water rides, pools, rivers and even a shark reef with salt water snorkeling.
The first thing we went on was the lazy river, it was very relaxing and clean. The park provides the tubes and you have a selection of single and double tubes. There was waterfalls and surfer 60's music playing through the river. The river also went through the entire park and had multiple exits along the way.
We then decided we wanted to get on the water rides....we had a blast! There are so many of them. Our favorite was this "roller coaster" type water ride! There was like 4 different one and we got on each one!
My husband was the only one who got on the Shark Reef since it was required that you are a strong swimmer (which I'm nottt) If you don't snorkel you have the option to go inside view the fishes, sting rays and sharks on the windows. It looked really nice! And they provide the equipment If you decide to snorkel.
The pool that caught our attention the most was the HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WAVE POOL!!! Every minute or so there is a big warning sound through the entire park and a HUGE WAVE comes at your direction and everyone screams. It was so fun! There is lifeguards watching the pool at all times.
There is a shop that sells everything from towels to clothes, and everything u could possibly need to be in the water. But as any theme park you pay the price at the register. This goes for the restaurant and ice cream shop there too (which is the only thing you crave while you are there)
Another major thing with me was that the bathrooms and changing rooms were SUPER CLEAN and DRY to be a water park. The bathrooms even smelled nice (baby powder smell) and all the bathroom supplies were refilled even though it was close to closing time.
This water park deserves 5 stars. We loved it and we will very much be going back there when we visit Orlando again! -
Review from Omaira D.
My fave water park ever! though it's disney, and you see some characters like lilo & stich, it's hardly over themed with disney propoganda.
you do have to get there early on a hot day to reserve lounge chairs. if you get there late, remember that there are chairs in every corner of the park. they have sand in most of the lounging places, so you do feel like you're at the beach.
it has the largest wave pool that i've ever seen (i believe they claim it is the largest in the u.s.) it's a different kind of wave pool - it basically sends a single, huge tsunami type wave every 90 seconds. it can get kind of strong when the waves hit, so be careful with little ones. I love their shark tank that you can snorkel through!
the food is what you'd expect at the theme parks. no nice restaurants on site, all fast food. the best value is the all day refillable cup ($10) - where they put a bar code sticker on your cup and you refill at various stations. the cup is keeper souvenir cup. they also have a great sundae ($10) where you get the ice cream in a plastic pail with a plastic shovel - instant sand toys!
I bought the Florida Resident Water Parks After 2 p.m. Annual Pass and go just about every weekend :) -

We first went to Typhoon Lagoon shortly after we moved to Orlando. It gets incredibly hot and uncomfortable in Central Florida and what better way to spend the day than at a water park?
First - park opens bright and early at 9 am, which is the perfect time to get there. There is always plenty of open seating (some in the sand, some VIP) though we never have time to lounge about. Oh, and did I mention that parking is FREE? One of the only parks in Disney that has free parking!
The lazy river is awesome, the "roller coaster" slides are fantastic (though make sure to lift your rear on the ride up and down or you'll be sore later) and MY GOD, THE WAVE POOL! My husband and friends and I could be in that wave pool for hours and never get bored. I'm 30 years old and when I get in that pool I feel like I'm 5 again because all I can do is giggle.
There are plenty of places to eat, drink, rinse off, use the bathroom (plus showers!) and lockers are really inexpensive. There's also a shark tank (a damn cold one) that one can snorkel through to see all sorts of marine life. And it's FREE!
Per person, a season ticket is only about $100. A one day pass is about $46. It's so worth it for us to have a season pass because we've already gone about 10 times and we just got our pass about six months ago. We take all our visitors and friends. It's the perfect way to waste a day whilst getting plenty of vitamin D, enjoying company, and exercising your rear off. -

Wow, really an incredible water park. It's undeniable. If you were to ask my opinion on which water park you should go to in Disney I would say both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. If you're only interested in going to one, I'll let you know what I feel are highlights of both (in 2 separate reviews) and you can decide :)
Lazy river: A key ingredient in any waterpark's success.
Raft rides: Single riders, double riders, and the big family riders where you can fit approximately 5 people depending on how fat they are.
Really badass lagoon theme: The place is decked out to make you feel like you're on a vacation overseas, without the risk of mosquito bites that will kiss larva into you. (Hopefully).
Shark Reef: Swimming with sharks, stingrays, fish in salt water. Lots of rules for this one but well worth a really awesome experience in a relatively safe and monitored environment. (Compared to running out into an open body of water and getting sucked away by a monster jellyfish)
Beach, surf pool (and lessons), tons of stuff for kids (obviously this is a really family friendly park but don't worry truly TONS to do for all ages) you tell me that this doesn't sound like a really awesome day of relaxation and fun. I have some really awesome memories from Typhoon Lagoon including that really unforgettable giant boat on the mountain thing.Listed in: Disney World To Do's

Typhoon Lagoon is an amazing water park!
As you enter this tropical oasis, you feel as if you are no longer in Central Florida, once the view opens up you are presented with a view of one of the world's largest wave pools, and a giant mountain with a boat sitting on top.
The theme of Typhoon Lagoon is that a Hurricane just hit Central Florida and this is the aftermath!
At Typhoon Lagoon you will be able to snorkle with Sharks, spend hours on a lazy river, and ride waves in one of the world's LARGEST wave pools!
I love going there, and I really love wasting a day there! Since they added Crush and Gusher it has gotten a lot more exciting!
If you do go and you are not a Florid resident get cheap tickets to go cause it can be a bit expensive! I get my tickets from http://www.orlandofunt... -

Typhoon Lagoon is okay. I don't really like the snorkeling because they have all these rules and stuff. The wave pool was really nice. My only problem with it is that the life guards are just there to look pretty. I mean, I almost drowned in the water! I was so afraid. The life guards were too high up to even notice (or they weren't paying attention). It's a good thing that I don't panic in those situations. I forced myself to swim through waves until I got to 5ft again.
The reasons why I give this place 4/5, and not 2/5, is because of my one true love...crush and gusher. I LOVE this thing! It's like a water roller coaster. Crush and gusher is the only reason why I'm going back to typhoon lagoon. It's different choices as far as scream factor. All of them are pretty mild to me, but my favorite was Banana Blaster. -

When I visit water parks I tend to compare them to the one and only Wet n' Wild, which is the original water park and really the one to beat. Disney again makes a successful water park in Typhoon Lagoon that is definitely worth the price.
It gets it's name from the massive wave pool, which puts other wave pools to shame. Another great thing about Typhoon Lagoon is the area that enables you to swim with sharks. While the water can feel a little cold, it is definitely a thrilling experience. Typhoon Lagoon has an abundance of water rides and a great atmosphere for all to enjoy. -

We loved this water park & we'll definitely be going back. We've been to Blizzard Beach & they're both great for different reasons. At Typhoon, I especially enjoyed swimming in the shark reef (we went twice) and riding the different Crushin' Gusher slides. My husband also enjoyed body-surfing in the wave pool.
They also let us bring in our own ice chest with our sandwiches, drinks, and snacks- very helpful & cost saving! -

By far one of the best water parks, ever! There is a huge ship in the center of the park, which gives the entire place a theme. Where else can you swim with sharks? The rides here are incredible. I highly recommend this place.

Typhoon Lagoon has some pluses and minuses but it's a much older park compared to BB. The waterslides per my kids are "weak" compared to the height challenging ones at Blizzard Beach. The sand at this fake beach is nicer, softer on the soles and toes, but it's a dirtier beach. At least I saw someone at BB picking up garbage between the crowded cabanas, not here. I got 3 huge insect ankle bites, probably fleas. Itched me to death, still does. The biggest draw is the typhoon lagoon. The water gets up to 10 ft deep but they rope that area off. You can swim out to around 7-8 ft and tread water until the boom sound and like Pavlov's dogs, the crowds scream in anticipation and then the wave is released. It's quite powerful and strong enough for some folks to hit it just right and body surf in about 20-30 ft. But there's so many people there that you can get slammed by the bobbleheads in the water. Heck, you get tossed around just sitting in 3 ft of water when the wave hits you. And if you stand at the end, near the breakers (by the kiddie slide) a big wave slams up and douses you. I laughed watching these 2 guys standing there just waiting for that to happen, clinging onto the fence for dear life.
I favor floating down the river and this is a longer one with unlimited (seemingly so) tubes. -

The kids loved the wave pool especially the 6ft wave that would be pop up every 90 seconds. Snorkeling with the sharks and fish was pretty cool. We were really surprised Disney does not charge extra for it. Parking was free and you are allowed to bring your own cooler with food into the park. The kiddie area was fun for the kids. The older kids rode the Crushing Gusher twice. Lazy River was really long and you can use it to get to your desired stop (ie kiddie area, rides, etc.)
