So, I guess I've been living under a rock, because up until about a 2 days ago, I've never heard of this magical place called two urban licks. I was blown away by everything, from the amazing painting that spans up to the 30 ft ceilings to the awesome view from the back. Two Urban licks earned their 4 stars. I had a traditional meal.... Cheeseburger with onion rings, only the burger and onion rings came in a colossal size. I kind of like having to find this place hidden back off the beaten path. Great atmosphere and the bartender that night hand a heavy hand. Kudos. good job.

Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have returned to TWO urban licks so soon after my initial visit.  After all, it was a fairly expensive dining experience, and there are so many other places in Atlanta that I'd like to try.  However, my parents were in the city for a meal, and they'd been hearing about the place for a long time and wanted to give it a go (and they were paying).  Plus, since TUL is located right across from my building, it's an enticing choice when you don't want to deal with driving and parking.

The atmosphere felt very different on a Monday at 7 PM than it did on a Saturday at 9 PM (duh).  I mean, the décor was obviously the same, but the light hit things differently and made it seem a lot less hip.  In fact, my dad even said he was expecting the space to be more "shi-shi.".

For appetizers, my parents chose the empanadas and calamari.  This time, instead of oxtail, the empanadas were filled with shortribs.  Also, I asked for the crumbled queso on the side, since I remembered it overpowering the dish.  The shortribs seemed a little less flavorful than the oxtail, but the meat was every bit as tender.  Also, the smaller amount of cheese let us really taste the crust and the chipotle sauce, which was definitely a good thing.  The calamari were, again, cooked perfectly and spiced nicely.  I love that dish's balance between spicy and sweet.

For entrees, mom went for the bronzed scallops with Gouda grits and smoked tomato broth.  The dish once again got a wonderful review.  Perfectly cooked scallops and creamy cheese grits?  How can you go wrong?!  Dad got the  Maple Leaf Farms duck breast, which was stuffed with italian sausage and served with cayenne sweet potato puree and ancho BBQ jus.  By far the best dish of the night, the flavors and textures were just amazing, even though the duck itself was just a touch overcooked.  I went for the wahoo with summer squash and sunchokes; it was light and tasty, but the fish was a little dry.

Our server was friendly, engaging, non-intrusive, non-awkward, and just generally a fun and interesting human being.  He made great recommendations and chatted with us about other restaurants we've enjoyed (notably, The French Laundry, where my parents just dined last month).  He talked about his travel to Asia.  We debated about food blogging and molecular gastronomy and whether or not cupcakes have jumped the shark (they have).  I will certainly ask for him when I return.

For dessert. Mom got the chocolate mousse rice crispy treat, and she really loved the chocolate malt ice cream.  Dad got the bread pudding and said it was good but not great.  I got the cupcake plate (previous conversation with the waiter be damned), which had three varieties: chocolate on chocolate, carrot cake and cream cheese icing, and banana caramel with (I think) lemon icing.  The chocolate treat went right in the doggie bag for later, and I don't really dig on carrot cake, so that one went to my parents and they reported that it was one of the best versions of carrot cake they'd ever had.  The banana lemon cupcake was incredibly moist and delicately flavored, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.  The brown sugar ice cream that accompanied the cakes was absolutely amazing.

So, another very nice meal at TWO.  I don't know why people love to hate this place-it's tasty food in an interesting atmosphere with (in my experience, anyway) attentive service.  It's not necessarily a dining revelation, and it definitely has small flaws that keep it out of the foodie upper echelons, but it's a reliable and fun neighborhood joint and I am not ashamed to be a fan.

It had been a year+ since I'd gone to Two., but my boyfriend and I decided to return for dinner on Friday night. We were 15 minutes late -- mostly because it's so freakin' hard to find this place -- and I have been here multiple times! It's located back behind some postal buildings and warehouses and there is no sign out by the road to direct you to the restaurant. Despite being late for our reservation, we were seated right away. Our small table was right next to the giant wall of windows at the back of the restaurant and had a great view of some of the Atlanta skyline. Next time, I will request to be seated outside because it looked so nice out there! The restaurant is definitely loud, but it's got a fun atmosphere and yummy food.

They have special drinks called "infusions" that they change mostly every day, which is what they do with their menu as well. I chose the Big Ass Burger, and the name is right on. It was so big and juicy, I could only eat about a quarter of it. I substituted the onion rings for their amazingly cheesy mac-n-cheese. We started with the cheese fritters, which were tiny and spicy and pretty good. I also had a salad of arugula, cranberries, walnuts, cheese and a good fruity dressing - I ate every bite. No wonder I couldn't finish even half of my burger... We were told by the waitress that the tuna is her favorite on the menu, and the girl next to us was raving about it as well. My boyfriend chose the scallops and said they were some of the best he has had. Surprising coming from a restaurant not known seafood. Needless to say, we had not one bit of room left for dessert, so we skipped it this time around. Their cupcakes and ice cream are pretty tasty, though.

My least favorite part of dining there was the valet. The area where you pick up and drop off your cars is not set up very well, as there is only one ramp in and out. We had to wait probably 10 minutes or so before getting the car -- I mean really, we could have walked to the car and been out to the interstate in the time it took them to bring it to us.

This place was just ok.  I walked in with pretty high expectations considering the "hip" reputation I heard about.  However, when the people who work there tell you how "hip" it is and why, you begin to wondering if it is just another NYC wanna-be trendy restaurant.

The restaurant is located behind several parking lots and buildings.  It is not easy to find.  If the cab driver hadn't known where it was, we probably wouldn't have found it.

The food was pretty good.  Our table got the salmon chips (which were amazing) and the flash fried oysters (didn't try them- oysters aren't my thing).  I had the braised pork as my meal and the mac and cheese it came with was amazing.

Unfortunately, any time I wanted to talk to someone at my table, even right next to me, I had to shout because it was so loud.  I don't just mean regular restaurant buzzing, I mean uncomfortably loud when you are trying to have dinner.

After dinner, we waited about an hour for the cab (that the restaurant called for us) since the cab could not find the restaurant.  We ended up having to walk through all the parking lots and buildings to find a main street where we could hail one down ourselves.

All in all, it was just "ok."  I probably wouldn't go back again.

Great place to go with friends.  It was especially nice to find out they do not have a corking fee if you bring your own wine.  We had some friends that just got back from California with some wines to try and met their for dinner.  The staff was great, and service excellent.  Food was also great but since I've been there more than 3 times the menu is simple in choices.  However, all the food was 5 star I just wish they would add some more choices.

Definitely not the spot for a quiet, romantic date but, a great spot for just a night out or, a night out with friends.  Yes, the location is screwy and not so easy to find but, it's also not THAT difficult.  the entrance off the street is labeled and, then you just follow the drive around back.  It's not that complicated.  Sometimes easier than navigating Atlanta's streets.  The noise level is up there.  You're not shouting at the top of your lungs but, you are raising your voice to speak.  If you're prepared for the noise and the location then, you will have a great time.  The food is fantastic!  Even the veggie plate is actually more than grass clippings and, it is oh-so-yummy.  The decor and ambiance are fun and energetic.  The waiters have never tried to oevrsell and were quite attentive.

Just know what you're getting into and you will love this place.

Let me start by saying the food was delicious. . .I mean it was really a treat, but the atmosphere/service almost completely screwed it up. First, turn down the fucking music. Hipsters may not have anything meaningful to say to one another, but thats no reason to drown out the rest of us. Second, I don't need to wait staff to tell me why the things they do are cool and hip. If you are having to explain why you are different, hip and cool, you become anything but.

Stick to the good food, turn down the music, and if you want to do things a little different, just do it, but don't  try to explain it to your guests. . . we don't care that much.

Food was good, service was mediocre.

Arrived on a Tuesday around 7:30 PM. Place was busy, but not packed.

Hostess: There is about a 20 minute wait.
Me: Ok, no problem, we will wait.
Hostess: Do you want to sit outside or at bar?
Me: Not really, we will wait.
Hostess: Why don't you sit outside?

We are taken to a table outside. Keep in mind the ATL is hot and humid during the summer.

Aside from the unpleasant experience of sitting outside, the food was really good. I would go back and sit inside next time.

The best part about this place is the building, aesthetically very appealing.  The food is ok, it really didn't wow me.  I held a corporate event/dinner here, it went over well.  Staff is very helpful.

Now the big challenge is finding this place. There is only one little sign that is not higher than a car, so you could easily just drive past it. The building is actually behind another building, which I believe it is a Post Office.

The food here is amazing!  The best mac n cheese I've ever had.  The pork is the most tender piece of meat I've ever had in my life.  The appetizers are all amazing as well.  The desserts are good too, but the apps and entrees are what this place is all about.  The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is always too loud.  Not really a good first date place because you can barely hear your company.  I have sat outside before and that isn't nearly as loud.  The parking lot is also ridiculously bumpy.

The place is a little weird to find.   You have to wind through a few parking lots and warehouses to get to it.  A little creepy.

Once inside, the noise level is almost unbearable the more crowded it gets.  What is with this company's restaurants??? The acoustics are horrible.

The food overall was good.  The service was good.  My shark was a little tough but the part that wasn't was tasty.

The bar looked like it was a meat market the later it got.

I'll probably not go again but maybe it's just not my style.  I have no real criticisms.  Solid performer.

My husband and two of our friends had a good time at this place.  We ordered a few appetizers, drinks and entrees to get a good range of the menu offerings.  Of course, I can't remember what we got since it was last year sometime.  But, what we did get was delicious.  Oh, I remember the smoked salmon chips!  Those were awesome.  I'd go back and get two orders just for myself!

The seating at the tables are a little uncomfortable, I must say.  If you're not used to sitting with no back support while dining, you'll be a little uncomfortable.  I felt really bad for our friends who weren't sitting with their backs against the wall.

Valet parking is a necessity.   There are too many people pulling in and leaving all at once!  Great atmosphere!

Food - delicious.  Atmosphere - WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Jimmy and I went for Downtown restaurant week after hearing amazing things.  I love that you have to drive around the postal depot, so that you think it's out of the way, but then you pull into the valet line, and there are 3 cars in front of you.  There was a private party that night, and I think there were lots of people there for the deal because it was packed.

The decor was very urban - brick walls, warehouse ceilings.  We were sitting at the bench seats in the middle, and they were just kind of awkward in my opinion.  I thought the tables were a little to close together, and I felt like I couldn't sit comfortably while eating, since the table was so far from the back of the banquet.

The food: scallops with cheese grits - brilliant!  Seriously, I could eat this stuff once a week!  The dessert - little delicious cupcakes.  I think this is my idea of heaven.

However, I was hoarse by the end of the night from trying to talk to Jimmy, who was a mere two feet across the table.  Seriously, they need to add some textiles to absorb the noise.  Next time we'll have to sit on the patio so the sound isn't reverberating off all the surfaces!

Gonna agree with the posters who commented on the "hip, cool" thing. Food was good.  The decor was nice, but the positives stop there.

1) Seating for a table for 4 at 9:30 on a Tuesday night, caused utter confusion between the 3 host/hostesses manning the station.

2) Our waitress lacked any awareness of empty drink glasses after our first round.

3) Any time you have to describe how you are different...well, you are a loser.  Wine in barrels? HOW AWESOME! puh-lease!

4) I actually enjoy speaking to my dinner-mates.  Two Urban--well, they apparently don't. Music is so loud and if I had to hear one more plate/dish dropped in the exposed kitchen I was going to scream.

Go alone...so you can have intelligent conversation with yourself and tell the wait-staff you have been there a million times and you may not have to hear the "hip" schpeel!

Tasty.  I definitely suggest reservations for this place.  When we arrived, there was already a crowd of people outside and it was only 7:30.  We had reservations and were seated promptly.  Nice!

The space is enormous.  The ceilings are incredibly high and my sister couldn't stop talking about the red chandeliers.  We were seated near the patio but inside.  We still got the great view but, kept cool.

I ordered the brisket which was a nice size of meat.  It came with potatoes, squash and portabello mushrooms.  It was subtly seasoned and perfectly moist.  My sister had steak, which was spicy and totally disappeared from her plate when the meal was over.   The drink menu was good and had some interesting beers on it.

They lose one star because it's really loud!

OK I am at work so this will be brief.

I'm probably one of the very few people who will give this place a 3 star rating. I'd been here before strictly for drinks with friends and loved the atmosphere but my first dining experience was less than stellar.

Highlights and low lights:

- Nice overall atmosphere. Good jazz/ blues live music; nice big open area; nice lighting; fun little patio area; good service
- Food: Had the signature smoked salmon chips appetizer. Those were good; had the calamari appetizer, really enjoyed that; had the scallops entree, really enjoyed that. (Actually had a few bites of a friends.) What I didn't like was the NY Strip that I ordered. For $30 I expected a much better product. For starters I ordered mine Med Rare and it came out Med Well. Yes yes I know I should have sent it back but we had already been there for awhile and I was ready to eat and had somewhere to go after. But anyway, this had to be one of the toughest strips I'd ever had. Now before you come at me about this steak, I know my steaks. And I know that it traditionally has a firm texture because of tight, even grain. And I ALSO know that if it had been dry aged versus wet aged (due to dry aging takes much longer) that it would have been more tender. But the bottom line is this was just simply a very tough cut for a strip. I don't know if TUL get's their steaks from the same distributor or if they have to switch it up from time to time, but whatever day mine came in and from whomever, they need to let these people know. This was Tues, July 15th at about 6:30 PM.

Though the service from a general service perspective was very good, I felt that the server might had noticed that 60% of my steak was left and that it was obvious I had cut into different areas as I was searching for the Med Rare tenderness I had hoped for.

FYI for those of you reading into things; I have 6 years experience working in a restaurant and know what to expect and not to expect. Furthermore, I never ever accept a free meal so that's not what I was looking for either. I just wanted simple acknowledgement that perhaps I wasn't satisfied with the entree so that they could relay the information to the Chef.

Either way, the atmosphere, drinks and other items will make me want to go back, but I will not be ordering the NY Strip from them again.

Oh and I almost forgot, the seats are not too comfortable. When I got up to leave the table, half my ass was numb. :P

Ok so when I started this review I thought it was going to be brief. My bad!

I like to call this place "Two Urban Dicks".  This place sucks big time.  The food and drinks are over-priced, the music/band is always too loud and the suburbanite/conference attending clientele perpetuates the hype of this mediocre restaurant.  I think people fall in love with the decor, which is the only great thing about this place.  They think that for some reason it's a really good restaurant that serves great food.  That and the fact that it's owned by the over-hyped Concentrics Group make it irresistable for some reason I cannot seem to understand.  The service is described as "snooty" and "cold" by other reviewers and I certainly have experienced that at Two.  I personally find the food boring, uninspired and not consistent.

If you do happen to still want to eat at Two, you probably do not want to valet your car.  I know someone whose car was stolen from the valet lot and I heard it was most likely an inside job.  The valet is an independent company (only contracted by the restaurant) and for some reason, Two management hasn't gotten rid of them despite the fact that they have almost run me and several other people over while trying to park the cars.  If you have a really nice car, make sure you watch them park it.  They like to drive your really nice cars really fast through the little lot and over the speed bumps.  If you do not valet your car, you will have to park on the street though, since the rest of the lot is reserved and you will get booted.

[Note:  Why do so many people write in their reviews that it's acceptable/cool/OK to make a reservation and then have to wait 20-30 minutes for your table????  That's NOT cool...that's really bad management/customer service.  This place isn't worth it...trust.]

Let me start by saying that I worked behind the bar for quite awhile. I was turned off from the minute I sat at the bar. Attention bartenders, don't stand in the corner talking to the servers and act like your too cool to take care of your guests. Which way does the money flow?

Those plastic containers with floating fruit look like a biology experiment gone bad and I'd never think about ordering one. The Salmon chips are good, the service is lacking and I can go to half a dozen establishments in the proximity that serve better food and make you feel welcomed. Raul at Pura Vida will actually make you a mojito from scratch and have a conversation with you and your guest.

I came to Atlanta for 3 days with some friends and this restaurant was the best!

We looked up some cool restaurants to visit and this one got some great reviews... it didn't disappoint at all.

The food was delicious, the location was great, and the pricing was worth it.

I highly recommend this place.  If you visit Atlanta.... please stop by.

I always ask ppl, if you were leaving Atlanta, and you could only pick 3 restaurants to go to before you left, which ones would you pick.  I get different answers, but an overwhelming majority, including myself never fail to make sure that Two Urban Licks in is on the list.  Two has this incredible energy to it.  The buzz that whirls around this place is almost magical and despite the type of day that you are having, Two almost always will inject you with enough adrenaline to improve the worst of days.

The first time, and only, time that I went I got a little lost trying to find the damn place its nestled in a deep corner inside of a warehouse type building....very lowkey, very unassuming, but extremely vibrant and stunning once you actually see the spot.  It really has that best kept secret type of vibe that I have always loved...

We made reservations and still had to wait up in there....but it was cool, they have a bar scene that is pretty hot, so its a cool spot to grab a drink and relax..the bartenders are quick the service is great...think Cheers 2020...

The thing I always find breathtaking about 2 Urban Licks is the view of the city that you get on that damn deck...its absolutely amazing.  This is a great spot to go on a warm summer night...kick back a few drinks...have some stellar food...and just chill and remember why the hell u moved to Atlanta...

For food...here is what I remember...a)  I had a burger that I think was called a "big ass burger".  It was very tasty, I remember my Gf at the time (rolls eyes), couldnt keep her hands off my damn plate...the burger was excellent and we both ate every damn bite.

For starters we ordered calamari, which, if i remember correctly comes with a honey glaze on top of it which is nothing short of incredible.  Definiitely one of the top 3 or 4 calamari's that i have had in the city..

I keep on promising myself to head back here, but I hate doing restaurant repeats...however, in this case, I may make an exception....literally, it is that good.

I brought foodie friends from SFO for dinner.  JoAnne was our server.  We were seated upon arrival at our reservation time at a great table by the back windows.  JoAnn was extremely helpful with wine pairings and entree ideas.  Loved her personality.  All the food was delicious.  Highly recommend this place.  Ask for JoAnn - we loved her.

i've only diner here once, but I really enjoyed it.  i went with a bunch of girls for a bachelorette-type night.  The food was excellent, and the portions were large.  Our server was great too.  After all, what's great food without great service.  I love how all the booths have little pillows for every guest.  The restaurant is rather challenging to find if you're not sure where it is, so leave with directions.

Can someone say Salmon Chips!! I LOVE this appetizer at TWO.  The ambiance at this restaurant is very nice --upscale but laid back.

For my entree, I had the fried chicken over baked beans -- It was so good, very favorful.  I also got an extra side of the mac 'n' cheese, which is by far my favorite food (I'm such a kid!).  The mac 'n' cheese tasted like it came from a soul food restaurant -- very good consistency and most of all CHEESY!   By far the best mac 'n' cheese in the city that I've tasted and I've been to 4 different soul food places in the city since moving here late last year.

The only two downsides to this restaurant are -- valet parking can be slow and the menu changes on occasion so if you find a favorite dish (like I did) you might go back to the restaurant and find that it is not on the menu anymore.

Other than that, I'll give 2 thumbs up to TWO!

WOW! absolutely amazing! the ambiance and service were hands down the best i had in a very long time. i'm kind of against the couple who sit side by side at a restaurant for added intimacy, but i had to do it. although i was there with a friend i had to commit this so called sin. one side of the table was a regular chair, while the other was couch-esque with big soft pillows! hello, why can't we both have pillows!?!

the dinner and dessert were phenomenal! i had the pork and i didn't need a knife to cut it.... it just melted in my mouth. for dessert we had the cupcakes with the brown sugar ice cream; orgasmic. their brown sugar ice cream is of the top five things i have ever tasted, EVER!

i will go back there every single time i'm in the ATL!

This restaurant has a great view of the skyline, and the drinks are stiff. Food--just sort of "there" in my opinion. Nothing too creative or unique, and not very memorable. Nice place to have a cocktail though.

I agree with a lot of what people have to say about the "vibe" of the restaurant, waiters standing around a little too much, especially the bar, aloofness, etc., but overall we don't ever feel like we've been ignored.  The reason we come here is the food.  My partner loves the tuna, it really is incredible, and I LOVE the scallops.  The food is alway s very, very consistent and incredibly good.  But we always stick with what we know works and it always works out very well.  The view is very nice, yes the noise is defeaning at times, and there is a bit of a snobbishness at check in, but I don't let that taint my feelings for the food at a restaurant and it's sad that so many people who get their feelings hurt seem to feel the need to rag on a place because they weren't the center of attention.

Go for the food, skip the tude and you'll do fine.

Already a fan of ONE, of course I decided to give two a shot.  Let's start with their fancy concoctions in hanging over the bar and right tasty.  If you are in the mood for some libations, give them a try.

I would not recommend having a very large group attend this restaurant, however.  While we had a fabulous time, it is quite loud (nothing on the walls to absorb the sounds).  The wait staff did a nice job keeping up, but with so many ladies at one table, it got a little nutty.

I enjoyed the appetizers, but the choice of wine was a much bigger success for me.  I could have a different glass with every course and the waiter was very helpful in pairing them for me.  The entrees are wonderful and my own mini Dutch oven of mac and cheese was a delight.

I highly recommend the desserts - the cupcakes are delectable and the rest of the choices are creative and delicious as well.

Be forewarned, when you pull it up, it certainly doesn't look like a restaurant and Valet parking is your only option.  This is fine until it is time to leave and you have to wait to get your car.  Also, they will not seat parties until EVERY member is present and accounted for.  Understandable for such a happening place, but a little annoying waiting for the stragglers.

This place is okay, but don't go if you like dinner conversation. It's pretty cacophonous in there. My wife and I laughed at the fact that we couldn't hear each other whenever we tried to talk.

The decor is cool and trendy, and the painting on the wall is really great, but with the crowd and the atmosphere I found that I couldn't really concentrate on the expensive food. The food was good, but not really worthy of the price tag.

I guess I might take someone to dinner here if I was out with people that I didn't really want to make conversation with.

Love love love this place.  The drinks are great, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing.  the waiters know the menu inside out and even made great recommendations.  I went with one of my friends who does not eat seafood; however, I love calamari so i ordered it and she gave it one taste and did not stop eating it until it was all gone.  We also ordered the lamb lollipops, which were so delcious...kind of a sweet and spicy taste.  For dinner i had their vera cruz steaks with shallotts, which was incredible.  I loved the crunchy shallotts with my steak.  Their menus do change often, but it is worth it everytime.  I think this is a great place for birthday dinners and for large groups.

Our waiter told us that Two Urban Licks was the second busiest restaurant in the Southeast (right after the Varsity) in terms of number of people served (he wasn't sure what the source for that was). Which in itself is pretty impressive - being an upscale restaurant, where patrons sometimes like to linger over a four course meal for a couple hours, I would think turnaround could be a challenge. They definitely have the seating for it. . . it's located in an industrialish space near one of the postal centers and past some small businesses off of Ralph McGill. There's also not one but two hostesses perched at the front to take the incoming flow of traffic. The space has ridiculously high ceilings and touches like vastly oversized flowers in vases and revolving artwork on display. The kitchen that sits directly in the middle of the main dining area is a bit like watching Iron Chef, but in real life. There's also a patio, which (weather permitting) could be a pretty romantic spot.

The menu changes quite frequently, and I can only image the amount of planning that goes into this. Very cool that you'll get to experience something new every time you visit, but it could be a sad moment if you find a dish you love since it'll likely be gone next time you visit.

And a note for the ladies: bust out your highest, most uncomfortable shoes here. The valet line is literally right at the entrance of the restaurant. . . you could probably get away with walking like 28 steps or so (unless you have to make a trip to the bathroom).

If you're looking for somewhere quiet to have a serious discussion or take your Auntie Susan who has an aversion to loudness, this won't be ideal. But if you're looking for a place for a group, something new to try or meet up with friends, cruise down Freedom Parkway and check it out. Just be sure to make a reservation.

I ate here on mother's day last year so in honor of my almost one year anniversary of the day I was introduced to this fine eating establishment I am going to write my long awaited review. *chirp* chirp* Alright so maybe noones been holding their breath but anyways... When you first pull up here it looks like a rather unassuming old warehouse but when you go in it's sleek and sheik! I had a reservation and still had to wait about 20 minutes but that was just fine cause I just sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine from their extensive wine list. Mmmm great wine! Eventually we were seated and I went straight for the lamb lollipop appetizer. Oh wow it was delicious! Pieces of tender lamb with grape chille and goat cheese on a popsicle stick. If you go I'm telling you this app is a must! I had the pork shoulder roast which was excellent with a side of mac and cheese. I can't remember what the name of my dessert was but it was some form of cheesecake with passion fruit sorbet. It was good but not fabulous. They have a nice patio seating area with a great view. Alot of people say the place is too loud and the food is too spicy neither of which was an issue for me.One more note they also have complimentary valet.

I love 2 Urban Licks. This is one of the places I MUST go to on any trip to Atlanta. It's tucked away in a warehouse with a drive up valet drop off and looks like a completely weird place to eat - until you go in and magically its a big, open, LOUD restaurant. There are windows in the back that give you a view of the city which is nice if you're a tourist. There is also a huge fire tower in the middle of the kitchen which is interesting. I L-O-V-E the pork shoulder and macaroni and cheese. Those are my 2 favorite things here. I've also had the ribs and the chicken, but the pork shoulder is what brings me back. The cupcake dessert is good too :)

This place rocks! It is one of my favs in ATL. It is situated in a warehouse type setting, and to get to it, makes you start wondering where the heck am I going, but then when you walk in, you're in a completely different world. The duck dish is amazing and their filet ,whenever it is offered on the menu, is considered by many the best filet they have ever had. The patio is really charming too overlooking the city. Tip: Make reservations before you go.

My friends (who's an Atlanta local) took me to this place.  At first I wasn't quite sure if I arrived at the right place - you couldn't see if it's a restaurant or an old abandoned warehouse from the outside (save for a tiny signage that says 'Two Urban Licks') by the driveway.  I admire the owners for choosing this out-of-nowhere location.

The place was happening for a weeknight... I was glad they made a reservation.  We were seated almost immediately.  The food was great (LAMB LOLLIPOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and so were the drinks... The interior is really nicely done *I like the back patio and the high ceilings.*.... The lighting, however, could be improved a little bit (it was way too dark!).  Another con is the music - it was WAY too loud!

Anyway, this sure is a place to go if you were to impress someone!

Yeah, pretty cool atmosphere in there, great for people out of town that want to be in a trendy Atlanta spot.

However, it takes more than trendiness to please the mouth and stomach.  The food is average at best, nothing to really complain about, but nothing to rave about either.

The biggest problem...it is so loud in there I have to scream to whoever I am with, and they still can't hear me.

I think 2 Urban Licks would be a great place to go on a date with someone who speaks a language you can't speak.  This way it doesn't matter.

You can stare at each other all night and smile, and make hand signals to each other...rub your stomach "mmm...I'm hungry".

Things like that.

My fiance and I went on the urging of many friends over the past year or so.  When we got there, we were really impressed with the room.  It's huge, but decorated in an ultra-hip fashion.  The back doors were open and you could see a beautiful view of downtown Atlanta.  That's about where the charm ended.  The food is incredibly overpriced.  The wine comes in "thiefs" - meaning it's wine they store in bulk that's not corked.  I'd be ok with that if it wasn't incredibly overpriced and didn't taste horrible.  Our Pinot Noir tasted like watered down wine you'd use for a sangria.   The food was nothing special, but also incredibly  overpriced.  All in all, we paid $100 for what should have been a $20 meal - tops.
