Maybe I was expecting too much? I returned after much anticipation, with two friends who never dined here before. You know how it is when you bring someone to a place you haven't shut up about in a couple months... they were supposed to have been blown away.

Well, the bread and basalmic/chili oil was delic. The purple rain cocktail was amazing (I squeezed my lime this time and it made all the difference), the appetizers were yummy, and the dessert was fabulous. The only thing is, our entrees--all of them--were mediocre.

Let me start from the beginning: the tuna tartar, which I had been craving since my last visit, was just as awesome. Unfortunately, I had to share it with three other people so only got a single piece. The salmon chips were decent, but I would not order them again. My friends seemed to enjoy those more than I did. We also got a cheese plate, which was interesting but only one cheese and the pineapple jelly were worth the expense.

The entrees were underwhelming at best. My mahi mahi was underseasoned but the rice upon which it sat was overly salty and tasted akin to boxed spanish rice, only with a little bit of lobster stock drizzled on top. The swiss chard in the rice was good but not stellar. The only great thing on my plate was the two pieces of shrimp... too bad only two pieces.

Two of my friends ordered a steak, which I thought was tough and blah. The other girl got duck. It was def the best entree, although I thought a little overcooked (to Two's credit, she ordered it medium well... don't ask me why!). The flavor was great in the duck as were the sweet potatoes it came with.

The dessert was really tasty--nutella and chocolate bread pudding with white russian ice cream. Delic!!! We also got a peach cobbler and the pistachio ice cream sandwiches. The bread pudding was the winner, although the ice cream sandwiches were tasty as well. Their homemade ice creams were quite excellent.

All in all, I was disappointed with the entrees. If I return, which is doubtful anytime soon, I will likely just get drinks, apps, and dessert and skip the entrees. The service was great and it's always great to see the view and the kitchen with the rotisserie.

OMG...PERFECTION! This place is literally tucked behind industrial building with an itty bitty sign by the street...so keep an eye out if it's your first time. I love how they converted an industrial building into this chic restaurant. Event the valet entrance is smart.

Ambiance...flawless. Moody, chic, urban, modern! Love love love everything about it. Cleverly planned, attention to detail was in play. They had this clear tall "garage" door like contraption open towards the back of the building to let a soft breeze in.

Food...DELICIOUS! I ordered the bronzed scallops with gouda grits. The balance between the tangy grits, sweet scallops and spicy tomato sauce was perfection! Scallops were cooked perfectly and the grits was HEAVEN!

Cocktails...strong. I had the Basil Lime with Vodka...holy hell...SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!

I seriousely wanted to order everything on the menu (which changes daily) and what do they do with the previouse menu? they rool it up and turn it into luminaries for votive candles. Clever!

I've been to Two Urban Licks several times and for some reason had never remembered or been impressed enough to write a review.  Well, unfortunately for them, they made a big impression this last visit.  A really bad one.

We went on a Friday evening--a group of 5 for a bachelorette party that had been booked a month in advance.  First, the valets got us off on the wrong foot.  We pulled up to the entrance and parked...oh wait, suddenly 6 valets are screaming at us to pull further forward.  Note: there were no other cars behind us, it was not busy and well, they moved us up maybe 3 feet.

Then the hostess was very rude as we were checking in.  We were told to wait at the bar and waited probably a good 30 minutes beyond our reservation time.

Finally we were seated and our waiter was pretty friendly.  We ordered 2 appetizers and 5 entrees.  All of which came out at the same time.  That's right...the appetizers were served at the same time and wait...we didn't have silverware or napkins.  When we asked for these items, we were still shorted a napkin.  We returned the cheese tray and kept the calamari app.

Our meals were tasty, but during dinner one of our guests began feeling ill and ended up going home before dinner was over.  Later in the evening I ended up throwing up as well (and I never get sick).

Finally, the girl who had made the reservation asked to speak to the manager who told us to email him and he would "take care of  us" on our next visit.  When we received the check, we were still charged for the late appetizer and nothing was reduced or comped.

Since our driver had gotten sick, we asked the valet to call us a cab.  We waited and waited...out in the cold.  Finally I spoke to a 2nd valet and guess what, there was a cab already sitting in the parking lot!  He waved him over immediately--leading me to believe that valet #1 had done nothing about our request.

So, all in all our entire party was appalled by the service we received and vowed never to go back to one of our favorite restaurants.  Check my reviews--I'm not sure I've ever given anyone 1 Star before, so you know it must have been pretty awful.

Appetizers:

Salmon Chips: Finally not too salty, I think they fixed the capers.
Calamari: Smaller plate, but great sauce that was sweet and tangy.
Salad: Same (cranberry, walnut)

Main:
Tuna: Where did the Tuna Steak go?
Beef Ribs: Needs a sauce.
Scallops: Perfect
Burger: Huge, and delicious.
Duck: Tasty.

Overall the wait staff makes the experience fun and the atmosphere is great. That is why I find myself returning.

MMMMM Two urban licks is freaking amazeballs!

Every time I go to Georgia, it's my first stop off the plane. My best friend and I are obsessed with their Thai tuna tartar appetizer. The use of sriratcha aioli, avocado and mango are the perfect balance for the raw fish.

I have never been disappointed with their bar. The bartender makes a mean drink with one of their infused vodka's. The pan seared monk fish is a delicious entree, it's also served with the only polenta I have ever liked. We love their trio of mini cupcakes as a desert (although I am not much for deserts, these are delicious). I just noticed that they have carrot cake on the list, and I will be trying it the next time I am in town.

The restaurant is gorgeous. There is an outside deck that I have never been able to sit on because it's always so freaking cold every time I'm there. The live music, laid back atmosphere, and great company make this a MUST stop when I am in Atlanta.

The beets with blue cheese are awesome, the cucumber infused vodka is phenomenal, and there are no words of praise high enough to describe the beef ribs.

And the prices are super reasonable.

When I or my coworkers travel to the ATL, this is one of the must-go places.

I recommend the tuna appetizer, steak and mash entree, and yummy trio of cupcakes dessert!

I love the ambiance of Two Urban Licks.  It has a great view of the city and I enjoy the industrial look in the warehouse.  It really is one of those restaurants to take friends from out of town to because although the food can be rather "meh" most people will like the look and feel of the bustling restaurant.

I enjoy infused vodka and love the way they look hanging over the bar but I do have to say I think their drinks are VERY overpriced albeit strong.  The food is very hit or miss.  Overall, I'd never go here and say this is the best thing I've ever eaten.  However, the salmon chips are tasty and have a good kick to them and the scallops I had last timewere cooked well but the grits they were on top of were really the highlight of the meal.

Overall, great place to take out-of-town guests and fun ambiance, but not the best meal you've had in Atlanta.

There is something about this place that I just love. It's best to go at sunset because it really shines at night. It is a comfortable and trendy atmosphere where you can dress up or down, and not feel out of place. There is constant action with the kitchen being in the center. Live music adds to the chill ambiance and the bocce ball court outside was a fun way to wind down at the end of the night. I think it gives out of town guests a great feel for what Atlanta is truly like.

The infused liquors are amazing. I don't usually drink liquor, but the hot pepper tequila was irresistible. Calamari is a must for an appetizer, as well as the empanadas. The bistro steak is always one of my favorites, although sometimes they switch it up a little too much for my taste. Scallops are also delicious. There is no comparison when it comes to the Big A$$ Burger. It's the best deal for the money. I usually eat half of this tasty dish and enjoy the rest at home. Last, but certainly not least is the bread...Yum. The hot pepper infused oil is the perfect dip for the fresh bread.

Service has always been wonderful. Whenever we have someone from out of town visiting, we head up our street to Two.

Being from out of town, I thought the driver was taking us to the wrong part of town - Two Urban Licks is a swanky restaurant but located in a warehouse?! weird.

The salmon chips are over-rated, tasted fishy in my opinion.  Try the calamari instead.

I'd say that everything is really well paired - with a unique twist, of course.  Something out of top-chef but more refined - their ingredients are unique but paired well with "normal" every-day foods.

don't skip out on the dessert either!

This place is great! The atmosphere is different and they are very accommodating for large parties.

The lamb lollipops and salmon chips are a must try...but so are the brisket empanadas.

The drinks here are fantastic. They also have amazing cocktails which are infused with all sorts of things. This place is fun and lively and the food is great!

I gotta tell ya.. I heard really great things about this place. Unfortunately, my experience was less than "meh."

First, I felt like I was going into the mafia pits trying to find this WEIRD location in the back of a dark building.  The location would make for a better haunted house.

After reading other reviews and combining it with our experience, I don't think that 2UL really wants groups over 4 people.  We made a reservation for 9, still waited 45 minutes to be seated, then couldn't hear the server over all the noise.  The menu was confusing, which made it frustrating to ask questions over the noise.  5 in our group were served first, ten minutes later 3 more came out, and I was left with nothing in front of me.  Everyone was looking at me for permission to eat.  Of course... EAT!  Some had 10 minute old seared tuna. Gross!

So I had to practically grab our spinning server to tell her to just not bring me my meal.  She turned into a parrot: "It's beyond my control" "I'll get the manager" "I'm doing everything I can" (bwak!) when I just wanted her to cancel my order.  Still, even after telling the manager I wasn't upset... I just wasn't interested in eating 20 minutes later than the rest of my party,  they brought it anyway.  I refused the meal twice.

The place was noisy, the valet was a disaster -crammed with confused people, and there were shouting, manically angry people in the parking lot.  Apparently they didn't use the valet and got booted in a parking lot on the front of the building. WOW...we almost parked there too!  There's no sign saying you can't park there that we saw.

Overall, it was horrible.  We noticed other groups larger than ours crammed into smaller tables.  Obviously I would NOT recommend this place. As a local, I've talked to several other people about it who have had similar experiences.  The only people that seem to love 2UL is visitors.  I say, "They can have it."

Went there for a friend's birthday party and had a fairly rotten experience for the cost of the restaurant. The place is so loud with echoing music and noise that you can barely talk with the person you're siting right next too.

As bubbly as our server was, she was hardly around and missed noticing that out of a group of 9 that only 5 people received their food. By the time we were able to find her and got the rest of the food, the other food had cooled.

The manager did make up for it with providing us with desserts, but by that point our experience at a 'high-end quality' restaurant for a birthday party was ruined.

The food in general is really good but considering the cost, it was severely tainted by incredibly crappy service and atmosphere.

The only way I'd eat there again is if it was for take out and even then it may not be worth it. Way too many better food and experiences at other Atlanta restaurants.

We did notice on our way out that there were a lot of people having an argument in a parking lot near the restaurant. After doing some reading, found out that some cars seem to have been booted because people parked in a nearby parking lot that could be mistake for restaurant parking. Must use valet.

Really? I'm amazed that this place gets anything over 2 stars. I suppose they have to be for the design. Certainly not for the food or service.

I went here to celebrate a friends birthday dinner tonight and was expecting a nice scene where we could enjoy some music and do some people watching. I was not going for the food because I've eaten here before and have never been impressed. Well tonight sealed that deal. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table and there was not one that I considered edible. Tuna tartare with corn and  some type of chili aioli sauce was sweet and not worth finishing. Calamari was small and drenched in another sweet syrupy sauce reminiscent of the Polynesian sauce they give you at Chick-fil-A.

It was enough to make me realize any money spent on an entree would be money wasted. Trust me, that was a good call.

If that wasn't enough the service was horrible. Rude waitress who brought my friends cake out in the box it came in, no cake server, no asking us if we wanted coffee/ice cream. She brought the plates to the table in a stack with a handful of spoons and before we could even ask her anything was gone. Before we even were able to serve the cake (oh yes, we did that ourselves) she was bringing the checks to the table. We weren't finished! I told her she should probably ask if we wanted anything else before she closed out our bills since we hadn't had coffee or any after dinner drinks.

We sat in the front patio area by the entrance against the wall and noticed that (since we weren't eating and spent most of our time trying to catch our non-existent waitress) the benches were covered with dust and cobwebs just above out head. I mean really, people - it's called a cleaning company and a Swiffer - invest in it.

Not only that invest in some training of your staff and slow down the service. That means not clearing the table while people are still eating and certainly not bringing the check before it's asked for.

I couldn't believe that it was so packed. There are MUCH better restaurants in Atlanta. At least for people who go out to dinner for the food.

I wish there were more restaurants as creative and scene creating as 2 Urban in ATL.

I've dined here more than 10 times now and have never had a bad dish.  The appetizers are always creative, from the lamb lollipops to the Salmon Chips, and whatever they come up with, it's always been delicious and what I look for more than the actual entrees.

The entrees, especially the pork shoulder was one of my favorites along with the Shrimp but I think both have been taken off the menu.

The drinks are on par with most other Concentric restaurant group offerings but nothing Wowed me.

The interior decor is great, with the combination of the open air entry to the industrial dining area and it's open kitchen/bbq in the middle of the restaurant, this is what makes me keep taking out of town guests every time.

My overall rating are as follows:

Factor                 Weighting      Stars
Alcohol               10%                3 Stars
Service               15%                3 Stars

Food                   50%                4 Stars

Going here i had already put in my mind id be spending a large amount of money for what would equal to an average meal. in preparation to stay under $100 i brought my own bottle of $10 Galliano 2008 Italian Wine. Id say I did well for my first visit there.

We went there for a fabulous friend's birthday with an expected party of 18. This was on a saturday night so the place was completely packed to full capacity with people waiting. She had made a reservation yet the table was not ready. We wait another 30 mins, still waiting and now they ask where the missing 3 people are. they were on their way. Not good enough for the fufu hostess. So we say 15 people is fine and we'll make arrangements for the late party. The 4 bathrooms here are unisex and single serving, which caused lines and confusion. We see that a handful of our party members have moved to the bar where they begin  their purchase of highly overpriced $12 glasses of wine, unaware of their impending bill. We're seated 15 mins later and our fabulous birthday girl is less than happy. The seating arrangement was fine for our party, a long stretch down a half booth half chair seating.

We began by getting our wine swiftly out and enjoying it. 1.5 Liters of our wine for the same price as a single glass of theirs? We've won that battle, now to begin the feast. We started with Salmon Chips and Calamari. Salmon chips came in a nice wooden boat tray and held 4 of them. A Little spicy and not bad for an appetizer. The calamari was pretty good with both sweet icing on the top and sour mix at the bottom. The serving size was very small and only enough for one person. My experience with the squid app is that everyone can snack on them until dinner is ready, with plates large enough to feed everyone. Here you get an appetizer suited for only a single person.

The menu arrives and we all try something different. I like the name so i order the Big Ass Burger, my friend the chicken, and my roommate the Ribs. Starting with mine I was very disappointed. For a Big ASS burger i was expecting way more meat on this thing, something similar to good ol cheeseburger Cheeseburgers famous 1 lb burger. This was maybe a quarter pound unless you count the almost loaf size bun it came on. The mat was also pretty bland and without condiments I couldn't finish this thing. Only three onion rings came with this but at least they were stacked to look nice. The chicken was chicken, can't say much about it other than it "tastes like chicken". Ribs were small and pretty average tasting despite its $24 price. For that price you might as well get a whole rack somewhere else. We didnt get any shots or pay for drinks so bringing our own was a really good idea, it was actually pretty scary seeing the expressions on the other guests who didn't realize until it was too
late that they had spent over $100 on wine and weren't even tipsy yet.

In closing my party managed to hit the total of just under $100 but its mostly because we brought our own alcohol. The decor is breathtaking with giant red lamps and a kitchen grill in the center of the place encased by a large glass. Its hustle and bustle and while the waiters are wearing what seems like sports bar "Two" shirts, they manners and politeness was very cool. If you don't mind the price and want to pretend the food tastes as good as it costs, and look absolutely fabulous while eating it, this is the place for you!

Fantastic Space! Very Clever! Love the Valet situation! Love the Bocci Ball Court in the back. The kitchen in the middle of this huge warehouse space and completely open for all to see is the "piece de resistance" Very well designed, could use stronger fans to remove the smoke! The place screams romantic, sexy vibe.

Thai Tuna, Empanadas, and Fried Oysters appetizers all delicious.  Beef Rib, Prime Rib and Bistro Steak all very flavorful and seasoned just right.

Cup Cake dessert was interesting........

I'll definitely be back and cannot wait to try the other restaurants in the company.

Just like Mitra in midtown, TWO Urban Licks was the best of Midtown Restaurant Week for me this year!

The consistency was the key here; the appetizers (fried chicken thighs and calamari) were delicious, the entrees were HUGE and so amazing (beef rib with mac n cheese, rotisserie half-chicken, and bistro steak), and the desserts were delectable (molten lava cake w/ ice cream and peach cobbler w/ ice cream)!  They also have the best bread at this restaurant that I've had in a looong time!

Highly Recommended!

Reminiscent of Mike's American Grill from Springfield, VA, Two Urban Licks is a place that when you see the exterior, you'll wonder if you're going to a techno rave...walk in and it's a huge old-style factory converted into one of the most awesome restaurants I've ever been too.

The food is great, and the prices are outstanding as well.  The Jerk chicken features jerk spices acquired directly from Jamaica, and the prime rib is by far the best tasting prime rib or steak I've ever had in my life.

If you're into appetizers, you HAVE to order the Salmon Chips.  It would be good enough to order two orders of Salmon Chips and eat them as a meal, too.  They are OUTSTANDING.  And the calamari is the best I've ever had as well.

Definitely check it out.  5 stars, great restaurant, and make sure you sample their fusion drinks that have at least 3 types of liquor each and marinate for over 24 hours before serving! ;-)

Where to begin with this place... I went to this location after vising One Midtown and to enjoy their Restaurant Week for their group of locations. While the Restaurant Week items were beyond limited, the overall experience was great. This old place used to be a bell south building.

From arrival, very cool feel, packed on a Friday night, valet was quick and easy. Made reservation on OpenTable, arrived 20 minutes late but quickly seated with no problem.

The appetizer salad was flavorful, complimented well with the apricot dressing. The steak was cooked to perfection over potatoes. The dessert was just the right bite size, with one amazing kick in each bite of the little chocolate cakes. I could feel the heat shortly after, but very tasty!

Our waitress was all over our table, and I had a great experience.

I ventured back to Two after a long dry stint.  Two is best when you have a group of people to enjoy drinks, dinner, and catch-up.  My recent experience here was a rather good one.  We started out with the crawfish spring rolls and shaved calamari.  Both were delicious apps to share amongst two hungry girls.  For entrees, we selected the bronzed scallops and tuna to share.  I ordered the tuna more on the rare side than on the medium-rare side.  It came out just the way I wanted.  The tuna accompaniments were excellent: edamame cous-cous,  almonds, and an avocado dressing.  The scallops were very tender and practically melted in your mouth, just what a great scallop should do!

My only problem with this experience was that we were seated in the front atrium corner.  It felt like a sauna.  They had placed floor fans throughout the area to cool down the patrons.  That's something they should look into.

I had family in town, visiting from Idaho and thought they would enjoy dinner at Two Urban Licks. The place has pizazz and can be impressive to visiting small-town folks like mine. In terms of the experience, Two definitely delivered.

Our server Billy was hilarious, working hard in both selling us items on the menu and in entertaining us with funny comments and witty comebacks. But my dad wasn't about to be out-shined -- he's a wanna-be comedian himself. When Billy mentioned to us that Two Urban Licks is the "busiest restaurant in the Southeast," my father replied, "Busier than McDonald's?" The look on Billy's face was priceless. You could see the cogs turning..."Did this man just compare us to McD's??" HA HA

The food was pretty damn good too. We shared two appetizers, the salmon chips and the smoked brisket empanadas. Then we all ordered a different entree. I went with the bistro steak with whipped potatoes and this poblano pepper, corn and mushroom mixture that was quite tasty. This cut of meat can get tough, but cooked medium-rare and eaten in smaller bites, its not too chewy. Other entrees at our table included the seared tuna, halibut, braised pork, and the nightly special at the time which was this giant, spit-roasted New York strip that was fantastic.

I guess I know where I got my ability to be a food vacuum. We all snarfed the food down like it was air. I guess food vacuum-ness runs in the family. And what better way to please food vacuums than to order dessert. Carrot cake and the Nutella white chocolate bread pudding. The bread pudding was warm, comforting, and delicious. And the carrot cake was a huge slice, tasty with cream cheese frosting. Both were served with a scoop of ice cream.

All in all, dinner at Two was a great evening for my family and I'm sure it'll be remembered as a highlight of their visit to Atlanta.

I'd been researching somewhere special to go with mister manfriend while visiting him in Atlanta this past weekend. After perusing online menus for about a day and a half I settled on Two Urban Licks.  After reading reviews on yelp, however, I was a bit hesitant due to the complaints of how loud it gets and how hard it is to find. I am very happy to say that this was the absolute perfect place for 2 kids in lovey love to go on a Saturday night.

We walked into Two Urban Licks and yes it was loud, but man was it cool.  The kitchen is in the center of the restaurant with the tables surrounding it. I think that may add to some of the loudness. We were seated outside on the patio & our server came over pretty quickly.  He gave us a 10 minute explanation of the food, the wine, and how his dad was a dentist in the army & loved it. Weird, I know. Anyway, we started with the tuna tartar & brisket empanadas. I wasn't the biggest fan of the tuna tartar app because it had a very creamy sauce on top & I'm not into mayo/creamy sauces. The empanada was delicious & the brisket was so perfectly tender & tasty. I ate it up like it was going outta style. We then ordered an apple & pulled pork over goat cheese ravioli appetizer, a salad with plantain chips on top, and the bistro steak to split.

The pulled pork/apple appetizer was really good. It was an interesting combination of flavors and textures. I thought the goat cheese was a bit too powerful, but the cooked apple & pulled pork made up for it. Seriously, it was divine. The salad was really good & had a lemon dressing. The dressing was definitely homemade and really refreshing. The steak had a chimichurri sauce on top with mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes underneath. It was honestly the most tasty & tender piece of steak I've had in a looooong time (sorry dad!).  Our waiter was very good about bringing out the dishes, but not rushing us after delivering the food. In fact if I wouldn't have been with mister manfriend I probably would have gotten a bit annoyed by his absence. We then decided on a dessert....a fancy banana split.

The bananas had been cooked with brandy, so they were very rich & yummy. The came out on a bed of peanut brownies & topped with homemade whipped cream & three different flavored sorbets. The only problem at this point was that it had gotten very dark outside & 4 tiki torches are not enough light for the entire patio. I was having a very hard time reading the dessert menu, the bill, etc. I felt like it was that moment when you're 40 & realize you can no longer see the small print on menus. Kind of like living in a nightmare for a few minutes-scary!

Anyway, after all this food, three 24 ounce cans of Coors Light (classy, I know), and a dessert wine our bill was.....$93.00. Yep, that's it. I love the south except for all the republicans. If I ever go back to Atlanta I am definitely hitting up this spot & if anyone else is heading to Atlanta, please check it out. It's really unbelievable.

I've been here twice and both times were just fantastic.  While it can be really crowded and getting a table can take some time (even with a reservation), I didn't mind.  The atmosphere is interesting and exciting.  The live music is great!

Two words:  Salmon Chips.  Get them.  Eat them.  Sit in awe at how utterly amazing they are.  I jokingly asked the waiter if I could get them to pack a tub of this stuff for me to take home.  I'd go there just for these things.

We also had the cheese platter (great with the right wine), enchiladas, and some other plates that I honestly don't remember.  The short ribs are pretty damn great as well.

Everything I've eaten there and everything my friends have eaten there has been delicious.

always always always love Two!

Came for dinner for a bachelorette(?) dinner and everyone had quite a nice time.  The Hurricane is always my fave drink!  i tried the Purple Rain drink...if you like lavender and thyme, you'll love it, if not...don't try Purple Rain unless its on T.V.

Now I must say, i'm very sad that the lamb lollipops were NOT on the menu :-(  however, the empanadas were SO GOOD! mmmm.

can't wait to go back and eat more stuff.

I must say that I have to disagree with all the hype. Yelpers had me thinking this was "the go to restaurant" however I don't think I would ever take anyone there again! It was not all what I had imagined or dreamed about for the last "year" or so. Of course I made reservations through open table and made sure I had the directions since people said it was a lil hard to find. We got there at 9 and they informed us that we would have to wait about 30-45 min. Now here's the part that I think is very "ghetto". They ask you your cell phone number and tell you to put it on vibrate so they can let you know when your table is ready. I mean the restaurant is very noisy so you can't hear anything. We are in 2010, most restaurants hand you a buzzer. I think they should invest in those. Another thing that bothered me which I noticed while i was cramped in the bar area waiting 45min was the ugly bartender's shirts!!!!! EWWWW! not classy...not sexy.....they just looked really trashy to me. Those shirts really haunted me once I left the restaurant. Next thing i must discuss is the food. Now they are suppose to be known for having the best food. Keep in mind I did my research before going so I would know what to order. Salmon chips were amazing but the jerk chicken was wayyyyy to spicy and not that good and the steak was tasteless...ugh. I won't be going back again. its not worth the money at all. Two is known for their atmosphere, food, and trendy people......I didn't experience any of that.  I'll stick with One.

one star is horrible, but it's the star for the nice bar, and the killer space. The patio also has a great view of downtown.

The other lack of stars is for our horrible service. I would expect better service than our group received, and such a situation leaves a bad taste in your mouth that can cloud your meal.

They make the regular wine menu hard to find, i.e. never told us, and our waitress tried to guilt a table of 10 into buying five bottles of $65 wine instead of telling us about the other wine menu with NORMAL priced wines. She was so adamant that she brought over the sommelier to try and convince us. For god sakes, we just wanted house red so we didn't end up paying $100 pp for dinner.
If you go, realize that there are two wine menus, one $$$$, one normal (yet still overpriced for house wines). The food was 'meh' but you go here for the atmosphere. I had a good seared tuna but it was on a bed of cold noodles. Did not mesh.
Atlanta has so many other (better) restaurants!

This place is wonderful!  It took a few U-turns to find this place, since it is in an unsightly location.  To my surprise, they have converted a giant warehouse into a restaurant, and a beautiful one at that.  I really enjoyed the atmosphere, however my only downfall was the heat.  I'm not sure if it was the fact that we were in a warehouse or because it was crowded.  On a different note, the food was absolutely delicious.  I would highly recommend the salmon chips appetizer.  I ordered the chicken entree, and it was also very tasty.

A local foodie gave us this EXCELLENT recommendation!

Ratings - Building-4.5 stars, Restaurant interior impact 5 stars, Food presentation - 5 stars, Food quality and preparedness - 5 stars, Wine selection and flexibility - 5 stars, Service - 5 stars (Amy!)

Details - Warehouse setting, lively, great ambiance for visiting with good friends after a long day or beginning the weekend.  Our server, Amy was on the money with recommendations.

Ordered - Salmon Chips & Lamb Flat Bread as appetizers - loved the Salmon Chips served on a narrow long wooden plank - I think there were 5 or 6 chips loaded generous heaps of salmon on each!
The spring salad was light enough to cleanse the palate for the excellent entrees we had.   You MUST have someone order the Bronzed Scallops - Huge scallops with gouda grits in a smoked tomato broth with dice tomatoes....be sure to get a taste of scallops with the grits....best I've had.
The Bistro Steak was also very good, if you like you meat cooked more than rare, you better tell them or order the Brisket which also looked very good.

I really liked the way they serve their wines, you get around 50 choices of white and reds and they are served straight from the barrels.  So, here's the deal, you can order 1/2 glass (3 oz), 6 oz, 9 oz, 16 oz or 32 oz hence allowing you to create fun pairings for each dish you order - the reds are priced from $4 to $60 and the whites from $3 - $50 - A VERY CLEVER CONCEPT!

Desserts - try the spicy molten chocolate lava cake, cupcakes & ice cream or the nutella white chocolate bread pudding with white russian ice cream.

Bathrooms are individual unisex.

I have heard so much about this place. So much, The noise was getting deafening. Even from my married coworkers who felt the need to show off that they had one-upped the single girl. So on Saturday night, I decided to give it a try.

Sadly, it was not that great.

Okay, the good. The interior decor is fabulous. They need to constantly thank whoever did it for them because they owe a lot to that person.

They have complimentary valet. You know I love that. Please don't make me drive around forever trying to figure out where to park.

The food, I only tried the calamari - which was a nice spin on calamari with the sweet and spicy sauce, and the fish tacos, which I never eat, was really good.

The band they had that night was some kind of rhythm and bluegrass band. Really good. I didn't expect them to be good, but they were.

The bad.

The ladies bartending at the bar especially the tatted up one, who thought multiple tatts gave her the right to be rude and dismissive, they were awful, snooty and just plain disinterested. If someone visits your restaurant and happens to sit at the bar, what do you say, "Hi, can I get you something to drink, have you been here before, this is what we have that's good, I recommend this, just in case, etc." It's proper bar etiquette and whoever is the manager needs to train them this way.

You don't just shove a menu in front of the guests face and then go on attending to a couple who arrived after I did. I hate to pull the single card but that's what it was. Some folks just cannot handle the single diner and they have no other recourse but to hate. They seem to forget that I am a paying customer. The rave reviews have gone to their head and they don't want to work hard anymore to earn your business.

The other bad. The prices. Calamari - $10. I don't care what kind of sauce you have if the calamari cannot feed two people, it should not cost as much as a whole meal. There was no single entree less than $15 - that is not good. It's a  restaurant for the recession proof people, I suppose.

Overall, I won't be going back anytime soon, particularly not by myself, and if I do, I'll get a reservation and seat at a nice table instead of the crusty bar-tops and deal with those uncouth bartenders.

Maybe my rating is based on the fact that this was the place me and the BF went to on our first date. So I guess it has fond memories for me. :)

However the food was good, especially the calamri -it's to die for! - but the best part was the decor!  It is an amazingly beautiful place with a stunning view looking out over the city.   I think we spent at least half an hour discussing the interior design and artwork.

It was the first time I've frequented a spot with a live band, and altho I didn't care for the music that they played, it was really cool and has made me more interested in live bands.

It is expensive so it's not a place where I'd go on a regular basis. But it is a really cool, hip spot where I didn't feel out of place which I usually do at most of Atlanta's so-called "trendy" venues.

Two words: Salmon Chips...

I visited last night to meet up with some college friends that were in town for the weekend. I must admit that even though I've lived here for almost a year, I still haven't ventured to some of the ATL's landmarks, including this place. I LOVED it. From the decor reminiscent of the warehouse that occupied this space in a past life to the house drinks that hung from containers suspended from the ceiling, ready to flow through the attached hoses to wet your whistle at a moment's notice.

I'll be back for you, Two Urban Licks. Just you wait...

ITS HIP, KINDA KINKY, ITS WAY COOL, IT MUST BE TWO URBAN LICKS

Upon arriving at this renovated warehouse off of Ralph McGill near where Jane Fonda lives, one pulls up on a former loading dock to leave their ride and walk into the playful surroundings of Two urban licks. Two of ATL's most influential restaurateurs, Bob Amick and Todd Rushing opened Two urban licks in 2004 as a follow-up restaurant to One.midtown kitchen. At the helm of Two urban licks is the home grown Executive Chef, Cameron Thompson, who learned his fiery American cooking talents from fellow "Buckhead Lifers" Kevin Rathbun (Rathbun's, Krog Bar), Hilary White (the Hil), and Scott Serpas (Serpas True Food).

When one walks into this swank dining place, they are grabbed by the sounds of live blues, spirited chatter, and the smell of sizzling spices. Our waitress and tour guide for the evening was Janice Rice. She started our engines with a carafe (thief) of Andrew Geoffrey's Cabernet Franc from the one of a kind "Wine Wall" which holds 42 barrels, yes barrels, of wine from California. The rich dark cherry, cedar aromas with bold flavors of dark chocolate, pepper, and plums proved to be the perfect match for Cameron's creations. In addition to the unique wine program is the fruit infused cocktails hanging above the bar. Try the appealing Sergeant Pepper Margarita- WOW!!! And you'll sing a song and not sing out of key....

The outrageous small plates are meant to be shared, so try several. The crowd's favorite is the Salmon Chips- smoked salmon with chipotle-spiked cream cheese over homemade potato chips. My fav, the Thai Tuna Tartare- on a fried wonton chip is an avocado puree mixed with diced blue-fin tuna, lime, mango, and a classic aioli that is spiced up with sriracha- get it and you will understand. For meat lovers, there are the incredible Lamb Lollipops with a black grape chili jam, and the lip smacking slow cooked Baby Back Ribs dressed with a spicy, not hot, cider bbq sauce with a side of tangy apple coleslaw. The outstanding Shaved Calamari made with an Indonesian style sambal syrup, or the plump Flash Fried Oysters with Creole mustard-tartar, are not to be missed- both are yummy!!!

As Janice was delivering our entrees, it was fun to watch the organized chaos of the open kitchen with its 14-foot wood pit rotisserie tower, but then I noticed an amazing view of Atlanta's skyline lit against the darkness of the night. Too bad it wasn't warmer outside to take advantage of the outdoor dining. OK back to the food... The succulent trio of enormous Scallops sat on top of a bed of Logan Turnpike gouda grits, and the Tanglewood Farm Duck Breast with the cayenne sweet potato puree, were to die for. Get a side order of the creamy, garlicky Collard Greens and the NY style Mac 'n' Cheese. Also, the American Shrimp was prepared in a classic low country style with house-made Andouille sausage, mussels, corn on the cob, okra, and potatoes in a nice "Nawlins" citrus broth that is dipping good...
So what's Two urban licks??? It's an intown oasis that provides an escape into the evening with others who seek a good time. To sink into the soft booth seating with lots of pillows, dine on food that screams flavor, sip delicious wines, and share laughter with friends are simply the perfect ingredients to a fun-filled outing. Hope to see you at the Licks...

My mom took me here to eat and we used the Valet parking service that was convenient because there is limited parking.  They have a huge duck oven its really big.  Kind of hard to explain but its cool.   You can watch them cook while you eat. lol.  They also have these really huge paintings on the walls which are nice to look at.  They have gourmet chefs and the food is fantastic.  Be sure to make reservations because it was really crowded on the day we went.

I've been tons. To drink, to eat and to eat and drink too. Very cool space especially if you can score a spot on the patio'ish area when they open the garage doors. You know in the 1.2 seconds of nice spring/not too hot weather that we have here in Atlanta and all.

Their menu changes seasonally and I've not ever had bad food here. At one point I was completely addicted to their fried oyster app. Oysters+Fried=what's not to love

They can get UBER loud and busy so I'd suggest going during the week if you like to shy away from those sorts of things. I like the wine lists and the drinks are always very good and strong.
