Definitely the better dining experience at La Quinta this past weekend and the place we'll return to dine next time we stay at the resort.

    What we had:

Tomato soup - absolutely delicious. If I could have gone for a swim in this bowl I would have. It's hands down, the best tomato soup I've ever had. Make sure you order it, you won't be disappointed.

We ordered the BLT and Beef Dip and then split them. Both sandwiches were fantastic but the Beef Dip was the obvious stand out. Usually I find au jus fairly bland but this one really stood up to the beefy flavor of the sandwich. Really good fries too.

Peanut butter pie - not super heavy at all. The peanut butter wasn't overwhelming (though I never mind if it is) and the consistency of the filling was nice and light for a lunch dessert.

Overall, the service was amazing. I wasn't expecting much from a lunch service at a huge resort but we were very, very pleased. The ambiance was nice and relaxed but didn't have a diner or resort restaurant feel. In hindsight we should have skipped the Adobe Grill that night and just come back to Twenty 6 instead.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I've now had breakfast and dinner here and had some not-so-resort like service experience here.  They were inaccurate with billing each time and each time they were charging me for stuff that I should not have been included. Both times were rectified but it does put you on your toes here.

Breakfast buffet was great!  Lots of choices ranging from heart attack causing food to healthier fares. So there is food for everyone here.  It does come with a resort price. $$$

Dinner was not so impressive. Just your run of the mill American food with resort prices. $$$

Sitting here in the restaurant. Waiting for a drink I ordered 20 minutes ago.  It ain't looking' good.   I've talked with 3 different servers.  Frantic.  No one has  any idea of why they are here.  Martini just arrived.  Now everyone recognizes the crabby man who just got his well deserved libation.  Applebee's could make a fortune here. Too casual for my taste..  I understand the concept of a casual place in this location.  Just do it with some kind of style.

I had a wedge with no dressing, even though I wanted blue cheese.   Salmon was good... But, I gotta tell ya....  Why would you go here?

    You wouldn't.

Mediocre quality. Watered down blue cheese dressing. Noisy. Creamed corn mush on the roasted chicken which was fatty. Wonder bread buns. Best part was pickled cauliflower.  Good solid 2 out of 10 :(

Clearly the place to dine at this resort. Delicious breakfast!  Good service, and I really enjoyed the Benedict. The pancake was so delicious, very buttermilk-y.  I ordered a Bellini and got a mimosa that tasted so bitter I think the champagne had gone bad.  Overall, a great place to dine with better food than I would have expected.

The place to eat at La Qunita.

Eggs Benedict here rocks.  I never give 5 stars but this place deserves a higher rating than the 3.5 stars it has.  Sit at the bar--the bartenders are entertaining and pour good strong drinks!

I am going to de-hype my initial review yet keep the same rating overall.  Good food, not perfect or mind blowing, but good....

After spending several days in La Quinta this is probably one of the better places to eat.

Quick & Dirty:  A chic restaurant and bar hidden within the heaven that is La Quinta Resort.  Happy Hour DAILY at 4PM!!

    Long & Happy:

I bumped this review up to 5 stars solely because they have Happy Hour every day at 4PM.  That kicks butt in my book and if you're a "social drinker" like myself then you will like that too.

Twenty 6 has a pretty cool vibe to it and you would never expect such a trendy looking place at the La Quinta Resort.  The place is split evenly down the middle with the Bar on one side and the restaurant on the other.  I sat in the bar where it's much more casual and happy hour lives.

For Happy Hour they have pretty good deals on everything.  I had a Pims Cup at my brother-in-laws suggestion and I must say, I think I found my favorite summer drink.  It's like the bartender gave an Arnold Palmer a swift kick in the ass.  I could drink them all day.

The food at Twenty 6 was pretty good also.  We tried the Crab Cakes which had REAL CRAB!  Imagine that, no fake crap!  We also had the burger which was good, and the Pizza with Goat Cheese and Spinach (I think).  Overall the food was pretty fresh and well thought out.  I would like to go back for dinner and try one of their main dishes.

The best thing about Twenty 6 is that it is located at the La Quinta Resort which is perfectly breathtaking.  Everywhere you turn it looks like a painting.  I highly suggest visiting and/or staying here if you are ever in the desert.

Would I go back?  Most Certainly.

Should you go?  4PM Happy Hour EVERYDAY!  Yes, go.

    Arrivederci!

Two undersized pancakes and two spoonfuls of blueberry compote.  Nothing else.  $15.  Are you fucking kidding me?  I was angry the whole time eating them.

For $15, I better be eating them off of Gwen Stefani's mid section.

Favorite restaurant in one of my favorite resorts. Twenty-6 has a nice quiet bar staffed by old school bartenders for your drinking pleasure. These are the types of barkeeps who know when you want to talk, when to leave you alone, and most importantly, how to make every drink the right way. You just know that if someone ordered a shot of jager, an irish car bomb or both, the bartender would grab the offender by the shirt collar and escort them out. Best spot for an afternoon drink.

The restaurant itself is also very nice. If you can, get a table outside. I find the inside gets slightly noisy at times. Especially if there are kids around. Outside is a great spot though. You have the water from the fountains. You can probably catch some music from something playing in the courtyard. Usually mariachi from upstairs. There's just something about eating under the stars I suppose.

The food is good all around. I haven't had anything bad yet. The descriptions themselves sound pretty plain, but the dishes have always been better in person. The service has always been great, with the staff taking care of your needs as they should. It's the desert and even at night it can get hot, so they know that your water glass should never be empty. Last time I was here, we probably spent close to three hours ordering bottles of champagne, apps, dinner and dessert. The waiter wasn't fazed by our gluttony and never once rushed us.

I dined here on the patio for lunch & dinner.  The food here is great!

Their bread basket has these cheese muffins that are to die for!  The crisp flat bread is also good too.  For lunch, I had the roasted chicken (chicken breast marinated with garlic, lemon, rosemary, thyme with petite fingerling potatoes & grilled vegetables)--great flavors.  For dinner, I had scallops with risotto & cucumber salad (not on the menu currently on line).  The scallops were the biggest ones I'd ever seen--very meaty.  For dessert I had the chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream & chocolate ganache.  The scoop of ice cream came in this crystalized sugar lattice bowl (at least I think that's what it was).  The cappuccino I had with dessert came with some cinnamon sprinkled on it...nice touch.

During lunch, they have umbrellas on the patio for shade.  At night, there's strings of lights in the shrubbery around the patio.  The courtyard there is rather pretty with a fountain & brightly colored flowers.

Located in La Quinta Resort & Club, in a building across the way from the hotel lobby by a beautiful garden (as I mentioned already).

When a chef has to use pepper to make a really super great piece of meat taste better - and potatoes too - I'm a little wary.  I was mad at myself for not saying the usual - no pepper.  Many chefs in California do this and it's so not necessary.

Went during Happy Hour and I ordered a SOUS VIDE ORGANIC TURKEY CLUB  with smoked bacon and avocado with a side of coleslaw. It was a a tasty sandwich but pricing is sky high. I really liked the sous vide organic turkey which comes sliced. Very fresh tasting and REAL. None of that fake, super salty deli meat crap. But, before we got our REAL turkey sandwich, the waiter had brought us a Club sandwich WITHOUT the turkey inside! So, I'm wondering, was the chef drinking during the happy hour? ;) Anyway, overall decent enough as we were staying at the resort and easy enough. Minus a star for pricing and lack of turkey breast in the first sandwich.

Oh my! Let's just say I did not and probably would not ever give this place a second chance. Yes, it's hot as heck in the summer and sure I'd been pool side all day and yes I was hungry and possibly a little cranky but when I am hungry - I usually take a look at a menu and want everything or have a hard time choosing. I looked at not one but THREE menus (lunch, dinner and bar) and well, where do I begin... I can't stand flies in restaurants, it's hand downs one of the most disgusting things to deal with. This place is decked out in a fancy dark wood and had dimmed lighting by about 5P - attempting to pull off the "I'm a classy resort restaurant" look but flies were constantly landing on the rims of our water glasses (this repulsed me). I really wouldn't bother with this place, I very soon after reviewing all menus felt I'd be better off driving to the Trader Joes I'd seen on the drive in and dining on a pre made meal from there. Every item on the menu screamed plain, cheap and diner yet the prices were all on average $15 and above. I am not paying $20 bucks for a grilled cheese on "Webers" bread of all things. I couldn't find anything on the dinner or lunch menu so I asked to see the bar menu - they had a few flat bread pizza's I contemplated on trying until the server irritated me by making note that the flat bread pizza's are "really thin" ummm.... yea!!!! typically flat bread IS thin! Geez, I just couldn't stand this place. I also asked if they had any cheese and fruit plates. They did have a cheese plate and when I asked what sort of cheese came on it - I was told Cheddar and a few others. I can make a better cheese plate from the selection at Ralph's - no aged Gouda, goat cheese, brie - Cheddar! for gods sake, Ok by this time I needed a glass of wine - so I had a glass of Pinot Noir and left it at that. My son had the kids pizza with carrot sticks and I almost felt like a bad mother just watching him eating the thing. I seriously think the food at Trader Joes is WAY better than what this place is serving. If your standards are low - go for it! you may be ok with it but for me, it just didn't scratch the surface of an ok place to dine - especially at a resort! I was hoping Adobe Grill would be open (I've heard great things about them) but they were on a summer schedule and not open Mondays. I really think this place needs to revamp their menu. It's too bad I was scared away and wouldn't even consider them for breakfast the next morning. The coffee shop however made a decent non fat latte and their bran muffin was good.

I ate here 3 times during my conference at the La Quinta resort  a few weeks ago - once for breakfast and twice for lunch.  The breakfast buffet was pretty good and much faster since you can serve yourself.  The lunch was very good - grilled cheese and tomato soup was yummy - but the service is pretty slow if you are in a rush.  The staff also gave away our reserved table the second day for lunch and moved us to an area that was noisy and hard to speak during our meeting - very unprofessional, in my opinion.

We went to Twenty 6 our first night at the resort.  The restaurant was pretty empty, but the bar had a few golfers and wives in from a long day on the course.

The flat-bread pizza, veggie burger, club sandwich and side iceberg wedges were ordered amongst us without any idea we were in for anything spectacular. But, wow! The food was really good and very thoughtfully prepared.  This may have been because we were of a handful of people ordering food, but I definitely don't count that against them.  You must order the flat-bread pizza because it's amazing.  The wedge is rather unique too, with pickled onions and grilled corn to make it exciting.

Kind of funny side-note: The restaurant has cow-hide upholstered booths that are a little in-your-face animal print if that's not your thing.  Although my friend was not a vegetarian who ordered the veggie burger, I would imagine it would feel a little awkward if she was one and was enjoying her meal surrounded by a poor cow's coat.

The service was fast both time. I would recommend this place for lunch or breakfast.

Only eaten here for breakfast and it is normal resort prices but food is very good. You can sit outside under the plaza (dog friendly) or inside and enjoy the a\c. Bacon and egg quesedilla is my favorite and comes with guac and pico de gallo. My wife loves the Gilberto Benedict with grilled avocados and ranchero sauce. Throw in a couple of mimosas ecah and it will run you about $60 for breakfast.

Service is very good. Also, if you have a dog, they will bring out a bowl of water and some crackers.

This restaurant was decent.  I had the snapper, which was pretty good actually.  We had edamame for the appetizer but it was cold and insanely salty.  The service was ok but the waiter didn't know much at all.  He didn't know the specials, didn't know the side dishes for some of the entrees, and couldn't tell the difference between nigiri sushi and sashimi.  The lighting was extremely dark too, but other than that it was a good restaurant.  Nice hostesses and the other wait staff was nice.

High prices, low quality.  My 1/2 chicken was about as fatty as chicken comes.  The skin was thick, soft and chewy.  It was served over 3 slices of carrot and a spoonful of potato puree for $23.  My kid got a $15 burger that looked like standard room service fair you would find from any 3 star airport hotel.  Throw in the Applebee's quality service and you've got yourself another reason to cook at home.

Don't eat here. The service is slow and the food-knowledge is poor. Case in point: I asked if the bagel that comes with the lox was fresh or frozen. Waiter replies that it comes toasted. A clue I should have picked up on. When I explained my question he assured me it was fresh. When it arrived 45 minutes later, it was obviously defrosted and toasted. By that point I was starving so I ate it, with the caviar I had to request a second time although it's listed on the menu as part of the dish. How stupid did I feel eating caviar on a frozen bagel? Reader, stupid enough not to make the same mistake twice.
