Like everyone else on here I searced and searched....my wedding is on the beach in Monterey and I wanted to get a linen out fit for my 3 boys ages, 12, 8 & 3.
I stumbled upon Tuxedo Fashions online. What enticed me more to come in was the $30 off each rental - Ka-ching! ;P
The sale's guy that helped us, Kyle allowed us to come in after closing on Sunday to check out their selection.
Thank You Kyle for seeing us after closing and the linen outfit that they had is perfect! It's exactly what we were looking for.
Made an appt. the next day, all 3 boys & myself came in for a fitting and Kyle was very patient & entertaining with the boys. He moved fast which is good because you know with kids they have a short attention span =)
So before going to Mens Wearhouse, I would highly recommend checking out this place first.

Seriously?! seriously. not one bad review?! thats pretty impressive. well, i'm not going to change that or the truth for that matter.
in the past week, my fiance and i visited this store. like everyone else, we were fools and already went to men's wearhouse and such to look for tuxedos. there needs to be a big old sign next to the "welcome to san jose" sign that says "if you need tuxedos, just go to tuxedo fashions".
when we first arrived, we met this tall caucasian male in his 50s(?) come out to the counter. my fiance asked the straight Qs:
-do you offer ones with "X" number of buttons
-what fabrics
-what colors
-what is final price per tuxedo
-what does each tuxedo include
at first, the man helping us was not much of a salesman. maybe my fiance's questions were to the point. there was no smiling involved with any of us until my fiance was pleased with the answers and told the man that we wanted to rent tuxedos from them. of course. then the salesman smiled. hahahha. maybe he was having a tough day? i dunno.
the prices are seriously the cheapest that we've seen. so far, bargaining techniques are pointless. its clear that this place gets a whole bunch of asians trying to bargain like crazy.

they have all the freaking szies for everything. no shipping/ordering/waiting. its awesome.
we set up our order and the salesman gave us some great useful tips and such.
so at first, the salesman was a little scary to me. but now, my fiance LOVES him ("i love this place. i like that guy alot") and things are awesome.
This was the 5th [at least] tuxedo shop we went to in the past month. After the first 3 (Men's Warehouse, Selix and another in a mall), this hands down had the best selection and latest styles. Chris Brown had a no-pressure sales approach, knew what he was talking about (stocks thousands of suits in the warehouse on site), and offered us the best deal - We wanted 7 rentals and the cost came to less that $80 per! MW and other places quote me at $100-$150 per - and that is AFTER a discount, if any for the same tux.
Additional Pros: Since they have just about everything on stock, you can try on just about anything. Chris was very patient and upfront - always a plus in my book.
Cons: It's not a chain, so this is the only one and was a bit far for us and our groomsmen to travel. It's location was kinda jenky, but don't judge a book by its cover - at least there's convenient streat parking!
We could've save an extra $80 going here, but it was just too far for everyone in our party... Otherwise, i thought the reviews are spot on and wasn't disappointed with the selection and service received.
(NOTE: i went in mid May, admist busy Prom Season and even though there were people coming in and going out, I never felt rush and got 1st rate attention and service (there was 4 of us).
Kyle rocked it out for us! I walked in, got a great tux in a quick minute. Kyle hooked me up w/ a great deal.
They make the painfully process of renting a tux easy and fun.I havd to rent a tux from them when I was living down south and their website made it very easy and simple. I was able to pick out the tux and also make sure all the info was correct so when I flew into San Jose for the wedding the tux fit perficly.
Okay, I've read the reviews and was excited to come check it out. I called in the morning and Bart was very helpful over the phone (got me even more excited). We got there about 20 minutes before closing and Bart didn't seem in the mood to help at all. He was not friendly in assisting us choose the colors and gave us kind of 'smart' remarks/answers.
We felt he was "forced" to assist us rather than "wanting" to gain our business. Only when we left he then changed up his tone and said "Thank you for coming!". They had the colors we wanted, but with the not so helpful service, we have decided to move onto another place.

UPDATE: We looked high and low for the right matching vest color, but this was the only place. We decided to just go back there and get it over with. We were dreading to go there, but met Chris Brown...no not the singer! Chris is the owner and is absolutely fabulous! Extremely helpful and gave us lots of choices and made each person try on different styles even though they were jam packed.
He was patience with us and gave us suggestions and showed lots of different styles. Overall, Chris changed my perception of this place and I had a wonderful time there.
Before I go into the details, here's the quick summary: great service, great selection, and great price.
I went in with my fiancé this past week to look for a tux This was actually our second time in there since we decided to shop around. We were referred to this place by Selix since we were looking for a particular shade of pink. It tells you a lot about a place when a competitor is referring customers. We also went to the Men's Wearhouse in Saratoga (see related review), which was a complete waste of time.
Israel helped us out big time. Here you'll actually find people who know about tuxedos, in fact, Israel has a long history in men's fashion. He was patient enough to bring us quite a few selections to try on and helpful in pointing out all the differences. The regular prices at this place beats all the major competitors, but look online for a coupon that will save you extra $$. The location is a bit sketch, but well worth the visit.
These reviews will not mislead you, and I almost feel like in no way am I contributing anything by posting here, but I feel this place deserves the review considering the amazing service I received.
The exterior of the store itself seems rather deceiving considering that it looks extremely tiny from the outside, but you'll be pleased to learn that they have somewhere in the neighborhood of 7,000 square feet of storage in the "back room" for their surplus of 10,000 tuxedo outfits.
The price you pay is very reasonable considering the quality of service that you can expect to get from here. I did not catch the name of the person who helped me, but he knew what he was talking about and he was very easy to communicate with; your standard traits of a good sales clerk.
The overall selection is excellent (considering that they supply a large percentage of the local tuxedo stores). I was slightly disappointed by the fact that they did not have a large selection of narrow ties, or tight fitting dinner jackets, but nonetheless, the care they take in measuring compensates for this insignificant lack.
Tuxedo Fashions of California is a fine Tuxedo Rental store and I am sure that I will be back for future occasions; Highly recommended.
I came with my boyfriend to rent a tux here for Prom. The sales clerk was super friendly, and really knew his stuff. They have mannequins wearing the tuxes they have, and you can just point at one, ask ANY question about it, and he's got the answer.
Brent was really happy about the fit. He was afraid that since he's tall and skinny, he'd look awkward. But the pants fit him perfectly - they weren't baggy or weird. They also had a great selection of colors for vests and ties, so he got to match me. :]
I was a little worried when we came to return the tux because we'd lost the cuff links. The clerk was really cool about it, and he said "Well, that's why there's a deposit." So we got $15 from the $20 deposit, and he said if we find the cuff links, we get our five bucks back. Sweet!
This is "THE" - all caps- place to get your tux.
It might be out of your way, but well worth the drive.
This place supplies most of the other places in the Bay Area. Usually you go into a shop, look at a book, pick something out and wait until it comes in like the day before the event before you get a real look at it.

They have a great selection, and even if you require a look that they don' t have displayed or if you don't see it in one of their catalogues, they can special order it for you. Chris is the sweetest, and he really took care of my husband and his groomsmen when we were scrambling to get them tuxes just a COUPLE of weeks right before the wedding. I'm talking TWO weeks before!
BG's right, they have every size, style, and shoe in stock for your tux renting needs. Their prices are really reasonable. A really, "get in, get what you need, and leave happy" kinda business.
I hate to jinx it, but note there are ten reviews with five stars - a perfect score. And well deserved. I rent a tuxedo once or twice a year and I have always been pleased with the service and the attitude.
Stores like tuxedo shops should realize that if you're in their store, you're experiencing some important moment in your life. Sure, you're the one millionth person they've dealt with who's getting married or winning an award. But to YOU it's a big deal.
At Tuxedo Fashions they treat you like you're the first person to walk into their store and say "I have this important event coming up."
i came here with my fiancee based on all the great reviews. the selection here is way better than mens warehouse. the prices were great and i loved how they have everything on hand to try on. unlike mens warehouse were you order everything before trying it on. my fiancee tried on several different pants and jackets and we were very happy with the serivce and the tux we picked out. chris was the guy who helped us and he was super nice and knew what he was talking about. this is the only place to go to rent a tux and it was very easy and stress free.
We came here for tuxedo rentals for 5 groomsmen and for my husband for our wedding. Kyle was very helpful and friendly. The prices are good and we picked up our tuxedos a day before our wedding with no problems. Stress free and returned tuxedos the next day.
In the past I have gone to the generic big name tux shops anytime I needed something special for an event or wedding. These types of shops always got the job done but really I had no idea what I was missing until recently.

The service is killer, these guys know what they are talking about, and can really accommodate whatever you need. When renting in the past I always got a subtle anxious feeling from the clerks like I was just another demanding customer to get out of the way so the next person could get started, but not at Tuxedo Fashions. If you are looking to get treated like a human being instead of a big walking credit card, you should definitely drop by. The other thing I really dug about the shop is that they live up to their name. Other Tux shops seem to have the same handful of cuts and patterns, but I was really impressed with the variety of styles and looks available. The choices where sophisticated and refined, and I felt I was being helped by someone who knew a thing or two about fashion. Whether you are looking to turn heads or just pick up a tux that breaks free of the generic, Tuxedo Fashions comes with my highest recommendation.
After visiting every tuxedo rental store in the area our last stop was Tuxedo Fashions on Meridian Ave. The neighborhood is a little suspect but this is THE place for tuxedos. When we arrived the store was really busy with kids getting ready for their proms but the employees immediately greated us, chatted while they helped the kids and made us feel totally welcome. After we browsed for a few minutes the manager, Bart, was finally free and he was able to focus all his attention on us. We must have spent at least an hour discussing our wedding needs, theme, colors and the overall look I wanted. My fiancee then got to try on at least 5-6 different tuxedos and just about every vest and tie that they own in blues and ivorys. We found exactly the look we wanted and Bart's patience and incredible knowledge made the process very easy. I can't recommend this store high enough. Everyone getting married should check out Tuxedo Fashions!
This place is outstanding! The guys working here are very nice and helpful. I needed a suit that looked like Abe Lincoln for Halloween, and they measured me up, gave me a good price and had it ready in plenty of time. They really know their tailoring, and I received many complements.
If I ever need to rent a suit or tuxedo, this is the FIRST place on my list. They customer service was excellent, and their stock of fashions extensive.

This is the BEST TUXEDO place! My husband got the tuxs for our wedding party here and they were just wonderful! The fit is fantastic and they really spend a ton of time with you going over your options! Their prices are similar to their competition and the service is WAY WAY Better!!
